• C# Problem with keyboard language...

  Hello you all! I just made an application which purpose is to find an x result using the rule of three. It runs fine and everything but there is a small problem. I am using WinXP Europpean Spanish version. As we all know, in many europpean countries the decimal dot is changed by a " , " comma. When I use my application, it turns out that when I press the dot key on my keyboard´s number pad, my application doesnt take it as a normal decimal dot and it ignores it... so I need to manually press the comma key so it can give me the right answer. How can I solve this problem?

  Hello, I was searching for a way of detecting in my C# code if the page had been refreshed (f5). First I don’t know if a jQuery/JavaScript solution would be better than a fully C# ASP.Net. So... the first question would be: What would make you choose one over the other? And the third, and most important part, is if someone would help me with this. Some good tutorial, or article… anything. I tried some solutions out there… but maybe, because of my lack of knowledge they didn’t work. Thanks in advance.

  Hello - I am building an iFrame and am using document.location.href - my exact code is: <script type="text/javascript"> document.write("<iframe src='http://www.facebook.com/plugins/like.php?href=" + document.location.href + "&layout=standard&show_faces=false&action=like&font=verdana&colorscheme=light' frameborder=0></iframe>"); </script> This is working great for all of my pages except one. I believe the issue with the one page is caused by a dash "-" being in the page name. My questions is - is there a way to encode my src differently so that the link works? The CORRECT URL I want it to pull is: []/products/Product%252dExample.html But what it IS pulling in is: []/products/Product-Example.html And this is causing the page to not work correctly. Thanks!

  Hello, I am working on editors created with GMF and struggling with OCL right now. Is there a possibilty to prevent a node to be created if an OCL statement in the mapping evaluates to false? If tried adding an OCL statement to a node and all it does is making the node not visible in the editor, but it is created. There is also an OCL statement in the ecore file, but this way it is only evaluated when there should be something done with the created model. I does not prevent a user to construct an invalid model but this is what I intend to prevent. Thanks in advance, Morph

  Hello I want to generate a Unique Random number with out using the follow statement : Convert(int, (CHECKSUM(NEWID()))*100000) AS [ITEM] Cause when I use joins clauses on "from" it generates double registers by using NEWID() Im using SQL Server 2000 *PD : When I use Rand() it probably repeat on probability 1 of 100000000 but this is so criticall so it have to be 0% of probability to repeat a random value generated My Query with NewID() and result on SELECT statement is duplicated (x2) My QUery without NewID() and using Rand() on SELECT statement is single (x1) but the probability of repeat the random value generated is uncertainly but exists!   Hello , I went through local variables and class variables concept. But I had stuck at a doubt " Why is it so that we cannot declare local variables as static " ? For e.g Suppose we have a play( ) function : void play( ) { static int i=5; System.out.println(i); } It gives me error in eclipse : Illegal modifier for parameter i; I had this doubt because of the following concepts I have read : Variables inside method : scope is local i.e within that method. When variable is declared as static , it is present for the entire class i.e not to particular object. Please could anyone help me out to clarify the concept. Thanks.

• Checking COM Port Availability in C#

  Hello. My C# application populates a comboBox with the COM ports found on the system. I would like the mark the COM ports that are in use as such. I know that I can use try / catch blocks to attempt to open every COM port, but I was wondering if there is a more graceful way to do this. Perhaps using a WMI query? I am using Microsoft Visual C# 2008 Express Edition (.NET 2.0). Any thoughts or suggestions you may have would be appreciated. Thanks.

• git: having 2 push/pull repos in sync (or 1 push/pull and 1 pull in sync)

  Hello, We work on multiple geographically seperate sites. Today I have our git clones all live on one site A. Then users from site B have to ssh over to do a git clone or to push in changes. These are bare repos where the update is through pushes. Ideally, for git clone/push performance, I'd like to limit having to go over ssh. I'd like to have a copy of git repo X live on site A and site B... and have some syncing mechanism between them. OR to have X live on both sites, but only allow pushing to A (and have that setup correctly at clone time on B) I'm worried about the case where someone on site A pushes changes to the repo at site A at the same time that someone on site B pushes a truely conflicting change to the repo at site B. Is there some 'sync'ing solution built into git for distributed open repos like this? Or a way to have a clone from X set the origin/parent to the X from the other site? thanks, -John

• Statically Compiled Oracle Client Drivers/Code

  Hello, I'm looking to write a command-line program that can execute database scripts against an Oracle server, however the machine the program will be run on may not have an Oracle client installed on it. I also don't want to rely on a language that requires a VM as there's no guarantee that the VM will be installed, so a language like C is preferable for this. Is there a way that I can statically compile/build this program and not have to have the user install the Oracle client on that machine? I'm trying to be as unobtrusive as possible. Thanks.

  Hello all, I have three weeks to perform the following basic task. I wish to create an online form in PHP that will get 5 numbers and with them: save the numbers to a MySQL DB do a simple computation on the numbers and return them as an output to the visitor I already have a domain, hosting and a MySQL database+user. I don't know PHP, or SQL or databases. I do have prior knowledge in C and R (which means I have some of the basics of programming, and I am not intimidated of a new languages). My question are: Am I missing something? is there some other skill I should have for this task that I don't know of? What is a good way to learn the skills needed for the task I described?   Hello all, and thanks for reading. I wrote a web service which is called through jsonp, and returns a .Net 3.5 DataSet which I then want to parse using jquery. It appears that the getJson() method is working fine as far as parsing the json goes.   hello, Thanks as usual for your prompt and kind suggestions. i am currently developing a function that is meant to execute dynamically created SQL statements. this is done by concatenating the columns and fetching them via cursors. the problem is that when there is a function with a comma between its arguments, the concat concatenates the contents of the functions inclusive. Is it possible to skip contents of every bracket found in a string using REGEXP_SUBTR or REGEXP_REPLACE? Many thanks for the anticipated response.

  Hello there, I am trying to set up a private repository of Android source code while hosting the git trees on github as private repos. I have no problem changing the manifest.xml file to point to public git trees hosted on github in the same way that CynagonMod does, but when trying to point to private repos I get the following error when trying "repo sync": Initializing project username/android_external_webkit ... fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly error: Cannot fetch username/android_external_webkit Where username/android_external_webkit is of course a private github repo of the same name. I understand the error occurs since I did not specify my user name and credentials to github, but I fail to see how to do it in the manifest.xml with repo. Any ideas? Thanks! Gilad

On FF/Chrome it goes weel, and submit the form after file selection, but I can't do this on ie. Already tried with click/propertychange but nothing happens. • Loading embedded resource on Windows 7

  Hello, I have an app that works just fine on my WinXP machine. However, when I try running it on my Win7 machine, it fails whenever it tries to load an embedded resource. The resources are all there (I can see them using Reflector). The lines that fail are all of the form: Splash.Image = new Bitmap(typeof(ContainerForm).Assembly.GetManifestResourceStream("SplashTest.Resources.Logo.gif")); And they all fail with the same exception: Exception='System.ArgumentException: Parameter is not valid. at System.Drawing.Bitmap..ctor(Stream stream) I don't understand why this is not working on my Win7 machine but does on my usual WinXP dev machine. Any ideas?
