  In Silverlight project I have this exception when I tried to Add a new object to a DataGrid when a button is clicked. In the DomainService class.. I know I have to implement the Add operation for the new Entity I'm putting, but how can I do that? • MVC Html.ActionLink not passing querystring properly

  This seems like it should be pretty straight forward, but I'm apparently confused. I have a List view that displays a paged list. At the bottom I have a set of actionlinks: <%= Html.ActionLink("First Page", "List", new { page = 1} ) %> &nbsp; <%= Html.ActionLink("Prev Page", "List", new { page = Model.PageNumber - 1 }) %> &nbsp; <%= Html.ActionLink("Next Page", "List", new { page = Model.PageNumber + 1 }) %> &nbsp; <%= Html.ActionLink("Last Page", "List", new { page = Model.LastPage } )%> I'm using the basic default routes setup, except with "List" substituted for "Index": routes.MapRoute( "Default", // Route name "{controller}/{action}/{id}", // URL with parameters new { controller = "Home", action = "List", id = UrlParameter.Optional } // Parameter defaults ); The problem is that the ActionLink helpers are generating links of the form: http://localhost:2083/Retrofit?page=2 rather than http://localhost:2083/Retrofit/?page=2 (with the trailing slash after the controller name & before the query string). When the first URL is routed, it completely loses the query string - if I look at Request.QueryString by the time it gets to the controller, it's null. If I enter the second URL (with the trailing slash), it comes in properly (i.e., QueryString of "page=2"). So how can I either get the ActionLink helper to generate the right URL, or get the Routing to properly parse what ActionLink is generating? Thanks.

  I currently register a content observer on the following URI "content://sms/" to listen out for incoming and outgoing messages being sent.   MSSQL 2008. I am trying to construct a SQL statement which returns the total of column B for all rows where column A is between 2 known ranges. The range is a sliding window, and should be recomputed as it might be using a loop. Here is an example of what I'm trying to do, much simplified from my actual problem. • Entity Framework with MySQL - Timeout Expired while Generating Model

  I've constructed a database in MySQL and I am attempting to map it out with Entity Framework, but I start running into "GenerateSSDLException"s whenever I try to add more than about 20 tables to the EF context. An exception of type 'Microsoft.Data.Entity.Design.VisualStudio.ModelWizard.Engine.ModelBuilderEngine+GenerateSSDLException' occurred while attempting to update from the database. The exception message is: 'An error occurred while executing the command definition. See the inner exception for details.' Fatal error encountered during command execution. Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding. There's nothing special about the affected tables, and it's never the same table(s), it's just that after a certain (unspecific) number of tables have been added, the context can no longer be updated without the "Timeout expired" error. Sometimes it's only one table left over, and sometimes it's three; results are pretty unpredictable. Furthermore, the variance in the number of tables which can be added before the error indicates to me that perhaps the problem lies in the size of the query being generated to update the context which includes both the existing table definitions, and also the new tables that are being added to it. Essentially, the SQL query is getting too large and it's failing to execute for some reason. If I generate the model with EdmGen2 it works without any errors, but the generated EDMX file cannot be updated within Visual Studio without producing the aforementioned exception. In all likelihood the source of this problem lies in the tool within Visual Studio given that EdmGen2 works fine, but I'm hoping that perhaps others could offer some advice on how to approach this very unique issue, because it seems like I'm not the only person experiencing it. One suggestion a colleague offered was maintaining two separate EBMX files with some table crossover, but that seems like a pretty ugly fix in my opinion. I suppose this is what I get for trying to use "new technology". :(

• Cannot get Correct month for a call from call log history

As su, removing /data/data/com.opera.browser/opera/profiles/smartphone/cookies4.dat /data/data/com.opera.browser/opera/profiles/smartphone/cache /data/data/com.opera.browser/opera/profiles/smartphone/cacheO and a /system/xbin/busybox killall -9 com.opera.browser afterwards doesn't seem to do the job. Afterwards, bookmarks etc. are still there. In Opera Mini I found it easy to just delete /data/data/com.opera.mini.android/cache/webviewCache /data/data/com.opera.mini.android/databases but unfortunately, Opera Mini in it's current version has a bug and doesn't work on most devices.

  I read about the CRIME attack against TLS Compression (CRIME is a successor to the BEAST attack against ssl & tls), and I want to protect my webservers against this attack by disabling SSL Compression, which was added to Apache 2.2.22 (See Bug 53219). I am running Scientific Linux 6.1, which ships with httpd-2.2.15. • OAuth with Google Reader API using Objective C

  I'm using the gdata OAuth controllers to get an OAuth token and then signing my requests as instructed. [auth authorizeRequest:myNSURLMutableRequest] It works great for GET requests but POSTs are failing with 401 errors. I knew I wouldn't be able to remain blissfully ignorant of the OAuth magic. The Google Reader API requires parameters in the POST body. OAuth requires those parameters to be encoded in the signature like they were on the query string. It doesn't appear the gdata library does this. I tried hacking it in the same way it handles the query string but no luck. This is so difficult to debug as all I get is a 401 from the Google black box and I'm left to guess. I really want to use OAuth so I don't have to collect login credentials from my users but I'm about to scrap it and go with the simpler cookie based authentication that is more mature. It's possible I'm completely wrong about the reason it's failing. This is my best guess. Any suggestions for getting gdata to work or maybe an alternative iphone friendly OAuth library?

• Common Table Expressions slow when using a table variable

  I have been experimenting with the following (simplified) CTE. When using a table variable () the query runs for minutes before I cancel it. Any of the other commented out methods return in less than a second. If I replace the whole WHERE clause with an INNER JOIN it is fast as well. Any ideas why using a table variable would run so slowly? FWIW: The database contains 2.5 million records and the inner query returns 2 records. • crystal reports : cannot determine the queries necessary to get data for this report

  I've recently come across the following error in one of my crystal reports following an accounting system update. Group #1: ? - A : This group section cannot be printed because its condition field is nonexistent or invalid. Format the section to choose another condition field. I've verified every database field being used to ensure it still exists for consistency and checked the formulas for that section. No dice. So to hopefully fix the problem, i remove the section using the Section expert. I run the same database checks. It then complains with the same error for Group #5. So i remove that as well. now I have a new and unusual error when i attempt to run 'Show Query'. the error is: "Cannot determine the queries necessary to get data for this report" I have tried to logon/logoff the database and verify database. No complaints until i try to run, show query. When I attempt to run the report, it also throws the same error. any ideas? Am I approaching this incorrectly? this is done in crystal reports 10. note: this report is run with the sql sa user to eliminate any permission issues.

• MinGW tar compression problem

  I am unable to get the Mingw tar to work with compress files. It does not filter through the proper compression utility. However, tar will work if I manually uncompress the file first. I have tried in both the MSYS shell and Windows cmd. Has anyone had this problem or is it a MinGW bug?   Tomcat beginner question that I hope will help many. Could someone explain how TomCat hot deploy is supposed to work. We have a currently deployed 'TomCatTest', and we want to fix a small bug in 'TomCatTest' with no downtime for users. We are using the Tomcat Manager console, and just trying to upload a file there. • How do I resolve the message "Validating WSFC quorum vote configuration - Action Required."

  I have a 3 node AlwaysOn Availability Group on a 3 node WSFC using node majority. 2 nodes are setup as synchronous with automatic fail-over, the 3rd is setup as asynchronous with manual fail-over. When I try to fail-over using the GUI, I get a warning as shown in the screenshot. There is no warning or error if I fail-over with T-SQL. Adding a file share to the quorum doesn't help. The only way I can resolve the warning is to remove the asynchronous sql instance from the 3rd node (it remains part of the WSFC). Either way, the AlwaysOn dashboard says quorum is OK. Am I missing something? Is this a bug in the GUI that I should just ignore? Clicking "Action Required" gives the following error:

In particular, the query executes quickly (say 100 ms), but finding the size of the resulting List< takes about one second! Indeed, whatever operation I try to perform on the resulting list takes about a second. Has anybody seen this behavior? Is it expected? Unusual? Any way around it?   I am currently using the DevBridge jQuery Autocomplete plugin - it works fine as is, however I would like to display the returned information in a multi-column view, but yet when clicked only return the first value. Since it's a non-fatal error , there is no crash and all seems to works fine..but i don't like the error. If i close the cursor at the end of this code..the listview stay's empty. if i close the cursor in onStop , i get the same error. • Multiple choice list with custom view?

  I've seen example com.example.android.apis.view.List11 from ApiDemos. In that example, each row takes the view android.R.simple_list_item_multiple_choice. Each such view has a TextView and a CheckBox. Now I want each view to have 2 TextView's and 1 CheckBox, somewhat similar to the List3 example. Also, I need to click exactly on the checkbox. In the List11 example, I only need to click on the item row. So what do I need to do to make a multiple choice list with my custom view for each row? • Why doesn't Data Driven Subscription in SSRS 2005 like my Stored Procedure?

  I'm trying to define a Data Driven Subscription for a report in SSRS 2005. In Step 3 of the set up you're asked for: " a command or query that returns a list of recipients and optionally returns fields used to vary delivery settings and report parameter values for each recipient" This I have written and it returns the data without a hitch. I press next and it rolls onto the next screen in the set up which has all the variables to set for the DDS and in each case it has an option to "Select Value From Database" I select this radio button and press the drop down. No fields are available to me. Now the only way I could vary the number of parameters returned by the SP was to have the SP write the SQL to an nvarchar variable and then at the end execute the variable as sql. I have tested this in the Management Studio and it returns the expected fields. I even named them after the fields in SSRS but the thing won't put the field names into the dropdowns. I've even taken the query body out of the Stored Proc, verified it in SSRS and then tried that. It doesn't work either. Can anyone shed any light into what I'm doing wrong?

  Hello all, the current SQL query works fine locally on MAMP 1.8.4 running MySQL 5.1.37. SELECT EL.log_actions, EL.log_date, EL.log_value, EL.log_type, EA.admins_name, EU.users_name, EU.users_matric FROM events_log EL JOIN events_users EU USING (users_id) JOIN events_admins EA USING (admins_id) ORDER BY EL.log_id DESC LIMIT 0, 10 However, when I bring this query live to production server which is running MySQL 4.1.22-standard, the following error occurred (whether or not there are data in the entry). A Database Error Occurred Error Number: 1054 Unknown column 'sceclub_exclaim2007.EU.admins_id' in 'on clause' SELECT EL.log_actions, EL.log_date, EL.log_value, EL.log_type, EA.admins_name, EU.users_name, EU.users_matric FROM events_log EL JOIN events_users EU USING (users_id) JOIN events_admins EA USING (admins_id) ORDER BY EL.log_id DESC LIMIT 0, 20 This is based on CodeIgniter 1.7.2 and both production and development are running the same set of database.
