• Setting property default values for a Web User Control

  I am trying to build a web user control and set some default values for its properties in the code-behind like this: [DefaultValue(typeof(int), "50")] public int Height { get; set; } [DefaultValue(typeof(string), "string.Empty")] public string FamilyName { get; set; } [DefaultValue(typeof(Color), "Orange")] public System.Drawing.Color ForeColor { get; set; } When I add the user control to the page and call it without any properties: <uc1:Usercontrol ID="uc" runat="server" /> the default values are not set and every property is 0 or null. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

• Typed DefaultListModel to avoid casting

  Is there a way in java to have a ListModel that only accepts a certain type? What I'm looking for is something like DefaultListModel<String> oder TypedListModel<String>, because the DefaultListModel only implements addElement(Object obj) and get(int index) which returns Object of course. That way I always have to cast from Object to e.g. String and there is no guarantee that there are only strings in my model, even though I'd like to enforce that. Is this a flaw or am I using list models the wrong way?

But if the thread is in a while loop, it will cause the heavy memory leak. As I use taskmanage I can see the memory is increasing.   Hello, I am using a fileContentResult to render a file to the browser. It works well except that it throws an exception when the fileName contains international characters. I remember reading somewhere that this feature does not support international characters but I am sure there mustbe a workaround or a best practice people follow in cases the application needs to upload files in countries other than US. • Parsing a dynamic value with Lift-JSON

  Let me explain this question with an example. If I have a JSON like the following: {"person1":{"name": "Name One", "address": {"street": "Some Street","city": "Some City"}}, "person2":{"name": "Name Two", "address": {"street": "Some Other Street","city": "Some Other City"}}} [There is no restriction on the number of persons, the input JSON can have many more persons] I could extract this JSON to Persons object by doing var persons = parse(res).extract[T] Here are the related case classes: case class Address(street: String, city: String) case class Person(name: String, address: Address, children: List[Child]) case class Persons(person1: Person, person2: Person) Question: The above scenario works perfectly fine. However the need is that the keys are dynamic in the key/value pairs. So in the example JSON provided, person1 and person2 could be anything, I need to read them dynamically. What's the best possible structure for Persons class to account for that dynamic nature.

• Crystal Report Function for converting Seconds to Timespan format.

  I have a crystal report where it shows the Agent's activities throughout the day with a pie chart. In the details section it is displaying: Activity [string] StartedAt [DateTime] EndedAt [DateTime] Duration [The difference between EndedAt and StartedAt in seconds - Integer] Report data is GroupedBy Activity and summarized by Duration. Currently Duration is shown in seconds but I need to format it 02h:30m:22s:15ms. For that I wrote a custom function in Crystal Report in the Formula Workshop editor as follows, but it looks like the syntax is not right (Error message on keyword Long: "A variable type (for example, 'String') is missing."). Can someone help? • getting the Contact's Birthday of a HTC Sense phone

  I am not sure, but probably HTC Sense does the following, syncs my Facebook contacts to my phone along with their mobile number and their birthday. This shows well in the agenda and the user panel. But as it turns out it doesn't use the standard SDK way to store the birthdays.   I need to map to create controller what must response to two urls: "http://localhost/api/controller?id=1" (where only id value can change) "http://localhost/api/controller/anotherId/someconst" (where anotherId is the only one changing part) i map it to such route: routes.MapHttpRoute("Test", "api/{controller}/{id}/{someconst}", new { controller = "Test", someconst = RouteParameter.Optional }); And have to methods in my controller: public void Get(int id) { ... } public void Get(int anotherId, string someconst ) { ... } It works...But it doesn't look nice...cause "string someconst" is not a param, it's just a const part of url. But if i remove "string someconst" param second url wouldn't work. Is it possible to map one controller to two routes to resolve this urls to make it clear without fake param which is a const in fact?

• Change connection on the fly

  Hello, I have a SQL server with 50 databases. Each one has the exact same schema. I used the awesome Subsonic 2.2 create the DAL based on one of them. I need to loop though a list of database names and connect to each one and perform an update one at a time. If there a way to alter how subsonic uses the connection string. I believe I would need to store the connection string in memory that way it can keep changing. Is this possible? I tried doing a ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["theConnStrName"].ConnectionString = updated-connection-string-here; .. but that did not work thanks!

  I'm attempting to create a custom jsp tag. Everything is working fine, except for the fact that I the request seems to be out-of-scope for my custom function. • Randomly generate sound from onClick and onShake events?

  I've literally looked everywhere on the net and found very little clarification on how to do this. Pretty much, I have 8 sound files laid out in an array.xml file and I need to play a randomly chosen file ONCE per or onClick or onShake. First off, what technique should I use to achieve this? ARRAY-RANDOM- STRING-PLAY? RANDOM INT-PLAY? RANDOM INT-STRING-PLAY? Any kind of direction will help greatly cause I'm almost 3 weeks worth of research into this. *NOTE: MediaPlayer mp = MediaPlayer.create(JelloMan.this, R.raw.sound) ...is what I'm stuck on being you can't replace the "R.raw" part with a string...

• How does formatting works with a PowerShell function that returns a set of elements?

But even if only 8 columns are shown, there are plenty of other properties (as foo | gm is showing). What is causing this function to show only this 8 properties? I'm actually trying to build a similar function that is returning complex objects from a 3rd party .Net library. The library is flatting a 2 level hierarchy of objects : function Actual { $someDotnetObject.ACollectionProperty.ASecondLevelCollection | % { $_ } } This method is dumping the objects in a list form (one line per property). How can I control what is displayed, keeping the actual object available?   I have a problem with saving the £ symbol to a mysql database. I am running a flex front end, with a php + mysql backend When I save a record from flex, the string gets sent to the server as "This amount is £10" php views the string as above, and when it gets saved into the DB, it gets saved as "This amount is £10". My understanding is that this is correct based on MySQL or PHP is appending a  whenever the £ is used I now retrieve the above record, and it gets sent to flex as "This amount is £10". Flex correctly displays this in a textarea as "This amount is £10" I change another field in the same record in flex, and re-save the transaction. The string now gets sent to the server as "This amount is £10" The record is now saved into the DB as "The amount is £10". Each time the record is re-saved, this effect snowballs. Thanks for any advice you can give.

  I am trying to create a Soap Web Service Client using the Visual C# 2008 Express IDE. I Do that by Right-Clicking Project Name-Add service Reference. Everything is working out fine, and the client is being generated as follows [System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapDocumentMethodAttribute("operationInfo", RequestElementName="mainInfoTag", RequestNamespace="http://www.example.com/test", ResponseElementName="Answer", ResponseNamespace="http://www.example.com/test", Use=System.Web.Services.Description.SoapBindingUse.Literal, ParameterStyle=System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapParameterStyle.Wrapped)] [return: System.Xml.Serialization.XmlElementAttribute("somenewID")] public string storeWarrantyInformation(tagBelowMainInfoTag tag, out string somenewID, out string someotherID) As you can see, the method is marked with SoapParameterStyle.Wrapped, what this is does is that it does not create a class corresponding "mainInfoTag". The Questions I have is what determines the Client SoapParameterStyle in the proxy class. I would like to get SoapParamterStyle as Bare, so that I have access to the root XML element. Is there some setting I can specify in the IDE or through 'wsdl.exe' to make this happen.
