  • Positioning / Scrolling problem with Flex popup.

    - by user284163
    Hi all, I'm trying to work out a specific problem I'm having with positioning in Flex using the PopUpManager. Basically I'm wanting to create a popup which will scroll with the parent container - this is necessary because the parent container is large and if the user's browser window isn't large enough (this will be the case the majority of the time) - they will have to use the scrollbar of the container to scroll down. The problem is that the popup is positioned relative to another component, and it needs to stay by that component. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" layout="absolute"> <mx:Script> <![CDATA[ import mx.core.UITextField; import mx.containers.TitleWindow; import mx.managers.PopUpManager; private function clickeroo(event:MouseEvent):void { var popup:TitleWindow = new TitleWindow(); popup.width = 250; popup.height = 300; popup.title = "Example"; var tf:UITextField = new UITextField(); tf.wordWrap = true; tf.width = popup.width - 30; tf.text = "This window stays put and doesn't scroll when the hbox is scrolled (even with using the hbox as parent in the addPopUp method), I need the popup to be local to the HBox."; popup.addChild(tf); PopUpManager.addPopUp(popup, hbox, false); PopUpManager.centerPopUp(popup); } ]]> </mx:Script> <mx:HBox width="100%" height="2000" id="hbox"> <mx:Button label="Click Me" click="clickeroo(event)"/> </mx:HBox> </mx:Application> Could anyone give me any pointers in the right direction? Thanks.

  • Disable second dropdown menu before first is populated

  • event.target doesn't work

    - by rdesign
    Hey guys, I've wrote some jquery code with some draggable elements and one droparea. Unfortunately my droparea can't make a difference between various object. Here's my code. <script type="text/javascript"> $(function() { $("#droparea").droppable({ drop: function(event) { var $target = $(event.target); if($target.is("#flyer")) { alert("adasd"); } } }); }); </script> </head> <body> <div id="droparea"></div> <div class="polaroid" id="flyer"> <img src="images/muesliFlyer.png" alt="flyer" /> </div> Without the if it works. But then I can't get the dropped object. Any ideas why my target isn't recognized? thanks a lot.

  • python: nonblocking subprocess, check stdout

    - by Will Cavanagh
    Ok so the problem I'm trying to solve is this: I need to run a program with some flags set, check on its progress and report back to a server. So I need my script to avoid blocking while the program executes, but I also need to be able to read the output. Unfortunately, I don't think any of the methods available from Popen will read the output without blocking. I tried the following, which is a bit hack-y (are we allowed to read and write to the same file from two different objects?) import time import subprocess from subprocess import * with open("stdout.txt", "wb") as outf: with open("stderr.txt", "wb") as errf: command = ['Path\\To\\Program.exe', 'para', 'met', 'ers'] p = subprocess.Popen(command, stdout=outf, stderr=errf) isdone = False while not isdone : with open("stdout.txt", "rb") as readoutf: #this feels wrong for line in readoutf: print(line) print("waiting...\\r\\n") if(p.poll() != None) : done = True time.sleep(1) output = p.communicate()[0] print(output) Unfortunately, Popen doesn't seem to write to my file until after the command terminates. Does anyone know of a way to do this? I'm not dedicated to using python, but I do need to send POST requests to a server in the same script, so python seemed like an easier choice than, say, shell scripting. Thanks! Will

  • Adding custom valiadtion to ASP.NET controls

    - by Brian
    We're trying to build a simple asp control for some clients where they can just drop in a single block - i.e. <captcha:CaptchaControl ID="CaptchaControl1" runat="server" Server="http://localhost:51947/" /> and have it render the control. The catch is that I can't get this to include custom validation. Right now I'm using the RenderContents function to display the layout of the control itself as well as hook it up the to Javascript. The problem is that I don't know how to get custom validation to fire when used as part of a control. protected override void RenderContents(HtmlTextWriter output) { output.Write(@" <script type=""text/javascript"" src=""http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.3/jquery.min.js""></script> <link rel=""stylesheet"" type=""text/css"" href=""/Layout/CaptchaLayout.css"" /> //etc <asp:Textbox id=""text1"" runat=""server"" text=""""></asp:Textbox> <asp:CustomValidator id=""CustomValidator2"" runat=""server"" ControlToValidate = ""text1"" ErrorMessage = ""You must enter at least 8 characters!"" ClientValidationFunction=""validateLength"" > </asp:CustomValidator>" ); } Any suggestions for a better way to do this?

  • JsonParseException on Valid JSON

    - by user2909602
    I am having an issue calling a RESTful service from my client code. I have written the RESTful service using CXF/Jackson, deployed to localhost, and tested using RESTClient successfully. Below is a snippet of the service code: @POST @Produces("application/json") @Consumes("application/json") @Path("/set/mood") public Response setMood(MoodMeter mm) { this.getMmDAO().insert(mm); return Response.ok().entity(mm).build(); } The model class and dao work successfully and the service itself works fine using RESTClient. However, when I attempt to call this service from Java Script, I get the error below on the server side: Caused by: org.codehaus.jackson.JsonParseException: Unexpected character ('m' (code 109)): expected a valid value (number, String, array, object, 'true', 'false' or 'null') I have copied the client side code below. To make sure it has nothing to do with the JSON data itself, I used a valid JSON string (which works using RESTClient, JSON.parse() method, and JSONLint) in the vars 'json' (string) and 'jsonData' (JSON). Below is the Java Script code: var json = '{"mood_value":8,"mood_comments":"new comments","user_id":5,"point":{"latitude":37.292929,"longitude":38.0323323},"created_dtm":1381546869260}'; var jsonData = JSON.parse(json); $.ajax({ url: 'http://localhost:8080/moodmeter/app/service/set/mood', dataType: 'json', data: jsonData, type: "POST", contentType: "application/json" }); I've seen the JsonParseException a number of times on other threads, but in this case the JSON itself appears to be valid (and tested). Any thoughts are appreciated.

  • Creating an AJAX Searchable Database.

    - by Austin
    Currently I am using MySQLi to parse a CSV file into a Database, that step has been accomplished. However, My next step would be to make this Database searchable and automatically updated via jQuery.ajax(). Some people suggest that I print out the Database in another page and access it externally. I'm quite new to jquery + ajax so if anyone could point me in the right direction that would be greatly appreciated. I understand that the documentation on ajax should be enough to tell me what I'm looking for but it appears to talk only about retrieving data from an external file, what about from a mysql database? The code so far stands: <head> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4/jquery.min.js"></script> </head> <body> <input type="text" id="search" name="search" /> <input type="submit" value="submit"> <?php show_source(__FILE__); error_reporting(E_ALL);ini_set('display_errors', '1'); $category = NULL; $mc = new Memcache; $mc->addServer('localhost','11211'); $sql = new mysqli('localhost', 'user', 'pword', 'db'); $cache = $mc->get("updated_DB"); $query = 'SELECT cat, name, web,kw FROM infoDB WHERE cat LIKE ? OR name LIKE ? OR web LIKE ? OR kw LIKE ?'; $results = $sql->prepare($query); $results->bind_param('ssss', $query, $query, $query, $query); $results->execute(); $results->store_result(); ?> </body> </html>

  • A jscript variable in a Query

    - by lerac
    Maybe a very simple question. How can I put in this code <Query> <Where> <Eq> <FieldRef Name="Judge_x0020_1" /> <Value Type="Text">mr. R. Sanches</Value> </Eq> </Where> </script> </Query> A variable from jscript in the area of the code where mr. R. Sanches is written. So my jScript contains a dynamic text variable I want to replace mr. R. Sanches with. See where it says THE JAVESCRIPT VAR underneath here: <Query> <Where> <Eq> <FieldRef Name="Judge_x0020_1" /> <Value Type="Text">THE JAVASCRIPT VAR</Value> </Eq> </Where> </script> </Query>

  • Forking in PHP on Windows

    - by Doug Kavendek
    We are running PHP on a Windows server (a source of many problems indeed, but migrating is not an option currently). There are a few points where a user-initiated action will need to kick off a few things that take a while and about which the user doesn't need to know if they succeed or fail, such as sending off an email or making sure some third-party accounts are updated. If I could just fork with pcntl_fork(), this would be very simple, but the PCNTL functions are not available in Windows. It seems the closest I can get is to do something of this nature: exec( 'php-cgi.exe somescript.php' ); However, this would be far more complicated. The actions I need to kick off rely on a lot of context that already will exist in the running process; to use the above example, I'd need to figure out the essential data and supply it to the new script in some way. If I could fork, it'd just be a matter of letting the parent process return early, leaving the child to work on a few more things. I've found a few people talking about their own work in getting various PCNTL functions compiled on Windows, but none seemed to have anything available (broken links, etc). Despite this question having practically the same name as mine, it seems the problem was more execution timeout than needing to fork. So, is my best option to just refactor a bit to deal with calling php-cgi, or are there other options? Edit: It seems exec() won't work for this, at least not without me figuring some other aspect of it, as it waits until the call returns. I figured I could use START, sort of like exec( 'start php-cgi.exe somescript.php' );, but it still waits until the other script finishes.

  • Embedding two slideshows

    - by Jennifer Heidelberg
    Hello, I am trying to embedd two slideshows into my flash file. I already managed to integrate one, but I can't integrate another since my knowledge of actionscript is very limited. For people that know Flash well it is a really easy question. What do I have to rename in this script so that I can create a second slideshow, without always calling on the first one. Here is the script for the first slideshow: (I got it from the website where I bought the template for the slideshow from) var loader:Loader = new Loader(); var monoslideshow:Object; loader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.CO MPLETE, onLoadComplete); addChild(loader); loader.load(new URLRequest("monoslideshow.swf")); function onLoadComplete(event:Event):void { monoslideshow = event.target.content; monoslideshow.showLogo = false; monoslideshow.setViewport(new Rectangle(730, 20, 700, 660)); var xml:XML = monoslideshow.loadXML(xml); } Thank you very much in advance!! • SoundManager / Jquery / Regular expression : Parse class name before certain character To Get SoundI

    - by j-man86
    So I am trying to access a jquery soundmanager variable from one script (wpaudio.js – from the wp-audio plugin) inside of another (init.js – my own javascript). I am creating an alternate pause/play button higher up on the page and need to resume the current soundID, which is contained as part of a class name in the DOM. Here is the code that creates that class name in wpaudio.js: function wpaButtonCheck() { if (!this.playState || this.paused) jQuery('#' + this.sID + '_play').attr('src', wpa_url + '/wpa_play.png'); else jQuery('#' + this.sID + '_play').attr('src', wpa_url + '/wpa_pause.png'); } Here is the output: where wpa0 would be the sID of the sound I need. My current script in init.js is: $('.mixesSidebar #currentSong .playBtn').toggle(function() { soundManager.pauseAll(); $(this).addClass('paused'); }, function() { soundManager.resumeAll(); $(this).removeClass('paused'); }); I need to change resumeAll to "resume(this.sID)", but I need to somehow store the sID onclick and call it in the above function. Alternately, I think a regular expression that could get the class name of the current play button and either parse the string up to the "_play" or use a trim function to get rid of "_play"– but I'm not sure how to do this. Thanks for your help!

  • Sql Server Compact - Schema Management

    - by Richard B
    I've been searching for some time for a good solution to implement the idea of managing schema on a Sql Server Compact 3.5 db. I know of several ways of managing schema on Sql Express/std/enterprise, but Compact Edition doesn't support the necessary tools required to use the same methodology. Any suggestions/tips? I should expand this to say that it is for 100+ clients with wrapperware software. As the system changes, I need to publish update scripts alongside the new binaries to the client. I was looking for a decent method by which to publish this without having to just hand the client a script file and say "Run this in SSMSE". Most clients are not capable of doing such a beast. A buddy of mine disclosed a partial script on how to handle the SQL Server piece of my task, but never worked on Compact Edition... It looks like I'll be on my own for this. What I think that I've decided to do, and it's going to need a "geek week" to accomplish, is that I'm going to write some sort of tool much like how WiX and nAnt works, so that I can just write an overzealous Xml document to handle the work. If I think that it is worthwhile, I'll publish it on CodePlex and/or CodeProject because I've used both sites a bit to gain better understanding of concepts for jobs I've done in the past, and I think it is probably worthwhile to give back a little.

    - by Dejan.S
    Hi I'm using jTemplate for the first time. I been reading and it's not that hard to use it BUT what I can not figure out and find any thing on is how to work with one object, all the examples I find are a list of objects. My situation is I need to work with one object only. How can I do that? I mean How to work with the data in the jTemplate like this example but one only. <script type="text/html" id="TemplateResultsTable"> {#template MAIN} <table cellpadding="10" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <th>Artist</th> <th>Company</th> <th>Title</th> <th>Price</th> </tr> {#foreach $T.d as CD} {#include ROW root=$T.CD} {#/for} </table> {#/template MAIN} {#template ROW} <tr class="{#cycle values=['','evenRow']}"> <td>{$T.Artist}</td> <td>{$T.Company}</td> <td>{$T.Title}</td> <td>{$T.Price}</td> </tr> {#/template ROW} </script>

  • How to I get rid of these double quotes?

    - by Danger Angell
    I'm using ym4r to render a Google Map. Relevant portion of Controller code: @event.checkpoints.each do |checkpoint| unless checkpoint.lat.blank? current_checkpoint = GMarker.new([checkpoint.lat, checkpoint.long], :title => checkpoint.name, :info_window => checkpoint.name, :icon => checkpoint.discipline.icon, :draggable => false ) @map.overlay_init(current_checkpoint) end It's this line that is hanging me up: :icon => checkpoint.discipline.icon, Using this to render the map in the view: <%= @map.to_html %> <%= @map.div(:width => 735, :height => 450, :position => 'relative') %> The javascript that is puking looks like this: icon : "mtn_biking" and I need it looking like this: icon : mtn_biking This is the HTML generated: <script type="text/javascript"> var mtn_bike = addOptionsToIcon(new GIcon(),{image : "/images/map/mtn_bike.png",iconSize : new GSize(32,32),iconAnchor : new GPoint(16,32),infoWindowAnchor : new GPoint(16,0)});var map; window.onload = addCodeToFunction(window.onload,function() { if (GBrowserIsCompatible()) { map = new GMap2(document.getElementById("map")); map.setCenter(new GLatLng(37.7,-97.3),4);map.addOverlay(addInfoWindowToMarker(new GMarker(new GLatLng(34.9,-82.22),{icon : "mtn_bike",draggable : false,title : "CP1"}),"CP1",{})); map.addOverlay(addInfoWindowToMarker(new GMarker(new GLatLng(35.9,-83.22),{icon : "flat_water",draggable : false,title : "CP2"}),"CP2",{})); map.addOverlay(addInfoWindowToMarker(new GMarker(new GLatLng(36.9,-84.22),{icon : "white_water",draggable : false,title : "CP3"}),"CP3",{}));map.addControl(new GLargeMapControl()); map.addControl(new GMapTypeControl()); } }); </script> the issue is the double quotes in: icon : "mtn_bike" icon : "flat_water" icon : "white_water" I need a way to get rid of those double quotes in the generated HTML

  • Getting Google results in Java? Need help!

    - by Cris Carter
    Hello. Right now, I'm trying to get the results from Google in Java, by searching for a term. I'm using a desktop program, not an applet. That in itself isn't complicated. but then Google gave me a 403 error. Anyways, I added referrer and User Agent and then it worked. Now, my problem is that I don't get the results page from Google. Instead, I get their script which gets the results page. My code right now simply uses a GET request on "http://www.google.com/search?q=" + Dork; Then it outputs each line. Here is what I get when I run my program: <.!doctype html<.head<.titledork - Google Search<./title<.scriptwindow.google={kEI:"9myaS-Date).getTime()}}};try{}catch(u){}window.google.jsrt_kill=1; align:center}#logo{display:block;overflow:hidden;position:relative;width:103px;height:37px; <./ script<./div Lots of stuff like that. I shortened it (A LOT) and put in dots to fit it here. So my big question is: How do I turn this whole mess into the nice results page I get when searching Google with a browser? Any help would be seriously appreciated, and I really need the answer fast. Also, please keep in mind that I do NOT want to use Google's API for this. Thanks in advance!

  • jquery Tree Traversal prev() in TD's

    Hello, I'm trying to check/unckeck a selectbox by jquery in a previous TD. I have tried for hours several combination with prev(), parent(), closest(), but still without result... Here is the example code: <table> <tr> <td><input type="checkbox" class="resultcheck"></td> <td><label class="resultchecklabel">Text 1</label></td> </tr> <tr> <td><input type="checkbox" class="resultcheck"></td> <td><label class="resultchecklabel">Text 2</label></td> </tr> </table> <script> $('.resultchecklabel').live('click', function() { if ($(this).prev('td input:checked').val() != null) { $(this).prev('td').prev("input").removeAttr("checked"); } else { $(this).prev('td').prev("input").attr("checked","checked"); } }); </script> Who can help me to solve this question?   • JQuery-UI Drag, Drop and Re-Drag Clones on Re-Drag

    - by amarcy
    I am using the following code to extend the JQuery-UI demos included with the download. I am trying to set up a container that the user can drag items into and then move the items around within the container. I incorporated the answer from http://stackoverflow.com/questions/867469/jquery-draggable-clone which works with one problem. <script> $(document).ready(function() { $("#droppable").droppable({ accept: '.ui-widget-content', drop: function(event, ui) { if($(ui).parent(":not(:has(#id1))")){ $(this).append($(ui.helper).clone().attr("id", "id1")); } $("#id1").draggable({ containment: 'parent', }); } }); $(".ui-widget-content").draggable({helper: 'clone'}); }); </script> div class="demo"> <div id="draggable" class="ui-widget-content"> <p>Drag me around</p> </div> <div id="droppable" class="ui-widget-header"> <p>Drop here</p> </div> When an item is dropped onto the droppable container it can be dragged one time and when it is dropped after that drag it loses its dragging capability. How do I allow for the item to be dragged multiple times after it has been added to the droppable container?

  • Gems and Ubuntu 9.04

    - by jules
    Hi, I recently upgraded to Ubuntu 9.04 and I have issues using gems. I have installed ruby, ruby gems and rails using apt-get The rails command do work. I have then installed capistrano and other gems (such as heroku). In order to do that, I have used the command sudo gem install XXX When I want to use the cap command it does not work: bash: cap: command not found It is the same with the other gem commands. Do I have something particular to do so that the gem commands works ?

  • popen fails with "sh: <command>: not found"

    - by smallmeans
    I'm developing a server application and I recently encountered this wierd error on a testing server (Debian Squeeze). Every executable I pass to popen fails with a msg: sh: sort: not found // happens to any command This happens regardless whether I point to the full path returned by "type" or keep it short . As mentioned earlier, this happens at only one testing environment, to add confusion, am running the same OS and had no problem whatsoever. Popen is apparently using sh to execute commands, but if I run the same command thru the prompt (bash or sh), everything's fine Thanks in advance (PS: even tried Python os.popen just to nail this head scratcher, and it works!) Edit this is a simple call that fails: $command="tail -10 myfile"; $handle = popen($command.' 2>&1','r'); if($handle){ while (!feof($handle)){ ....//process buffer } } returns: sh: tail: not found

  • A method to change effective user id of a running program?

    - by Brendan Long
    I'm writing a simple package manager and I'd like to automatically try sudo if the program isn't run as root. I found a function called seteuid, which looks likes it's exactly what I need, but I don't have the permissions to run it. So far all I can think of is a bash script to check before they get to the actual binary, but I'd like to do this all as C++ if possible. Is there any method of changing a processes's euid after it starts executing? Or a way to call sudo?

  • SoundManager / Jquery : Get SoundID sID

    - by j-man86
    So I am trying to access a jquery soundmanager variable from one script (wpaudio.js – from the wp-audio plugin) inside of another (init.js – my own javascript). I am creating an alternate pause/play button higher up on the page and need to resume the current soundID, which is contained as part of a class name in the DOM. Here is the code that creates that class name in wpaudio.js: function wpaButtonCheck() { if (!this.playState || this.paused) jQuery('#' + this.sID + '_play').attr('src', wpa_url + '/wpa_play.png'); else jQuery('#' + this.sID + '_play').attr('src', wpa_url + '/wpa_pause.png'); } Here is the output: <img src="http://24.232.185.173/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/wpaudio-mp3-player/wpa_play.png" class="wpa_play" id="wpa0_play"> where wpa0 would be the sID of the sound I need.

  • jquery GET and POST confusion

    - by JPro
    Hi, I am not quiet sure how jquery works. I want to know few things about the GET and POST in terms of jQuery. I use the following code in my app : <script> function example_ajax_request() { $('#example-placeholder').html('<p>Loading results ... <img src="ajax-loader.gif" /></p>'); $('#example-placeholder').load("ind.php?show=" + $('#box option:selected').val()); } </script> I am not using either GET or POST in this method. I am using a button to call the example_ajax_request to process the request and get the results. Sometimes I see code like this: $.ajax({ url: 'loader.php', data: 'somedata', method: 'GET', success: function(data){ $('#er').text(data); } }); My doubt is, is it required or not that we use a method to post the data? (either GET or POST) while send and getting the data in PHP webapps? The code that I use first works fine even though I do not use any POST or GET methods. Any inputs? Thanks.
