  • Making a Text-To-Speech Wrapper in Android

    - by John Montgomery
    I am attempting to create a wrapper class for Google Android's Text-To-Speech functionality. However, I'm having trouble finding a way to have the system pause until after the onInit function has finished. Attached at the bottom is something of a solution I created based on what I found here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1160876/android-speech-how-can-you-read-text-in-android However, this solution does not seem to work. Any thoughts on why this might not be working, or what would be a good idea in order to make sure that any Speak() calls happen after my onInit() call? public class SpeechSynth implements OnInitListener { private TextToSpeech tts; static final int TTS_CHECK_CODE = 0; private int ready = 0; private ReentrantLock waitForInitLock = new ReentrantLock(); SpeechSynth( Activity screen ) { ready = 0; tts = new TextToSpeech( screen, this ); waitForInitLock.lock(); } public void onInit(int status) { if (status == TextToSpeech.SUCCESS) { ready = 1; } waitForInitLock.unlock(); } public int Speak( String text ) { if( ready == 1 ) { tts.speak(text, TextToSpeech.QUEUE_ADD, null); return 1; } else { return 0; } } } I have been able to make it so that I can pass a string of text through the constructor, then have it played in the onInit() function. However, I would really like to avoid having to destroy and re-create the whole text-to-speech engine every time I need to have my program say something different.

  • Example usage of a custom delegate in c#

    - by Freakishly
    Hi, I found this question on SO about a tree implementation in C#. I have no idea about delegates and I was wondering how the following code could be used to implement a tree. Also, what would be the most efficient way to keep a track of parent nodes? delegate void TreeVisitor<T>(T nodeData); class NTree<T> { T data; LinkedList<NTree<T>> children; public NTree(T data) { this.data = data; children = new LinkedList<NTree<T>>(); } public void addChild(T data) { children.AddFirst(new NTree<T>(data)); } public NTree<T> getChild(int i) { foreach (NTree<T> n in children) if (--i == 0) return n; return null; } public void traverse(NTree<T> node, TreeVisitor<T> visitor) { visitor(node.data); foreach (NTree<T> kid in node.children) traverse(kid, visitor); } }

  • Finding duplicate rows in SQL Server

    - by xtine
    I have a SQL Server database of organizations, and there are many duplicate rows. I want to run a select statement to grab all of these and the amount of dupes, but also return the ids that are associated with each organization. A statement like: SELECT orgName, COUNT(*) AS dupes FROM organizations GROUP BY orgName HAVING (COUNT(*) > 1) Will return something like orgName | dupes ABC Corp | 7 Foo Federation | 5 Widget Company | 2 But I'd also like to grab the IDs of them. Is there any way to do this? Maybe like a orgName | dupeCount | id ABC Corp | 1 | 34 ABC Corp | 2 | 5 ... Widget Company | 1 | 10 Widget Company | 2 | 2 The reason being that there is also a separate table of users that link to these organizations, and I would like to unify them (therefore remove dupes so the users link to the same organization instead of dupe orgs). But I would like part manually so I don't screw anything up, but I would still need a statement returning the IDs of all the dupe orgs so I can go through the list of users. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

  • how to use a regex to search backwards effectively?

    - by Asaf
    hi, i'm searching forward in an array of strings with a regex, like this: for (int j = line; j < lines.length; j++) { if (lines[j] == null || lines[j].isEmpty()) { continue; } matcher = pattern.matcher(lines[j]); if (matcher.find(offset)) { offset = matcher.end(); line = j; System.out.println("found \""+matcher.group()+"\" at line "+line+" ["+matcher.start()+","+offset+"]"); return true; } offset = 0; } return false; note that in my implementation above i save the line and offset for continuous searches. anyway, now i want to search backwards from that [line,offset]. my question: is there a way to search backwards with a regex efficiently? if not, what could be an alternative? 10x, asaf :-) clarification: by backwards i mean finding the previous match. for example, say that i'm searching for "dana" in "dana nama? dana kama! lama dana kama?" and got to the 2nd match. if i do matcher.find() again, i'll search forward and get the 3rd match. but i want to seach backwards and get to the 1st match. the code above should then output something like: found "dana" at line 0 [0,3] // fwd found "dana" at line 0 [11,14] // fwd found "dana" at line 0 [0,3] // bwd

  • Convert RGB value to HSV

    - by marionmaiden
    I've found a method on the Internet to convert RGB values to HSV values. Unfortunately, when the values are R=G=B, I'm getting a NaN, because of the 0/0 operation. Do you know if there is an implemented method for this conversion in Java, or what do I have to do when I get the 0/0 division to get the right value of the HSV? Here comes my method, adapted from some code on the Internet: public static double[] RGBtoHSV(double r, double g, double b){ double h, s, v; double min, max, delta; min = Math.min(Math.min(r, g), b); max = Math.max(Math.max(r, g), b); // V v = max; delta = max - min; // S if( max != 0 ) s = delta / max; else { s = 0; h = -1; return new double[]{h,s,v}; } // H if( r == max ) h = ( g - b ) / delta; // between yellow & magenta else if( g == max ) h = 2 + ( b - r ) / delta; // between cyan & yellow else h = 4 + ( r - g ) / delta; // between magenta & cyan h *= 60; // degrees if( h < 0 ) h += 360; return new double[]{h,s,v}; }

  • jQuery AutoComplete Plugin not working for JSON Response (sValue.substring is not a function)

    - by Sunday Ironfoot
    I'm trying to use the autocomplete plugin for jQuery (this one http://docs.jquery.com/Plugins/Autocomplete). My server is returning JSON string, which I'm trying to process on the client via AutoComplete plugin's 'parse' and 'formatItem' parameters, like so: $(document).ready(function() { $('.searchBox input.textbox').autocomplete('/DoSearch.aspx', { mustMatch: false, autoFill: true, minChars: 1, dataType: 'json', parse: function(data) { var array = new Array(); for (var i = 0; i < data.length; i++) { array[array.length] = { data: data[i], value: data[i].ID, result: data[i].ID }; } return array; }, formatItem: function(row, i, n) { return row.ID + ': ' + row.Title; } }); }); When I run this I get a 'sValue.substring is not a function' error thrown in Firebug. However, if I stick breakpoints on formatItem and parse function, they are hit as expected and contain valid data it seems. Here is an exact copy 'n' paste of the JSON text that gets returned from the server: [{"ID":140177,"Title":"Food Handling","Code":"J01.576.423.200"},{"ID":140178,"Title":"Food Handling","Code":"J01.576.423.200"},{"ID":140179,"Title":"Brain Infarction","Code":"C10.228.140.300.301.200"},{"ID":140180,"Title":"Cerebral Hemorrhage","Code":"C10.228.140.300.535.200"},{"ID":140182,"Title":"Insulin","Code":"D06.472.610.575"},{"ID":140183,"Title":"Insulin","Code":"D06.472.610.575"},{"ID":140184,"Title":"Insulin","Code":"D06.472.610.575"},{"ID":140186,"Title":"Insulin","Code":"D06.472.610.575"},{"ID":140188,"Title":"Insulin","Code":"D06.472.610.575"},{"ID":140189,"Title":"Sulfonylurea Compounds","Code":"D02.886.590.795"}] Please help, I've already searched Google and StackOverflow for help, but can't find anyone having else this error, cheers!

  • local variable 'sresult' referenced before assignment

  • Hibernate: "Field 'id' doesn't have a default value"

    - by André Neves
    Hi, all. I'm facing what I think is a simple problem with Hibernate, but can't get over it (Hibernate forums being unreachable certainly doesn't help). I have a simple class I'd like to persist, but keep getting: SEVERE: Field 'id' doesn't have a default value Exception in thread "main" org.hibernate.exception.GenericJDBCException: could not insert: [hibtest.model.Mensagem] at org.hibernate.exception.SQLStateConverter.handledNonSpecificException(SQLStateConverter.java:103) at org.hibernate.exception.SQLStateConverter.convert(SQLStateConverter.java:91) [ a bunch more ] Caused by: java.sql.SQLException: Field 'id' doesn't have a default value [ a bunch more ] The relevant code for the persisted class is: package hibtest.model; import javax.persistence.Entity; import javax.persistence.GeneratedValue; import javax.persistence.Id; import javax.persistence.Inheritance; import javax.persistence.InheritanceType; @Entity @Inheritance(strategy = InheritanceType.JOINED) public class Mensagem { protected Long id; protected Mensagem() { } @Id @GeneratedValue public Long getId() { return id; } public Mensagem setId(Long id) { this.id = id; return this; } } And the actual running code is just plain: SessionFactory factory = new AnnotationConfiguration() .configure() .buildSessionFactory(); { Session session = factory.openSession(); Transaction tx = session.beginTransaction(); Mensagem msg = new Mensagem("YARR!"); session.save(msg); tx.commit(); session.close(); } I tried some "strategies" within the GeneratedValue annotation but it just doesn't seem to work. Initializing id doesn't help either! (eg Long id = 20L). Could anyone shed some light? EDIT 2: confirmed: messing with@GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.XXX) doesn't solve it SOLVED: recreating the database solved the problem

  • JEE6 Global JNDI Name and Maven Deployment

    - by wobblycogs
    I'm having some problems with the global JNDI names of my EJB resources which is (or at least will) cause my JNDI look ups to fail. The project is being developed on Netbeans and is a standard Maven Web Application. When my application is deployed to GF3.0 the application name is set to something like: com.example_myapp_war_1.0-SNAPSHOT which is all well and good from Netbeans point of view because it ensures the name is unique but it also means all the EJBs get global names such as this: java:global/com.example_myapp_war_1.0-SNAPSHOT/CustomerService This, of course, is going to cause problems because every time the version changes all the global names change (I've tested this by changing the version and the names indeed changed). The name is being generated from the POM file and it's a concatenation of: <groupId>com.example</groupId> <artifactId>myapp</artifactId> <packaging>war</packaging> <version>1.0-SNAPSHOT</version> Up until now I've got away with just injecting all the resources using @EJB but now I need to access the CustomerService EJB from a JSF Converter so I'm doing a JNDI look up like this: try { Context ctx = new InitialContext(); CustomerService customerService = (CustomerService)ctx.lookup( "java:global/com.example_myapp_war_1.0-SNAPSHOT/CustomerService" ); return customerService.get(submittedValue); } catch( Exception e ) { logger.error( "Failed to convert customer.", e ); return null; } which will clearly break when the application is properly released and the module name changes. So, the million dollar question: how can I set the modle name in maven or how do I recover the module name so that I can programatically build the JNDI name at runtile. I've tried setting it in the web.xml file as suggested by that link but it was ignored. I think I'd rather build the name at runtime as that means there is less scope for screw ups when the application is deployed. Many thanks for any help, I've been tearing my hair out all day on this.

  • iPhone: Memory leak when using NSOperationQueue...

    - by MacTouch
    Hi, I'm sitting here for at least half an hour to find a memory leak in my code. I just replaced an synchronous call to a (touch) method with an asynchronous one using NSOperationQueue. The Leak Inspector reports a memory leak after I did the change to the code. What's wrong with the version using NSOperationQueue? Version without a MemoryLeak -(NSData *)dataForKey:(NSString*)ressourceId_ { NSString *path = [self cachePathForKey:ressourceId_]; // returns an autoreleased NSString* NSString *cacheKey = [self cacheKeyForRessource:ressourceId_]; // returns an autoreleased NSString* NSData *data = [[self memoryCache] valueForKey:cacheKey]; if (!data) { data = [self loadData:path]; // returns an autoreleased NSData* if (data) { [[self memoryCache] setObject:data forKey:cacheKey]; } } [[self touch:path]; return data; } Version with a MemoryLeak (I do not see any) -(NSData *)dataForKey:(NSString*)ressourceId_ { NSString *path = [self cachePathForKey:ressourceId_]; // returns an autoreleased NSString* NSString *cacheKey = [self cacheKeyForRessource:ressourceId_]; // returns an autoreleased NSString* NSData *data = [[self memoryCache] valueForKey:cacheKey]; if (!data) { data = [self loadData:path]; // returns an autoreleased NSData* if (data) { [[self memoryCache] setObject:data forKey:cacheKey]; } } NSInvocationOperation *touchOp = [[NSInvocationOperation alloc] initWithTarget:self selector:@selector(touch:) object:path]; [[self operationQueue] addOperation:touchOp]; [touchOp release]; return data; } And of course, the touch method does nothing special too. Just change the date of the file. -(void)touch:(id)path_ { NSString *path = (NSString *)path_ NSFileManager *fm = [NSFileManager defaultManager]; if ([fm fileExistsAtPath:path]) { NSDictionary *attributes = [NSDictionary dictionaryWithObjectsAndKeys:[NSDate date], NSFileModificationDate, nil]; [fm setAttributes: attributes ofItemAtPath:path error:nil]; } }

  • Sort List C# in arbitrary order

    - by Jasper
    I have a C# List I.E. List<Food> x = new List<Food> () ; This list is populated with this class Public class Food { public string id { get; set; } public string idUser { get; set; } public string idType { get; set; } //idType could be Fruit , Meat , Vegetable , Candy public string location { get; set; } } Now i have this unsorted List<Food> list ; which has I.E. 15 elements. There are 8 Vegetable Types , 3 Fruit Types , 1 Meat Types , 1 Candy Types I would sort this so that to have a list ordered in this way : 1° : Food.idType Fruit 2° : Food.idType Vegetables 3° : Food.idType Meat 4° : Food.idType Candy 5° : Food.idType Fruit 6° : Food.idType Vegetables 7° : Food.idType Fruit //Becouse there isnt more Meat so i insert the //next one which is Candy but also this type is empty //so i start from begin : Fruit 8° : Food.idType Vegetables 9° : Food.idType Vegetables // For the same reason of 7° 10 ° Food.idType Vegetables ...... .... .... 15 : Food.idType Vegetables I cant find a rule to do this. Is there a linq or List.Sort instruction which help me to order the list in this way? Update i changed the return value of idType and now return int type instead string so 1=Vegetable , 2=Fruit , 3=Candy 4=Meat

  • XMPP SASL authentication on Ejabberd with PHP

    - by bucabay
    I'm trying to authenticate with an XMPP server using SASL. /** * Send Authentication, SASL * @return Bool * @param $username String * @param $password String */ function authenticate($username, $password) { $this->username = $username; $this->password = $password; var_dump($username, $password, $this->domain); $auth = base64_encode($username.'@'.$this->domain."\u0000".$username."\u0000".$password); $xml = '<auth mechanism="PLAIN" xmlns="urn:ietf:params:xml:ns:xmpp-sasl">'.$auth.'</auth>'; if ($this->write($xml)) { if ($xml = $this->listen(1, true)) { if (preg_match("/<success/i", $xml)) { $this->authenticated = $this->_sendStream(); } } } $this->events->trigger('authenticate', $this->authenticated); return $this->authenticated; } The XMPP server however responds with: <failure xmlns='urn:ietf:params:xml:ns:xmpp-sasl'><bad-protocol/></failure> This is against an Ejabberd server. When I open the XMPP stream, it advertises: <stream:features><starttls xmlns='urn:ietf:params:xml:ns:xmpp-tls'/><mechanisms xmlns='urn:ietf:params:xml:ns:xmpp-sasl'><mechanism>DIGEST-MD5</mechanism><mechanism>PLAIN</mechanism></mechanisms><register xmlns='http://jabber.org/features/iq-register'/></stream:features> So it seams to me that SASL - PLAIN should work. I have a JavaScript version, that works perfectly on OpenFire server. (I can't test it on Ejabberd at the moment) sendAuthentication: function() { clearTimeout(XMPP.sendAuthentication_timer); var auth = Base64.encode(XMPP.username+'@'+XMPP.domain+'\u0000'+XMPP.username+'\u0000'+XMPP.password); mySocket.events.receive.observe(XMPP.receivedAuthSuccess, function() { mySocket.send('<auth mechanism="PLAIN" xmlns="urn:ietf:params:xml:ns:xmpp-sasl">' + auth + '</auth>'); }); } So I can't get why the PHP version is not working.

  • Hibernate: how to call a stored function returning a varchar?

    - by Péter Török
    I am trying to call a legacy stored function in an Oracle9i DB from Java using Hibernate. The function is declared like this: create or replace FUNCTION Transferlocation_Fix (mnemonic_code IN VARCHAR2) RETURN VARCHAR2 After several failed tries and extensive googling, I found this thread on the Hibernate forums which suggested a mapping like this: <sql-query name="TransferLocationFix" callable="true"> <return-scalar column="retVal" type="string"/> select Transferlocation_Fix(:mnemonic) as retVal from dual </sql-query> My code to execute it is Query query = session.getNamedQuery("TransferLocationFix"); query.setParameter("mnemonic", "FC3"); String result = (String) query.uniqueResult(); and the resulting log is DEBUG (org.hibernate.jdbc.AbstractBatcher:366) - - about to open PreparedStatement (open PreparedStatements: 0, globally: 0) DEBUG (org.hibernate.SQL:401) - - select Transferlocation_Fix(?) as retVal from dual TRACE (org.hibernate.jdbc.AbstractBatcher:484) - - preparing statement TRACE (org.hibernate.type.StringType:133) - - binding 'FC3' to parameter: 2 TRACE (org.hibernate.type.StringType:133) - - binding 'FC3' to parameter: 2 java.lang.NullPointerException at oracle.jdbc.ttc7.TTCAdapter.newTTCType(TTCAdapter.java:300) at oracle.jdbc.ttc7.TTCAdapter.createNonPlsqlTTCColumnArray(TTCAdapter.java:270) at oracle.jdbc.ttc7.TTCAdapter.createNonPlsqlTTCDataSet(TTCAdapter.java:231) at oracle.jdbc.ttc7.TTC7Protocol.doOall7(TTC7Protocol.java:1924) at oracle.jdbc.ttc7.TTC7Protocol.parseExecuteDescribe(TTC7Protocol.java:850) at oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleStatement.doExecuteQuery(OracleStatement.java:2599) at oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleStatement.doExecuteWithTimeout(OracleStatement.java:2963) at oracle.jdbc.driver.OraclePreparedStatement.executeUpdate(OraclePreparedStatement.java:658) at oracle.jdbc.driver.OraclePreparedStatement.execute(OraclePreparedStatement.java:736) at com.mchange.v2.c3p0.impl.NewProxyCallableStatement.execute(NewProxyCallableStatement.java:3044) at org.hibernate.dialect.Oracle8iDialect.getResultSet(Oracle8iDialect.java:379) at org.hibernate.jdbc.AbstractBatcher.getResultSet(AbstractBatcher.java:193) at org.hibernate.loader.Loader.getResultSet(Loader.java:1784) at org.hibernate.loader.Loader.doQuery(Loader.java:674) at org.hibernate.loader.Loader.doQueryAndInitializeNonLazyCollections(Loader.java:236) at org.hibernate.loader.Loader.doList(Loader.java:2220) at org.hibernate.loader.Loader.listIgnoreQueryCache(Loader.java:2104) at org.hibernate.loader.Loader.list(Loader.java:2099) at org.hibernate.loader.custom.CustomLoader.list(CustomLoader.java:289) at org.hibernate.impl.SessionImpl.listCustomQuery(SessionImpl.java:1695) at org.hibernate.impl.AbstractSessionImpl.list(AbstractSessionImpl.java:142) at org.hibernate.impl.SQLQueryImpl.list(SQLQueryImpl.java:152) at org.hibernate.impl.AbstractQueryImpl.uniqueResult(AbstractQueryImpl.java:811) at com.my.project.SomeClass.method(SomeClass.java:202) ... • spring 3 AOP anotated advises

    - by Art79
    Trying to figure out how to Proxy my beans with AOP advices in annotated way. I have a simple class @Service public class RestSampleDao { @MonitorTimer public Collection<User> getUsers(){ .... return users; } } i have created custom annotation for monitoring execution time @Target({ ElementType.METHOD, ElementType.TYPE }) @Retention(RetentionPolicy.RUNTIME) public @interface MonitorTimer { } and advise to do some fake monitoring public class MonitorTimerAdvice implements MethodInterceptor { public Object invoke(MethodInvocation invocation) throws Throwable{ try { long start = System.currentTimeMillis(); Object retVal = invocation.proceed(); long end = System.currentTimeMillis(); long differenceMs = end - start; System.out.println("\ncall took " + differenceMs + " ms "); return retVal; } catch(Throwable t){ System.out.println("\nerror occured"); throw t; } } } now i can use it if i manually proxy the instance of dao like this AnnotationMatchingPointcut pc = new AnnotationMatchingPointcut(null, MonitorTimer.class); Advisor advisor = new DefaultPointcutAdvisor(pc, new MonitorTimerAdvice()); ProxyFactory pf = new ProxyFactory(); pf.setTarget( sampleDao ); pf.addAdvisor(advisor); RestSampleDao proxy = (RestSampleDao) pf.getProxy(); mv.addObject( proxy.getUsers() ); but how do i set it up in Spring so that my custom annotated methods would get proxied by this interceptor automatically? i would like to inject proxied samepleDao instead of real one. Can that be done without xml configurations? i think should be possible to just annotate methods i want to intercept and spring DI would proxy what is necessary. or do i have to use aspectj for that? would prefere simplest solution :- ) thanks a lot for help!

NSString *UDID = md5([UIDevice currentDevice].uniqueIdentifier); NSString *filename = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@-%@", UDID, [NSDate date]]; NSString *urlString = @"http://taptation.com/stationary_data/index.php"; request= [[[NSMutableURLRequest alloc] init] autorelease]; [request setURL:[NSURL URLWithString:urlString]]; [request setHTTPMethod:@"POST"]; NSString *boundary = @"---------------------------14737809831466499882746641449"; NSString *contentType = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"multipart/form-data; boundary=%@",boundary]; [request addValue:contentType forHTTPHeaderField: @"Content-Type"]; NSMutableData *postbody = [NSMutableData data]; [postbody appendData:[[NSString stringWithFormat:@"\r\n--%@\r\n",boundary] dataUsingEncoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]]; [postbody appendData:[[NSString stringWithFormat:@"Content-Disposition: form-data; name=\"userfile\"; filename=\"%@.jpg\"\r\n", filename] dataUsingEncoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]]; [postbody appendData:[[NSString stringWithString:@"Content-Type: application/octet-stream\r\n\r\n"] dataUsingEncoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]]; [postbody appendData:[NSData dataWithData:imageData]]; [postbody appendData:[[NSString stringWithFormat:@"\r\n--%@--\r\n",boundary] dataUsingEncoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]]; [request setHTTPBody:postbody]; NSData *returnData = [NSURLConnection sendSynchronousRequest:request returningResponse:nil error:nil]; returnString = [[NSString alloc] initWithData:returnData encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]; NSLog(returnString); However, when I try to convert this to work with Image Shacks XML API, it doesn't return anything. The directions from ImageShack are below. Send the following variables via POST to imageshack. us /index.php fileupload; (the image) xml = "yes"; (specifies the return of XML) cookie; (registration code, optional) Does anyone know where I should go from here?

  • Static factory pattern with EJB3/JBoss

    - by purecharger
    I'm fairly new to EJBs and full blown application servers like JBoss, having written and worked with special purpose standalone Java applications for most of my career, with limited use of JEE. I'm wondering about the best way to adapt a commonly used design pattern to EJB3 and JBoss: the static factory pattern. In fact this is Item #1 in Joshua Bloch's Effective Java book (2nd edition) I'm currently working with the following factory: public class CredentialsProcessorFactory { private static final Log log = LogFactory.getLog(CredentialsProcessorFactory.class); private static Map<CredentialsType, CredentialsProcessor> PROCESSORS = new HashMap<CredentialsType, CredentialsProcessor>(); static { PROCESSORS.put(CredentialsType.CSV, new CSVCredentialsProcessor()); } private CredentialsProcessorFactory() {} public static CredentialsProcessor getProcessor(CredentialsType type) { CredentialsProcessor p = PROCESSORS.get(type); if(p == null) throw new IllegalArgumentException("No CredentialsProcessor registered for type " + type.toString()); return p; } However, in the implementation classes of CredentialsProcessor, I require injected resources such as a PersistenceContext, so I have made the CredentialsProcessor interface a @Local interface, and each of the impl's marked with @Stateless. Now I can look them up in JNDI and use the injected resources. But now I have a disconnect because I am not using the factory anymore. My first thought was to change the getProcessor(CredentialsType) method to do a JNDI lookup and return the SLSB instance that is required, but then I need to configure and pass the proper qualified JNDI name. Before I go down that path, I wanted to do more research on accepted practices. How is this design pattern treated in EJB3 / JEE?

  • Castle MonoRail ARDataBind trying to bind to non-existent row

    - by dave thieben
    I have a shopping cart application running on MonoRail and using Castle ActiveRecord/NHibernate, and there is a ShoppingCart table and a ShoppingCartItems table, which are mapped to entities. Here's the scenario: a user adds things to the shopping cart, say 5 items, and goes to view the cart. The cart shows all 5 items. the user duplicates the tab/window and gets another tab of the same cart (call it tab B). the user removes an item from the cart, so now there are 4 items in tab B, but in the original tab A, there are still 5 items. the user goes back to tab A, and updates something in the cart and clicks the "update" button which submits the changes. my MonoRail action tries to do an ARDataBind on ShoppingCartItems using the data from the view, which includes all 5 items. when it gets to the item that the user deleted from tab B, it throws a "No row with the given identifier exists" for that item. I can't figure out if there is a way to have it not bind that row, return null, return new instance, etc.? there is an AutoLoadBehavior parameter on the ARDataBind attribute, but that appears to only affect loading of child entities, and not the root entity. regardless of which option I choose, I get the exception before control even enters the action method (except AutoLoadBehavior.Never, but that doesn't really help me). instead, I have code that calls Request.ObtainParamsNode() to pull the form nodes and parse them manually into objects, and ignores the ones that no longer exist. is there a better way? thanks.

  • -[CFString length]: message sent to deallocated instance 0x3881940 when i scroll to near the bottom

    - by James
    Hey guys, i've got a problem debugging an iphone app that i'm attempting to write and it's got me stumped, bear with me, i'm a n00b to programming and might get some of the terminology wrong but i'll try to explain it as best as i can. The app gets an XML doc from the a web site, parses it into an array, and then displays it in a table view, i have the parser in a separate file. The ViewDidLoad in RootViewController sends it a url, the parser goes to work and then returns an NSMutableArray. When i run the app it works fine with small XML files (5 entries or so, and 1-3 sections), but when i use a larger one(20+ rows, over 12 sections) i get the error "-[CFString length]: message sent to deallocated instance 0x3881940" when i scroll near the bottom of the tableview, just as the last section title is about to come onto the viewable area on the screen to be precise. if i return a static string instead of the object in my array in this method it doesn't crash, but i can use NSLog to call the array and it returns the title no problems. - (NSString *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView titleForHeaderInSection:(NSInteger)indexPath { return [[returnedEvents objectAtIndex:indexPath ] objectAtIndex:0]; } The returnedEvents array isn't released until -(void) dealloc {} I have read a few other posts on here, and a few guides on debugging and as of yet am unable to find anything that was able to help me, i'd be more than happy to post some code up here and any more information, i'm just not sure where to start... Thanks in advance for anyone willing to have a go at helping me out.

  • java converting int to short

    - by changed
    Hi I am calculating 16 bit checksum on my data which i need to send to server where it has to recalculate and match with the provided checksum. Checksum value that i am getting is in int but i have only 2 bytes for sending the value.So i am casting int to short while calling shortToBytes method. This works fine till checksum value is less than 32767 thereafter i am getting negative values. Thing is java does not have unsigned primitives, so i am not able to send values greater than max value of signed short allowed. How can i do this, converting int to short and send over the network without worrying about truncation and signed & unsigned int. Also on both the side i have java program running. private byte[] shortToBytes(short sh) { byte[] baValue = new byte[2]; ByteBuffer buf = ByteBuffer.wrap(baValue); return buf.putShort(sh).array(); } private short bytesToShort(byte[] buf, int offset) { byte[] baValue = new byte[2]; System.arraycopy(buf, offset, baValue, 0, 2); return ByteBuffer.wrap(baValue).getShort(); }

  • Syntax Error with John Resig's Micro Templating after changing template tags <# {% {{ etc..

    - by optician
    I'm having a bit of trouble with John Resig's Micro templating. Can anyone help me with why it isn't working? This is the template <script type="text/html" id="row_tmpl"> test content {%=id%} {%=name%} </script> And the modified section of the engine str .replace(/[\r\t\n]/g, " ") .split("{%").join("\t") .replace(/((^|%>)[^\t]*)'/g, "$1\r") .replace(/\t=(.*?)%>/g, "',$1,'") .split("\t").join("');") .split("%}").join("p.push('") .split("\r").join("\\'") + "');}return p.join('');"); and the javascript var dataObject = { "id": "27", "name": "some more content" }; var html = tmpl("row_tmpl", dataObject); and the result, as you can see =id and =name seem to be in the wrong place? Apart from changing the template syntax blocks from <% % to {% %} I haven't changed anything. This is from Firefox. Error: syntax error Line: 30, Column: 89 Source Code: var p=[],print=function(){p.push.apply(p,arguments);};with(obj){p.push(' test content ');=idp.push(' ');=namep.push(' ');}return p.join('');

  • Trouble converting an MP3 file to a WAV file using Naudio

    - by WebDevHobo
    Naudio Library: http://naudio.codeplex.com/ I'm trying to convert an MP3 file to a WAV file, but I've run in to a small error. I know what's going wrong, but I don't really know how to go about fixing it. Here's the piece of code I'm running: private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { using(Mp3FileReader reader = new Mp3FileReader(@"path\to\MP3")) { using(WaveFileWriter writer = new WaveFileWriter(@"C:\test.wav", new WaveFormat())) { int counter = 0; while(reader.Read(test, counter, test.Length + counter) != 0) { writer.WriteData(test, counter, test.Length + counter); counter += 512; } } } } reader.Read() goes into the Mp3FileReader class, and the method looks like this: public override int Read(byte[] sampleBuffer, int offset, int numBytes) { if (numBytes % waveFormat.BlockAlign != 0) //throw new ApplicationException("Must read complete blocks"); numBytes -= (numBytes % waveFormat.BlockAlign); return mp3Stream.Read(sampleBuffer, offset, numBytes); } mp3Stream is an object of the Stream class. The problem is: I'm getting an ArgumentException. MSDN says that this is because the sum of offset and numBytes is greater than the length of sampleBuffer. Documentation: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.io.stream.read.aspx This happens because I increase the counter every time, but the size of the byte array test remains the same. What I've been wondering is: do I need to increase the size of the array dynamically, or do I need to find out the needed size at the beginning and set it right away? And also, instead of 512, the method in Mp3FileReader returns 365 the first time. Which is the size of a whole block. But I'm writing the full 512. I'm basically just using the read to check if I'm not at the end of the file yet. Do I need to catch the return value and do something with that, or am I good here?

  • Why does text from Assembly.GetManifestResourceStream() start with three junk characters?

    - by flipdoubt
    I have a SQL file added to my VS.NET 2008 project as an embedded resource. Whenever I use the following code to read the file's content, the string returned always starts with three junk characters and then the text I expect. I assume this has something to do with the Encoding.Default I am using, but that is just a guess. Why does this text keep showing up? Should I just trim off the first three characters or is there a more informed approach? public string GetUpdateRestoreSchemaScript() { var type = GetType(); var a = Assembly.GetAssembly(type); var script = "UpdateRestoreSchema.sql"; var resourceName = String.Concat(type.Namespace, ".", script); using(Stream stream = a.GetManifestResourceStream(resourceName)) { byte[] buffer = new byte[stream.Length]; stream.Read(buffer, 0, buffer.Length); // UPDATE: Should be Encoding.UTF8 return Encoding.Default.GetString(buffer); } } Update: I now know that my code works as expected if I simply change the last line to return a UTF-8 encoded string. It will always be true for this embedded file, but will it always be true? Is there a way to test any buffer to determine its encoding?

  • Map/Reduce on an array of hashes in CouchDB

    - by sebastiangeiger
    Hello everyone, I am looking for a map/reduce function to calculate the status in a Design Document. Below you can see an example document from my current database. { "_id": "0238f1414f2f95a47266ca43709a6591", "_rev": "22-24a741981b4de71f33cc70c7e5744442", "status": "retrieved image urls", "term": "Lucas Winter", "urls": [ { "status": "retrieved", "url": "http://...." }, { "status": "retrieved", "url": "http://..." } ], "search_depth": 1, "possible_labels": { "gender": "male" }, "couchrest-type": "SearchTerm" } I'd like to get rid of the status key and rather calculate it from the statuses of the urls. My current by_status view looks like the following: function(doc) { if (doc['status']) { emit(doc['status'], null); } } I tried some things but nothing actually works. Right now my Map Function looks like this: function(doc) { if(doc.urls){ emit(doc._id, doc.urls) } } And my Reduce Function function(key, value, rereduce){ var reduced_status = "retrieved" for(var url in value){ if(url.status=="new"){ reduced_status = "new"; } } return reduced_status; } The result is that I get retrieved everywhere which is definitely not right. I tried to narrow down the problem and it seems to be that value is no array, when I use the following Reduce Function I get length 1 everywhere, which is impossible because I have 12 documents in my database, each containing between 20 to 200 urls function(key, value, rereduce){ return value.length; } What am I doing wrong? (I know I want you to write code for me and I'm feeling guilty, but right now I do the calculation of the statuses in ruby after getting the data from the database. It would be nice to already get the right data from the database)
