  • Android UnknownHost in asyncTask - loading web page

    - by Sneha
    I followed this tutorial for AsyncTask and getting the following error log: 03-23 11:44:42.936: WARN/System.err(315): java.net.UnknownHostException: www.google.co.in 03-23 11:44:42.936: WARN/System.err(315): at java.net.InetAddress.lookupHostByName(InetAddress.java:513) 03-23 11:44:42.936: WARN/System.err(315): at java.net.InetAddress.getAllByNameImpl(InetAddress.java:278) 03-23 11:44:42.936: WARN/System.err(315): at java.net.InetAddress.getAllByName(InetAddress.java:242) 03-23 11:44:42.936: WARN/System.err(315): at org.apache.http.impl.conn.DefaultClientConnectionOperator.openConnection(DefaultClientConnectionOperator.java:136) 03-23 11:44:42.936: WARN/System.err(315): at org.apache.http.impl.conn.AbstractPoolEntry.open(AbstractPoolEntry.java:164) 03-23 11:44:42.936: WARN/System.err(315): at org.apache.http.impl.conn.AbstractPooledConnAdapter.open(AbstractPooledConnAdapter.java:119) 03-23 11:44:42.936: WARN/System.err(315): at org.apache.http.impl.client.DefaultRequestDirector.execute(DefaultRequestDirector.java:348) 03-23 11:44:42.936: WARN/System.err(315): at org.apache.http.impl.client.AbstractHttpClient.execute(AbstractHttpClient.java:555) 03-23 11:44:42.936: WARN/System.err(315): at org.apache.http.impl.client.AbstractHttpClient.execute(AbstractHttpClient.java:487) 03-23 11:44:42.944: WARN/System.err(315): at org.apache.http.impl.client.AbstractHttpC lient.execute(AbstractHttpClient.java:465) 03-23 11:44:42.944: WARN/System.err(315): at com.test.async.AsyncTaskExampleActivity$DownloadWebPageTask.doInBackground (AsyncTaskExampleActivity.java:36) 03-23 11:44:42.944: WARN/System.err(315): at com.test.async.AsyncTaskExampleActivity$DownloadWebPageTask.doInBackground (AsyncTaskExampleActivity.java:1) 03-23 11:44:42.944: WARN/System.err(315): at android.os.AsyncTask$2.call(AsyncTask.java:185) 03-23 11:44:42.944: WARN/System.err(315): at java.util.concurrent.FutureTask$Sync.innerRun(FutureTask.java:305) 03-23 11:44:42.944: WARN/System.err(315): at java.util.concurrent.FutureTask.run (FutureTask.java:137) 03-23 11:44:42.944: WARN/System.err(315): at java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor.runWorker(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:1068) 03-23 11:44:42.944: WARN/System.err(315): at java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:561) 03-23 11:44:42.944: WARN/System.err(315): at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:1096) How do i fix it??   • Wasteful Ajax Page Loading

    - by Matt Dawdy
    I've started a new job, and the portion of the project I'm working has a very odd structure. Every pages is a .Net aspx page, and it loads just fine, but nothing is really done at load time. Everything is really loaded from a jquery document.onready handler. What is even more...interesting...is that the onready handler calls some ajax calls that drop entire .aspx pages into divs on the page, but first it strips out several parts of the the returned page. This is the "magic" script the previous programmer ran on all the returned html from his ajax calls: function CleanupResponseText(responseText, uniqueName) { responseText = responseText.replace("theForm.submit();", "SubmitSubForm(theForm, $(theForm).parent());"); responseText = responseText.replace(new RegExp("theForm", "g"), uniqueName); responseText = responseText.replace(new RegExp("doPostBack", "g"), "doPostBack" + uniqueName); return responseText; } He then intercepts any kind of form postback and runs his own form submission function: function SubmitSubForm(form, container) { //ShowLoading(container); $(form).ajaxSubmit( { url: $(form).attr("action"), success: function(responseText) { $(container).html(CleanupResponseText(responseText, form.id)); $("form", container).css("margin-top", "0").css("padding-top", "0"); //HideLoading(container); } } ); } Am I way offbase in thinking that this is less than optimal? I mean, how does a browser take out the html and head and other tags that don't have anything to do with what you are really trying to drop into that div? Also, he's returning things like asp:gridview controls, and the associate viewstate, which can be quite large if his dataset is big. Has anyone seen this before?

  • CodeIgniter Third party class not loading

    - by Jatin Soni
    I am trying to implement Dashboard widget class (found here: http://harpanet.com/programming/php/codeigniter/dashboard/index#installation) but it is giving me error Unable to load the requested class I have tried to add this class in autoload as well as menually to my controller $this->load->library('dash') but this also giving the same error. I have checked dash.php and found below method private function __example__() but can't understand what the developer is saying in comment. class Dash { private function __example__() { /* * This function is purely to show an example of a dashboard method to place * within your own controller. */ // load third_party hArpanet dashboard library $this->load->add_package_path(APPPATH.'third_party/hArpanet/hDash/'); $dash =& $this->load->library('dash'); $this->load->remove_package_path(APPPATH.'third_party/hArpanet/hDash/'); // configure dashboard widgets - format: type, src, title, cols, alt (for images) $dash->widgets = array( array('type'=>'oop', 'src'=>'test_dash', 'title'=>'Test OOP Widget', 'cols'=>3), // if 'title' is set to FALSE, the title block is omitted entirely // note: this is an 'html' widget but is being fed content from a local method array('type'=>'html', 'src'=>self::test_method(), 'title'=>false, 'cols'=>3), array('type'=>'file', 'src'=>'saf_inv.htm', 'title'=>'Safety Investigation'), // multi-content widget - set widget title in outer array (also note use of CI anchor to create a link) array('title'=>anchor('tz', 'TARGET ZERO'), // sub-content follows same array format as single content widget // 'img' content can also have an 'alt' text array('type'=>'img', 'src'=>'saf_tzout.gif', 'alt'=>'Action Completed'), array('type'=>'file', 'src'=>'saf_tz.htm'), array('type'=>'file', 'src'=>'ave_close.htm', 'title'=>'Average Time to Close') ), array('type'=>'file', 'src'=>'saf_meet.htm', 'title'=>'Safety Meeting'), array('type'=>'file', 'src'=>'saf_acc.htm', 'title'=>'Accident Investigation'), array('type'=>'file', 'src'=>'saf_hazmat.htm', 'title'=>anchor('hazmat', 'HAZMAT')), array('type'=>'file', 'src'=>'saf_cont.htm', 'title'=>'Loss of Containment'), array('type'=>'file', 'src'=>'saf_worksinfo.htm', 'title'=>'Works Information'), // an action widget - 'clear' will generate a blank widget with a style of clear:both array('type'=>'clear'), // multi-content widget - width can be set using the 'cols' param in outer array array('title'=>'RAG Report', 'cols' => 2, array('type'=>'file', 'src'=>'saf_rag.htm'), array('type'=>'img', 'src'=>'ProcSaf.gif')), array('type'=>'file', 'src'=>'saf_chrom.htm', 'title'=>'Chrome checks'), ); // populate the view variable $widgets = $dash->build('safety'); // render the dashboard $this->load->view('layout_default', $widgets); } ................... } // end of Dash class Installation path is root/application/third_party/hArpanet/hDash/libraries/dash.php How can I load this class to my system and use widgets?

  • Loading a CSV file using jQuery GET returns the header but no data

    - by Cees Meijer
    When reading a CSV file from a server using the jQuery 'GET' function I do not get any data. When I look at the code using FireBug I can see the GET request is sent and the return value is '200 OK'. Also I see that the header is returned correctly so the request is definitely made, and data is returned. This is also what I see in Wireshark. Here I see the complete contents of the CSV file is returned as a standard HTTP response. But the actual data is not there in my script. Firebug shows an empty response and the 'success' function is never called. What could be wrong ? <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <title>New Web Project</title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <script src="jquery.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> var csvData; $(document).ready(function() { $("#btnGET").click(function() { csvData = $.ajax({ type: "GET", url: "http://www.mywebsite.com/data/sample_file.csv", dataType: "text/csv", success: function () { alert("done!"+ csvData.getAllResponseHeaders()) } }); }); }) </script> </head> <body> <h1>New Web Project Page</h1> <button id="btnGET">GET Data</button> </body> </html>

    I have regular javascript code and am trying to utilize JQuery just to load and parse an xml file. I have the following: function loadXml() { $(function() { $.ajax({ type: "GET", url: "my_file.xml", dataType: "xml", success: parseXml }); }); } function parseXml() { alert("Parsing..."); } When calling loadXml I cannot get the callback success function to execute. I am running this all locally and my_file.xml resides in the same directory as this javascript. Any ideas?

  • Flymake quits right ahead after loading with js2-mode

    - by artistoex
    When opening .js files, js2-mode and, subsequently, flymake-js is automatically loaded. But flymake unloads right ahead with the message Toggling flymake-mode off; better pass an explicit argument. However, when enabling it manually, using M-x flymake-mode, it keeps activated. Has anybody encountered similar behavior and has fixed it? My setup: I followed the instructions on emacswiki to set up Flymake to work with the most recent js2-mode with a little modification: (add-hook 'js2-mode-hook '(lambda () (flymake-js-load))) instead of (add-hook 'javascript-mode-hook '(lambda () (flymake-js-load)))

  • How to determine loading status of images not attached to the DOM

    - by Rookwood
    I am working on a bit of javascript to plot data on a <canvas. The data points are marked by one of several different (small) image files. I am attempting to have the plot method wait until all the images are loaded. My best attempt thus far is such: var icon = { left : { air : new Image(), bone : new Image(), }, right : { air: new Image(), bone : new Image(), }, }; icon.left.air.src = option.imgPath + 'left.air.png'; icon.right.air.src = option.imgPath + 'right.air.png'; icon.left.bone.src = option.imgPath + 'left.bone.png'; icon.right.bone.src = option.imgPath + 'right.bone.png'; function main() { Canvas.draw(); // Make sure our image icons are loaded before we try to plot $(icon.left.air).load(function() { $(icon.right.air).load(function() { $(icon.left.bone).load(function() { $(icon.right.bone).load(function() { Data.plot(); }); }); }); }); } This works as expected most of the time. On occasion, it will fail and no data will be plotted. Inserting several console.log() statements shows that the script will silently stop working through the series of .load() statements, though code that comes after will be executed. My questions are as follows: Am I approaching this the right way? Is there a way to attach an event to my icon object that will fire once all of the images inside are loaded? This is a jquery plugin, so obviously jquery-based solutions are just as acceptable as vanilla javascript.

  • how do you get qTip to have proper width when loading content via ajax

    - by ooo
    i have an asp.net mvc site and here is a dynamic tooltip using qTip Here is my code: $('a.showNutritionInfo').each(function() { $(this).qtip({ content: { text: '<img src="../../images/ajax-loader1.gif" alt="" />', style: { width: 450 }, url: '/Tracker/NutritionInfo/' + $(this).attr('id'), method: 'get' } }); }); this works perfectly EXCEPT the width attribute listed above is ignored. No matter what i put in that width attribute, i get the same size width tooltip which is about half of the width that i need. the height is perfectly fine. any ideas? is this a bug in the product ?

  • Running sites on "localhost" is extremeley slow.

    - by seanxe
    Hello all, Having real trouble using my local host to test sites. It runs extremely slow! Sometimes up to a minute to load a page. I'm using firefox and the sites i'm testing run fine on other developers in my office local machines/ on the production server. I've gone through the normal things :- Disabled IPv6 Not running in debug mood Put the site in the highest app pool (High Isolated) on IIS 6. Taking of firewalls etc. The problem only seems to occur when hitting pages which contain some form of .net code in the code-behind. Appreciate that this a little bit of a vague topic / stab in the dark but would appreciate any sort of advice - it's horrible waiting a minute each refresh to try out a change! Cheers, Sean.

  • Dynamic loading a class in java with a different package name

    - by C. Ross
    Is it possible to load a class in Java and 'fake' the package name/canonical name of a class? I tried doing this, the obvious way, but I get a "class name doesn't match" message in a ClassDefNotFoundException. The reason I'm doing this is I'm trying to load an API that was written in the default package so that I can use it directly without using reflection. The code will compile against the class in a folder structure representing the package and a package name import. ie: ./com/DefaultPackageClass.class // ... import com.DefaultPackageClass; import java.util.Vector; // ... My current code is as follows: public Class loadClass(String name) throws ClassNotFoundException { if(!CLASS_NAME.equals(name)) return super.loadClass(name); try { URL myUrl = new URL(fileUrl); URLConnection connection = myUrl.openConnection(); InputStream input = connection.getInputStream(); ByteArrayOutputStream buffer = new ByteArrayOutputStream(); int data = input.read(); while(data != -1){ buffer.write(data); data = input.read(); } input.close(); byte[] classData = buffer.toByteArray(); return defineClass(CLASS_NAME, classData, 0, classData.length); } catch (MalformedURLException e) { throw new UndeclaredThrowableException(e); } catch (IOException e) { throw new UndeclaredThrowableException(e); } }

  • Java loading user-specified classes at runtime

    - by user349043
    I'm working on robot simulation in Java (a Swing application). I have an abstract class "Robot" from which different types of Robots are derived, e.g. public class StupidRobot extends Robot { int m_stupidness; int m_insanityLevel; ... } public class AngryRobot extends Robot { float m_aggression; ... } As you can see, each Robot subclass has a different set of parameters. What I would like to do is control the simulation setup in the initial UI. Choose the number and type of Robots, give it a name, fill in the parameters etc. This is one of those times where being such a dinosaur programmer, and new to Java, I wonder if there is some higher level stuff/thinking that could help me here. So here is what I've got: (1) User Interface Scrolling list of Robot types on the left. "Add " and "<< Remove" buttons in the middle. Default-named scrolling list of Robots on the right. "Set Parameters" button underneath. (So if you wanted an AngryRobot, you'd select AngryRobot on the left list, click "Add" and "AngryRobot1" would show up on the right.) When selecting a Robot on the right, click "Set Parameters..." button which would call yet another model dialog where you'd fill in the parameters. Different dialog called for each Robot type. (2) Data structures an implementation As an end-product I think a HashMap would be most convenient. The keys would be Robot types and the accompanying object would be all of the parameters. The initializer could just retrieve each item one and a time and instantiate. Here's what the data structures would look like: enum ROBOT_TYPE {STUPID, ANGRY, etc} public class RobotInitializer { public ROBOT_TYPE m_type; public string m_name; public int[] m_int_params; public float[] m_float_params; etc. The initializer's constructor would create the appropriate length parameter arrays based on the type: public RobotInitializer(ROBOT_TYPE type, int[] int_array, float[] float_array, etc){ switch (type){ case STUPID: m_int_params = new int[STUPID_INT_PARAM_LENGTH]; System.arraycopy(int_array,0,m_int_params,0,STUPID_INT_PARAM_LENGTH); etc. Once all the RobotInitializers are instantiated, they are added to the HashMap. Iterating through the HashMap, the simulation initializer takes items from the Hashmap and instantiates the appropriate Robots. Is this reasonable? If not, how can it be improved? Thanks

  • Loading and removing images with DOM, Javascript

    - by jesse
    I'm new to DOM and I'm having trouble removing multiple images that I loaded this loads 7 images (1.jpg, 2.jpg, etc..) function loadImages() { for (var i = 1; i < 8; i++ ) { var img = document.createElement("img"); img.src = "images/"+i+".jpg"; var idName = "img"+i+""; document.getElementById(idName).appendChild(img); } } this should remove all of them, but doesn't.. I think it breaks at the removeChild line. function removeImages() { for (var i = 1; i < 8; i++ ) { var idName = "img"+i+""; var d = document.getElementById(idName); d.removeChild(document.getElementById(img)); } } I think I'm doing something fundamentally wrong, because I don't fully understand how this works...

  • Loading saved byte array to memory stream causes out of memory exception

    - by user2320861
    At some point in my program the user selects a bitmap to use as the background image of a Panel object. When the user does this, the program immediately draws the panel with the background image and everything works fine. When the user clicks "Save", the following code saves the bitmap to a DataTable object. MyDataSet.MyDataTableRow myDataRow = MyDataSet.MyDataTableRow.NewMyDataTableRow(); //has a byte[] column named BackgroundImageByteArray using (MemoryStream stream = new MemoryStream()) { this.Panel.BackgroundImage.Save(stream, ImageFormat.Bmp); myDataRow.BackgroundImageByteArray = stream.ToArray(); } Everything works fine, there is no out of memory exception with this stream, even though it contains all the image bytes. However, when the application launches and loads saved data, the following code throws an Out of Memory Exception: using (MemoryStream stream = new MemoryStream(myDataRow.BackGroundImageByteArray)) { this.Panel.BackgroundImage = Image.FromStream(stream); } The streams are the same length. I don't understand how one throws an out of memory exception and the other doesn't. How can I load this bitmap? P.S. I've also tried using (MemoryStream stream = new MemoryStream(myDataRow.BackgroundImageByteArray.Length)) { stream.Write(myDataRow.BackgroundImageByteArray, 0, myDataRow.BackgroundImageByteArray.Length); //throw OoM exception here. }

  • Loading package html + resources into webview

    - by mobileopen
    I would like to know how I can display a HTML page in webview with references to relative/local images. The goal is to have the html page and all linked images contained in the android application package itself. Where would I need to place the assets (assets directory?) and how do I reference these so they load into the webview? Thanx! Sven

  • jQuery colorbox plugin isn't loading inline content

    - by Summer
    Hi, I'm trying to use the jQuery colorbox plugin to show a little warning when a warning icon is clicked. Check out the problem: - Go to http://dev.imagineelection.com/browse/zip/10011 - Click on one of the warning icons (scroll down to see one). See how the colorbox that pops up is empty? I've tried to isolate the problem: - If you click "View Source" -- the div id="address-alert" is in there - If you click "View Generated Source" (for example, with Firefox Web Developer plugin) -- the div id="address-alert" has been taken out, but it has not been replaced inside the new div id="cboxCurrent" that colorbox has put at the top of the page The jQuery call I'm doing is: if (jQuery().colorbox) { $(".warning-class").colorbox({width:"50%", inline:true, href:"#address-alert"}); } What is going on? Why won't the inline content work?
