  • jaas authentication using jetty and gwt

    - by dubreakkk
    Hello, I am trying to use JAAS to authenticate my users. My project is in GWT v2, which runs jetty. I use eclipse for development. From http://code.google.com/p/google-web-toolkit/issues/detail?id=4462 I found out that jetty doesn't like any realm definitions in web.xml, so I moved them to jetty-web.xml. I keep getting ClassNotFound exceptions so I followed the advice here: communitymapbuilder.org/display/JETTY/Problems+with+JAAS+in+Jetty+6.0.0 However, I am still getting ClassNotFoundExceptionsHere in my jetty-web.xml file. How do I configure jetty to work jaas in GWT projects? My jetty-web.xml file: <Configure class="org.mortbay.jetty.webapp.WebAppContext"> <Set name="serverClasses"> <Array type="java.lang.String"> <Item>-org.mortbay.jetty.plus.jaas.</Item> <Item>org.mortbay.jetty</Item> <Item>org.slf4j.</Item> </Array> </Set> <Get name="securityHandler"> <Set name="userRealm"> <New class="org.mortbay.jetty.plus.jaas.JAASUserRealm"> <Set name="name">xyzrealm</Set> <Set name="LoginModuleName">xyz</Set> <Set name="config"><SystemProperty name="jetty.home" default="."/>/WEB-INF/classes/jdbcRealm.properties</Set> </New> </Set> <Set name="authenticator"> <New class="org.mortbay.jetty.security.FormAuthenticator"> <Set name="loginPage">/login.jsp</Set> <Set name="errorPage">/error.jsp</Set> </New> </Set> </Get> Error I am receiving: [WARN] Failed startup of context com.google.gwt.dev.shell.jetty.JettyLauncher$WebAppContextWithReload@1fcef4f7{/,/home/dev/workspace/project/war} java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.mortbay.jetty.plus.jaas.JAASUserRealm at java.lang.ClassLoader.findClass(ClassLoader.java:359) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:307) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:248) at org.mortbay.jetty.webapp.WebAppClassLoader.loadClass(WebAppClassLoader.java:352) at org.mortbay.jetty.webapp.WebAppClassLoader.loadClass(WebAppClassLoader.java:337) at org.mortbay.util.Loader.loadClass(Loader.java:91) at org.mortbay.xml.XmlConfiguration.nodeClass(XmlConfiguration.java:216) at org.mortbay.xml.XmlConfiguration.newObj(XmlConfiguration.java:564) at org.mortbay.xml.XmlConfiguration.itemValue(XmlConfiguration.java:907) at org.mortbay.xml.XmlConfiguration.value(XmlConfiguration.java:829) at org.mortbay.xml.XmlConfiguration.set(XmlConfiguration.java:278) at org.mortbay.xml.XmlConfiguration.configure(XmlConfiguration.java:240) at org.mortbay.xml.XmlConfiguration.get(XmlConfiguration.java:460) at org.mortbay.xml.XmlConfiguration.configure(XmlConfiguration.java:246) at org.mortbay.xml.XmlConfiguration.configure(XmlConfiguration.java:182) at org.mortbay.jetty.webapp.JettyWebXmlConfiguration.configureWebApp(JettyWebXmlConfiguration.java:109) at org.mortbay.jetty.webapp.WebAppContext.startContext(WebAppContext.java:1217) at org.mortbay.jetty.handler.ContextHandler.doStart(ContextHandler.java:513) at org.mortbay.jetty.webapp.WebAppContext.doStart(WebAppContext.java:448) at com.google.gwt.dev.shell.jetty.JettyLauncher$WebAppContextWithReload.doStart(JettyLauncher.java:447) at org.mortbay.component.AbstractLifeCycle.start(AbstractLifeCycle.java:39) at org.mortbay.jetty.handler.HandlerWrapper.doStart(HandlerWrapper.java:130) at org.mortbay.jetty.handler.RequestLogHandler.doStart(RequestLogHandler.java:115) at org.mortbay.component.AbstractLifeCycle.start(AbstractLifeCycle.java:39) at org.mortbay.jetty.handler.HandlerWrapper.doStart(HandlerWrapper.java:130) at org.mortbay.jetty.Server.doStart(Server.java:222) at org.mortbay.component.AbstractLifeCycle.start(AbstractLifeCycle.java:39) at com.google.gwt.dev.shell.jetty.JettyLauncher.start(JettyLauncher.java:543) at com.google.gwt.dev.DevMode.doStartUpServer(DevMode.java:421) at com.google.gwt.dev.DevModeBase.startUp(DevModeBase.java:1035) at com.google.gwt.dev.DevModeBase.run(DevModeBase.java:783) at com.google.gwt.dev.DevMode.main(DevMode.java:275)

  • LUA: A couple of pattern matching issues

    - by Josh
    I'm fairly new to lua programming, but I'm also a quick study. I've been working on a weather forecaster for a program that I use, and it's working well, for the most part. Here is what I have so far. (Pay no attention to the zs.stuff. That is program specific and has no bearing on the lua coding.) if not http then http = require("socket.http") end local locale = string.gsub(zs.params(1),"%s+","%%20") local page = http.request("http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=" .. locale .. "&wuSelect=WEATHER") local location = string.match(page,'title="([%w%s,]+) RSS"') --print("Gathering weather information for " .. location .. ".") --local windspeed = string.match(page,'<span class="nobr"><span class="b">([%d.]+)</span>&nbsp;mph</span>') --print(windspeed) local condition = string.match(page, '<td class="vaM taC"><img src="http://icons-ecast.wxug.com/i/c/a/[%w_]+.gif" width="42" height="42" alt="[%w%s]+" class="condIcon" />') --local image = string.match(page, '<img src="http://icons-ecast.wxug.com/i/c/a/(.+).gif" width="42" height="42" alt="[%w%s]+" class="condIcon" />') local temperature = string.match(page,'pwsvariable="tempf" english="&deg;F" metric="&deg;C" value="([%d.]+)">') local humidity = string.match(page,'pwsvariable="humidity" english="" metric="" value="(%d+)"') zs.say(location) --zs.say("image ./Images/" .. image .. ".gif") zs.say("<color limegreen>Condition:</color> <color white>" .. condition .. "</color>") zs.say("<color limegreen>Temperature: </color><color white>" .. temperature .. "F</color>") zs.say("<color limegreen>Humidity: </color><color white>" .. humidity .. "%</color>") My main issue is this: I changed the 'condition' and added the 'image' variables to what they are now. Even though the line it's supposed to be matching comes directly from the webpage, it fails to match at all. So I'm wondering what it is I'm missing that's preventing this code from working. If I take out the <td class="vaM taC">< img src="http://icons-ecast.wxug.com/i/c/a/[%w_]+.gif" it'll match condition flawlessly. (For whatever reason, I can't get the above line to display correctly, but there is no space between the `< and img) Can anyone point out what is wrong with it? Aside from the pattern matching, I assure you the line is verbatim from the webpage. Another question I had is the ability to match across line breaks. Is there any possible way to do this? The reason why I ask is because on that same page, a few of the things I need to match are broken up on separate lines, and since the actual pattern I'm wanting to match shows up in other places on the page, I need to be able to match across line breaks to get the exact pattern. I appreciate any help in this matter!

  • How do I get a Java to call data from the Internet? Where to even start??

    - by cdg
    Hello oh great wizards of all things android. I really need your help. Mostly because my little brain just doesn't know were to start. I am trying to pull data from the internet to make a widget for the home screen. I have the layout built: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@+id/Layout" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:background="@drawable/widget_bg_normal" android:clipChildren="false" > <TextView android:id="@+id/text_view" android:layout_width="100px" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:paddingTop="18px" android:layout_centerHorizontal="true" android:textSize="8px" android:text="158x154 Image downloaded from the internet goes here. Needs to be updated every evening at midnight or unless the button below is pressed. Now if I could only figure out exactly how to do this, life would be good." /> <Button android:id="@+id/new_button" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Get New" android:layout_below="@+id/scroll_image" android:layout_centerHorizontal="true" android:padding="0px" android:textSize="10px" android:height="8px" android:includeFontPadding="false" /> </RelativeLayout> Got the provider xml bulit: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <appwidget-provider xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:minWidth="150dip" android:minHeight="150dip" android:updatePeriodMillis="10000" android:initialLayout="@layout/widget" /> The Manifest works great. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <manifest xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" package="com.dge.myandroid" android:versionCode="1" android:versionName="1.0"> <application android:icon="@drawable/icon" android:label="@string/app_name"> <activity android:name=".myactivty" android:label="@string/app_name"> <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" /> <category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" /> </intent-filter> </activity> <!-- Widget --> <receiver android:name=".mywidget" android:label="@string/app_name" > <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.appwidget.action.APPWIDGET_UPDATE" /> </intent-filter> <meta-data android:name="android.appwidget.widgetprovider" android:resource="@xml/widgetprovider" /> </receiver> <!-- Widget End --> </application> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.INTERNET" /> <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="7" /> </manifest> The data it is calling looks something like this when it is called. It basically goes to a website that uses php to random the image: <html><body bgcolor="#000000">center> <a href="http://www.website.com" target="_blank"> <img border="0" src="http://www.webiste.com//0.gif"></a> <img src="http://www.webiste.com" style="border:none;" /> </center></body></html> But here is were I am stuck. I just don't know where to start at all. The java is so far beyond my little head that I don't know what to do. package com.dge.myandroid; import android.appwidget.AppWidgetProvider; public class mywidget extends AppWidgetProvider { } The wiki example just confused me more. I just don't know where to begin. Please help.

  • NullPointerException in ItemizedOverlay.getIndexToDraw

    - by lyricsboy
    I have a relatively simple MapActivity that I'm trying to make display a list of "camps" within a given map region. I've created a custom subclass of OverlayItem called CampOverlayItem, a custom ItemizedOverlay called CampsOverlay that returns CampOverlayItems, and of course a MapActivity subclass that populates the map. I'm pulling the overlay data from a database using an AsyncTask as created in my activity. The AsyncTask is triggered from a ViewTreeObserver.OnGlobalLayoutListener attached to the MapView. In the onPostExecute method of the AsyncTask, I create a new instance of my CampsOverlay class and pass it a list of the camps returned from the database (which are fetched in doInBackground). I then call: mapView.getOverlays().add(newOverlay); where newOverlay is the CampsOverlay I just created. All of this code runs without error, but when the Map tries to draw itself, I get a NullPointerException with the following stack trace: java.lang.NullPointerException at com.google.android.maps.ItemizedOverlay.getIndexToDraw(ItemizedOverlay.java: 211) at com.google.android.maps.ItemizedOverlay.draw(ItemizedOverlay.java:240) at com.google.android.maps.Overlay.draw(Overlay.java:179) at com.google.android.maps.OverlayBundle.draw(OverlayBundle.java: 42) at com.google.android.maps.MapView.onDraw(MapView.java:476) at android.view.View.draw(View.java:6274) at android.view.ViewGroup.drawChild(ViewGroup.java:1526) at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchDraw(ViewGroup.java:1256) at android.view.ViewGroup.drawChild(ViewGroup.java:1524) at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchDraw(ViewGroup.java:1256) at android.view.View.draw(View.java:6277) at android.widget.FrameLayout.draw(FrameLayout.java:352) at android.view.ViewGroup.drawChild(ViewGroup.java:1526) at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchDraw(ViewGroup.java:1256) at android.view.ViewGroup.drawChild(ViewGroup.java:1524) at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchDraw(ViewGroup.java:1256) at android.view.ViewGroup.drawChild(ViewGroup.java:1524) at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchDraw(ViewGroup.java:1256) at android.view.ViewGroup.drawChild(ViewGroup.java:1524) at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchDraw(ViewGroup.java:1256) at android.view.ViewGroup.drawChild(ViewGroup.java:1524) at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchDraw(ViewGroup.java:1256) at android.view.View.draw(View.java:6277) at android.widget.FrameLayout.draw(FrameLayout.java:352) at android.view.ViewGroup.drawChild(ViewGroup.java:1526) at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchDraw(ViewGroup.java:1256) at android.view.View.draw(View.java:6277) at android.widget.FrameLayout.draw(FrameLayout.java:352) at com.android.internal.policy.impl.PhoneWindow $DecorView.draw(PhoneWindow.java:1883) at android.view.ViewRoot.draw(ViewRoot.java:1332) at android.view.ViewRoot.performTraversals(ViewRoot.java:1097) at android.view.ViewRoot.handleMessage(ViewRoot.java:1613) at android.os.Handler.dispatchMessage(Handler.java:99) at android.os.Looper.loop(Looper.java:123) at android.app.ActivityThread.main(ActivityThread.java:4203) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invokeNative(Native Method) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:521) at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit $MethodAndArgsCaller.run(ZygoteInit.java:791) at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit.main(ZygoteInit.java:549) at dalvik.system.NativeStart.main(Native Method) Because it seems particularly relevant, here is the code for my ItemizedOverlay subclass: public class CampsOverlay extends ItemizedOverlay<CampOverlayItem> { private ArrayList<Camp> camps = null; public CampsOverlay(Drawable defaultMarker, ArrayList<Camp> theCamps) { super(defaultMarker); this.camps = theCamps; } @Override protected CampOverlayItem createItem(int i) { Camp camp = camps.get(i); CampOverlayItem item = new CampOverlayItem(camp); return item; } @Override protected boolean onTap(int index) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub return super.onTap(index); } @Override public int size() { return camps.size(); } } Does anyone have any idea what could be happening here? I've attempted to verify that everything I have control over is non-null. I can provide more code if necessary.

  • Tomcat/Hibernate Problem "SEVERE: Error listenerStart"

    - by JSteve
    I downloaded working example of hibernate (with maven) and installed it on my tomcat, it worked. Then I created a new web project in MyEclipse, added hibernate support and moved all source files (no jar) to this new project and fixed package/paths wherever was necessary. My servlets are responding correctly but when I add "Listener" in web.xml, tomcat returns error "Error ListenerStart" on startup and my application doesn't start. I've carefully checked all packages, paths and classes, they look good. Error message is also not telling anything more except these two words Here is complete tomcat startup log: 17-Jun-2010 12:13:37 PM org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11Protocol init INFO: Initializing Coyote HTTP/1.1 on http-8810 17-Jun-2010 12:13:37 PM org.apache.catalina.startup.Catalina load INFO: Initialization processed in 293 ms 17-Jun-2010 12:13:37 PM org.apache.catalina.core.StandardService start INFO: Starting service Catalina 17-Jun-2010 12:13:37 PM org.apache.catalina.core.StandardEngine start INFO: Starting Servlet Engine: Apache Tomcat/6.0.20 17-Jun-2010 12:13:37 PM org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContext start SEVERE: Error listenerStart 17-Jun-2010 12:13:37 PM org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContext start SEVERE: Context [/addressbook] startup failed due to previous errors 17-Jun-2010 12:13:37 PM org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11Protocol start INFO: Starting Coyote HTTP/1.1 on http-8810 17-Jun-2010 12:13:37 PM org.apache.jk.common.ChannelSocket init INFO: JK: ajp13 listening on /0.0.0.0:8009 17-Jun-2010 12:13:37 PM org.apache.jk.server.JkMain start INFO: Jk running ID=0 time=0/22 config=null 17-Jun-2010 12:13:37 PM org.apache.catalina.startup.Catalina start INFO: Server startup in 446 ms My web.xml is: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <web-app version="2.4" xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee/web-app_2_4.xsd"> <listener> <listener-class>addressbook.util.SessionFactoryInitializer</listener-class> </listener> <filter> <filter-name>Session Interceptor</filter-name> <filter-class>addressbook.util.SessionInterceptor</filter-class> </filter> <filter-mapping> <filter-name>Session Interceptor</filter-name> <servlet-name>Country Manager</servlet-name> </filter-mapping> <servlet> <servlet-name>Country Manager</servlet-name> <servlet-class>addressbook.managers.CountryManagerServlet</servlet-class> </servlet> <servlet-mapping> <servlet-name>Country Manager</servlet-name> <url-pattern>/countrymanager</url-pattern> </servlet-mapping> </web-app> Can somebody either help me figure out what I am doing wrong? or point to some resource where I may get some precise solution of my problem?

  • Blogger issue with custom background images on Chrome and Safari

    - by hdx
    This is weird, the site in question is blog.andrebatista.info and it is a hosted at blogger.com. I'm trying to make the blogger template look the same as the one in my main website, www.andrebatista.info. For some reason if I go directly to the blog address Chrome and Safari fail to display all of my background images... all of them. However if I first go to www.andrebatista.info first and then go to the blog it renders just fine ?¿ The way I'm customizing it is by adding a link to my main site's stylesheet at the very end of the head tag on the blogger template. That stylesheet is displayed below: *{ margin:0; padding:0; border:0; } html,body { background:#064169 url(http://www.andrebatista.info/images/main_gradient_slice.jpg) repeat-x; font-family: Arial, "MS Trebuchet", sans-serif; font-size:18px; } #main_wrapper{ margin: 0 auto; width:1024px; } #header{ background: url(http://www.andrebatista.info/images/header.jpg); height:133px; border:none; margin:0; } #menu_wrapper{ background: url(http://www.andrebatista.info/images/menu.jpg); height:34px; overflow:hidden; } #menu_wrapper .menu_item{ color:white; float: left; border: 1 px solid red; height: 34px; padding-top:10px; text-align:center; width:100px; } #menu_wrapper .first{ padding-left:240px; float:left; width:100px; } #menu_wrapper .active,#menu_wrapper .menu_item:hover{ background-color:white; color:Teal; cursor: pointer; } #content_area_wrapper{ background: url(http://www.andrebatista.info/images/body_bg_slice.jpg) repeat-y; } #content_area{ min-height:524px; background: url(http://www.andrebatista.info/images/main_content_top.jpg) repeat-x; } #main_banner{ background: url(http://www.andrebatista.info/images/main_banner.jpg) no-repeat center center; width:662px; height:338px; margin: 0 auto; } #main_banner div{ color:white; padding-left:47px; padding-right:164px; padding-top:105px; } #text_area{ overflow:hidden; width:662px; margin:0 auto; padding:14px; } #contentList{ padding:0 20px 20px 20px; } #text_area .left{ width:50%; float:left; } #text_area .left{ width:50%; float:right; } #footer2{ background: url(http://www.andrebatista.info/images/footer.jpg); height:62px; } #footer{ background: url(http://www.andrebatista.info/images/footer.jpg); height:62px; } Any ideas on what I could be missing?

  • mediaelement.js control sizes are wrong when clip nested in a hidden element

    - by Martin Francis
    It's a nasty one this. In an audio control placed within a container element whose display property is initially set to none, the audio clip does NOT correctly size the progress bar when it is initialised. This is clear when the container's display property is changed from 'none' to '' (which is equivalent to 'static'). But who would ever do that? I make extensive use of 'tabbed' display arrangements on community sites like this one: http://www.churchesInBracebridge.ca Owing to the page arrangement, the audio controls which you see under 'sermons' (which at the time of writing still using Flash rather than John's excellent library here) are initially rendered in a div that is hidden. Simplified Test case Rather than have anyone have to wade through all of that, here's a much simplified test case: http://jsfiddle.net/sJL6T/36 Here's the full page source for those who'd prefer to work with it that way. <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8"/> <title>MediaElementPlayer.js</title> <script type="text/javascript" src="//ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.9.1/jquery.min.js"></script> <script src="http://mediaelementjs.com/js/mejs-2.13.1/mediaelement-and-player.js"></script> <link rel="stylesheet" href="http://mediaelementjs.com/js/mejs-2.13.1/mediaelementplayer.css" /> <script type="text/javascript"> function toggle(id){ document.getElementById(id).style.display= (document.getElementById(id).style.display=='none' ? '' : 'none'); } </script> </head> <body> <h1>MediaElementPlayer.js</h1> <h2 onclick="return toggle('test1')">Initially Hidden (Click to toggle)</h2> <div id='test1' style='display:none'> <audio controls="controls"> <source src="http://mediaelementjs.com/media/AirReview-Landmarks-02-ChasingCorporate.mp3" type="audio/mp3" /> </audio> </div> <h2 onclick="return toggle('test2')">Initially Shown (Click to toggle)</h2> <div id='test2' style=''> <audio controls="controls"> <source src="http://mediaelementjs.com/media/AirReview-Landmarks-02-ChasingCorporate.mp3" type="audio/mp3" /> </audio> </div> <script> $('audio').mediaelementplayer(); </script> </body> </html> Possible Workarounds Now I know that Google maps has the same quirk and there are two possible ways I've used to deal with that: Use absolute positioning in a displayed div to place the element 10,000px to the left then bring it onto the stage when we want to see it Have the map pane displayed when loading then hide it as soon as it's loaded (ugly I know, but it usually works) However either approach would be a pain to do, as I have a lot of legacy code using the simpler div hiding method. I know that JQuery can get the dimensions of an element event if it is hidden - someone thoughtfully fiddled that and it does work: http://jsfiddle.net/sJL6T/9 Perhaps it may be possible to modify the actual library to find correct dimensions, even if the container itself is hidden? That would be wonderful, if it can be done! Initial experiments on mediaelement-and-player.js code I found that when I provided a fixed value in the setControlsSize function for railWidth, I got consistent results with both controls in the test case above (and obviously I'm working with my own copy of the library to do that, not the one stored at mediaelementjs.com): // outer area rail.width(railWidth); Change to this: // outer area railWidth=216; rail.width(railWidth); Many thanks in anticipation! • Dynamic 'twitter style' urls with ASP.NET

    - by Desiny
    I am looking to produce an MVC site which has complete control of the url structure using routing. The specific requirements are: www.mysite.com/ = homepage (home controller) www.mysite.com/common/about = content page (common controller) www.mysite.com/common/contact = content page (common controller) www.mysite.com/john = twitter style user page (dynamic controller) www.mysite.com/sarah = twitter style user page (dynamic controller) www.mysite.com/me = premium style user page (premium controller) www.mysite.com/oldpage.html = 301 redirect to new page www.mysite.com/oldpage.asp?id=3333 = 301 redirect to new page My routes look as follows: routes.IgnoreRoute("{resource}.axd/{*pathInfo}"); routes.MapRoute( "Common", "common/{action}/{id}", new { controller = "common", action = "Index", id = "" } ); routes.MapRoute( "Home", "", new { controller = "Home", action = "Index", id = "" } ); routes.MapRoute( "Dynamic", "{id}", new { controller = "dynamic", action = "Index", id = "" } ); In order to handle the 301 rredirct, I have a database defining the old pages and their new page urls and a stored procdure to handle the lookup. The code (handler) looks like this: public class AspxCatchHandler : IHttpHandler, IRequiresSessionState { #region IHttpHandler Members public bool IsReusable { get { return true; } } public void ProcessRequest(HttpContext context) { if (context.Request.Url.AbsolutePath.Contains("aspx") && !context.Request.Url.AbsolutePath.ToLower().Contains("default.aspx")) { string strurl = context.Request.Url.PathAndQuery.ToString(); string chrAction = ""; string chrDest = ""; try { DataTable dtRedirect = SqlFactory.Execute( ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["emptum"].ConnectionString, "spGetRedirectAction", new SqlParameter[] { new SqlParameter("@chrURL", strurl) }, true); chrAction = dtRedirect.Rows[0]["chrAction"].ToString(); chrDest = dtRedirect.Rows[0]["chrDest"].ToString(); chrDest = context.Request.Url.Host.ToString() + "/" + chrDest; chrDest = "http://" + chrDest; if (string.IsNullOrEmpty(strurl)) context.Response.Redirect("~/"); } catch { chrDest = "/";// context.Request.Url.Host.ToString(); } context.Response.Clear(); context.Response.Status = "301 Moved Permanently"; context.Response.AddHeader("Location", chrDest); context.Response.End(); } else { string originalPath = context.Request.Path; HttpContext.Current.RewritePath("/", false); IHttpHandler httpHandler = new MvcHttpHandler(); httpHandler.ProcessRequest(HttpContext.Current); HttpContext.Current.RewritePath(originalPath, false); } } #endregion } It is very simple to look up a user and in fact the above code does this. My problem is in the dynamic / premium part. I am trying to do the following: 1) in the dynamic controller, lookup the username. 2) if the username is in the user list (database), show the Index ActionResult of the Dynamic controller. 3) if the username is not found, look up the username in the premium list 4) if the username is fund in the premium list (database) then show the Index ActionResult of the Preium controller. 5) If all else fails jump to the 404 page (which will ask the user to sign up) Is this possible? Looking up the user twice is a bad idea for performance? How do I do this without redirecting?

  • using one data template in another data template in WPF

    - by Sowmya
    Hi, I have two data templates, one of which is the subset of another like below: <ResourceDictionary xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:igEditors="http://infragistics.com/Editors" xmlns:sys="clr-namespace:System;assembly=mscorlib" xmlns:controls="clr-namespace:Client.UI.WPF;assembly=Client.UI.WPF" xmlns:d="http://schemas.microsoft.com/expression/blend/2006" > <ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> <ResourceDictionary Source="pack://application:,,,/Client.Resources.WPF.Styles;Component/Styles/CommonStyles.xaml"/> </ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> <DataTemplate x:Key="XYZDataTemplate"> <Grid x:Name="_rootGrid" DataContext="{Binding DataContext}" HorizontalAlignment="Left" VerticalAlignment="Top"> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition/> <RowDefinition/> <RowDefinition/> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="Auto"/> <ColumnDefinition Width="Auto"/> <ColumnDefinition Width="Auto"/> <ColumnDefinition Width="Auto"/> <ColumnDefinition Width="Auto"/> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <controls:ValueDisplay Grid.Row="0" Grid.Column="0" LabelText="Build number" x:Name="buildNumber" HorizontalAlignment="Left" VerticalAlignment="Top" Width="120" Margin="5,10,0,0"> <igEditors:XamTextEditor /> </controls:ValueDisplay> <controls:ValueDisplay Grid.Row="0" Grid.Column="1" LabelText="Tool version" x:Name="toolVersion" HorizontalAlignment="Left" VerticalAlignment="Top" Width="120" Margin="20,10,0,0"> <igEditors:XamTextEditor IsReadOnly="True"/> </controls:ValueDisplay> </Grid> </DataTemplate> and the other is like below: <ResourceDictionary xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:igEditors="http://infragistics.com/Editors" xmlns:sys="clr-namespace:System;assembly=mscorlib" xmlns:controls="clr-namespace:BHI.ULSS.Client.UI.WPF;assembly=ULSS.Client.UI.WPF" xmlns:d="http://schemas.microsoft.com/expression/blend/2006" > <DataTemplate x:Key="ABCDataTemplate" > <Grid x:Name="_rootGrid" DataContext="{Binding DataContext}" HorizontalAlignment="Left" VerticalAlignment="Top"> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition/> <RowDefinition/> <RowDefinition/> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="Auto"/> <ColumnDefinition Width="Auto"/> <ColumnDefinition Width="Auto"/> <ColumnDefinition Width="Auto"/> <ColumnDefinition Width="Auto"/> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <controls:ValueDisplay Grid.Row="0" Grid.Column="0" LabelText="Build number" x:Name="buildNumber" HorizontalAlignment="Left" VerticalAlignment="Top" Width="120" Margin="5,10,0,0"> <igEditors:XamTextEditor /> </controls:ValueDisplay> <controls:ValueDisplay Grid.Row="0" Grid.Column="1" LabelText="Tool version" x:Name="toolVersion" HorizontalAlignment="Left" VerticalAlignment="Top" Width="120" Margin="20,10,0,0"> <igEditors:XamTextEditor IsReadOnly="True"/> </controls:ValueDisplay> <controls:ValueDisplay Grid.Row="0" Grid.Column="2" LabelText="Size" ShowUnit="True" x:Name="size" HorizontalAlignment="Left" VerticalAlignment="Top" Width="120" Margin="20,10,0,0"> <igEditors:XamTextEditor/> </controls:ValueDisplay> </Grid> </DataTemplate> XYZDataTemplate is a subset of the ABCDataTemplate as the first two fields in both the data templates are common, so I was wondering if it is possible to replace the redundant code in the ABCDataTemplate with that of the XYZDataTemplate for code maintainability? Could anyone please suggest if would this be a right approach, if so how can I acheive that? Thanks in advance, Sowmya

  • Can I get the original page source (vs current DOM) with phantomjs/casperjs?

    - by supercoco
    I am trying to get the original source for a particular web page. The page executes some scripts that modify the DOM as soon as it loads. I would like to get the source before any script or user changes any object in the document. With Chrome or Firefox (and probably most browsers) I can either look at the DOM (debug utility F12) or look at the original source (right-click, view source). The latter is what I want to accomplish. Is it possible to do this with phantomjs/casperjs? Before getting to the page I have to log in. This is working fine with casperjs. If I browse to the page and render the results I know I am on the right page. casper.thenOpen('http://'+customUrl, function(response) { this.page.render('example.png'); // *** Renders correct page (current DOM) *** console.log(this.page.content); // *** Gets current DOM *** casper.download('view-source:'+customUrl, 'b.html', 'GET'); // *** Blank page *** console.log(this.getHTML()); // *** Gets current DOM *** this.debugPage(); // *** Gets current DOM *** utils.dump(response); // *** No BODY *** casper.download('http://'+customUrl, 'a.html', 'GET'); // *** Not logged in ?! *** }); I've tried this.download(url, 'a.html') but it doesn't seem to share the same context since it returns HTML as if I was not logged in, even if I run with cookies casperjs test.casper.js --cookies-file=cookies.txt. I believe I should keep analyzing this option. I have also tried casper.open('view-source:url') instead of casper.open('http://url') but it seems it doesn't recognize the url since I just get a blank page. I have looked at the raw HTTP Response I get from the server with a utility I have and the body of this message (which is HTML) is what I need but when the page loads in the browser the DOM has already been modified. I tried: casper.thenOpen('http://'+url, function(response) { ... } But the response object only contains the headers and some other information but not the body. ¿Any ideas? Here is the full code: phantom.casperTest = true; phantom.cookiesEnabled = true; var utils = require('utils'); var casper = require('casper').create({ clientScripts: [], pageSettings: { loadImages: false, loadPlugins: false, javascriptEnabled: true, webSecurityEnabled: false }, logLevel: "error", verbose: true }); casper.userAgent('Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X)'); casper.start('http://www.xxxxxxx.xxx/login'); casper.waitForSelector('input#login', function() { this.evaluate(function(customLogin, customPassword) { document.getElementById("login").value = customLogin; document.getElementById("password").value = customPassword; document.getElementById("button").click(); }, { "customLogin": customLogin, "customPassword": customPassword }); }, function() { console.log('Can't login.'); }, 15000 ); casper.waitForSelector('div#home', function() { console.log('Login successfull.'); }, function() { console.log('Login failed.'); }, 15000 ); casper.thenOpen('http://'+customUrl, function(response) { this.page.render('example.png'); // *** Renders correct page (current DOM) *** console.log(this.page.content); // *** Gets current DOM *** casper.download('view-source:'+customUrl, 'b.html', 'GET'); // *** Blank page *** console.log(this.getHTML()); // *** Gets current DOM *** this.debugPage(); // *** Gets current DOM *** utils.dump(response); // *** No BODY *** casper.download('http://'+customUrl, 'a.html', 'GET'); // *** Not logged in ?! *** });

  • Load balancing using Mina example with Java DSL

    - by Flame_Phoenix
    So, recently I started learning Camel. As part of the process I decided to go through all the examples (listed HERE and available when you DOWNLOAD the package with all the examples and docs) and to see what I could learn. One of the examples, Load Balancing using Mina caught my attention because it uses a Mina in different JVM's and it simulates a load balancer with round robin. I have a few problems with this example. First it uses the Spring DSL, instead of the Java DSL which my project uses and which I find a lot easier to understand now (mainly also because I am used to it). So the first question: is there a version of this example using only the Java DSL instead of the Spring DSL for the routes and the beans? My second questions is code related. The description states, and I quote: Within this demo every ten seconds, a Report object is created from the Camel load balancer server. This object is sent by the Camel load balancer to a MINA server where the object is then serialized. One of the two MINA servers (localhost:9991 and localhost:9992) receives the object and enriches the message by setting the field reply of the Report object. The reply is sent back by the MINA server to the client, which then logs the reply on the console. So, from what I read, I understand that the MINA server 1 (per example) receives a report from the loadbalancer, changes it, and then it sends that report back to some invisible client. Upon checking the code, I see no client java class or XML and when I run, the server simply posts the results on the command line. Where is the client ?? What is this client? In the MINA 1server code presented here: <beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:camel="http://camel.apache.org/schema/spring" xsi:schemaLocation=" http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans/spring-beans.xsd http://camel.apache.org/schema/spring http://camel.apache.org/schema/spring/camel-spring.xsd"> <bean id="service" class="org.apache.camel.example.service.Reporting"/> <camelContext xmlns="http://camel.apache.org/schema/spring"> <route id="mina1"> <from uri="mina:tcp://localhost:9991"/> <setHeader headerName="minaServer"> <constant>localhost:9991</constant> </setHeader> <bean ref="service" method="updateReport"/> </route> </camelContext> </beans> I don't understand how the updateReport method magically prints the object on my console. What if I wanted to send message to a third MINA server? How would I do it? (I would have to add a new route, and send it to the URI of the 3rd server correct?) I know most of these questions may sound dumb, but I would appreciate if anyone could help me. A Java DSL version of this would really help me.

  • Safely defining variables for public callback functions in javascript

    - by djreed
    I am working with the YouTube iFrame API to embed a number of videos on a page. Documentation here: https://developers.google.com/youtube/iframe_api_reference#Requirements In summary, you load the API asynchronously using the following snippet: var tag = document.createElement('script'); tag.src = "http://www.youtube.com/player_api"; var firstScriptTag = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; firstScriptTag.parentNode.insertBefore(tag, firstScriptTag); Once loaded, the API fires the predefined callback function onYouTubePlayerAPIReady. For additional context: I am defining a library file for this in Google Closure. I am providing a namespace: goog.provide('yt.video'); I then use goog.exportSymbol so that the API can find the function. That all works fine. My challenge is that I would like to pass 2 variables to the callback function. Is there any way to do this without defining these 2 variables in the context of the window object? goog.provide('yt.video'); goog.require('goog.dom'); yt.video = function(videos, locales) { this.videos = videos; this.captionLocales = locales; this.init(); }; yt.video.prototype.init = function() { var tag = document.createElement('script'); tag.src = "http://www.youtube.com/player_api"; var firstScriptTag = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; firstScriptTag.parentNode.insertBefore(tag, firstScriptTag); }; /* * Callback function fired when YT API is ready * This is exported using goog.exportSymbol in another file and * is being fired by the API properly. */ yt.video.prototype.onPlayerReady = function(videos, locales) { window.console.log('this :' + this); //logs window window.console.log('this.videos : ' + this.videos); //logs undefined /* * Video settings from Django variable */ for(i=0; i<this.videos.length; i++) { var playerEvents = {}; var embedVars = {}; var el = this.videos[i].el; var playerVid = this.videos[i].vid; var playerWidth = this.videos[i].width; var playerHeight = this.videos[i].height; var captionLocales = this.videos[i].locales; if(this.videos[i].playerVars) var embedVars = this.videos[i].playerVars; } if(this.videos[i].events) { var playerEvents = this.videos[i].events; } /* * Show captions by default */ if(goog.array.indexOf(captionLocales, 'es') >= 0) { embedVars.cc_load_policy = 1; }; new YT.Player(el, { height: playerHeight, width: playerWidth, videoId: playerVid, events: playerEvents, playerVars: embedVars }); }; }; To intialize this, I am currently using the following within a self-executing anonymous function: var videos = [ {"vid": "video_id", "el": "player-1", "width": 640, "height": 390, "locales": ["es", "fr"], "events": {"onStateChange": stateChanged}}, {"vid": "video_id", "el": "player-2", "locales": ["es", "fr"], "width": 640, "height": 390} ]; var locales = ['es']; var videoTemplate = new yt.video(videos, locales);

  • Why are perfectly legitamate pages on my website registering in google Webmasters as 404?

    - by christian
    I have seen this question asked several times here, but never clearly answered. I suspect it has something to do with my .htaccess file: # BEGIN WordPress <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule . /index.php [L] </IfModule> # END WordPress <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^moreinfo/(.*)$ http://www.kgstiles.com/moreinfo$1 [R=301] RewriteRule ^healthsolutions/(.*)$ http://www.kgstiles.com/healthsolutions$1 [R=301] RewriteRule ^(.*)\.html$ $1/ [R=301] RewriteRule ^(.*)\.htm$ $1/ [R=301] </IfModule> when I check the url without a forward slash at the end, it registers as 404 (even though it renders fine in a browser), but when I write it without the forward slash at the end, it renders 200 OK, but if I try to take off the forward slash with the htaccess file, the browser gives me a 310 error (too many redirects) you can see the 404 and 310 with this url: http://www.kgstiles.com/pureplantessentials.html which redirects to http://www.kgstiles.com/pureplantessentials/ (which is a 404), so what is a solution and why might this be registering as a 404? Any Help is appreciated! (I'm using wordpress btw)

The host system is configured as follows: # $ cat /etc/issue Debian GNU/Linux 6.0 # $ uname -a Linux openvz-02 2.6.32-16-pve #1 SMP Fri Nov 9 11:42:51 CET 2012 x86_64 GNU/Linux # $ apt-cache showpkg proxmox-ve-2.6.32 Package: proxmox-ve-2.6.32 # $ tail -n 3 /etc/apt/sources.list # PVE packages provided by proxmox.com deb http://download.proxmox.com/debian squeeze pve For a software project I need a minimal xserver and followed the instructions at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ServerGUI. I simply installed the package xorg (xorg 1:7.6+7ubuntu7.1). Now when I 'startx' I get an error message Fatal server error: xf86OpenConsole: Cannot find a free VT: Invalid argument The complete output of startx # startx X.Org X Server 1.11.3 Release Date: 2011-12-16 X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0 Build Operating System: Linux 2.6.42-23-generic x86_64 Ubuntu Current Operating System: Linux www 2.6.32-16-pve #1 SMP Fri Nov 9 11:42:51 CET 2012 x86_64 Kernel command line: quiet Build Date: 29 August 2012 12:12:33AM xorg-server 2:1.11.4-0ubuntu10.8 (For technical support please see http://www.ubuntu.com/support) Current version of pixman: 0.24.4 Before reporting problems, check http://wiki.x.org to make sure that you have the latest version. • Dynamic JSON Parsing in .NET with JsonValue

    - by Rick Strahl
    So System.Json has been around for a while in Silverlight, but it's relatively new for the desktop .NET framework and now moving into the lime-light with the pending release of ASP.NET Web API which is bringing a ton of attention to server side JSON usage. The JsonValue, JsonObject and JsonArray objects are going to be pretty useful for Web API applications as they allow you dynamically create and parse JSON values without explicit .NET types to serialize from or into. But even more so I think JsonValue et al. are going to be very useful when consuming JSON APIs from various services. Yes I know C# is strongly typed, why in the world would you want to use dynamic values? So many times I've needed to retrieve a small morsel of information from a large service JSON response and rather than having to map the entire type structure of what that service returns, JsonValue actually allows me to cherry pick and only work with the values I'm interested in, without having to explicitly create everything up front. With JavaScriptSerializer or DataContractJsonSerializer you always need to have a strong type to de-serialize JSON data into. Wouldn't it be nice if no explicit type was required and you could just parse the JSON directly using a very easy to use object syntax? That's exactly what JsonValue, JsonObject and JsonArray accomplish using a JSON parser and some sweet use of dynamic sauce to make it easy to access in code. Creating JSON on the fly with JsonValue Let's start with creating JSON on the fly. It's super easy to create a dynamic object structure. JsonValue uses the dynamic  keyword extensively to make it intuitive to create object structures and turn them into JSON via dynamic object syntax. Here's an example of creating a music album structure with child songs using JsonValue:[TestMethod] public void JsonValueOutputTest() { // strong type instance var jsonObject = new JsonObject(); // dynamic expando instance you can add properties to dynamic album = jsonObject; album.AlbumName = "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap"; album.Artist = "AC/DC"; album.YearReleased = 1977; album.Songs = new JsonArray() as dynamic; dynamic song = new JsonObject(); song.SongName = "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap"; song.SongLength = "4:11"; album.Songs.Add(song); song = new JsonObject(); song.SongName = "Love at First Feel"; song.SongLength = "3:10"; album.Songs.Add(song); Console.WriteLine(album.ToString()); } This produces proper JSON just as you would expect: {"AlbumName":"Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap","Artist":"AC\/DC","YearReleased":1977,"Songs":[{"SongName":"Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap","SongLength":"4:11"},{"SongName":"Love at First Feel","SongLength":"3:10"}]} The important thing about this code is that there's no explicitly type that is used for holding the values to serialize to JSON. I am essentially creating this value structure on the fly by adding properties and then serialize it to JSON. This means this code can be entirely driven at runtime without compile time restraints of structure for the JSON output. Here I use JsonObject() to create a new object and immediately cast it to dynamic. JsonObject() is kind of similar in behavior to ExpandoObject in that it allows you to add properties by simply assigning to them. Internally, JsonValue/JsonObject these values are stored in pseudo collections of key value pairs that are exposed as properties through the DynamicObject functionality in .NET. The syntax gets a little tedious only if you need to create child objects or arrays that have to be explicitly defined first. Other than that the syntax looks like normal object access sytnax. Always remember though these values are dynamic - which means no Intellisense and no compiler type checking. It's up to you to ensure that the values you create are accessed consistently and without typos in your code. Note that you can also access the JsonValue instance directly and get access to the underlying type. This means you can assign properties by string, which can be useful for fully data driven JSON generation from other structures. Below you can see both styles of access next to each other:// strong type instance var jsonObject = new JsonObject(); // you can explicitly add values here jsonObject.Add("Entered", DateTime.Now); // expando style instance you can just 'use' properties dynamic album = jsonObject; album.AlbumName = "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap"; JsonValue internally stores properties keys and values in collections and you can iterate over them at runtime. You can also manipulate the collections if you need to to get the object structure to look exactly like you want. Again, if you've used ExpandoObject before JsonObject/Value are very similar in the behavior of the structure. Reading JSON strings into JsonValue The JsonValue structure supports importing JSON via the Parse() and Load() methods which can read JSON data from a string or various streams respectively. Essentially JsonValue includes the core JSON parsing to turn a JSON string into a collection of JsonValue objects that can be then referenced using familiar dynamic object syntax. Here's a simple example:[TestMethod] public void JsonValueParsingTest() { var jsonString = @"{""Name"":""Rick"",""Company"":""West Wind"",""Entered"":""2012-03-16T00:03:33.245-10:00""}"; dynamic json = JsonValue.Parse(jsonString); // values require casting string name = json.Name; string company = json.Company; DateTime entered = json.Entered; Assert.AreEqual(name, "Rick"); Assert.AreEqual(company, "West Wind"); } The JSON string represents an object with three properties which is parsed into a JsonValue object and cast to dynamic. Once cast to dynamic I can then go ahead and access the object using familiar object syntax. Note that the actual values - json.Name, json.Company, json.Entered - are actually of type JsonPrimitive and I have to assign them to their appropriate types first before I can do type comparisons. The dynamic properties will automatically cast to the right type expected as long as the compiler can resolve the type of the assignment or usage. The AreEqual() method oesn't as it expects two object instances and comparing json.Company to "West Wind" is comparing two different types (JsonPrimitive to String) which fails. So the intermediary assignment is required to make the test pass. The JSON structure can be much more complex than this simple example. Here's another example of an array of albums serialized to JSON and then parsed through with JsonValue():[TestMethod] public void JsonArrayParsingTest() { var jsonString = @"[ { ""Id"": ""b3ec4e5c"", ""AlbumName"": ""Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap"", ""Artist"": ""AC/DC"", ""YearReleased"": 1977, ""Entered"": ""2012-03-16T00:13:12.2810521-10:00"", ""AlbumImageUrl"": ""http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/61kTaH-uZBL._AA115_.jpg"", ""AmazonUrl"": ""http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00008BXJ4/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=westwindtechn-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00008BXJ4"", ""Songs"": [ { ""AlbumId"": ""b3ec4e5c"", ""SongName"": ""Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap"", ""SongLength"": ""4:11"" }, { ""AlbumId"": ""b3ec4e5c"", ""SongName"": ""Love at First Feel"", ""SongLength"": ""3:10"" }, { ""AlbumId"": ""b3ec4e5c"", ""SongName"": ""Big Balls"", ""SongLength"": ""2:38"" } ] }, { ""Id"": ""67280fb8"", ""AlbumName"": ""Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace"", ""Artist"": ""Foo Fighters"", ""YearReleased"": 2007, ""Entered"": ""2012-03-16T00:13:12.2810521-10:00"", ""AlbumImageUrl"": ""http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41mtlesQPVL._SL500_AA280_.jpg"", ""AmazonUrl"": ""http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000UFAURI/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=westwindtechn-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B000UFAURI"", ""Songs"": [ { ""AlbumId"": ""67280fb8"", ""SongName"": ""The Pretender"", ""SongLength"": ""4:29"" }, { ""AlbumId"": ""67280fb8"", ""SongName"": ""Let it Die"", ""SongLength"": ""4:05"" }, { ""AlbumId"": ""67280fb8"", ""SongName"": ""Erase/Replay"", ""SongLength"": ""4:13"" } ] }, { ""Id"": ""7b919432"", ""AlbumName"": ""End of the Silence"", ""Artist"": ""Henry Rollins Band"", ""YearReleased"": 1992, ""Entered"": ""2012-03-16T00:13:12.2800521-10:00"", ""AlbumImageUrl"": ""http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51FO3rb1tuL._SL160_AA160_.jpg"", ""AmazonUrl"": ""http://www.amazon.com/End-Silence-Rollins-Band/dp/B0000040OX/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1302232195&sr=8-5"", ""Songs"": [ { ""AlbumId"": ""7b919432"", ""SongName"": ""Low Self Opinion"", ""SongLength"": ""5:24"" }, { ""AlbumId"": ""7b919432"", ""SongName"": ""Grip"", ""SongLength"": ""4:51"" } ] } ]"; dynamic albums = JsonValue.Parse(jsonString); foreach (dynamic album in albums) { Console.WriteLine(album.AlbumName + " (" + album.YearReleased.ToString() + ")"); foreach (dynamic song in album.Songs) { Console.WriteLine("\t" + song.SongName ); } } Console.WriteLine(albums[0].AlbumName); Console.WriteLine(albums[0].Songs[1].SongName);}   It's pretty sweet how easy it becomes to parse even complex JSON and then just run through the object using object syntax, yet without an explicit type in the mix. In fact it looks and feels a lot like if you were using JavaScript to parse through this data, doesn't it? • ASP.Net Web API in Visual Studio 2010

    - by sreejukg
    Recently for one of my project, it was necessary to create couple of services. In the past I was using WCF, since my Services are going to be utilized through HTTP, I was thinking of ASP.Net web API. So I decided to create a Web API project. Now the real issue is that ASP.Net Web API launched after Visual Studio 2010 and I had to use ASP.Net web API in VS 2010 itself. By default there is no template available for Web API in Visual Studio 2010. Microsoft has made available an update that installs ASP.Net MVC 4 with web API in Visual Studio 2010. You can find the update from the below url. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30683 Though the update denotes ASP.Net MVC 4, this also includes ASP.Net Web API. Download the installation media and start the installer. As usual for any update, you need to agree on terms and conditions. The installation starts straight away, once you clicked the Install button. If everything goes ok, you will see the success message. Now open Visual Studio 2010, you can see ASP.Net MVC 4 Project template is available for you. Now you can create ASP.Net Web API project using Visual Studio 2010. When you create a new ASP.Net MVC 4 project, you can choose the Web API template.
