  • Servers in DMZ will not communicate with each other

    (Full disclosure: I rate barely above "noob" when it comes to networking.) My workplace recent got a new web server. Since we're nearing the end of an overhaul of our website, we're doing a slooooow migration between the old web server and the new one. The old webserver (we'll call it SERVOLD) is Windows Server 2008 with IIS 7. It does not have SQL Server installed. The new server (SERVNEW) is Windows Server 2008 R2, IIS 7.5, with the same version of SQL Server installed. Both are located in the DMZ for our network, and both have their own outward-facing IP address (.3 and .4, respectively). Each server can communicate fine with computers within the domain (not in the DMZ), and those same computers have no trouble communicating with either server. Both servers are also accessible from the internet just fine. However, no matter what, these two servers just refuse to recognize each other. They have the same Workgroup name listed (WORKGROUP), and I thought that would be enough for them to recognize each other. What needs to happen such that I can get these two servers to communicate with each other? We want to do a gradual roll-over to the new website (new one uses ASP.NET, old one uses CFMX), so being able to use one database between both servers is a necessity. Thanks!

    I am trying to add files to an existing zip file. Whenever i do, the new one contains the new list of files im passing in, but all of the previous ones are wiped out.     I am trying to do POST with HttpURLConnection(I need to use it this way, can't use HttpPost) and I'd like to add parameters to that connection such as post.setEntity(new UrlEncodedFormEntity(nvp)); where nvp = new ArrayList<NameValuePair>(); having some data stored in. I can't find a way how to add this ArrayList to my HttpURLConnection which is here: HttpsURLConnection https = (HttpsURLConnection) url.openConnection(); https.setHostnameVerifier(DO_NOT_VERIFY); http = https; http.setRequestMethod("POST"); http.setDoInput(true); http.setDoOutput(true); the reason for that awkward https and http combination is the need for not verifying the certificate.     Hello guys, I've searched but was unable to find an existing regex function. Has anybody done this before? I wish to add a port number, or remove a potantially existing one from a url in php. To use in some functions which translate a given url to the secure one, unsecure one, etc. Now I need a second SSL secured site on the server so I need to dynamically add a port number while converting http to https, and remove any port number while converting from https to http. But, as soon as I add in one more from clause that instead of referencing objects, references SQL table, I get an error. So, altering above to something like so where db is defined as a new DataContext (i.e., class deriving from System.Data.Linq.DataContext): var a = new [] { 1, 4, 7 }; var b = new [] { 2, 5, 8 }; var test = from symbol in db.Symbols from i in a from j in b select new { A = i, B = j, AB = string.Format("{0}{1:00}a{2:00}b", symbol.ID, i, j), }; foreach (var t in test) Console.Write("{0}, ", t.AB); The error I get is following: Local sequence cannot be used in LINQ to SQL implementations of query operators except the Contains operator Its related to not using Contains apparently but I'm unsure how Contains would be used when I don't really want to constrict the results - I want the Cartesian product for my situation. Any ideas of how to use Contains above and still yield the Cartesian product when joining database and local sequences?

    I want to add a non-native shared library to Android so every application on the device would be able to use it. I mean using packaged classes just like a core library as if they were present in the application itself. I studied Android source code to figure out a way to add a new path to the application ClassLoader and found out that it is created during startup and there's no way to change the paths later. I can use my own ClassLoader, but all I will get after loading a class will be a reference to a Class object. This way I will be bound to work through reflection mechanism, which is slower than the native execution system. Is there any way to organise a shared library on Android?

    Hi, In mysql i m selecting from a table shouts having a foreign key to another table named "roleuser" with the matching column as user_id Now the user_id column in the shouts table for some rows is null (not actually null but with no inserts in mysql) How to show all the rows of the shouts table either with user_id null or not I m executing the sql statement SELECT s.*, r.firstname, r.lastname FROM shouts s left join roleuser r where r.user_id = s.user_id limit 50; which does not executes and shows You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'where r.user_id = s.user_id limit 50' at line 2 but using inner join the sql executes which shows rows which only have user_id values in the shouts table. the nulls are not shown. SELECT s.*, r.firstname, r.lastname FROM shouts s inner join roleuser r where r.user_id = s.user_id limit 50; How can i show all the rows from the shouts table and null values in the firstname and lastname columns where the user_id is null in the shouts table.     Hi all. I'm trying to add my recently uploaded flickr feed onto a site. I've followed tutorials with Simple Pie, but can't get what I desire. I need to be able dictate where each image will sit in multiple DIV's rather than just one repeated DIV. Here is a website which seems to do what I want.. wearecondiment.com It basically updates the Static URL inside each seperate DIV.. I cant find the PHP anywhere in there code. Here is the site I plan to add this feature to.. "http://www.openyourheart.org.uk" I'll make a new page and template of square DIVs where each photo will sit. The aim of it will basically be so that people can upload their own images to display in the campaign and automatically appear on the site. It would also be great if somehow the image could crop to the size of each square/rectangle. Any ideas? Cheers, Bradley

  • Visual Studio add-in to quickly test a code snippet

    One thing I really love about languages such as Python is that if you have a piece of code you'd like to try out, you can just open the interactive shell and do it in seconds. Is there a Visual Studio add-in that does the same for C#? Basically what I'm looking for is something that opens up a window or tab with a text editor (preferably with code completion, because VS does it so nicely) and a button that runs the code and displays the output. Extra points for convenience features such as displaying complex output in a user-friendly way (think Firebug's console.log), automatically referencing all the assemblies the current project references, etc. I tried googling for a while, but either I fail at coming up with good keywords, or no-one has made an add-in like this. If there really is none, I'm considering making one myself.

    I'm using Sql Compact3.5 as my DB with C# .NET . I have a strange problem with my application. I'm running the code in two PC with same configuration except the Sql Compact installed. In one PC where Sql Compact3.5 is not installed I'm getting this strange error: Exception :Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt. Inner Exception : Stack Trace : at System.Data.SqlServerCe.NativeMethods.CloseStore(IntPtr pSeStore) at System.Data.SqlServerCe.SqlCeConnection.ReleaseNativeInterfaces() at System.Data.SqlServerCe.SqlCeConnection.Dispose(Boolean disposing) at System.Data.SqlServerCe.SqlCeConnection.Finalize() Source : System.Data.SqlServerCe I don't know where i have went wrong. I checked my code and included try catch everywhere. I'm handling Unhandled exception also using this . I am getting this error from a console application which I'm starting from Windows Form. In both the application I've inserted the Unhandled Exception coding and it's getting executed and getting return to the texxt file. But still Microsoft Don't Error Report is getting generated and I get that Dialog box!!! Y still that dialog box is getting generated is the trouble!!! Is there any way to supress that Dialog box??? Y I'm getting this box when I'm handling the exception and it's executing my catch handler??? In another PC where SQL Compact is installed no error I get!!! Any idea y is that so???

The intention is that the user can search for multiple keywords and it will search for the keywords on every property in my Media entity. Here is a simplified example: var result = repository.GetAll<Media>().Where(x => x.Title.Contains("Apples") || x.Description.Contains("Apples") || x.Tags.Contains("Apples") || x.Title.Contains("Oranges") || x.Description.Contains("Oranges") || x.Tags.Contains("Oranges") || x.Title.Contains("Pears") || x.Description.Contains("Pears") || x.Tags.Contains("Pears") ); In other words, I want to search for the keywords Apples, Oranges, and Pears on the columns Title, Description, and Tags. The outputted SQL looks like this: SELECT * FROM Media this_ WHERE (((((((( this_.Title like '%Apples%' or this_.Description like '%Apples%') or this_.Tags like '%Apples%') or this_.Title like '%Oranges%') or this_.Description like '%Oranges%') or this_.Tags like '%Oranges%') or this_.Title like '%Pears%') or this_.Description like '%Pears%') or this_.Tags like '%Pears%') Is this the most optimal SQL in this case? If not, how do I rewrite the LINQ query to create the most optimal SQL statement? I'm using SQLite for testing and SQL Server for actual deployment.

    I just switched to Windows 7 and love the taskbar and library features. If I make a desktop shortcut to a webpage, then it becomes searchable from the taskbar (i.e., press the Win/meta key and type the shortcut's name and it pops up). The IE bookmarks/favorites already come with shortcuts in your "Favorites" folder. Can I programatically do this with my chrome shortcuts? My first thought was to export bookmarks to IE, but I can't find an option in IE that allows me to export bookmarks/favorites as shortcuts. Thanks!

    Hi guys, in my app i got a TTLauncher Object with some TTLauncherItems in it. Now i want to add some Items dynamically inside my App by pressing a button. Is there a simple way to do that or do i have to create my own methods? In the original facebook application there is already something like that implemented. (You can add your Friends to the Launcher) If not, what would be the best thing to do something like that? Store all "extra items" in a plist oder even in a database and query them, each time TTLauncher object is initialized? Thanks for help :)

I put a breakpoint into the ChangeValue sub but anything happens. I read on some post that handler for the first DropDownList is not necessary but, how is it possible to tell DropDownList to call my sub after changevalue? I want the solr service to startup if I reboot my computer, and I also want it to run by itself instead of me opening up cmd.exe and running it manually, and then having to close my terminal connection (not log off as that will close it). What options do I have? I am on windows server 2008, IIS7 running a asp.net application that uses solr.

  • Add jar to EAR in Eclipse

    I have several projects in an EAR in Eclipse. These projects themselves have dependency jar's on the build path marked as "do not export, do not contribute to others". Now in Eclipse I add jar's to the EAR via the EAR properties "Java EE Module Dependencies". I browse to the jar (add jar) and click ok. The jar is added to the list. When I click apply, the added jar is gone from the list, it cannot be found in other properties, it is contained in the hidden folder .settings in the file org.eclipse.wst.common.component. This behaviour does not make much sense to me, what am I missing?
