• In an ExpandableListView, how can I show one additional line at the end of the child results?

  I have created a custom ExpandableListAdapter and everything works properly. What I'd like to be able to do is in each of the groups add a different type of child to the end. I have tried adding 1 to the getChildrenCount() number and then testing isLastChild in the getChildView() method, but that doesn't seem to work. If a group has three children what I have working looks like this: Group NormalChild NormalChild NormalChild But I'd really like something like this: Group NormalChild NormalChild NormalChild AlternateChild The idea being that the AlternateChild could be a link to more info about the group. Any Ideas? EDIT: ListView has addFooterView() which will allow you to add a footer to a whole ListView... wonder how to add them to the ExpandableListView's children, or if it's even possible

• How to set timeout with python-mechanize?

  I'm using python-mechanize to scrape some web sites, which sometime simply don't respond to requests and these requests stay open too long, so I need to limit timeout for these requests. While using urlopen method, the timeout can be set using timeout parameter, but I have not found easy way for doing it with high level API such as submit or click methods. Ideally the timeout would be set just once for whole browser class and all calls would honor that. It would be probably possible to customize this by passing custom request_class to every click and submit call, but this would just pollute the code, so I'm looking for nicer solution for setting timeout for mechanize's browser class (and no, I don't want to change default socket timeout using socket.setdefaulttimeout).

  I'm trying to write a custom MarkupExtension that allows me to use my own mechanisms for defining a binding, however when I attempt to return a MultiBinding from my MarkupExtension I get the above exception. I have: <TextBlock Text="{my:CustomMarkup ...}" /> CustomMarkup returns a MultiBinding, but apparently Text doesn't like being set to a MultiBinding. How come it works when I say: <TextBlock> <TextBlock.Text> <MultiBinding ... /> </TextBlock.Text> </TextBlock> But it doesn't work the way I'm doing it?

• Computed properties in NHibernate

  I'm having a problem in mapping an existing data class member to the database.. I have a database table where one of the columns is a string type, but actually stores a comma separated list of numbers. My data class shows this field as a list of integers. The problem is that I couldn't find any hook in NHibernate that allows me to invoke the custom code that is required to replace the string field by the list and vice versa. To illustrate (simplified of course): The database table: CREATE TABLE dummy ( id serial, numlist text -- (can store values such as '1,2,3') ) The data class: class Dummy { public int Id; public List<int> NumbersList; } Can anyone help?

However, the list is in a parameter, where I actually have the list in a file. How can I iterate over items in a file in an foreach-like way in Ant? • GUI Framework for flash (as3)

  I can't seem to find any GUI framework's for as3 that are as good as any the applications I already see out on the web; Is this something most people code themselves or am I missing something in flash itself? I'm looking for dialogs/windows, buttons, text boxes, combos, drop downs, menus, etc etc and the ability to extend the components to make new ones. I'd also prefer it to be as3 but any others will do also. May need to elaborate a little.. I'm actually looking for a framework to allow me to create my own GUIs in flash, custom skins, colors, styles, etc.

• How do I detect if a display is in High Contrast mode?

  I'm testing my company's established Swing application for accessibility issues. With high contrast mode enabled on my PC certain parts of this application are rendered properly (white-on-black) and some incorrectly (black-on-white). The bits that are correct are the native components (JButton, JLabel and whatnot) and third party components from the likes of JIDE. The incorrect bits are custom components and renderers developed in-house without consideration for high-contrast mode. Clearly it's possible to detect when high-contrast mode is enabled. How do I do this?

  Ok so the scenario is as follows: Have a sharepoint site setup on Microsoft Online, basically this site is a job booking system and is based on a custom sharepoint list. What I am trying to achieve is to extract List Items where the Invoiced Column is set to "No". Eventually I would like to post this to xero.com using their API as it accepts XML through the API Endpoints. Have tried using JQuery and JPoint but my limited programming skills are holding me back. Could anyone offer me some advice or point me in the right direction of someone that could help? am willing to pay someone if they can help me with getting this to work :)

• How to force Debian to boot new Kernel?

  I'm running Debian 6, Debian GNU/Linux, with Linux 2.6.32-5-amd64 under Grub2 ( 1.98+20100804-14+squeeze1) on a remote system (no possibility to view the pre-boot messages). I compiled and installed a new kernel, but I can not get it to boot. What I have done: Installed the packages via: dpkg -i linux-headers-3.5.3.20120914-amd64_3.5.3.20120914-amd64-10.00.Custom_amd64.deb linux-image-3.5.3.20120914-amd64_3.5.3.20120914-amd64-10.00.Custom_amd64.deb This updated the Grub configuration. • I want to use 960 or Blueprint, but I also want to use lots of Padding and Borders, is it a good fit

  I started using 960 today and thought it would be really easy. However, trying to translate a site to 960 quickly proved tough for many reasons. The first is that I can't use any padding or borders. Unless of course I add many more divs. Same thing with borders. Question is, if I want to use lots of padding and borders (where padding and borders are either 5px "thin" or 10px "thick" styles), are 960 and blueprint overkill? It seems pretty easy to create a custom grid, but once I add padding and borders, 99% of the work is making sure the grid doesn't break. I still am going to end up lining everything up to a 960 grid with 12 columns, but I want to have padding and borders included in the width, and it seems that's not easily possible with 960 or blueprint. What are your thoughts?

  Now that C++ development has become second nature to me, do I have to start from scratch with C#? Since the beginning of Visual Studio, there has been easy way to describe the shape of a Dialog (now called a Form) in the resource file and then use a wizard to create the corresponding C++ code. I kind of remember that in MFC it was pretty much a no-brainer to create a custom dialog with all the components you want and then all the associated code. If I have a C# app that has many forms that I want to bring to the screen based on the user's menu selections, how do I create a class associated with a windows form?

• Multiple NSURLDownloads with Progress

  Hello, I'm trying to build a small app which allows downloading of multiple files at the same time while displaying them in a custom NSTableView. This works, i've done this by using an NSEnumerator, but I struggle at getting the progress right. It's calculated correctly, but it's not done individually for every download, instead they're added up. The way I've tried to set the subtitles containing the progress is by loading them into a separate array and then inserting/replacing objects containing the progress, but here I run into another problem - I don't know how to get the index of the object that's being downloaded, so I can't differentiate between the progresses. • Automatically Loading XIB for UITableViewController

  Ran into something interesting, want to know if I'm doing something wrong or if this is the correct behavior. I have a custom UITableViewController. I ASSUMED (first mistake) that if you initialize as such: [[CustomTableController alloc] init]; it would automatically load from a XIB of the same name, CustomTableController.xib, if it is in the same directory and such. HOWEVER This does not work; doesn't load the XIB. BUT, if I change the parent class of my controller from 'UITableViewController' to 'UIViewController', EVERYHTING WORKS FINE! Calling: [[CustomTableController alloc] init]; loads the controller and view from my xib. Am I doing something wrong? Is this a bug? Expected behavior?

• How to: WCF XML-RPC client?

  I have built my own little custom XML-RPC server, and since I'd like to keep things simple, on both server and client side, what I would like to accomplish is to create a simplest possible client (in C# preferably) using WCF. Let's say that Contract for service exposed via XML-RPC is as follows: [ServiceContract] public interface IContract { [OperationContract(Action="Ping")] string Ping(); // server returns back string "Pong" [OperationContract(Action="Echo")] string Echo(string message); // server echoes back whatever message is } So, there are two example methods, one without any arguments, and another with simple string argument, both returning strings (just for sake of example). Service is exposed via http. Aaand, what's next? :) P.S. I have tried googling around for samples and similar, but all that I could come up with are some blog-related samples that use existing (and very big/numerous) classes, which implement appropriate IContract (or IBlogger) interfaces, so that most of what I am interested is hidden below several layers of abstraction...

• Drupal / ubercart remote node addition

  I am developing my first large Ubercart site, which needs to have a daily product database update from an existing xBase (DBF format). The conversion from DBF to MySQL/PHP is handled on the same server as the Drupal installation, using some custom scripting I have done, and works well. However, the next step is to get my script to talk to Drupal and update the product nodes with pricing/stock level/etc. Googling hasn't resulted in any good hits, at least in PHP terms. So how do I go about this? Can I just use a POST to a particular page in Drupal, ie RESTful, or do I have to use some more arcane xmlrpc method?

• How to keep the session of user login?

  Hi, I have an app that requires user to register. I've got the app conected to PHP in my server to do the logic of register/login and so, this is not problem at all. But, I want to keep a session of the user in local, so the user doesn't have to login again every time he runs the app. So, I want something like this: First time user, he opens the app, register and login. Do some stuff with the app and closes it. Open the app again, the user is recognized so he doesn't need to login again. I only need to store an ID and a Username (both fetched from the DB in the login php method). What's the best way to do this?? I've thought about doing a custom preference, store the data in files or even a local DB (sqlite). Any suggestions?

I am writing my first app in ASP.NET MVC Framework and i have a problem with checking privileges to use instances of model classes (read, edit). How should i resolve that problem?

• How to make WordPress "Add/Edit Post" form more Tumblr like?

  Hi, WordPress requires you give each blog post at least two fields: a title and text body content. I'm wondering how to modify WordPress admin so I can sometimes enter a single field for a blog post, in particular a URL, without WordPress requiring a title (related but not the point of this question: a custom theme would then know how to handle a post that only contained a URL, it would treat it like a "Link" post in Tumblr). Ideally it'd be good if the "add/edit post" form could be modified so it only contains this single URL/Link field when this is wanted. I'm guessing this is possible through a plugin but I'm not certain. I'm hoping some smart WordPress devs are here to share and brainstorm ideas for how this could be done. • How do I stall until a SharePoint List Item is Deleted with SPLongOperation?

  I have a workflow, which creates a task and deletes it after the task is edited and its useful information acquired. I created a custom edit form for the task, so I have an SPLongOperation that I can use to stall the page. This is necessary, because if I don't stall the page in some fashion, the person will see the task in the task list for the minute moment before the workflow gets to delete the task, and that is bad. So some code to stall the page until the task is fully deleted is necessary. I have currently implemented a solution for this, but I am unsatisfied with the approach. It basically is summed up to a while loop that calls SPList.GetItemById until it throws an error. Delibrately attempting to cause an error doesn't sit well with me, but I cannot think of a faster method for checking this. I'm looking for alternatives that would preferably work faster if not as fast, and preferably without relying on catching exceptions. Thank you in advance!

• How to differentiate between scrollbar click events and scrollbar drag events?

  I need to scroll an EXT-GWT grid by some custom amount instead of the default 1-2 rows. Since I couldn't find any parameter that let me do this, I overrode the event handler to capture scroll or mousewheel events. On any such event, I just programmatically move the scroller further by the required amount in the same direction, keeping a flag to ensure that it doesn't go into an infinite loop. However, this technique fails when the user scrolls the grid with the scroller. Specifically, when I drag the scroller from some position to the top of the scroll track, the rows displayed in the grid are not the topmost rows in the grid but some rows further down. I figured that if I could differentiate between the events generated by the scroll-up and scroll-down buttons and those generated by scroller drag, I could handle them separately and rectify the issue. Any way this could be done? Or is there a way to specify the amount by which a scrollbar should scroll in one step? Thanks -Sameer

• Empty $_POST data

  I am trying to post a post to my MyBB server from a Python script, but try as I might, I can't get it to work. The request shows up in the forensic log and the headers are in the $_SERVER variable, but $_POST is always an empty array. The error log shows nothing, even at the debug level. I've already tried searching, but I haven't found anything that's helped. I already checked the post_max_size thing, which is 8M. Another factor is that it's just my own requests which aren't going through. Browser generated requests seem to do just fine. I've looked and looked, but I can't find anything I'm doing differently that should matter. Anyway, here is an example request.
