  I am devloping smart device application in C#. In this application I have some images in my application which I used to dispay on emulator from my application. To display the images on emulator I need to create the one folder of images which resides on the emulator. Only after that I am able to display the images in emulator. I am able to create the folder in emulator by using File-Configure-General-Shared Folder. For sharing the folder I am giving the path of the folder which contains the images. Once I share the folder the folder of images which resides in my application will get copied in emulator with the name "Storage Card". Now I need to use the path as Bitmap bmp=new Bitmap(@"/Storage Card/ImageName.jpg"); Now I am able to display the images in emulator. Can we display the images in the emulator without any image folder which resides on emultor (so that we dont need to place the image folder in emulator as in the above case by sharing the folder) ? If the answere is no then to run the application on different mobile devices we need to place the folder which contains the images on different mobile devices. Isnt it? If the answere is yes then how we can display the images on different mobile device from our application without placing any folder of images on mobile devices?

  I have a MasterViewController displaying Items. Selecting an Item (ItemA), displays images of ItemA in a DetailViewController. The DeatilViewController contains a scrollView, displaying all the images. When tableView:didSelectRowAtIndexPath is called, the images is added to an UIImageView, that is tagged and added as a subview to a scrollview. But when I go back to the MasterViewController, and selects a ItemB, the ItemA is still displayed, like the iPhone simulator refuses to forget the previous scrollview,containing ItemA images. I have tried [subview removeFromSuperview]; which results in either no scrollview at all, or no effect. Depending on when this method is called. How can I "reset" the scrollview for the next Item?

• Event is causing an error, but I can't catch the exception

  A developer has created a custom control in ASP.NET using VB.NET. The custom control uses a repeater. In certain scenarios, the rpt_ItemDataBound event is encountering a data error. My goal is rather than having the user see the yellow screen of death, give the user a friendlier error explaining exactly what the data error is. I figured I would be able to use a Try/Catch block as shown below throw the exception, however, it appears that the event has nowhere to be thrown to and stops executing at the "End Try" line. • Badword filter in PHP?

  I am writing a badword filter in PHP. I have a list of badwords in an array and the method cleanse_text() is written like this: public static function cleanse_text($originalstring){ if (!self::$is_sorted) self::doSort(); return str_ireplace(self::$badwords, '****', $originalstring); } This works trivially, for exact matches, but I wanted to also censor words that have been disguised like 'ab*d' where 'abcd' is a bad word. This is proving to be a bit more difficult. Here are my questions: Is a badword filter worth bothering with (it is a site for professionals so a certain minimum decorum is required - I would have thought) Is it worth the hustle of trying to capture obvious work arounds like 'f*ck' - or should I not attempt to filter those out. Is there a better way of writing the cleanse_text() method above?

• Google Maps Controls panel size is displayed wrong

  I have a weird problem with Google Maps Control. I've tested in a blank page my custom maps with custom markers and everything seems to be ok, also with the control panel. When I tried to import all my code in the page I'm working with ( I use a full screen fluid grid system ) the control panel is displayed with strange size. I tried everything for disable/enable the ui of the Google Maps but the problem remain. The code of my maps are exactly the same, both in my blank page and in my site, but in the site the ui control panel is displayed very strange. • Joomla ImageBrowser Lightbox not working

  I've been using an image browser for Joomla called ImageBrowser. It's great - easy uploads, easy for clients to use, even handles zip file uploads. I have Joomla v. 1.5.15 installed and the newest version of this plugin as well on 3 or 4 of our sites with no fuss or issues. Recently, the ImageBrowser on one of our sites started acting strangely. It was as if the Lightbox effect that we should have disappeared completely. I compared the settings for the site to another and found they were identical. I couldn't find a solution in the documentation or forums. Here's the URL to look at: http://neda.us/photos?view=gallery&folder=BSU+12-5-09. You can compare that to another of our sites with the same plugin and settings at South Oak Floors dot COM. You should be able to click on a thumbnail and get a full size view of the image in a Lightbox. Any help much needed and much appreciated.

  I am trying to troubleshoot this code and am running into a dead-end, so I thought I would ask my first question here. I have three questions: 1) What is the best approach to embed an mp4 for an iPhone specific view, preferably without using Javascript? 2) Are there any preferred practices to debug code on an iPhone? 3) Can anyone tell me what is wrong with my specific code below? I should mention upfront that the variable $fileName does indeed contain the correct info, I've just omitted that portion of the code. Also, the poster image does flicker for a brief moment before I receive the greyed out, broken QuickTime image so that is an indication that this is partially working.   I can't seem to get this to work. • Why can't IE6 shows semi transparent png8 files with alpha filter ?

  -- read the whole question before answering -- Hi, i work on a big website that had a lot (45000+) of png24 images (with semi transparency). I converted them to png8 and it works very well (a big help on page load time...). The thing is i had to keep png24 files for ie6 users (with alpha filter to have semi transparent pixels) because we all know that we can't use png 8 semi transparent images in IE6 : either the semi transparent pixels will be opaque or completely transparent. I tried to use the alpha image loader filter with png8 images but it just don't work, the pixels are still opaque/completely transparent, no semi transparency. What's the reason it's not working ? Is there a difference for IE when dealing with semi transparent pixels from a png24 or from a png8 ? I couldn't find any information on msdn websites or on stackoverflow... This is crazy... ! DISCLAIMER : i'm not searching for a f**ckin fix IE6 png or sh*t like that, i already know alpha image loader or htc techniques etc, theses all works well with PNG24 files but doesn't work with png8 files.

• Tiny MCE (jquery plugin version) not showing toolbar in IE (works fine in other browsers)

  I had an implementation working well but for some reason IE decided it was tired of playing nice. I have an advanced implementation of TinyMCE (the jquery plugin version - see http://tinymce.moxiecode.com/examples/example_23.php for details). It still works great in all browsers but IE. In IE it shows the drop-down options for Format, Font family, and Font size, but only as text.. not as a drop down normally looks. All other buttons on the toolbar are missing. (I've tried IE8 and IE8 Compatibility Mode) I get a javascript error: Syntax error Line 36 Char 1. Unfortunately the javascript is being loaded dynamically so this doesn't help me. • IE8: weird border around HTML button element

  I have a button element with a custom background (image+color) and no borders except for a 2px border-bottom (and a bunch of other properties --code below) which renders quite differently in Firefox and in IE8. The problem is, this is a work for a company that uses IE8 as their only browser, so it's important that the button renders well in IE8. Here's a visual comparison between the two: My question here is not about the padding difference (I'm looking into that), but about the weird border that is visible on IE8 in addition to the regular border (border-bottom). Can anyone explain to me where it comes from and how to get rid of it? Thanks in advance. • Writing to the DataContext

  I have a function. This function takes an IEnumerable<Customer> (Customer being an entity). What the function needs to do is tell the DataContext (which has a collection of Customers as a property) that its Customers property needs to be overwritten with this passed in IEnumerable<Customer>. I can't use assignment because DomainContext.Customers cannot be assigned to, as it is read only. I guess it's not clear what I'm asking, so I suppose I should say... how do I do that? So we have DataContext.Customers (of type System.Data.Linq.Table) which wants to be replaced with a System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable. I can't just assign the latter to the former because DataContext's properties are read only. But there must be a way. Edit: here's an image: Further edit: Yes, this image does not feature a collection of the type 'Customer' but rather 'Connection'. It doesn't matter though, they are both created from tables within the linked SQL database. So there is a dc.Connections, a dc.Customers, a dc.Media and so on. Thanks in advance.

  I have this string in PHP Hopelessly Incredible |SPG:M| 766 STEAM_0:1:20130600 " banned "A Blatantly Obvious Hacker 740 STEAM_0:1:55386073 " (minutes "0") (reason "Multi-Hack") The Format of the string is: Name1 Number(0-3 digits) Steam_0:x:xxxx offense (banned/kicked/mute etc) Name2 Number(0-3 digits) Steam_0:x:xxxx time reason My goal is to remove the values 766 and 740 because it is just garbage. Those values can have single, double, and triple digits. The next step would be to strip STEAM_0:1:20130600 and STEAM_0:1:55386073 out of the string and capture it in a new variable. The only constant is STEAM_0: the rest can change. I am still learning regex but I fear this is a bit complicated for me to do. Some guidance would be most appreciative.

The code works fine but when I access the server via browser, the image is not displayed. The html of the page is as intended though. The permissions on the files are 755. Also I tried to create an index.html file in the do_GET method. That didn't work either. I mean the index.html was generated fine, but the response in the browser this time did not show anything (not even the hello world in the title). Am I missing anything very simple here? I was thinking should I overload the handle_request of the underlying SocketServer.BaseServer as the documentation says you should never override BaseHTTPServer's handle() method and should rather override the corresponding do_* method?

• Custom layout in Android: scrollable graphic with selectable elements over top

  Hi, I'm fairly new to the Android platform and was wondering if I could get some advice for my current head scratcher: I'm making an app which in one view will need an image, which can be scrolled on one axis, with a load of selectable points over the top of it. Each point needs to be positionable on the x and y (unlikely to change once the app is running, but I'll need to fine tune the positions whilst I'm developing it). I'd like to be able to let the user select each point and have a graphic drawn on the point the user has selected or just draw a graphic on one/more points without user intervention. I though for the selectable points I could extend the checkbox with a custom image for the selected state - does that sounds right, or is there a better way of doing this? Is there any thing I can read up on doing this, I can't seem to find anything on the net about replacing the default images? I was going to use the absolute layout, but see that it's been depreciated and I can't find anything to replace it. Can anyone give me some code or advice on where to read up on what I need to do?   Hi, I have made a sample application which constructs a filter graph to capture audio from the microphone and stream it to a file. Is there any filter which allows me to stream to a memory buffer instead? I'm following the approach outlined in an article on msdn and are currently using the CLSID_FileWriter object to write the audio to file. This works nicely, but I cannot figure out how to write to a memory buffer. Is there such a memory sink filter or do I have to create it myself? (I would prefer one which is bundled with windows XP)

• (HTML) PNG on top of another PNG - possible to eliminate full transparency?

  I'd like to put a logo png onto of another coloured png. They both have transparent backgrounds. When I try this the images blend together. Curiously, in Photoshop the logo retains its opaque-ness - I put colours on the layers underneath it, another image, etc etc, the logo is still opaque. I'd like to do it this way so I can rotate the background images. How do I fix this? [edit]I've cooked up an example image: http://i.imgur.com/XtoGn.png The left is what I want to happen, the right is what happens on all browsers (I know the background isn't transparent but bear with me - they're both transparent pngs, with the background having a gradient layer mask).   I'm missing some fairly simple syntax I gather. I'm trying to rewrite an element label to something else and keep everything else intact. object htmlRule extends RewriteRule { override def transform(n: Node): Seq[Node] = n match { case Elem(prefix, "document", attribs, scope, child@_*) => Elem(prefix, "html", attribs, scope, child) case other => other } } Now, I ask for an explanation of two things: 1) What exactly does "child@_*" mean in plain English? 2) How can I capture the value of "child@_*" and just let it pass right through to the new element? Currently, I get the following error, which makes sense. [error] found : Seq[scala.xml.Node] [error] required: scala.xml.Node [error] Elem(prefix, "html", attribs, scope, child) I'm not wedded to this either, so if there's a better way to simply change the element name of a specific node, let's here it...
