  • Google MapView doesn't work after signed the app.

    - by user164589
    Hi guys, I am facing to android application signing problem. My application contains Google MapView. When I compile the app and run on the emulator, MapView works fine. But signed the app, MapView doesn't work. I've get Google Map API. This works on the simulator. I could sign the app once 2 months ago. Then I've upgraded the app. Now I need to sign the app again. Actually I don't know why signed app's mapView doesn't work. How to fix it ? Please advice. I used following steps when sign the app: Run Eclipse. Select the project. Right Click - Android Tools - Export Signed Application Package - Then Filled forms. (In forms, Validity years: 200, and all passwords are same.) Can you suggest me ? Thanks in advance.

  • Android onClickListener options and help on creating a non-static array adapter

    - by CoderInTraining
    I am trying to make an application that gets data dynamically and displays it in a listView. Here is my code that I have with static data. There are a couple of things I want to try and do and can't figure out how. MainActivity.java package text.example.project; import java.util.ArrayList; import java.util.Arrays; import java.util.Collections; import android.app.ListActivity; import android.os.Bundle; import android.view.View; import android.widget.AdapterView; import android.widget.AdapterView.OnItemClickListener; import android.widget.ArrayAdapter; import android.widget.ListView; import android.widget.TextView; import android.widget.Toast; public class MainActivity extends ListActivity { //declarations private boolean isItem; private ArrayAdapter<String> item1Adapter; private ArrayAdapter<String> item2Adapter; private ArrayAdapter<String> item3Adapter; /** Called when the activity is first created. */ @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); Collections.sort(ITEM1); Collections.sort(ITEM2); Collections.sort(ITEM3); item1Adapter = new ArrayAdapter<String>(this, R.layout.list_item, ITEM1); item2Adapter = new ArrayAdapter<String>(this, R.layout.list_item, ITEM2); item3Adapter = new ArrayAdapter<String>(this, R.layout.list_item, ITEM3); setListAdapter(item1Adapter); isItem = true; ListView lv = getListView(); lv.setTextFilterEnabled(true); lv.setOnItemClickListener(new OnItemClickListener() { @Override public void onItemClick(AdapterView<?> parent, View view, int position, long id) { // When clicked, show a toast with the TextView text if (isItem) { //ITEM1.add("another\n\t" + Calendar.getInstance().getTime()); Collections.sort(ITEM1); item2Adapter.notifyDataSetChanged(); setListAdapter(item2Adapter); isItem = false; } else { item1Adapter.notifyDataSetChanged(); setListAdapter(item1Adapter); isItem = true; } Toast.makeText(getApplicationContext(), ((TextView) view).getText(), Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); } }); } // need to turn dynamic static ArrayList<String> ITEM1 = new ArrayList<String> (Arrays.asList( "ITEM1-1", "ITEM1-2" )); static ArrayList<String> ITEM2 = new ArrayList<String> (Arrays.asList( "ITEM2-1", "ITEM2-2" )); static ArrayList<String> ITEM3 = new ArrayList<String> (Arrays.asList("ITEM3-1", "ITEM3-2")); } list_item.xml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <TextView xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:padding="10dp" android:textSize="16sp" > </TextView> What I want to do is first pull from a dynamic source. I need to do what is almost exactly like this tutorial... http://androiddevelopement.blogspot.in/2011/06/android-xml-parsing-tutorial-using.html ... however, I can't get the tutorial to work... I also would like to know how I can make the list item clicks so that if I click on "ITEM1-1" it goes to the menu "ITEM2-1" and "ITEM2-2". and if "ITEM1-2" is clicked, then it goes to the menu with "ITEM3-1" and "ITEM3-2"... I am totally a noob at this whole android development thing. So any suggestions would be great!

  • Android beginner: Touch events in android gridview

    - by jja
    I am using the following code to do things with gridview(slightly modified from http://developer.android.com/resources/tutorials/views/hello-gridview.html). I want to replace the onClicklistener and the onClick() method with their "touch" equivalents i.e. touchlistener and onTouch() so that when i touch an element in the gridview the image of the element changes and a double touch on the same element takes it back to the orginal state. How do I do this? I can't get my code to do this. The clicklistener works to some extent but the touch isn't. Please help. public class ImageAdapter extends BaseAdapter { private Context mContext; public ImageAdapter(Context c) { mContext = c; } public int getCount() { return mThumbIds.length; } public Object getItem(int position) { return null; } public long getItemId(int position) { return 0; } // create a new ImageView for each item referenced by the Adapter public View getView(int position, View convertView, ViewGroup parent) { ImageView imageView; if (convertView == null) { // if it's not recycled, initialize some attributes imageView = new ImageView(mContext); imageView.setLayoutParams(new GridView.LayoutParams(85, 85)); imageView.setScaleType(ImageView.ScaleType.CENTER_CROP); imageView.setPadding(8, 8, 8, 8); imageView.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() { @Override public void onClick(View view) { if(position==0) { //do this } else { //do this } } }); } else { imageView = (ImageView) convertView; } imageView.setImageResource(mThumbIds[position]); return imageView; } // references to our images private Integer[] mThumbIds = { R.drawable.sample_2, R.drawable.sample_3, R.drawable.sample_4, R.drawable.sample_5, R.drawable.sample_6, R.drawable.sample_7, R.drawable.sample_0, R.drawable.sample_1, R.drawable.sample_2, R.drawable.sample_3, R.drawable.sample_4, R.drawable.sample_5, R.drawable.sample_6, R.drawable.sample_7, R.drawable.sample_0, R.drawable.sample_1, R.drawable.sample_2, R.drawable.sample_3, R.drawable.sample_4, R.drawable.sample_5, R.drawable.sample_6, R.drawable.sample_7 }; }

  • Windows Azure: Announcing release of Windows Azure SDK 2.2 (with lots of goodies)

    - by ScottGu
    Earlier today I blogged about a big update we made today to Windows Azure, and some of the great new features it provides. Today I’m also excited to also announce the release of the Windows Azure SDK 2.2. Today’s SDK release adds even more great features including: Visual Studio 2013 Support Integrated Windows Azure Sign-In support within Visual Studio Remote Debugging Cloud Services with Visual Studio Firewall Management support within Visual Studio for SQL Databases Visual Studio 2013 RTM VM Images for MSDN Subscribers Windows Azure Management Libraries for .NET Updated Windows Azure PowerShell Cmdlets and ScriptCenter The below post has more details on what’s available in today’s Windows Azure SDK 2.2 release.  Also head over to Channel 9 to see the new episode of the Visual Studio Toolbox show that will be available shortly, and which highlights these features in a video demonstration. Visual Studio 2013 Support Version 2.2 of the Window Azure SDK is the first official version of the SDK to support the final RTM release of Visual Studio 2013. If you installed the 2.1 SDK with the Preview of Visual Studio 2013 we recommend that you upgrade your projects to SDK 2.2.  SDK 2.2 also works side by side with the SDK 2.0 and SDK 2.1 releases on Visual Studio 2012: Integrated Windows Azure Sign In within Visual Studio Integrated Windows Azure Sign-In support within Visual Studio is one of the big improvements added with this Windows Azure SDK release.  Integrated sign-in support enables developers to develop/test/manage Windows Azure resources within Visual Studio without having to download or use management certificates.  You can now just right-click on the “Windows Azure” icon within the Server Explorer inside Visual Studio and choose the “Connect to Windows Azure” context menu option to connect to Windows Azure: Doing this will prompt you to enter the email address of the account you wish to sign-in with: You can use either a Microsoft Account (e.g. Windows Live ID) or an Organizational account (e.g. Active Directory) as the email.  The dialog will update with an appropriate login prompt depending on which type of email address you enter: Once you sign-in you’ll see the Windows Azure resources that you have permissions to manage show up automatically within the Visual Studio Server Explorer (and you can start using them): With this new integrated sign in experience you are now able to publish web apps, deploy VMs and cloud services, use Windows Azure diagnostics, and fully interact with your Windows Azure services within Visual Studio without the need for a management certificate.  All of the authentication is handled using the Windows Azure Active Directory associated with your Windows Azure account (details on this can be found in my earlier blog post). Integrating authentication this way end-to-end across the Service Management APIs + Dev Tools + Management Portal + PowerShell automation scripts enables a much more secure and flexible security model within Windows Azure, and makes it much more convenient to securely manage multiple developers + administrators working on a project.  It also allows organizations and enterprises to use the same authentication model that they use for their developers on-premises in the cloud.  It also ensures that employees who leave an organization immediately lose access to their company’s cloud based resources once their Active Directory account is suspended. Filtering/Subscription Management Once you login within Visual Studio, you can filter which Windows Azure subscriptions/regions are visible within the Server Explorer by right-clicking the “Filter Services” context menu within the Server Explorer.  You can also use the “Manage Subscriptions” context menu to mange your Windows Azure Subscriptions: Bringing up the “Manage Subscriptions” dialog allows you to see which accounts you are currently using, as well as which subscriptions are within them: The “Certificates” tab allows you to continue to import and use management certificates to manage Windows Azure resources as well.  We have not removed any functionality with today’s update – all of the existing scenarios that previously supported management certificates within Visual Studio continue to work just fine.  The new integrated sign-in support provided with today’s release is purely additive. Note: the SQL Database node and the Mobile Service node in Server Explorer do not support integrated sign-in at this time. Therefore, you will only see databases and mobile services under those nodes if you have a management certificate to authorize access to them.  We will enable them with integrated sign-in in a future update. Remote Debugging Cloud Resources within Visual Studio Today’s Windows Azure SDK 2.2 release adds support for remote debugging many types of Windows Azure resources. With live, remote debugging support from within Visual Studio, you are now able to have more visibility than ever before into how your code is operating live in Windows Azure.  Let’s walkthrough how to enable remote debugging for a Cloud Service: Remote Debugging of Cloud Services To enable remote debugging for your cloud service, select Debug as the Build Configuration on the Common Settings tab of your Cloud Service’s publish dialog wizard: Then click the Advanced Settings tab and check the Enable Remote Debugging for all roles checkbox: Once your cloud service is published and running live in the cloud, simply set a breakpoint in your local source code: Then use Visual Studio’s Server Explorer to select the Cloud Service instance deployed in the cloud, and then use the Attach Debugger context menu on the role or to a specific VM instance of it: Once the debugger attaches to the Cloud Service, and a breakpoint is hit, you’ll be able to use the rich debugging capabilities of Visual Studio to debug the cloud instance remotely, in real-time, and see exactly how your app is running in the cloud. Today’s remote debugging support is super powerful, and makes it much easier to develop and test applications for the cloud.  Support for remote debugging Cloud Services is available as of today, and we’ll also enable support for remote debugging Web Sites shortly. Firewall Management Support with SQL Databases By default we enable a security firewall around SQL Databases hosted within Windows Azure.  This ensures that only your application (or IP addresses you approve) can connect to them and helps make your infrastructure secure by default.  This is great for protection at runtime, but can sometimes be a pain at development time (since by default you can’t connect/manage the database remotely within Visual Studio if the security firewall blocks your instance of VS from connecting to it). One of the cool features we’ve added with today’s release is support that makes it easy to enable and configure the security firewall directly within Visual Studio.  Now with the SDK 2.2 release, when you try and connect to a SQL Database using the Visual Studio Server Explorer, and a firewall rule prevents access to the database from your machine, you will be prompted to add a firewall rule to enable access from your local IP address: You can simply click Add Firewall Rule and a new rule will be automatically added for you. In some cases, the logic to detect your local IP may not be sufficient (for example: you are behind a corporate firewall that uses a range of IP addresses) and you may need to set up a firewall rule for a range of IP addresses in order to gain access. The new Add Firewall Rule dialog also makes this easy to do.  Once connected you’ll be able to manage your SQL Database directly within the Visual Studio Server Explorer: This makes it much easier to work with databases in the cloud. Visual Studio 2013 RTM Virtual Machine Images Available for MSDN Subscribers Last week we released the General Availability Release of Visual Studio 2013 to the web.  This is an awesome release with a ton of new features. With today’s Windows Azure update we now have a set of pre-configured VM images of VS 2013 available within the Windows Azure Management Portal for use by MSDN customers.  This enables you to create a VM in the cloud with VS 2013 pre-installed on it in with only a few clicks: Windows Azure now provides the fastest and easiest way to get started doing development with Visual Studio 2013. Windows Azure Management Libraries for .NET (Preview) Having the ability to automate the creation, deployment, and tear down of resources is a key requirement for applications running in the cloud.  It also helps immensely when running dev/test scenarios and coded UI tests against pre-production environments. Today we are releasing a preview of a new set of Windows Azure Management Libraries for .NET.  These new libraries make it easy to automate tasks using any .NET language (e.g. C#, VB, F#, etc).  Previously this automation capability was only available through the Windows Azure PowerShell Cmdlets or to developers who were willing to write their own wrappers for the Windows Azure Service Management REST API. Modern .NET Developer Experience We’ve worked to design easy-to-understand .NET APIs that still map well to the underlying REST endpoints, making sure to use and expose the modern .NET functionality that developers expect today: Portable Class Library (PCL) support targeting applications built for any .NET Platform (no platform restriction) Shipped as a set of focused NuGet packages with minimal dependencies to simplify versioning Support async/await task based asynchrony (with easy sync overloads) Shared infrastructure for common error handling, tracing, configuration, HTTP pipeline manipulation, etc. Factored for easy testability and mocking Built on top of popular libraries like HttpClient and Json.NET Below is a list of a few of the management client classes that are shipping with today’s initial preview release: .NET Class Name Supports Operations for these Assets (and potentially more) ManagementClient Locations Credentials Subscriptions Certificates ComputeManagementClient Hosted Services Deployments Virtual Machines Virtual Machine Images & Disks StorageManagementClient Storage Accounts WebSiteManagementClient Web Sites Web Site Publish Profiles Usage Metrics Repositories VirtualNetworkManagementClient Networks Gateways Automating Creating a Virtual Machine using .NET Let’s walkthrough an example of how we can use the new Windows Azure Management Libraries for .NET to fully automate creating a Virtual Machine. I’m deliberately showing a scenario with a lot of custom options configured – including VHD image gallery enumeration, attaching data drives, network endpoints + firewall rules setup - to show off the full power and richness of what the new library provides. We’ll begin with some code that demonstrates how to enumerate through the built-in Windows images within the standard Windows Azure VM Gallery.  We’ll search for the first VM image that has the word “Windows” in it and use that as our base image to build the VM from.  We’ll then create a cloud service container in the West US region to host it within: We can then customize some options on it such as setting up a computer name, admin username/password, and hostname.  We’ll also open up a remote desktop (RDP) endpoint through its security firewall: We’ll then specify the VHD host and data drives that we want to mount on the Virtual Machine, and specify the size of the VM we want to run it in: Once everything has been set up the call to create the virtual machine is executed asynchronously In a few minutes we’ll then have a completely deployed VM running on Windows Azure with all of the settings (hard drives, VM size, machine name, username/password, network endpoints + firewall settings) fully configured and ready for us to use: Preview Availability via NuGet The Windows Azure Management Libraries for .NET are now available via NuGet. Because they are still in preview form, you’ll need to add the –IncludePrerelease switch when you go to retrieve the packages. The Package Manager Console screen shot below demonstrates how to get the entire set of libraries to manage your Windows Azure assets: You can also install them within your .NET projects by right clicking on the VS Solution Explorer and using the Manage NuGet Packages context menu command.  Make sure to select the “Include Prerelease” drop-down for them to show up, and then you can install the specific management libraries you need for your particular scenarios: Open Source License The new Windows Azure Management Libraries for .NET make it super easy to automate management operations within Windows Azure – whether they are for Virtual Machines, Cloud Services, Storage Accounts, Web Sites, and more.  Like the rest of the Windows Azure SDK, we are releasing the source code under an open source (Apache 2) license and it is hosted at https://github.com/WindowsAzure/azure-sdk-for-net/tree/master/libraries if you wish to contribute. PowerShell Enhancements and our New Script Center Today, we are also shipping Windows Azure PowerShell 0.7.0 (which is a separate download). You can find the full change log here. Here are some of the improvements provided with it: Windows Azure Active Directory authentication support Script Center providing many sample scripts to automate common tasks on Windows Azure New cmdlets for Media Services and SQL Database Script Center Windows Azure enables you to script and automate a lot of tasks using PowerShell.  People often ask for more pre-built samples of common scenarios so that they can use them to learn and tweak/customize. With this in mind, we are excited to introduce a new Script Center that we are launching for Windows Azure. You can learn about how to scripting with Windows Azure with a get started article. You can then find many sample scripts across different solutions, including infrastructure, data management, web, and more: All of the sample scripts are hosted on TechNet with links from the Windows Azure Script Center. Each script is complete with good code comments, detailed descriptions, and examples of usage. Summary Visual Studio 2013 and the Windows Azure SDK 2.2 make it easier than ever to get started developing rich cloud applications. Along with the Windows Azure Developer Center’s growing set of .NET developer resources to guide your development efforts, today’s Windows Azure SDK 2.2 release should make your development experience more enjoyable and efficient. If you don’t already have a Windows Azure account, you can sign-up for a free trial and start using all of the above features today.  Then visit the Windows Azure Developer Center to learn more about how to build apps with it. • Problem with bluetooth on android 2.1 (samsung spica i5700) where pairing works but connection does

    - by user319634
    I have a Samsung Spica i5700 which I already have updated to Android 2.1. I am using the phone with an application called Run.GPS (http://www.rungps.net). This application logs data such as GPS position, route, speed, bearing etc. It can also log heartrate provided the user has a Zephyr HxM bluetooth heart rate monitor ("HxM"), which I do have. I can pair the HxM to the phone through the standard bluetooth utility. I'm prompted for the PIN, which I enter and the device is shown as 'Paired but not connected'. In the Run.GPS application itself, I click on 'Connect Heartrate Monitor'. This times out after about 30 seconds and the error message is 'Could not connect to heartrate monitor. Please try other settings'. I used a friend's HTC Windows Mobile as a control device to see if the HxM works there. It does. The Run.GPS application automatically sets the baud rate (initially to 9600 IIRC, though the connection also worked with higher baud rates) and it is possible to choose between various COM ports as well as a .Net COM port. I did some testing on my Spica Android, to try to find out why the bluetooth connection doesn't work. Below are some log files that I connected over adb when I clicked on 'Connect to Heartrate Monitor' in the Run.GPS application. I would be interested in any tips (including if I'm posting to the wrong forum here ;-)) - whether or not it's possible to experiment with the baud rate in Android etc. I still don't know if the problem is with the Run.GPS application (I've posted already on the development forum there) or with Android 2.1. I checked out another application - Endomondo - which is also a sport tracking application which supports heartrate monitor only with the HxM. There, what looked like exactly the same error occurred - I clicked on 'Connect Zephyr HxM'. For a few seconds I was shown the 'Connecting...' status, but then it timed out into 'Not Connected'. I'm thus tending towards looking at Android for the problem. Here's the output of adb logcat while trying to connect ./adb logcat | grep Run.GPS D/WYNEX> (11551): Excute :: Run.GPS Trainer UV, (null) E/Run.GPS (11997): Cannot connect to BT device E/Run.GPS (11997): java.io.IOException: Service discovery failed E/Run.GPS (11997): at android.bluetooth.BluetoothSocket$SdpHelper.doSdp(BluetoothSocket.java:374) E/Run.GPS (11997): at android.bluetooth.BluetoothSocket.connect(BluetoothSocket.java:184) E/Run.GPS (11997): at ju.a(Unknown Source) E/Run.GPS (11997): at qk.j(Unknown Source) E/Run.GPS (11997): at fs.c(Unknown Source) E/Run.GPS (11997): at le.a(Unknown Source) E/Run.GPS (11997): at s.b(Unknown Source) E/Run.GPS (11997): at pb.a(Unknown Source) E/Run.GPS (11997): at as.a(Unknown Source) E/Run.GPS (11997): at am.b(Unknown Source) E/Run.GPS (11997): at gf.onTouchEvent(Unknown Source) E/Run.GPS (11997): at android.view.View.dispatchTouchEvent(View.java:3709) E/Run.GPS (11997): at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchTouchEvent(ViewGroup.java:884) E/Run.GPS (11997): at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchTouchEvent(ViewGroup.java:884) E/Run.GPS (11997): at com.android.internal.policy.impl.PhoneWindow$DecorView.superDispatchTouchEvent(PhoneWindow.java:1665) E/Run.GPS (11997): at com.android.internal.policy.impl.PhoneWindow.superDispatchTouchEvent(PhoneWindow.java:1107) E/Run.GPS (11997): at android.app.Activity.dispatchTouchEvent(Activity.java:2061) E/Run.GPS (11997): at com.android.internal.policy.impl.PhoneWindow$DecorView.dispatchTouchEvent(PhoneWindow.java:1649) E/Run.GPS (11997): at android.view.ViewRoot.handleMessage(ViewRoot.java:1694) E/Run.GPS (11997): at android.os.Handler.dispatchMessage(Handler.java:99) E/Run.GPS (11997): at android.os.Looper.loop(Looper.java:123) E/Run.GPS (11997): at android.app.ActivityThread.main(ActivityThread.java:4363) E/Run.GPS (11997): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invokeNative(Native Method) E/Run.GPS (11997): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:521) E/Run.GPS (11997): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit$MethodAndArgsCaller.run(ZygoteInit.java:860) E/Run.GPS (11997): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit.main(ZygoteInit.java:618) E/Run.GPS (11997): at dalvik.system.NativeStart.main(Native Method) E/Run.GPS (11997): Cannot connect to BT device E/Run.GPS (11997): java.io.IOException: Service discovery failed Here's the output of dmesg while trying to connect the heartrate monitor <4>[74726.239833] select 11691 (.serviceModeApp), adj 15, size 3205, to kill <4>[74726.240741] select 11739 (com.wssnps), adj 15, size 3207, to kill <4>[74726.246870] select 11750 (id.partnersetup), adj 15, size 3219, to kill <4>[74726.253390] select 11857 (p.bluetoothicon), adj 15, size 3299, to kill <4>[74726.259879] select 13131 (ndroid.settings), adj 15, size 4586, to kill <4>[74726.266372] send sigkill to 13131 (ndroid.settings), adj 15, size 4586 <7>[74733.945097] [BT] GPIO_BT_WAKE = 1 <7>[74733.945121] [BT] wake_lock(bt_wake_lock) <7>[74733.951799] [BT] GPIO_BT_HOST_WAKE = 1 <7>[74733.951822] [BT] wake_lock timeout = 5 sec <7>[74735.890196] [BT] GPIO_BT_HOST_WAKE = 0 <7>[74736.150987] [BT] GPIO_BT_HOST_WAKE = 1 <7>[74736.151009] [BT] wake_lock timeout = 5 sec <7>[74737.490185] [BT] GPIO_BT_HOST_WAKE = 0 <7>[74740.073913] [BT] GPIO_BT_HOST_WAKE = 1 <7>[74740.073948] [BT] wake_lock timeout = 5 sec <7>[74741.315336] [BT] GPIO_BT_HOST_WAKE = 0 <7>[74743.249747] [BT] GPIO_BT_HOST_WAKE = 1 <7>[74743.249768] [BT] wake_lock timeout = 5 sec <7>[74744.865099] [BT] GPIO_BT_HOST_WAKE = 0 <7>[74745.154487] [BT] GPIO_BT_HOST_WAKE = 1 <7>[74745.154509] [BT] wake_lock timeout = 5 sec <7>[74748.852534] [BT] GPIO_BT_HOST_WAKE = 0 <7>[74749.156256] [BT] GPIO_BT_HOST_WAKE = 1 <7>[74749.156278] [BT] wake_lock timeout = 5 sec <7>[74750.490018] [BT] GPIO_BT_HOST_WAKE = 0 <4>[74754.230424] select 11691 (.serviceModeApp), adj 15, size 3191, to kill <4>[74754.231326] select 11739 (com.wssnps), adj 15, size 3193, to kill <4>[74754.237473] select 11750 (id.partnersetup), adj 15, size 3205, to kill <4>[74754.243950] select 11857 (p.bluetoothicon), adj 15, size 3283, to kill <4>[74754.250452] select 13140 (com.svox.pico), adj 15, size 3465, to kill <4>[74754.256787] send sigkill to 13140 (com.svox.pico), adj 15, size 3465

  • Unable to mute the microphone in Android

    Hi, I'm working on an app that uses AudioRecord class to get input data from the phone mic. For some reason I'm unable to mute the mic. I have tried with different AudioSources (DEFAULT, MIC and VOICE_UPLINK) when creating the AudioRecord object, but there's no difference in the muting behaviour. The muting itself, I'm trying to achieve with AudioManager#setMicrophoneMute() method. Any ideas? Thanks.

  • Android: Programmatically move between images in Gallery widget

    - by bdls
    I'd like to programmatically move between images in the Gallery widget, with animation. I can change the currently displaying image using the setSelection(int position) method, however that does not animate. Then there's setSelection(int position, bool animate) but the extra boolean on the end there doesn't appear to do anything. In the source of Gallery it appears that it can handle DPAD key-presses, so a work-around I thought of was to fake the key-presses. Eg. dispatchKeyEvent(new KeyEvent(KeyEvent.ACTION_DOWN, KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_LEFT)) However I can't get this working for some reason. Anyone tried this? I notice three of the widget's methods I'd love to use moveNext(), movePrevious() and scrollToChild() are all private and unusable. Does anyone know how I might be able to do this?

  • Android: How can I validate EditText input?

    - by Stefan
    I need to do form validation on a series of EditTexts. I'm using OnFocusChangeListeners to trigger the validation, but this doesn't behave as desired for the final EditText. If I click on the "Done" button while typing into the final EditText then the InputMethod is disconnected, but technically focus is never lost on the EditText (and so validation never occurs). What's the best solution? Should I be monitoring when the InputMethod unbinds from each EditText rather than when focus changes? If so, how?

  • Android Packaging Problem: resources.ap_ does not exist

    - by Galip
    I am trying to fix a problem in Eclipse for like 3 hours and I haven't made any progress. Tomorrow is the customer coming to look at my app, and I have no time left. This is really frustrating! This morning when I was coding and I wanted to run my app on my device Eclipse crashed all of a sudden. 'aapt.exe has stopped working' After this Eclipse wasn't starting anymore. It froze at the splash image. I looked on the internet and tried different solutions like going back to Java SE 6 update 20, changing .ini file etc. in the end reinstalling Eclipse did the job. Shortly after that the 'aapt.exe has stopped working' returned. I found a solution by changing my projects target. 1.5, 1.6, 2.2 doesn't matter, as long as it's different than the one before. Now I get the Error generating final archive: java.io.FileNotFoundException: C:\xxx\bin\resources.ap_ does not exist error. I tried clean but that doesn't work. Deleting and automatically regenarting R.java also didn't work. I ran the same code in Netbeans with the Android plugin and there it gives me the 'aapt.exe has stopped working' again :( Please guys, how can I fix this? Edit: I think I may have found the reason. • Android Update Layout Content

    - by GuyNoir
    I'm looking for a way to update a layout's content with a new view. Is there any way to easily do this. It would be similar to how tabs work, but I don't want to have to get into extending the current tab structure if I don't have to. The final result would be a few buttons that would switch the content in a specific linearlayout for each button. Any help?

I'd like to return to my application once the call has finished, but I read this post and it seems not to be possible. So... is there anyway to at least pause my application and resume it once the call has finished? Thank you so much for reading.

  • Android 2.2 and "Bad address family" on Socket Connect

    - by Josh
    I have a fairly simple game that works perfectly on every version now up through 2.1, but with the new 2.2 (Froyo) release I am unable to create a socket. I am using the mina package for nio, and get this exception: W/System.err( 263): java.net.SocketException: Bad address family W/System.err( 263): at org.apache.harmony.luni.platform.OSNetworkSystem.connectStreamWithTimeoutSocketImpl(Native Method) W/System.err( 263): at org.apache.harmony.luni.platform.OSNetworkSystem.connect(OSNetworkSystem.java:115) W/System.err( 263): at org.apache.harmony.nio.internal.SocketChannelImpl.connect(SocketChannelImpl.java:272) W/System.err( 263): at org.apache.harmony.nio.internal.PipeImpl$SinkChannelImpl.finishConnect(PipeImpl.java:164) W/System.err( 263): at org.apache.harmony.nio.internal.PipeImpl.(PipeImpl.java:48) W/System.err( 263): at org.apache.harmony.nio.internal.SelectorProviderImpl.openPipe(SelectorProviderImpl.java:51) W/System.err( 263): at org.apache.harmony.nio.internal.SelectorImpl.(SelectorImpl.java:141) W/System.err( 263): at org.apache.harmony.nio.internal.SelectorProviderImpl.openSelector(SelectorProviderImpl.java:58) W/System.err( 263): at java.nio.channels.Selector.open(Selector.java:48) W/System.err( 263): at org.apache.mina.transport.socket.nio.SocketConnector.startupWorker(SocketConnector.java:248) W/System.err( 263): at org.apache.mina.transport.socket.nio.SocketConnector.connect(SocketConnector.java:210) W/System.err( 263): at org.apache.mina.transport.socket.nio.SocketConnector.connect(SocketConnector.java:137) W/System.err( 263): at org.apache.mina.common.support.BaseIoConnector.connect(BaseIoConnector.java:40) Later in the log, usually immediately following I get this: W/System.err( 263): java.lang.NullPointerException W/System.err( 263): at org.apache.harmony.nio.internal.SelectorImpl.wakeup(SelectorImpl.java:418) W/System.err( 263): at org.apache.mina.transport.socket.nio.SocketConnector.connect(SocketConnector.java:222) W/System.err( 263): at org.apache.mina.transport.socket.nio.SocketConnector.connect(SocketConnector.java:137) W/System.err( 263): at org.apache.mina.common.support.BaseIoConnector.connect(BaseIoConnector.java:40) I have done all the googling and looking around I can think of and found nothing. The closest I have come seems to be an old JDK bug with ipv6 support on XP and Vista machines (I'm running Vista). Recommendations included disabling ipv6 (that did not work) and disabling ipv4 and leaving ipv6 (will not work for me as my router and ISP don't support it and so could not test anyway). Any thoughts, suggestions, things I have not tried? Thanks, Josh
