• how to display a JFrame from an applet?

  Hello everyone, I have this class called PollFrame that extends JFrame in a file called PollFrame.java . PollFrame contains a form. I have an applet, which has a button in it. When the button is clicked, I want the PollFrame to be displayed.   Hi Everyone, I'm very close and have this working in Safari, Firefox and IE8, however IE7 the labels and radio buttons do not align vertically. Thanks! EDIT: Based on the suggestion to check the rest of my html and css. I updated the code above and now it accurately demonstrates the problem. If I take font-size out of #master-container it lines up but then it is not the proper font-size. I tried to add a font-size to ul.inputlist li input but that didn't help. Any suggestions? • Relative Footer with Absolute DIV Elements

  Hi, I'm creating a wordpress theme where the header and the nav bar are positioned absolutely, and the footer needs to be positioned relatively depending on the height of the content on each page. When I try to set the footer's positioning to relative, however, it appears at the top of the page underneath the content. All elements are in a relatively positioned container. Is there any way to fix this, or to dynamically get the height of the content plus the header and nav bar?   I need to connect to a MongoDB instance from my EJB3 application, running on glassfish 3.0.1. The Mongo project provides a set of drivers, and I'm able to use them in a standalone Java application. How would I use them in a JEE application? Or maybe better phrasing: how would I make a 3rd party library available to my application when it runs in an EJB container? • calling Valums Ajax uploader from other DOM element

  I'm facing a problem with the valums Ajax File upload. Since the plugin is working perfectly after a few modifications on the server side, I cannot implement a specific behavior. My DOM is composed with an input file plus the container to instantiate the fileuploader buttons. • Android fragments problems different layouts

  I have two layouts: one for portait with one container and another for landscape with two containers.   Dear all, I recently asked a question about creating elements with jquery. Specifically I needed input boxes created/deleted depending on the value of a particular select box. Is there a way to have the values remaining in the text boxes when the selection is changed? For example, lets say the select element value is set to '2' so that there are 2 input boxes showing. If there is input already entered in these boxes and the user changes the select element value to '3' is there a way to get the first 2 input boxes to retain their value?   I am trying to take a PHP variable and pass it along to Flash via Flash vars. My end goal is to pass a string formatted as XML to Flash, but because I'm struggling I've stripped everything down to the basics. I'm just trying to pass a simple PHP string variable to Flash via FlashVars with SWFObject but something isn't right. The page won't load when I try to pass the variable inside of php tags, but it will load if I just pass a hard coded string. • Java design: too many getters

  After writing a few lesser programs when learning Java the way I've designed the programs is with Model-View-Control. With using MVC I have a plethora of getter methods in the model for the view to use. It feels that while I gain on using MVC, for every new value added I have to add two new methods in the model which quickly get all cluttered with getter & setters. So I was thinking, maybe I should use the notifyObserver method that takes an argument. But wouldn't feel very smart to send every value by itself either so I figured, maybe if I send a kind of container with all the values, preferably only those that actually changed. What this would accomplish would be that instead of having a whole lot of getter methods I could just have one method in the model which put all relevant values in the container. Then in the view I would have a method called from the update which extracted the values from the container and assigning them to the correct fields. I have two questions concerning this. First: is this actually a viable way to do this. Would you recommend me doing something along these lines? Secondly: if I do use this plan and I don't want to keep sending fields that didn't actually change. How would I handle that without having to have if statements to check if the value is not null for every single value?

• WPF/SL EventAggregator implementation with durable subscribers behavior?

  Hi. Currently I'm building an application using latest Prism for Silverlight 4. I've a module and in that module I've two views with view models. Also I've a module view with two regions for each view. In module initialization I'm registering my views and view models in Unity container and also register views with corresponding regions. The problem is that views should display something similar to table-detail information - first view shows available entities ans the second view shows detail of selected entity. I need a way how to pass them initial selected entity. Newly created first view doesn't have any selected entity and newly created second view doesn't show any details. Currently I'm doing that this way: In module I create two view models and register them as instances in Unity container and then I register views as types for corresponding regions. Each view subscribes to EntitySelectedEvent from EventAggregator. Module initializer publish this event after initialization and this way two views are selecting the same entity. I know this looks ugly - I tried publishing this event from one of view models but the problems is that EventAggregator in Prism doesn't support durable subscribers - this means that if the second view model didn't subscribe to event before the first view model fired it, it won't receive and event. I know this is a normal behavior of EventAggregator, but I'm looking for a solution when view models can fire events without depending on initialization order of them - that is the first model can fire event before the second model was created and the second model will receive this 'queued' event after subscribing to it. Are there any other messaging implementations for WPF/SL which do support such behavior or using a mediator (in my example it's a module itself) isn't such a bad idea after all? One big problem with mediator is that models must be created right away in initialize and they can't be registered as types in container because this leads again to missing subscribers.

• HTML onmouseover doesn't work to show up text

  I'm trying to show some information on a picture when onmouseover/onmouseout event occurs. What I want to achieve is something like this website does on top selling. My code is like this: <div class="container" onmouseover="$('#info').css('display','block');" onmouseout="$('#info').css('display','none');"> <img src=..."> <div id="info" style="display:none"> ... some text ... </div> </div> So div info block is initially hidden, but when mouse is on a picture I want the information to appear on corresponding picture (with tint background on the image to see text well). But somewhat it doesn't work. I appreciate any suggestion how to approach this problem. Edit: more precisely, the reason why I choose to use inline because I need to show/hide text corresponding to the image(contain unique div id)that user put their mouse on/out. That means I have many div container and each container has unique div id.

When more than one video, it only shows the first video pic. Works fine with no bitrate switching.   I am running the 2.0 RTM of NServiceBus and am getting a NullReferenceException when my MessageModule binds the CurrentSessionContext to my NHibernate sessionfactory. Should this call to configure NServiceBus occur later in the lifecycle than Application_Start? • Positioning / Scrolling problem with Flex popup.

Basically I'm wanting to create a popup which will scroll with the parent container - this is necessary because the parent container is large and if the user's browser window isn't large enough (this will be the case the majority of the time) - they will have to use the scrollbar of the container to scroll down. I want to use RTMP and HTTP both. My requirement is as follows- Which codec and container will be best? Should I use FLV to play video on mobile device? RTSP required or can be use RTMP? Is NetStream and NetConnection methods different from Flash Player in Flash Lite Player? How to play 3gp video using RTMP stream ie. ns.play(“mp4:mobilevideo.3gp”, 0, -1, true) is it ok or any thing else required? For mobile browser and computer browser, can I use single player or I have to make different player for computer browser and mobile browser? It would be better if I can do it with single player for both mobile and computer browser. Sample code required for testing. If you can.   I'm creating a DerivedListBox : ListBox and a DerivedHeaderedContentControl : HeaderedContentControl, which will serve as a container for each item in the ListBox. In order to calculate the size available for the expanded content of the DerivedHeaderedContentControls, I am storing each container object in a list within the DerivedListBox. This way I can calculate the height of the headers of each DerivedHeaderedContentControl and subtract that from the total size available to the DerivedListBox.   Hi, I've been working on my iphone game recently and came across a forked road when deciding the design of my various classes. So far I've adhered to the MVC pattern but the following situation had me confused: I have 4 buttons displayed visually. Each button though consists of a container UIView (which I've subclassed) and 2 UIButtons (also subclassed) as subviews. When you press a button, it does the flip effect plus other stuff. The user input is using target-action from my container UIView to my controller. This part is ok, the following part is the debatable part: So I've subclassed the container view as well as the UIButtons and I need to add more data/methods (somewhere) to do more things. Putting data that needs to be serialized and non-rendering related code in the view classes seems to break the MVC design but at the moment, it makes the most sense to me to put it there. It's almost like my subclassed views are their own little MVC's and it seems neat. Separating out the data/methods from the view to my main controller in this case seems unnecessary and a more work. How should I be doing it? Thanks heaps.

  I have this: $("a.money").colorbox({href:$("a.money").attr("href")+" div#content"}); Which opens an overlay but only of the content within the #content selector. If I add iframe:true, this will no longer work. Is there a way to get it to work with an iframe? However, this led me to another problem I realized. Assuming I got this to work without the alert, it will only work for that initial page. For example, if I loaded up a form in the iframe, after submitting the form, I would once again see the whole layout instead of just the #content portion. Is it possible to continue only showing the #content portion of the page upon further navigation?

  Is it possible to define resource references that are applicable to all EJBs in an application? Currently I have an ejb-jar.xml that looks something like this: <ejb-jar> <enterprise-beans> <session id="foo"> <!-- snip --> <resource-ref> <res-ref-name>jdbc/myDatasource</res-ref-name> <res-type>javax.sql.DataSource</res-type> <res-auth>Container</res-auth> </resource-ref> </session> <session id="bar"> <!-- snip --> <resource-ref> <res-ref-name>jdbc/myDatasource</res-ref-name> <res-type>javax.sql.DataSource</res-type> <res-auth>Container</res-auth> </resource-ref> </session> </enterprise-beans> </ejb-jar> You'll notice that both EJBs have the same resource-ref defined for both of them. Is there a way to factor this duplication out within a J2EE 1.4 application? Ideally I should be able to define the jdbc/myDatasource resource once within the application and have anything running inside that container be able to access it by doing a JNDI lookup for "java:comp/env/jdbc/myDatasource". Is there any way to accomplish this?
