  • "É" not getting converted to two bytes correctly.

    - by ChrisF
    Further to this question I've got a supplementary problem. I've found a track with an "É" in the title. My code: var playList = new StreamWriter(playlist, false, Encoding.UTF8); - private static void WriteUTF8(StreamWriter playList, string output) { byte[] byteArray = Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(output); foreach (byte b in byteArray) { playList.Write(Convert.ToChar(b)); } } converts this to the following bytes: 195 137 which is being output as à followed by a square (which is an character that can't be printed in the current font). I've exported the same file to a playlist in Media Monkey at it writes the "É" as "É" - which I'm assuming is correct (as KennyTM pointed out). My question is, how do I get the "‰" symbol output? Do I need to select a different font and if so which one? UPDATE People seem to be missing the point. I can get the "É" written to the file using playList.WriteLine("É"); that's not the problem. The problem is that Media Monkey requires the file to be in the following format: #EXTINFUTF8:140,Yann Tiersen - Comptine D'Un Autre Été: L'Après Midi #EXTINF:140,Yann Tiersen - Comptine D'Un Autre Été: L'Après Midi #UTF8:04-Comptine D'Un Autre Été- L'Après Midi.mp3 04-Comptine D'Un Autre Été- L'Après Midi.mp3 Where all the "high-ascii" (for want of a better term) are written out as a pair of characters.

  • C# - Class Type as Parameter in methods

    - by Claudio
    Hi guys, I'm using SQLite.cs wrapper for helping me with the database and I have this method for create XML from a table, that is working fine. public void GenerateInvoiceXML(string filePath) { var invoices = app.db.Table<Invoice>().ToList(); XmlSerializer serializer = new XmlSerializer( typeof(List<Invoice>) ); TextWriter writer = new StreamWriter(filePath); serializer.Serialize(writer,invoices); writer.Close(); } All tables that I have are defined like this: [Serializable] public class Invoice { [PrimaryKey, AutoIncrement] public int Id { get; set; } public string Supplier {get; set;} public string Date {get; set;} public string PaymentMethod {get; set;} public string Notes {get; set;} public Invoice(int newID) { Id = newID; } public Invoice() { } } But I want to change this method for something like this: public void GenerateInvoiceXML(string filePath, Type table) { var dataForXML = app.db.Table<table>().ToList(); XmlSerializer serializer = new XmlSerializer( typeof(List<table>) ); TextWriter writer = new StreamWriter(filePath); serializer.Serialize(writer,dataForXML); writer.Close(); } Does anybody have an idea how to do it? Kind Regards, Claudio

  • How to download .txt file from a url?

    - by Colin Roe
    I produced a text file and is saved to a location in the project folder. How do I redirect them to the url that contains that text file, so they can download the text file. CreateCSVFile creates the csv file to a file path based on a datatable. Calling: string pth = ("C:\\Work\\PG\\AI Handheld Website\\AI Handheld Website\\Reports\\Files\\report.txt"); CreateCSVFile(data, pth); And the function: public void CreateCSVFile(DataTable dt, string strFilePath) { StreamWriter sw = new StreamWriter(strFilePath, false); int iColCount = dt.Columns.Count; for (int i = 0; i < iColCount; i++) { sw.Write(dt.Columns[i]); if (i < iColCount - 1) { sw.Write(","); } } sw.Write(sw.NewLine); // Now write all the rows. foreach (DataRow dr in dt.Rows) { for (int i = 0; i < iColCount; i++) { if (!Convert.IsDBNull(dr[i])) { sw.Write(dr[i].ToString()); } if (i < iColCount - 1) { sw.Write(","); } } sw.Write(sw.NewLine); } sw.Close(); Response.WriteFile(strFilePath); FileInfo fileInfo = new FileInfo(strFilePath); if (fileInfo.Exists) { //Response.Clear(); //Response.AddHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=" + fileInfo.Name); //Response.AddHeader("Content-Length", fileInfo.Length.ToString()); //Response.ContentType = "application/octet-stream"; //Response.Flush(); //Response.TransmitFile(fileInfo.FullName); } }

  • Sending items in a LINQ sequence to a method that returns void

    - by generalt
    Hello all. Often while I'm dealing with LINQ sequences, I want to send each item to a method returning void, avoiding a foreach loop. However, I haven't found an elegant way to do this. Today, I wrote the following code: private StreamWriter _sw; private void streamToFile(List<ErrorEntry> errors) { if (_sw == null) { _sw = new StreamWriter(Path.Combine (Path.GetDirectoryName(_targetDatabasePath), "errors.txt")); } Func<ErrorEntry, bool> writeSelector = (e) => { _sw.WriteLine(getTabDelimititedLine(e)); return true; }; errors.Select(writeSelector); _sw.Flush(); } As you can see, I write a lambda function that just returns true, and I realize that the Select method will return a sequence of booleans- I'll just ignore that sequence. However, this seems a little bit noobish and jank. Is there any elegant way to do this? Or am I just misapplying LINQ? Thanks.

  • How to intercept, parse and compile?

    - by epitka
    This is a problem I've been struggling to solve for a while. I need a way to either replace code in the method with a parsed code from the template at compile time (PostSharp comes to mind) or to create a dynamic proxy (Linfu or Castle). So given a source code like this [Template] private string GetSomething() { var template = [%=Customer.Name%] } I need it to be compiled into this private string GetSomething() { MemoryStream mStream = new MemoryStream(); StreamWriter writer = new StreamWriter(mStream,System.Text.Encoding.UTF8); writer.Write(@"" ); writer.Write(Customer.Name); StreamReader sr = new StreamReader(mStream); writer.Flush(); mStream.Position = 0; return sr.ReadToEnd(); } It is not important what technology is used. I tried with PostSharp's ImplementMethodAspect but got nowhere (due to lack of experience with it). I also looked into Linfu framework. Can somebody suggest some other approach or way to do this, I would really appreciate. My whole project depends on this.

  • problems with Console.SetOut in Release Mode?

    - by Matt Jacobsen
    i have a bunch of Console.WriteLines in my code that I can observe at runtime. I communicate with a native library that I also wrote. I'd like to stick some printf's in the native library and observe them too. I don't see them at runtime however. I've created a convoluted hello world app to demonstrate my problem. When the app runs, I can debug into the native library and see that the hello world is called. The output never lands in the textwriter though. Note that if the same code is run as a console app then everything works fine. C#: [DllImport("native.dll")] static extern void Test(); StreamWriter writer; public Form1() { InitializeComponent(); writer = new StreamWriter(@"c:\output.txt"); writer.AutoFlush = true; System.Console.SetOut(writer); } private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { Test(); } and the native part: __declspec(dllexport) void Test() { printf("Hello World"); } Update: hamishmcn below started talking about debug/release builds. I removed the native call in the above button1_click method and just replaced it with a standard Console.WriteLine .net call. When I compiled and ran this in debug mode the messages were redirected to the output file. When I switched to release mode however the calls weren't redirected. Console redirection only seems to work in debug mode. How do I get around this?

  • How can we serialize a class that is not a custom class of our own?

    - by Doug
    I need to look at the properties of an object and I cannot instantiate this object in the proper state on my dev machine. I need my client to run some code on her machine, serialize the object in question to disk and then I can analyze the file. Here is the class I want to serialize. System.Security.AccessControl.RegistrySecurity Here is my code: Private Sub SerializeRegSecurity(ByVal regKey As RegistryKey) Try Dim regSecurity As System.Security.AccessControl.RegistrySecurity = regKey.GetAccessControl() Dim oXS As XmlSerializer = New XmlSerializer(GetType(System.Security.AccessControl.RegistrySecurity)) Dim oStmW As StreamWriter Dim regDebugFilePath As String = Path.Combine(My.Computer.FileSystem.SpecialDirectories.Desktop, "RegDebugFile.xml") 'Serialize object to XML and write it to XML file oStmW = New StreamWriter(regDebugFilePath) oXS.Serialize(oStmW, regSecurity) oStmW.Close() Catch ex As Exception Console.WriteLine(ex.ToString) End Try End Sub And here's what I end up with in my XML file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> Any ideas on how to accomplish what I am trying to do? How can we serialize a class that is not a custom class of our own? Thanks for ANY help. Even an alternate method.

  • PAYPAL IPN Response Problem

    - by Gorkem Tolan
    I am having a problem with Paypal IPN response. After payment is made by the customer, paypal ipn returns this url www.mywebsite.com?orderid=32&tx=2AC67201DL3533325&st=Pending&amt=2.50&cc=USD&cm=&item_number=32 There are a couple of issues 1- Postback field names are undefined or missing. Thus I can get the INVALID message. I am not sure if my website does not read POST variables. When I looked at IPN history, it shows that each IPN has been sent with the complete url. 2- Payment status keeps coming Pending. Does this issue cause the first issue? Thank you for your responses in advance. Here is the code: Dim strSandbox As String, strLive As String Dim req As HttpWebRequest strSandbox = "http://www.sandbox.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr/" strLive = "https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr" req = CType(WebRequest.Create(strSandbox), HttpWebRequest) 'Set values for the request back req.Method = "POST" req.ContentType = "application/x-www-form-urlencoded" Dim param() As Byte param = Request.BinaryRead(HttpContext.Current.Request.ContentLength) Dim strRequest As String strRequest = Encoding.ASCII.GetString(param) strRequest = strRequest & "&cmd=_notify-validate" req.ContentLength = strRequest.Length 'Response.Write(strRequest) 'Send the request to PayPal and get the response Dim streamOut As StreamWriter streamOut = New StreamWriter(req.GetRequestStream(), System.Text.Encoding.ASCII) streamOut.Write(strRequest) streamOut.Close() Dim streamIn As StreamReader streamIn = New StreamReader(req.GetResponse().GetResponseStream()) Dim strResponse As String strResponse = streamIn.ReadToEnd() Response.Write(strResponse) streamIn.Close() If (strResponse = "VERIFIED") Then Response.Redirect("thankyou.aspx") ElseIf (strResponse = "INVALID") Then End If

  • Using C++ DLL in C# project

    - by Frank
    Hello, I got a C++ dll which has to be integrated in a C# project. I think I found the correct way to do it, but calling the dll gives me this error: System.BadImageFormatException: An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format. • Sharing a COM port over TCP

    - by guinness
    What would be a simple design pattern for sharing a COM port over TCP to multiple clients? For example, a local GPS device that could transmit co-ordinates to remote hosts in realtime. So I need a program that would open the serial port and accept multiple TCP connections like: class Program { public static void Main(string[] args) { SerialPort sp = new SerialPort("COM4", 19200, Parity.None, 8, StopBits.One); Socket srv = new Socket(AddressFamily.InterNetwork, SocketType.Stream, ProtocolType.Tcp); srv.Bind(new IPEndPoint(IPAddress.Any, 8000)); srv.Listen(20); while (true) { Socket soc = srv.Accept(); new Connection(soc); } } } I would then need a class to handle the communication between connected clients, allowing them all to see the data and keeping it synchronized so client commands are received in sequence: class Connection { static object lck = new object(); static List<Connection> cons = new List<Connection>(); public Socket socket; public StreamReader reader; public StreamWriter writer; public Connection(Socket soc) { this.socket = soc; this.reader = new StreamReader(new NetworkStream(soc, false)); this.writer = new StreamWriter(new NetworkStream(soc, true)); new Thread(ClientLoop).Start(); } void ClientLoop() { lock (lck) { connections.Add(this); } while (true) { lock (lck) { string line = reader.ReadLine(); if (String.IsNullOrEmpty(line)) break; foreach (Connection con in cons) con.writer.WriteLine(line); } } lock (lck) { cons.Remove(this); socket.Close(); } } } The problem I'm struggling to resolve is how to facilitate communication between the SerialPort instance and the threads. I'm not certain that the above code is the best way forward, so does anybody have another solution (the simpler the better)?

  • Conditionaly strip the last line from a text file

    - by fraXis
    Hello, I posted this yesterday on SO, and I received an answer that works great, but I need to change it around and I don't know how. Here is my original message: I need to strip the last line from a text file. I know how to open and save text files in C#, but how would I strip the last line of the text file? The text file will always be different sizes (some have 80 lines, some have 20). Can someone please show me how to do this? Here is the code that someone gave me to do this (which works fine) //Delete the last line from the file. This line could be 8174, 10000, or anything. This is from SO string tempfile = @"C:\junk_temp.txt"; using (StreamReader reader2 = new StreamReader(newfilename)) { using (StreamWriter writer2 = new StreamWriter(tempfile)) { string line = reader2.ReadLine(); while (!reader2.EndOfStream) { writer2.WriteLine(line); line = reader2.ReadLine(); } // by reading ahead, will not write last line to file } } File.Delete(newfilename); File.Move(tempfile, newfilename); File.Delete(tempfile); How would I change this to only delete the last line of the text file if it is a 4 or 5 digit string (such as 8001 or 99999). If it is anything other than that, such as a %, then I don't want to delete the last line. Can someone please modify the above code to do this for me? Thanks so much.

  • create and write to a text file in vb.net

    - by woolardz
    I'm creating a small vb.net application, and I'm trying trying to write a list of results from a listview to a text file. I've looked online and found the code to open the save file dialog and write the text file. When I click save on the save file dialog, I receive an IOException with the message "The process cannot access the file 'C:\thethe.txt' because it is being used by another process." The text file is created in the correct location, but is empty. The application quits at this line "Dim fs As New FileStream(saveFileDialog1.FileName, FileMode.OpenOrCreate, FileAccess.Write)" Thanks in advance for any help. Private Sub btnSave_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnSave.Click Dim myStream As Stream Dim saveFileDialog1 As New SaveFileDialog() saveFileDialog1.Filter = "txt files (*.txt)|*.txt|All files (*.*)|*.*" saveFileDialog1.FilterIndex = 2 saveFileDialog1.RestoreDirectory = True If saveFileDialog1.ShowDialog() = DialogResult.OK Then myStream = saveFileDialog1.OpenFile() If (myStream IsNot Nothing) Then Dim fs As New FileStream(saveFileDialog1.FileName, FileMode.OpenOrCreate, FileAccess.Write) Dim m_streamWriter As New StreamWriter(fs) m_streamWriter.Flush() 'Write to the file using StreamWriter class m_streamWriter.BaseStream.Seek(0, SeekOrigin.Begin) 'write each row of the ListView out to a tab-delimited line in a file For i As Integer = 0 To Me.ListView1.Items.Count - 1 m_streamWriter.WriteLine(((ListView1.Items(i).Text & vbTab) + ListView1.Items(i).SubItems(0).ToString() & vbTab) + ListView1.Items(i).SubItems(1).ToString()) Next myStream.Close() End If End If End Sub

  • How to retain similar character encoding

    - by Mystere Man
    I have a logfile that contains the half character ½, I need to process this log file and rewrite certain lines to a new file, which contain that character. However, when I write out the file the characters appear in notepad incorrectly. I know this is some kind of encoding issue, and i'm not sure if it's just that the files i'm writing don't contain the correct bom or what. I've tried reading and writing the file with all the available encoding options in the Encoding enumeration. I'm using this code: string line; // Note i've used every version of the Encoding enumeration using (StreamReader sr = new StreamReader(file, Encoding.Unicode)) using (StreamWRiter sw = new StreamWriter(newfile, false, Encoding.Unicode)) { while ((line = sr.ReadLine()) != null) { // process code, I do not alter the lines, they are copied verbatim // but i do not write every line that i read. sw.WriteLine(line); } } When I view the original log in notepad, the half character displays correctly. When I view the new file, it does not. Can anyone help me to solve this?

  • Weird behavior with windows startup C#

    - by FrieK
    Hi, I've created an application with the option to start on Windows startup. First I did this via the Registry, like this: private void RunOnStartup(bool RunOnStartup) { Microsoft.Win32.RegistryKey key = Microsoft.Win32.Registry.CurrentUser.OpenSubKey("SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Run", true); if (RunOnStartup) { key.SetValue(ProgramTitle, System.Windows.Forms.Application.ExecutablePath.ToString()); } else { key.DeleteValue(ProgramTitle, false); } } And this worked, but not correctly. It started the .exe but with the same behavior as it was a new one with the default 'config.xml' it needs. Which is obviously wrong. I did not manage to find out what was wrong, so I tried it differently: create a shortcut in the Startup folder. Couldn't go wrong I figured, I mean, it's just a shortcut right? I used this code: private void RunOnStartup(bool RunOnStartup) { string startup = Environment.GetFolderPath(Environment.SpecialFolder.Startup) + "\\"+ProgramTitle+".url"; if (RunOnStartup) { using (StreamWriter writer = new StreamWriter(startup)) { string app = System.Reflection.Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly().Location; writer.WriteLine("[InternetShortcut]"); writer.WriteLine("URL=file:///" + app); writer.WriteLine("IconIndex=0"); string icon = app.Replace('\\', '/'); writer.WriteLine("IconFile=" + icon); writer.Flush(); } } else { if (File.Exists(startup)) { File.Delete(startup); } } } And this worked as well, it started, but with the same behavior. So my question is, does anyone have any idea how this happens? Any help is much appreciated! Thanks

  • Silverlight 4, Google Chrome, and HttpWebRequest problem

    - by synergetic
    My Silvrlight 4 application hosted in ASP.NET MVC 2 working fine when used through Internet Explorer 8, both in development server and remote web server (IIS 6.0). However when I try to browse through Google Chrome (version 5.0.375.70) it throws "remote server returned not found" error. The code causing the problem is the following: public class MyWebClient { private HttpWebRequest _request; private Uri _uri; private AsyncOperation _asyncOp; public MyWebClient(Uri uri) { _uri = uri; } public void Start(XElement data) { _asyncOp = AsyncOperationManager.CreateOperation(null); _data = data; _request = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create(_uri); _request.Method = "POST"; _request.BeginGetRequestStream(new AsyncCallback(BeginRequest), null); } private void BeginRequest(IAsyncResult result) { Stream stream = _request.EndGetRequestStream(result); using (StreamWriter writer = new StreamWriter(stream)) { writer.Write(((XElement)_data).ToString()); } stream.Close(); _request.BeginGetResponse(new AsyncCallback(BeginResponse), null); } private void BeginResponse(IAsyncResult result) { HttpWebResponse response = (HttpWebResponse)_request.EndGetResponse(result); if (response != null) { //process returned data ... } } ... } In short, the above code sends some XML data to web server (to ASP.NET MVC controller) and gets back a processed data. It works when I use Internet Explorer 8. Can someone please explain what is the problem with Google Chrome?

  • StreamReader not working as expected

    Hi, I have written a simple utility that loops through all C# files in my project and updates the copyright text at the top. For example, a file may look like this; //Copyright My Company, © 2009-2010 The program should update the text to look like this; //Copyright My Company, © 2009-2010 However, the code I have written results in this; //Copyright My Company, 2009-2011 Here is the code I am using; public bool ModifyFile(string filePath, List<string> targetText, string replacementText) { if (!File.Exists(filePath)) return false; if (targetText == null || targetText.Count == 0) return false; if (string.IsNullOrEmpty(replacementText)) return false; string modifiedFileContent = string.Empty; bool hasContentChanged = false; //Read in the file content using (StreamReader reader = File.OpenText(filePath)) { string file = reader.ReadToEnd(); //Replace any target text with the replacement text foreach (string text in targetText) modifiedFileContent = file.Replace(text, replacementText); if (!file.Equals(modifiedFileContent)) hasContentChanged = true; } //If we haven't modified the file, dont bother saving it if (!hasContentChanged) return false; //Write the modifications back to the file using (StreamWriter writer = new StreamWriter(filePath)) { writer.Write(modifiedFileContent); } return true; } Any help/suggestions are appreciated. • File being used by another process. Reason, and solution?

    - by pstar
    The process cannot access the file 'abc.log' because it is being used by another process. Hi, I've seen this exception from my application occationaly but I am still trying to fix that, hope I will get some insight from stackoverflow. In my application I've have defined a WriteToLog function which will write to a log file. Also the mainForm of my application will launch a backgroundWorker do some job which also calls the WriteToLog. Maybe two threads access a file will cause a problem? But in my code I 've already do my best to write flush and close the text file (I think), and here is my code from WriteToLog: StreamWriter sw = null; string newText = ""; try { //populate the content for newText sw = File.AppendText(LOG_FILE); sw.Write(newText); sw.Flush(); sw.Close(); } catch (IOException ex) { MessageBox.Show("Failed to write to log!\n\t" + ex.Message, "Error", MessageBoxButtons.OK, MessageBoxIcon.Error); } finally { if (sw != null) { sw.Close(); } } I think as long as I flush and close the streamWriter, I should be able call the WriteToLog multi-times and in multi-threads isn't it? Or if I am wrong, could I simple make the file open shared, or there are other reason/solutions?

Thanks { var destination = args[0]; var command = string.Format("Select * from {0}", Validator.Check(args[1])); var connectionstring = string.Format("Data Source={0}; Initial Catalog=dbname;Integrated Security=SSPI;", args[2]); var helper = new SqlHelper(command, CommandType.Text, connectionstring); using (StreamWriter writer = new StreamWriter(destination)) using (IDataReader reader = helper.ExecuteReader()) { while (reader.Read()) { Object[] values = new Object[reader.FieldCount]; int fieldCount = reader.GetValues(values); for (int i = 0; i < fieldCount; i++) writer.Write(values[i]); writer.WriteLine(); } writer.Close(); }

  • How to implement an EventHandler to update controls

    - by Bill
    May I ask for help with the following? I am attempting to connect and control three pieces of household electronic equipment by computer through a GlobalCache GC-100 and iTach. As you will see in the following code, I created a class-instance of GlobalCacheAdapter that communicates with each piece of equipment. Although the code seems to work well in controlling the equipment, I am having trouble updating controls with the feedback from the equipment. The procedure "ReaderThreadProc" captures the feedback; however I don't know how to update the associated TextBox with the feedback. I believe that I need to create an EventHandler to notify the TextBox of the available update; however I am uncertain as to how an EventHandler like this would be implemented. Any help wold be greatly appreciated. using System; using System.IO; using System.Net; using System.Net.Sockets; using System.Threading; using System.Windows.Forms; namespace WindowsFormsApplication1 { public partial class Form1 : Form { // Create three new instances of GlobalCacheAdaptor and connect. // GC-100 (Elan) 192.168.1.70 4998 // GC-100 (TuneSuite) 192.168.1.70 5000 // GC iTach (Lighting) 192.168.1.71 4999 private GlobalCacheAdaptor elanGlobalCacheAdaptor; private GlobalCacheAdaptor tuneSuiteGlobalCacheAdaptor; private GlobalCacheAdaptor lutronGlobalCacheAdaptor; public Form1() { InitializeComponent(); elanGlobalCacheAdaptor = new GlobalCacheAdaptor(); elanGlobalCacheAdaptor.ConnectToDevice(IPAddress.Parse("192.168.1.70"), 4998); tuneSuiteGlobalCacheAdaptor = new GlobalCacheAdaptor(); tuneSuiteGlobalCacheAdaptor.ConnectToDevice(IPAddress.Parse("192.168.1.70"), 5000); lutronGlobalCacheAdaptor = new GlobalCacheAdaptor(); lutronGlobalCacheAdaptor.ConnectToDevice(IPAddress.Parse("192.168.1.71"), 4999); elanTextBox.Text = elanGlobalCacheAdaptor._line; tuneSuiteTextBox.Text = tuneSuiteGlobalCacheAdaptor._line; lutronTextBox.Text = lutronGlobalCacheAdaptor._line; } private void btnZoneOnOff_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { elanGlobalCacheAdaptor.SendMessage("sendir,4:3,1,40000,4,1,21,181,21,181,21,181,21,181,21,181,21,181,21,181,21,181,21,181,21,181,21,181,21,800" + Environment.NewLine); } private void btnSourceInput1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { elanGlobalCacheAdaptor.SendMessage("sendir,4:3,1,40000,1,1,20,179,20,179,20,179,20,179,20,179,20,179,20,179,20,278,20,179,20,179,20,179,20,780" + Environment.NewLine); } private void btnSystemOff_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { elanGlobalCacheAdaptor.SendMessage("sendir,4:3,1,40000,1,1,20,184,20,184,20,184,20,184,20,184,20,286,20,286,20,286,20,184,20,184,20,184,20,820" + Environment.NewLine); } private void btnLightOff_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { lutronGlobalCacheAdaptor.SendMessage("sdl,14,0,0,S2\x0d"); } private void btnLightOn_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { lutronGlobalCacheAdaptor.SendMessage("sdl,14,100,0,S2\x0d"); } private void btnChannel31_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { tuneSuiteGlobalCacheAdaptor.SendMessage("\xB8\x4D\xB5\x33\x31\x00\x30\x21\xB8\x0D"); } private void btnChannel30_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { tuneSuiteGlobalCacheAdaptor.SendMessage("\xB8\x4D\xB5\x33\x30\x00\x30\x21\xB8\x0D"); } } } public class GlobalCacheAdaptor { public Socket _multicastListener; public string _preferredDeviceID; public IPAddress _deviceAddress; public Socket _deviceSocket; public StreamWriter _deviceWriter; public bool _isConnected; public int _port; public IPAddress _address; public string _line; public GlobalCacheAdaptor() { } public static readonly GlobalCacheAdaptor Instance = new GlobalCacheAdaptor(); public bool IsListening { get { return _multicastListener != null; } } public GlobalCacheAdaptor ConnectToDevice(IPAddress address, int port) { if (_deviceSocket != null) _deviceSocket.Close(); try { _port = port; _address = address; _deviceSocket = new Socket(AddressFamily.InterNetwork, SocketType.Stream, ProtocolType.Tcp); _deviceSocket.Connect(new IPEndPoint(address, port)); ; _deviceAddress = address; var stream = new NetworkStream(_deviceSocket); var reader = new StreamReader(stream); var writer = new StreamWriter(stream) { NewLine = "\r", AutoFlush = true }; _deviceWriter = writer; writer.WriteLine("getdevices"); var readerThread = new Thread(ReaderThreadProc) { IsBackground = true }; readerThread.Start(reader); _isConnected = true; return Instance; } catch { DisconnectFromDevice(); MessageBox.Show("ConnectToDevice Error."); throw; } } public void SendMessage(string message) { try { var stream = new NetworkStream(_deviceSocket); var reader = new StreamReader(stream); var writer = new StreamWriter(stream) { NewLine = "\r", AutoFlush = true }; _deviceWriter = writer; writer.WriteLine(message); var readerThread = new Thread(ReaderThreadProc) { IsBackground = true }; readerThread.Start(reader); } catch { MessageBox.Show("SendMessage() Error."); } } public void DisconnectFromDevice() { if (_deviceSocket != null) { try { _deviceSocket.Close(); _isConnected = false; } catch { MessageBox.Show("DisconnectFromDevice Error."); } _deviceSocket = null; } _deviceWriter = null; _deviceAddress = null; } private void ReaderThreadProc(object state) { var reader = (StreamReader)state; try { while (true) { var line = reader.ReadLine(); if (line == null) break; _line = _line + line + Environment.NewLine; } // Need to create EventHandler to notify the TextBoxes to update with _line } catch { MessageBox.Show("ReaderThreadProc Error."); } } }

  • How to edit item in a listbox shown from reading a .csv file?

    - by Shuvo
    I am working in a project where my application can open a .csv file and read data from it. The .csv file contains the latitude, longitude of places. The application reads data from the file shows it in a static map and display icon on the right places. The application can open multiple file at a time and it opens with a new tab every time. But I am having trouble in couple of cases When I am trying to add a new point to the .csv file opened. I am able to write new point on the same file instead adding a new point data to the existing its replacing others and writing the new point only. I cannot use selectedIndexChange event to perform edit option on the listbox and then save the file. Any direction would be great. using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.ComponentModel; using System.Data; using System.Drawing; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using System.Windows.Forms;
