  • Reduce size and change text color of the bootstrap-datepicker field

    Programing an Android application based on HTML5/JQuery launching in a web view, I'm using the Eternicode's bootstrap-datepicker. BTW I'm using Jquery 1.9.1 and Bootstrap 2.3.2 with bootstrap-responsive. The picker is working fine but unfortunately I get yet two issues which I was not able to solve at this time: the picker theme is not respected and some dates are not readable (see the attached picture). Some there is css conflict such as the datepicker's font is displayed white on white background. I'm not able to reduce the size of the date picker field such as it holds on alone row.   • VS2010 and CSS: What is the best strategy to individually position form controls

    OK, I have a ton of controls on my page that I need to individually place. I need to set a margin here, a padding there, etc. None of these particular styles that I want to apply will be applied to more than control. What is the bets practice for determining at which level the style is placed, etc? OK, my choices are 1) External CSS file 1A) Using ClientIdMode = Auto (the default) I could assign a unique CssClass value to the ASP.NET control and, in the external CSS file, create a class selector that would only be applied to that one control. 1B) User Client ID = Predicatable In the external CSS file, I could determine what the ID will be for the controls of interest and create an ID selector (#ControlID{Style} ). However, I fear maintenance issues due to including/removing parent containers that would cause the ID to change. 1C) User Client ID = Static. I could choose static IDs for the controls such that I minimize the likelihood of a clash with auto generated IDs (perhaps by prefixing the ID with "StaticID_" and use an external stylesheet with ID selectors. 2) I could place the style right on the control. The only disadvantage here, as I see it, is that style info is brought down each time instead of being cached , which is what I'd get using an external CSS. If a style isn't resused, I personally don't see much benefit to placing it in an external file, though please explain why if you disagree. Is there moire of a reason that "It's nice to have all the CSS in one place?"

    Here are my schematic models: class Law(models.Model): ... class Bill(models.Model): ... # data for a proposed law, or change of an existing law class PrivateBill(Bill): ... # data for a Bill that was initiated by a parliament member class GovernmentBill(Bill): ... # data for a Bill that was initiated by the government It is possible and likely that in the future I (or maybe someone else) would want to add more Bill types. Every Bill should point to a Law (indicating what law this bill is going to change) and my question is: What is the best way to implement this? If I add the ForeignKey(Law) to Bill, I'll have a relation from every Bill to Law, but a Law would only have an inverse relation to Bills (bill_set), and not a different inverse relation to each type of bill. Of course I'll be able to filter each type of bill to get only the ones pointing to a specific Law, but this is something I think I'll need to use often, so I think having privatebill_set, governmentbill_set etc would make the code more readable. Another possible solution is to add the foreign key to each of the inheriting classes (this would give me a privatebill_set, governmentbill_set, futurebill_set), but that seems hairy because I would be relying on future programmers to remember to add that relation. How would you solve this?

  • Altering lazy-loaded object's private variables

    I'm running into an issue with private setters when using NHibernate and lazy-loading. Let's say I have a class that looks like this: public class User { public int Foo {get; private set;} public IList<User> Friends {get; set;} public void SetFirstFriendsFoo() { // This line works in a unit test but does nothing during a live run with // a lazy-loaded Friends list Users(0).Foo = 1; } } The SetFirstFriendsFoo call works perfectly inside a unit test (as it should since objects of the same type can access each others private properties). However, when running live with a lazy-loaded Friends list, the SetFirstFriendsFoo call silently fails. I'm guessing the reason for this is because at run-time, the Users(0).Foo object is no longer of type User, but of a proxy class that inherits from User since the Friends list was lazy-loaded. My question is this: shouldn't this generate a run-time exception? You get compile-time exceptions if you try to access another class's private properties, but when you run into a situation like this is looks like the app just ignores you and continues along its way.

    Trying to figure out how to best handle the following scenario: Assume a RequestContext class which has a dependency to an external service, such as: public class RequestContext : IRequestContext { private readonly ServiceFactory<IWeatherService> _weatherService; public RequestContext(ServiceFactory<IWeatherService> weatherService, UserLocation location, string query) { _weatherService = weatherService; ... What sort of dependency should I require in the class that will ultimately instantiate RequestContext? It could be ServiceFactory<IWeatherService>, but that doesn't seem right, or I could create an IRequestContextFactory for it along the lines of: public class RequestContextFactory : IRequestContextFactory { private readonly ServiceFactory<IWeatherService> _weatherService; public RequestContextFactory(ServiceFactory<IWeatherService> weatherService) { _weatherService = weatherService; } public RequestContext Create(UserLocation location, string query) { return new RequestContext(_weatherService, location, query); } } And then pass the IRequestContextFactory through constructor injection. This seems like a good way to do it, but the problem with this approach is that I think it hinders discoverability (devs must know about the factory and implement it, which is not really apparent). Is there a better/more discoverable way that I'm missing?

I've created a simple logging class: public class AOPLogger{ public void logBefore(){ System.out.println("Logging Before!"); } } My Spring configuration (beans.xml): <aop:config> <aop:aspect id="aopLogger" ref="test.aop.AOPLogger"> <aop:before method="logBefore" pointcut="execution(* test.rest.RestService(..))"/> </aop:aspect> </aop:config> <bean id="aopLogger" class="test.aop.AOPLogger"/> I always get an NPE in RestService when a call is made to a Method getServletRequest(), which has: return messageContext.getHttpServletRequest(); If I remove the aop configuration or comment it out from my beans.xml, everything works fine. All of my actual Rest services extend test.rest.RestService (which is a class) and call getServletRequest(). I'm just trying to just get AOP up and running based off of the example in the CXF JAX-RS documentation. Does anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!

  • Updated - Having trouble making a circled button in android

    I'm trying to use an image as a button. The image is an oval/circle, so when I set it as the background there's basically a black box with the image on top of it. How can I fix this?   • How do I get the collection of Model State Errors in ASP.NET MVC?

    How do I get the collection of errors in a view? I don't want to use the Html Helper Validation Summary or Validation Message. Instead I want to check for errors and if any display them in specific format. Also on the input controls I want to check for a specific property error and add a class to the input. P.S. I'm using the Spark View Engine but the idea should be the same. So I figured I could do something like... <if condition="${ModelState.Errors.Count > 0}"> DispalyErrorSummary() </if> ....and also... <input type="text" value="${Model.Name}" class="?{ModelState.Errors["Name"] != string.empty} error" /> .... Or something like that. UPDATE My final solution looked like this: <input type="text" value="${ViewData.Model.Name}" class="text error?{!ViewData.ModelState.IsValid && ViewData.ModelState["Name"].Errors.Count() > 0}" id="Name" name="Name" /> This only adds the error css class if this property has an error.

  • Handle cases where Nhibernate subclass does not exist

    I have a scenario where I am using nhibernate to map records from one table to several different derived classes based on a discriminator. public class BaseClass { } public class DerivedClass0 : BaseClass { } public class DerivedClass1 : BaseClass { } public class DerivedClass2 : BaseClass { } I then use nhibernate's DiscriminateSubClassesOnColumn() method and alter the configuration to include <subclass name="DerivedClass0" extends="BaseClass" discriminator-value="discriminator0" /> <subclass name="DerivedClass1" extends="BaseClass" discriminator-value="discriminator1" /> <subclass name="DerivedClass2" extends="BaseClass" discriminator-value="discriminator2" /> so that when mapped, these classes are cast to their derived classes and not BaseClass. However, there are some records in my database which have a discriminator which does not have a corresponding subclass. In these cases, nHibernate throws an error: "Object with id: 'xxx' was not of the specified subclass..." Is there some way I can handle this, so that any records which do not have a corresponding subclass are cast to BaseClass rather than an error being thrown? I have simplified the above as much as possible, however it is worth noting that the XML is edited dynamically which is why I am referencing fluent nhibernate [DiscriminateSubClassesOnColumn()] and XML at the same time. The following things (which would help) are not an option: I cannot correct the data to remove records which are invalid I cannot create subclasses for those records which do not have one I need to handle cases where nHibernate tries to map on a discriminator and finds that one does not exist.

  • Can I use a property placeholder with Spring EL?

    Before upgrading to Spring 3 I had this in my applicationContext.xml file: <bean class="com.northgateis.pole.ws.PolePayloadValidatingInterceptor"> <property name="validateRequest" value="${validateRequest}" /> <property name="validateResponse" value="${validateResponse}" /> </bean> where ${validateRequest) and ${validateRequest) refer to properties that may or may not be defined in my properties file. In Spring 2, if these proeprties were not present in the properties file the setters on the bean were not called and so the defaults hard-coded in PolePayloadValidatingInterceptor were used.     Hi, we're developing a software to control a scientific measuring device. it provides a COM-Interface defines serveral functions to set measurement parameters and fires an event when it measured data. in order to test our software, i'm implementing a simulation of that device. the com-object runs a loop which periodically fires the event. another loop in the client app should now setup up the com-simulator using the given functions. i created a class for measuring parameters which will be instanciated when setting up a new measurement. // COM-Object public class MeasurementParams { public double Param1; public double Param2; } public class COM_Sim : ICOMDevice { public MeasurementParams newMeasurement; IClient client; public int NewMeasurement() { newMeasurment = new MeasurementParam(); } public int SetParam1(double val) { // why is newMeasurement null when method is called from client loop newMeasurement.Param1 = val; } void loop() { while(true) { // fire event client.HandleEvent; } } } public class Client : IClient { ICOMDevice server; public int HandleEvent() { // handle this event server.NewMeasurement(); server.SetParam1(0.0); } void loop() { while(true) { // do some stuff... server.NewMeasurement(); server.SetParam1(0.0); } } } both of the loops run in independent threads. when server.NewMeasurement() is called, the object on the server is set to a new instance. but in the next function, the object is null again. do the same when handling the server-event, it works perfectly, because the method runs in the servers thread. how to make it work from client-thread as well. as the client is meant to be working with the real device, i cannot modify the interfaces given by the manufactor. also i need to setup measurements independent from the event-handler, which will be fired not regulary. i assume this problem related to multithreaded-COM behavior but i found nothing on this topic.

    Under my project, I have a Java class file, inside of which I have a routine which executes the following external SFTP script file: #!/bin/sh echo "cd AV/OASIS" >> sftp echo "put $1 $2" >> sftp echo "get AV/OASIS/$2 $3$2" >> sftp echo "bye" >> sftp /usr/local/bin/sftp -b sftp id@domain cat /dev/null > sftp exit 0 The Java code which executes the script file is as below: String script = "full path of script"; Process p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(script + " " + param1 + " " + param2 + " " + param3); However, I'm not sure why, but the log generated by the class file always shows the error "Host key verification failed. Connection closed." I'd isolated that line in the script which connected to the remote machine, and ran it on the local machine (where this class file and script file are stored), and the command executed successfully I'd manually run the command which the Java class file will execute and it also tested okay: $ script.sh param1 param2 param3 I'd tried to look up the error message on the Internet, and apparently it seems to have something to do with known_hosts. Could this be the reason, or is there something else I'm missing? Thanks so much!

    Maybe its something stupid, but I'm having a problem with a subclass of a DataGridView Control in VS2005 C#. I know I can subclass from almost anything by doing public class MyDataGridView : DataGridView {} no problem, and I put in some things / elements I want applicable globally. Now, I take this gridview and put into a custom user control that will contain other controls too. So I have something like created by the visual designer. I grab some buttons, label, and my derived "MyDataGridView" on it. public partial class MyCompoundDGVPlus : UserControl So, now, I can visually draw, move, change all sorts of settings as needed, no problem. Now, I want this "MyCompoundDGVPlus" class as the basis for other classes, of which I will manipulate settings specific, but want all to have the same look / feel, and otherwise similar flow, hence the derivations. I've even set the "modifiers" setting to public, so I SHOULD be able to modify any of the properties of the controls at any derived level. So, now, I create a new subclass of "MyFirstDetailedDGVPlus" derived from "MyCompoundDGVPlus". Ok visually, all the label, button, datagridview appear. However, now I want to specifically define the columns of the datagridview here in this class visually, but its locked. However, the LABEL on the form, I CAN get all the property settings.... What am I missing.

    I'm using Django 1.1.1 on a SQL Server 2005 db using the latest sqlserver_ado library. models.py includes: class Project(models.Model): name = models.CharField(max_length=50) class Thing(models.Model): project = models.ForeignKey(Project) reference = models.CharField(max_length=50) class ThingMonth(models.Model): thing = models.ForeignKey(Thing) timestamp = models.DateTimeField() ThingMonthValue = models.FloatField() class Meta: db_table = u'ThingMonthSummary' In a view, I have retrieved a queryset called 'things' which contains 25 Things: things = Thing.objects.select_related().filter(project=1).order_by('reference') I then want to do an aggregate query to get the average ThingMonthValue for the first 20 of those Things for a certain period, and the same value for the last 5. For the first 20 I do: averageThingMonthValue = ThingMonth.objects.filter(turbine__in=things[:20],timestamp__range="2009-01-01 00:00","2010-03-00:00")).aggregate(Avg('ThingMonthValue'))['ThingMonthValue__avg'] This works fine, and returns the desired value. For the last 5 I do: averageThingMonthValue = ThingMonth.objects.filter(turbine__in=things[20:],timestamp__range="2009-01-01 00:00","2010-03-00:00")).aggregate(Avg('ThingMonthValue'))['ThingMonthValue__avg'] But for this I get an SQL error: 'Only one expression can be specified in the select list when the subquery is not introduced with EXISTS.' The SQL query being used by django reads: SELECT AVG([ThingMonthSummary].[ThingMonthValue]) AS [ThingMonthValue__avg] FROM [ThingMonthSummary] WHERE ([ThingMonthSummary].[thing_id] IN (SELECT _row_num, [id] FROM ( SELECT ROW_NUMBER() OVER ( ORDER BY [AAAA].[id] ASC) as _row_num, [AAAA].[id] FROM ( SELECT U0.[id] FROM [Thing] U0 WHERE U0.[project_id] = 1 ) AS [AAAA]) as QQQ where 20 < _row_num) AND [ThingMonthSummary].[timestamp] BETWEEN '01/01/09 00:00:00' and '03/01/10 00:00:00') Any idea why it works for one slice of the Things and not the second? I've checked and the two slices do contain the desired Things correctly.

What am I doing wrong?

  • Using FBML in a ruby sinatra app

    Hi, I'm building an application in ruby using the sinatra framework and am having trouble with rendering some fbml elements. I'm currently trying to render an fb:multi-friend-selector so the user can select which friends they want to invite. However, when I write the following in my code: <fb:fbml> <fb:request-form action="/inviteFriends" method="POST" invite="true" type="MY APP" content="Invite Friends" > <fb:multi-friend-selector showborder="false" actiontext="Invite your friends to use YOUR APP NAME."> </fb:request-form> </fb:fbml> Nothing renders with the text above. I've included the regular facebook xsds for the taglibs in my html tag and have tested fbml on the page using the following code: <fb:name useyou="false" uid="USER_ID" linked="false"/> This code works correctly and displays the user's name. I've tried a simple example like that on http://wiki.developers.facebook.com/index.php/Fb:random but again nothing is rendered in the browser. Do I need to include some special javascript or anything? I would greatly appreciate some help with this. Thanks in advance -gearoid.
