Multiple buttons on screen

I am not a game developer. I am a java developer. However I need some information and I am hoping you can help me. I want to build an app that has 3 buttons on the touch screen - 1,2 and 3. Depending on the screen input the user has to press or release button 3 but (s)he will have to keep either 1 or 2 depressed all the time. For example: Keep 1 pressed while operating button 3 or Keep 2 pressed while operating button 3. Please let me know if this is even doable. Best Regards, \|/

php cms withouth database

A friend of mine asked me for a easy website for him. As it was just 3 subpages, no database need or anything, I've done it quite fast with plain PHP, HTML, JS and CSS. But then another and another friend showed up. They only wanted arrange differently they navigation, some different picutures etc. So I though, is there any kind of CMS, that allows build small business website (barbershop, local groceries shop), with small list of subpages, yet allowing us to arrange look'n'feel. There's no need for the databas as content won't change, or can be stored in simple textfiles for example. Things like WordPress might be simple overkill Does anyone know such cms?

Possible Duplicates: Why did Facebook, Wordpress, vBulletin use PHP/MySQL? Why did Facebook use C++ beside PHP? While Facebook chose PHP and Twitter chose Ruby on Rails, I stopped and asked myself a question! why did they chose PHP and Ruby on Rails? Why not ASP.NET or Java? Is it because of bieng open source? or what?. I just want to know the right reason so I can examine their vision and decide which technology should I use if I want to build something unique.

What is the starting point for Ubuntu app development? [closed]

I'm thinking of developing software for Ubuntu and other related Linux-based distros (like Linux Mint). But currently am at a loss for where to start. Would learning Python be enough/good? And what are the other things I should know about before starting this kind of developing? And will I be able to publish my apps to a software store like Ubuntu store even if I am from outside USA/UK? If not, what are the options I have to make my apps reach the audience? As a lot of users had asked, I intend to build applications only for Linux (I'm thinking of Gnome) that will be a bit business and enterprise oriented. Currently I am an Oracle certified Java developer in J2SE and J2ME. And I know Python a bit.

HTML5, PHP, JAVA or asp?

I am building a new website for a friend of mine. Its all plain html, and a server side include. The problem is to build static pages for 500 products would not be fun to create, or maintain. So i am forced to at least put dynamic information on these pages based off a spreadsheet, or dynamic pages all together. What i want to do is have a spreadsheet that can be used to keep track of in stock quantity, sku numbers, ecc.. that way i dont have to update hundreds of pages every night. He can just edit the spreadsheet and the pages will automatically adjust. I am a busy man, and i am not asking anyone to just give me the answer. But to save some time what is more worth learning to get this done fastest. HTML5, PHP, JAVA asp, or is there somehthing else better suited?

Hibernate + PostgreSQL : relation does not exist - SQL Error: 0, SQLState: 42P01

Hello, I am having some problems trying to work with PostgreSQL and Hibernate, more specifically, the issue mentioned in the title. I've been searching the net for a few hours now but none of the found solutions worked for me. I am using Eclipse Java EE IDE for Web Developers. Everything is lowercase, so I don't think that it's that issue. If I switch to MySQL, the same code same project (I only change driver,URL, authentication), it works. In Eclipse Datasource Explorer, I can ping the DB and it succeeds. Weird thing is that I can't see the tables from there either. It expands the public schema but it doesn't expand the tables. Could it be some permission issue? Thanks!

Using IIS Application Request Routing (ARR) for ASP.NET MVC

I use a simple ASP.NET MVC web (the template you use when you create a new site) and the web works as expected in my live environment. I now try to use IIS Application Request Routing version 2. I have a rule that send all reuqests to a different server that match a rule. The settings are a bit like this: http://blogs.iis.net/wonyoo/archive/2008/07/09/application-request-routing-arr-as-a-reverse-proxy.aspx My rule is just a bit different it is /shop(.*). Only requests that contain shop are send to a different server. I have to use rewrite, not redirect (The same as in the Picture) This works as long as the web the original requests go to is no ASP.NET MVC web. I tried to use a plain htm file in the webfolder and it worked. If put a compiled ASP.NET application into the webfolder it worked. But as soon as I put an ASP.NET MVC web into the folder, request arr served by this application. My understanding is that the ARR should kick in before the web application gets the chance to handle the request. Did anybody use ARR sucessfully as a reverse proxy for a ASP.NET MVC web? Weblogic is slow to start (11mins) under VM (VirtualBox and VMware)

(SOLVED! BY FAKING SYSTEM RANDOM GENERATOR, SEE BELOW) I'm setting up a VM image for my dev/build team. Inside that VM a Weblogic domain should be running. I use Ububtu server distro, WLS 9.2MP3 + ALSB. Everything works OK, quite fast, but at the start time the WLS stops twice for a measurable amounts of time. Two stops in total amount to about 10 minutes delay. For tasks where deployment requires server restart it's very annoying. :-( Sleeping time is not constant, sometimes the server starts very fast, sometimes so-so, sometimes 10 minutes or more. Interesting that if I press Enter while looking at the stopped server, it wakes up much faster, sometimes after a few seconds. WLST (Weblogic Jython shell) is also hanging for quite a time when executed in VM. It doesn't react to Enter though. Here must be some developers who run WLS with a VM. I wonder if others have the same problem? Was someone able to solve it? Configuration Error ASP.NET password format specified is invalid

I am getting the above error in IIS 6.0 now when I browse my C# / SQL web application. This was built in VS 2008 and SS 2008 on a 32-bit XP OS. The application was working before I added Login controls to it. However, this is my first time configuring Login/password controls so I am probably missing something really basic. This error doesn't happen until I try to login. Here are the details of my error from IIS; I get the same error in VS: Parser Error Message: Password format specified is invalid. The Network Service account has SELECT, EXECUTE, INSERT, UPDATE access to this database. But one problem I see is that all of the tables in this database are empty except for aspnet_SchemaVersions, which just has 2 records (common and membership). Is this right? I added users and roles via ASP.NET Configuration wizard, and I believe I set this up correctly since I followed the Microsoft tutorial at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms998347.aspx. One other problem I see from VS is after adding content to my Page_Load on my initial login Password.aspx.cs file, I'm getting an invalid cast problem below. I googled this problem also but the solutions I saw confused me even more. MySQL Config File for Large System

We are running MySQL on a Windows 2003 Server Enterpise Edition box. MySQL is about the only program running on the box. We have approx. 8 slaves replicated to it, but my understanding is that having multiple slaves connecting to the same master does not significantly slow down performance, if at all. The master server has 16G RAM, 10 Terabyte drives in RAID 10, and four dual-core processors. From what I have seen from other sites, we have a really robust machine as our master db server. We just upgraded from a machine with only 4G RAM, but with similar hard drives, RAID, etc. It also ran Apache on it, so it was our db server and our application server. It was getting a little slow, so we split the db server onto this new machine and kept the application server on the first machine. We also distributed the application load amongst a few of our other slave servers, which also run the application. The problem is the new db server has mysqld.exe consuming 95-100% of CPU almost all the time and is really causing the app to run slowly. I know we have several queries and table structures that could be better optimized, but since they worked okay on the older, smaller server, I assume that our my.ini (MySQL config) file is not properly configured. Most of what I see on the net is for setting config files on small machines, so can anyone help me get the my.ini file correct for a large dedicated machine like ours? I just don't see how mysqld could get so bogged down! FYI: We have about 100 queries per second. We only use MyISAM tables, so skip-innodb is set in the ini file. And yes, I know it is reading the ini file correctly because I can change some settings (like the server-id and it will kill the server at startup). Are there alternatives to Sysinternals ADInsight?

I had been using ADInsight from Sysinternals to trace Active Directory calls from my workstation, but the application has failed. Where previously the Active Directory events were traced and logged, now the window remains blank, whether the application is in capture mode or not. I have run as Administrator, rebooted, downloaded a new version; none of those actions has returned the program to a functional state. The Sysinternals forums don't offer much hope, since this tool is known to fail often. Is there tool that has similar functionality? Install server 2012 on HP ML110 G7 with B110i controller, no disks found

I'm trying to install Server 2012 on a HP ML110 G7 with a B110i controller and four non hot-swappable SATA drives. I just can't get the Server 2012 boot disk PE environment to find any disks. I have downloaded the latest SPP (Service Pack for Proliant 2012.10) and flashed the BIOS. I have tried two different HP drivers for B110i and Windows X64, 6.18.0.64 and 6.18.2.64 to no avail. I have tried setting the controller to both AHCI and legacy mode in the BIOS, no difference. HP:s SmartStart disc for G7 servers only support installation of up to Windows Server 2008R2. HP:s installation instructions for Server 2012 Essentials says boot from the windows disk and use the storage drivers found on the SPP (I can't find any storage drivers on the SPP disk).

Logs show failed password for invalid user root from <IP Address> port 2924 ssh2

I'm getting a constant flow of these messages in my logs. The port is variable (seemingly between 1024 and 65535). I can simulate it myself by running sftp root@<my ip> I've commented out the sftp subsystem line in my sshd_config. These ports should be closed by provider's firewall. I don't understand: Why sftp would be selecting a random port like that. It seems to be behaving like FTP in passive mode, but I can't make any sense of why that would be. Why it can even hit my server in the first place if these ports are closed.

filestream restore very slow to DR server

We are backing up a database containing 100GB of filestream data. The backup takes under two hours to write. Restoring the same database to the DR environment is taking over forty hours. We don't have the same problem with other (non-filestream) databases, including some that are much larger. How do we try and get to the bottom of the problem. The database is in full recovery mode, and we are doing a full backup. Thanks.

On a Windows 7 computer, running chkdsk /r /f C: in repair mode, it gives the error, Unspecified error 766f6c756d652e63 3f1. or something like that. I have tried the following: uninstalling all antivirus software scanning with MalwareByte's Anti-Malware doing a Disk Cleanup running Disk Defrag booting TRK and running fsck -t ntfs (gives error Unsupported case. and not implemented). I have also tried a System Restore, but there is a Temporary Internet file that appears to be in all restore points, and that file must be corrupted or something, because System Restore always grinds to a halt when it gets to that file. What should I try next? Thanks in advance.

Hello, Recently our network was moved to the corporate network and behind the company firewall. Since the i could not access the FTP Servers using Filezilla. I can connect to them but cannot receive the directory listing. Command: MLSD Response: 500 Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing I can access the server using other softwares ( GnomeCommander ) but i would like to use Filezilla for its advanced features. I tried active and pasive mode but that doesnt work. I trace the problem to the MSLD command. I think if i could make filezilla use LIST command it will work. Any ideeas. Thanks.

Broadcom NIC Teaming w/ 802.3ad and Dell Powerconnect 2824

We have a Poweredge R210 running WS2K8R2. The server has two Broadcom 5716C NICs running Broadcom BASP. I can team the NICs using the 802.3ad protocol on the server end no problem. I have no VLAN. Now I go to the 2824 switch (default settings all round) running in managed mode and create a LAG with ports g1 and g2. As soon as I add these ports, I lose the ability to send traffic to or from the server. I am much more of a server guy than a networking guy, what am I doing wrong here? Server Static IP Address: 10.10.61.15 Network mask: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: 10.10.61.51 The 2824 switch has an IP address of 10.10.61.51 and in turn has its gateway as our firewall server running ISA Server at 10.10.61.50.

Rotate monitor to portrait on Windows Server 2003 with ATI card

Does anyone know if it is possible to rotate a monitor from landscape to portrait mode on Windows Server 2003 32-bit with an ATI video card? According to Dell's site, I should be able to rotate my Dell P2310H monitor by installing drivers from their website, but they don't have drivers for Windows Server 2003. I let Windows Update search for the driver (with the driver CD that came with the monitor in my drive) and it did install drivers, but I still don't see any options for rotating. Some people say that the ATI Catalyst Control Center allows for monitor rotation, but I've never been able to run that software on Windows Server 2003. A google search reports that others have the same problem. Has anyone successfully figured out how to rotate a monitor on Windows Server 2003 with an ATI card?
