• Problem loading Oracle client libraries when running in a NAnt build

  I am trying to use dbdeploy to manage Oracle schema changes. I can run it successfully from the command line to get it to generate my change scripts, but when I try to execute it via the dbdeploy NAnt task running through TeamCity, I get an error: System.Data.OracleClient requires Oracle client software version 8.1.7 or greater. I do have the Oracle 10.2.0.2 client software installed. It's the first entry in the system path, and the dbdeploy.exe app is able to successfully negotiate an Oracle connection. The dbdeploy code dynamically loads the System.Data.OracleClient assembly, which in-turn tries to use the Oracle client bits to talk to the database. This is what is failing in my NAnt environment. • Really slow obtaining font metrics.

  So the problem I have is that I start my application by displaying a simple menu. To size and align the text correctly I need to obtain font metrics and I cannot find a way to do it quickly. I tested my program and it looks like whatever method I use to obtain font metrics the first call takes over 500 milliseconds!? Because of it the time it takes to start-up my application is much longer than necessary. I don't know if it is platform specific or not, but just in case, I'm using Mac OS 10.6.2 on MacBook Pro (hardware isn't an issue here). If you know a way of obtaining font metrics quicker please help.   I'm using linq to SQL and MVC2 with data annotations and I'm having some problems on validation of some types. I have the same problem with a DateTime, which i want the users to write in the specific form 'dd/MM/yyyy' and i have a regex for that. but again, by the time the data-annotations do their job, all i get is a DateTime Object, and not the original string. So if the input is not a date, the regex does not even run, cos the data annotations just get a null, cos the model binder couldn't make it to a DateTime. Does anyone have an idea how to make this work?

  pyscripter 2.5.3.0 x64, python 2.7.7 anaconda 2.0.1, windows 7 I was using pyscripter and EPD python happily in 32 bit, no problem. Just changed to 64 bit anaconda version and re-installed everything but now pyscripter cannot import rpyc -- it runs with internal engine (no anaconda), but no such error in pure python. • Why is my Android app camera preview running out of memory on my AVD?

  I have yet to try this on an actual device, but expect similar results. Anyway, long story short, whenever I run my app on the emulator, it crashes due to an out of memory exception. My code really is essentially the same as the camera preview API demo from google, which runs perfectly fine. • Using MSADO15.DLL and C++ with MinGW/GCC on Windows Vista

  INTRODUCTION Hi, I am very new to C++, is my 1st statement. I have started initially with VC++ 2008 Express, I've notice that GCC becomes kind of standard so I am trying to make the right steps event from the beginning. I have written a piece of code that connects to MSSQL Server via ADO, on VC++ it's working like a charm by importing MSADO15.dll: #import "msado15.dll" no_namespace rename("EOF", "EndOfFile") Because I am going to move from VC++ I was looking for an alternative (eventually multi-platform) IDE, so I stick (for this time) with Code::Block (I'm using last nightly buil, SVN 6181). As compiler I choose to use GCC 3.4.5 (ported via MinGW 5.1.6), under Vista. I was trying to compile a simple "hello world" application with GCC that use/import the same msado15.dll (#import "c:\Program Files\Common Files\System\ADO\msado15.dll" no_namespace rename("EOF", "EndOfFile")) and I was surprised to see a lot of compile-time errors. I was expected that the #import compiler's directive will generate a library from "msado15.dll" so it can link to it later (link-edit time or whatever). Basically, the QuickFix component provides a list of solutions and my task is to select the best possible fix and apply it to the buggy code. • GPS on emulator doesn't get the geo fix - Android

  Hi I'm developing an application for the android OS, I'm just starting, but I can't get the GPS on the emulator to work. I've read on the internet that you need to send a geo fix to the emulator in order to enable the gps locationProvider.   I'm trying to get data from file. The file first has three lines of text that describes the file, then there is a header for the data below. I've managed to extract that. What I'm having problems is getting the data below the header line. The data below the header line can look like "1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 abc".   I wanted to learn how to create python packages, so I visited http://docs.python.org/distutils/index.html. For this exercise I'm using Python 2.6.2 on Windows XP. I followed along with the simple example and created a small test project: person/ setup.py person/ __init__.py person.py My person.py file is simple: class Person(object): def __init__(self, name="", age=0): self.name = name self.age = age def sound_off(self): print "%s %d" % (self.name, self.age) And my setup.py file is: from distutils.core import setup setup(name='person', version='0.1', packages=['person'], ) I ran python setup.py sdist and it created MANIFEST, dist/ and build/. Next I ran python setup.py install and it installed it to my site packages directory. I run the python console and can import the person module, but I cannot import the Person class. >>>import person >>>from person import Person Traceback (most recent call last): File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module> ImportError: cannot import name Person I checked the files added to site-packages and checked the sys.path in the console, they seem ok. Why can't I import the Person class. Where did I go wrong?

  When using a SAX parser, parsing fails when there is a " in the node content. How can I resolve this? Do I need to convert all " characters? In other words, anytime I have a quote in a node: <node>characters in node containing "quotes"</node> That node gets butchered into multiple character arrays when the Handler is parsing it. Is this normal behaviour? Why should quotes cause such a problem?   Hey guys, I have a weird problem. I have an update system that refreshes data on a time interval. It works well in all browsers except internet explorer 8. The problem is that once it loads the data, it does not matter if the data updates further, it will not update the data visually until the internet history is cleared. I am not using any cookies server-side...Anyone ever encounter something like this? The border placed around a Scrollpane wrapped text area does not match that of a Text Field. The width and placement of the textarea/textfield differ, causing them not to line up correctly. • Creating and publishing exel file in MOSS 2007 using data from SQL sever.

  Hello, I need help in this matter: We have a template of exel file in which all calculations are already set. User can request a 'report'. Idea is to create a button on our site (SharePoint portal). After clicking on it a new exel file is generated. This means to get actual data from database (SQL server 2005 SP2), import them into template, let all calculations to generate proper data and then allow user to see this file. For now it's enough to publish final exel file in document library. I am quite new in WSS 3.0 and MOSS 2007 and I need some advice in what can be the best solution. Looks like a quite complex task for me. Is there some direct way how to accomplish this? Or maybe I need one tool to get data from database and to import this data into exel file (SSRS?) and other tool to publish it in document library (MOSS7 Exel services?). I heard something about PerformancePoint Server 2007, is this a way to follow? Thanks forward for any advice!
