• Delete Entity in Many to Many Relation. Don't get error but entity is not deleted

  I have, in EF5, two entities: User and Role. Between User and Role there is a many to many relation. I don't have an entity for the UserRoles database which sets the relation. I have a User and I want to delete a role without loading it from the database. Context context = new Context(); User user = context.Users.First(x => x.Id == 4); user.Roles = new List<Role>(); Role role = new Role { Id = 20 }; context.Roles.Attach(role); user.Roles.Remove(role); context.SaveChanges(); I don't get any error but the role is not removed. • Git pull: error: Entry foo not uptodate. Cannot merge.

  I'm trying to update my repo from a remote branch and keep getting this error when I do a "git pull". I haven't made any local changes, and even if I have I don't need to keep them. I've tried: git reset --hard and I get the same problem The only thing that seems to work is deleting the offending file and try a git pull again. I've also tried "git stash" followed by a "git pull". No go. edit: using PortableGit-1.6.4-preview20090729 so any previous bugs with spurious errors should be fixed.

  I'm using FILE type in my MFC project but after compiled, it shows the following errors: Error 23 error C4430: missing type specifier - int assumed. Note: C++ does not support default-int Error 24 error C4430: missing type specifier - int assumed. Note: C++ does not support default-int Error 22 error C2146: syntax error : missing ';' before identifier 'm_pFileW' Those errors are referring to this code: FILE *m_pFileW; Did I missing any library header to use FILE syntax? Do I need to use different approach and replace FILE syntax? This errors are only generated when I placed it into my MFC project. This is not happening in C++ Console. Please help. Thank you.

  I get this error after I created a class from my xsd file using the xsd.exe tool. So I searched the net and found a solution. Here is the link: http://satov.blogspot.com/2006/12/xsdexe-generated-classes-causing.html Problem is that this makes the code run, but somehow the deserialized data seems corrupt. I did what the site suggests and in the end the 2nd array dimension is always empty (see the comments of the site, somebody also had this problem). Question is, how do I solve this issue now? Is there another tool to create the xsd file? I tried Xsd2Code, without success. Thanks :-)

  So I have an interface: interface IFoo { int Bar(); int this[int i] {get; set;} } And a class that derives from it class Foo : IFoo { public int IFoo.Bar() { //Implementation { public int IFoo.this[int i] { //Implementation } } Now, I try to do this: var fooey = new Foo(); int i = Fooey.Bar(); or this: int i = Fooey[4]; I would expect these to work properly. However, the compiler generates an error as if such members don't exist. Why is that? I am aware I can cast Foo as IFoo, but I am also aware that casting is costly to performance, which is often the reason to use interfaces in the first place. EDIT 1: These are the errors generated 'Foo' does not contain a definition for 'Bar' and no extension method 'Bar' accepting a first argument of type 'Foo' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)   What is wrong with this statement? It works with sqlite and MS sql (last time i tested it) I would like a select unless there is no match with name or email. Then i would like to insert. • How do I get a rt2800usb wireless device working?

  My brand new desktop running 13.04 has endless problems with wireless. Dozens of others are flooding forums with reports of the same problems. It worked fine for a few days, then there were a few days where it started having problems sometimes and working sometimes. Now it never works at all. I have 5+ devices all able to connect without any trouble at all, including iPhone, Android phone, 3DS, multiple game consoles, a laptop running windows 7, and even a second desktop machine running Ubuntu 12.04 sitting right behind the 13.04 machine. All other devices have full wireless bars displayed (strong signals). At any moment, one of the following is happening, and it changes randomly: Trying to connect forever, but never establishing a connection. Wireless icon constantly animating. Finds no wireless networks at all. (There are 12+ in range according to other devices.) Will not try to connect to the network. If I use the icon to connect, it will display "Disconnected" within a few seconds. Will continuously ask for the network password. Typing it in correctly does not help. Wireless is working fine. This happens sometimes. It can work for days at a time, or only 10 mins at a time. Various things that usually do nothing but sometimes fix the problem: Reboot. This has the best chance of helping, but it usually takes 5+ times. Disable/re-enable Wi-Fi using the wireless icon. Disable/re-enable Networking using the wireless icon. Use the icon to try and connect to a network (if found). Use the icon to open Edit Connections and delete my connection info, causing it to be recreated (once it's actually found again). Various things that seem to make no difference: Changing between using Linux headers in grub at bootup, between 3.10.0, 3.9.0, or 3.8.0. Move the wireless router very close to the desktop. Running sudo rfkill unblock all (I dunno what this is supposed to do.) I've used Ubuntu for 6 years and I've never had a problem with networking. Now I'm spending all my time reading through endless problem reports and trying all the answers. None of them have helped. I am doing this instead of getting work done, which is defeating the whole purpose of using Ubuntu. It's heartbreaking to be honest. It said to install gksu. I tried that, but of course, not having Internet, I didn't get the package. So instead I did: sudo gedit /etc/pm/power.d/wireless Which created the file. Please note that this is a desktop machine. I'm assuming power management is primarily for laptops, but the iwconfig does state that power management is on, so who knows. The recommended router changes I did not do, since the current router settings are (I think) required for some of the older devices I have, and because the current settings work on all my modern devices including Ubuntu 12.04 and Windows 7. I do appreciate the advice though, and I'll look into it when I have time. Anything else to try? Update #2 I booted into Ubuntu 12.04.3 from a dvd, and the same problems exist. I have a separate old desktop machine with 12.04 installed that has no wireless problems at all. So obviously the problem is wireless hardware compatibility in both 12.04.03 LTS and 13.04. Update #3 The same problems exist even when using a wired connection. I plugged an ethernet cable directly to the router and the network manager added an "Auto Ethernet" entry, but it cannot establish a connection to it. So the problem is not specific to wireless. Meanwhile, I purchased a Trendnet N300 wireless USB adapter, TEW-664UB. I plugged it in, but I have no idea how to get Ubuntu to try and use it. Can anyone tell me how? Can I download a package on another computer and copy the .deb over to do an install, etc? I'm installing windows 7 to double check that the internet connection works there and it's not just some magically faulty hardware. Thanks for your help.

• How to stop an IOException error using whilst using a combination of jython, pyro and ant?

  So the wonderful low down on this doozie of a problem: short version: We are building a distribution system for this item of software we're using. Basically we take out build artifact, store it on an ftp server which passes it to multiple clients which execute scripts to patch their servers. Long version: 1 distribution server multiple client servers software: jython 2.5.1, ant 1.8.0, pyro 3.10 The distribution server has an FTP server and a PYRO client running on it. Each client server has a PRYO server running on it. When the PYRO client is told to start the patch procedure then it reads a machine list which contains a list of all the client servers. Then connects to each of the PYRO servers one by one and execute the patch procedure. The procedure is: getPatch (gets the latest patch for that server), StopServer (stops the software that may or maynot be accessing what needs to be patched), Apply patch, StartServer. Each of the processes calls an ANT script that passes with some folder names and other config passes around. The fun part happens when you go to apply the patch. See below for error log. I had to remove the folder names because of NDA reasons. This is where it gets interesting. Running each section of the procedure individually. i.e. running getPatch, StopServer, etc. one at a time manually. This bug doesn't happen. Physically goign to the machine and running the processes it doesn't happen. Only when we call all 4 of the processes one after the other. It occurs during the ApplyPatch phase when an ANT replace script is called on multiple files. We think it might have something to do with the JVM keeping hold of the file for a split second or 2. however this is meant to have been patched according to the bug notes on ant. so in short:   I have followed, and successfully completed, every step in this SO article to remove MAMP Pro in favor of installing the free version as I only need it for one site anyway. However, when I run the uninstaller I still get "The privileged action failed." after providing the password. Can anybody shed a little light on this maybe? I'm just trying to get MAMP Pro uninstalled so I can install the free MAMP stack.

• MySQL InnoDB Corruption after power outage, possible to recover?

  Hey Guys, I recently started trying to get Redmine up and running after a power outage that seems to have corrupted our InnoDB database in MySQL. Redmine had an extensive set of documentation that I would like to get even if redmine isn't able to run. The service fails on startup. I have tried inserting innodb_force_recovery = 4 per the documentation from the url in the error log. (also tried 1 thru 6 as I have backed up all directories after the corruption) I have verified through "mysqld-nt --print-defaults" that it is starting with the recovery option in the params. The machine is running Windows Server 2003 SP2, Xeon E5335 with 2GB RAM, MySQL is not mirrored to another machine, nor is the machine a mirror. I do not have any backups because the previous person did not set them up. • XenServer 6.0.2 path to installation media contains non-ascii characters

  XenServer 6.0.2 install fails no matter what I do. I have confirmed that the md5 checksum on my ISO file is good. I tried installing from a mounted ISO file (remotely via iKVM). I tried installing from physical media. I tried installing from a bootable USB stick (using syslinux + contents of the ISO) All attempts have yielded the same result: When verifying the installation media, at 0% initializing, the following is reported: "Some packages appeared to be damaged." followed by a list of pretty much all the gz2 and rpm packages. If I skip the media verification the installer proceeds and then gives me an error when it reaches "Installing from base pack" at 0% which states "An unrecoverable error has occurred. The error was: 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xff in position 20710: ordinal not in range(128) Please refer to your user guide, or contact a Technical Support Representative, for further details" there is one option left which is to reboot. Apparently at some point during the processing of the repositories on the installation media non-ascii characters are found, which causes the installer to quit. How do I fix this? Here are my specs TYAN S8236 motherboard 2 AMD Opteron 6234 processors LSI2008 card connected to 2 1TB Seagate Constellation drives SATA, 1 500GB Corsair m4 SSD SATA and 1 Corsair Forse 3 - 64GB SSD SATA Onboard SATA connected to a slim DVD-+RW.   IIS 7.5 FTP IIS Manager Users Login Fail (530) I'm trying to set up a FTP site on IIS 7.5 that allows IIS Manager Users to login. I'm following this guide: http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/321/configure-ftp-with-iis-7-manager-authentication/. After set up, I cannot login to the FTP using an IIS Manager User account. The client error I got was 530 User cannot log in. Win32 error: Unspecified error. Error details: An error occured during the authentication process. I tried both with or without a virtual host. A Windows account login fine. The only strange thing I noticed was that when setting up Read permission for Network Service, there was an access denied error when setting up permission for "%SystemDrive%\Windows\System32\inetsrv\config\schema". Any thoughts? Thanks!

• Cannot connect to local network shares when connected to VPN. Error: "the user name could not be found"

  I keep finding that on our small company LAN (7 users, 3 servers) that some servers keep becoming "not accessible" for the purposes of file sharing. They display the message "\SERVER is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. The user name could not be found". But I don't know why "the user name could not be found" as all the machines are on the same domain and the PDC and BDC seem to be behaving OK. EDIT: VPN seems to be the cause: It turns out I can see the server if I use the IP address (\\1.2.3.4\ etc) or the FQ active directory name (eg \server.domainname.local) but not if I use the server name on its own or a mapped network drive originally created from the "short" name. Oddly though, my machine has no issue resolving the server's DNS name as I can ping the machine name OK and it immediately comes back with the IP, however nslookup seems to fail. It seems to be a problem with how Windows looks up machine names when connected to VPNs. When I'm connected to a VPN, windows seems to use the DNS assocated with the VPN and not the one on the domain controller. This behavior to me, seems incorrect as surely that would mean connecting to any VPN would break any ability to lookup local machine names for servers and printers etc. So I guess the real question now is, how can I make my machine still search the local Active Directory DNS (the PDC) even when connected to a VPN? • how change nginx temp & log folder or disable logging completely

  I'm running nginx 1.3.5 under windows seven, I need to execute nginx directly from a read-only media (CD or DVD), but when I want to run it, it fails with this error: nginx: [alert] could not open error log file: CreateFile() "logs/error.log" fail ed (5: Access is denied) 2012/08/28 13:52:46 [emerg] 5604#2864: CreateDirectory() "J:\nginx-1.3.5/temp/client_body_temp" failed (5: Access is denied) where J is my CD-ROM drive letter. I've changed nginx.conf to disable logging completely, but seems anyway it still tries to build a file named 'error.log' in '/logs' folder & some extra temporary contents in '/temp' folder at the startup, so I want to change 'logs' & 'temp' directory path to windows temp folder (%temp%), but I dont have any idea that how can I do it. Also I want to know why nginx still creates 'logs/error.log' after disableing error logging ?
