    Hello, So when your using ASP.NET Wizards to create a login, it uses a set of auto generated tables using the aspnet_regsql.exe tool... When you create a user using the wizard it generates a very long userID "a40cf936-1596-4560-a26c-450792e2c8c0" I want to add users using another program that connects to this database... but how does visual studio auto-generate this ID. I want to auto-generate it as well Any ideas? Thanks in advance. -Scott

  • What is the efficient way to make a permission system?

    Currently im just using something like: in the DB Table: access: home,register,login and then in each page: if(!Functions::has_rights('content')) { Functions::noAccess(); } is there more efficient way to do it, php & MySQL? i may want to gain access even to several parts a page, for example: user can read a page, but doesnt comment to it, and I dont want to build a separate system to each module.     I notice these characters are all illegal #%<>?\/*+|:" I notice these are encoded (%NN where NN is the hex value) but can be replace without problem $,;=& @ (note the space which is typically encoded as + (but may be %20)) #%?/+ i understand. But whats do the following characters do? <>\*|": Note: I understand what : does in the domain part (its the port) as @ is a login but after the first / why is : illegal? (@ isnt)

    I am trying to navigate form one page to another page depends upon the login. If already user logged in, Welcome page should open. Else Log in Page should open. I am trying like this. The Splash Page is the start up page.   • Not getting concept of null

    Hy Guys, Beginning with mysql. I am not able to grasp the concept of NULL. Check screen-shot (*declare_not_null, link*). In it when I specifically declared 'name' field to be NOT NULL. When i run the 'desc test' table command, the table description shows default value for name field to be NULL.Why is that so? From what I have read about NULL, it connotes a missing or information that is not applicable. So when I declare a field to be NOT NULL it implies (as per my understanding) that user must enter a value for the name field else the DB engine should generate an error i.e. record will not be entered in DB. However when i run 'insert into test value();' the DB engine enters the record in table. Check screen-shot(*empty_value, link*).     I have a simple perl script that via ftp uploads files to the server hosting our website. After I do that I have to login as a Wordpress admin and use the GUI to edit a page so that it reflects the new file I just uploaded. I want to programmatically edit that file to save a few steps, but I can't find the file. Are any Wordpress files sitting on the server? The file in question is basically a subpage of the main site.

  • Database copy between servers - user logins corrupted

    When I copy a database from one server to another via backup and restore, I find I have to recreate the users in the database. I can't login as them right after the copy - I get cannot open default database, when the database that was just copied is the default database. Why is this? The logins exist on the target copy server.
