  • CGContextSetShadow() - shadow direction reversed between iOS 3.0 and 4.0?

    - by Pascal
    I've been using CGContextSetShadowWithColor() in my Quartz drawing code on the iPhone to generate the "stomped in" look for text and other things (in drawRect: and drawLayer:inContext:). Worked perfectly, but when running the exact same code against iOS 3.2 and now iOS 4.0 I noticed that the shadows are all in the opposite direction. E.g. in the following code I set a black shadow to be 1 pixel above the text, which gave it a "pressed in" look, and now this shadow is 1px below the text, giving it a standard shadow. ... CGContextSetShadowWithColor(context, CGSizeMake(0.f, 1.f), 0.5f, shadowColor); CGContextShowGlyphsAtPoint(context, origin.x, origin.y, glyphs, length); ... Now I don't know whether I am (or have been) doing something wrong or whether there has been a change to the handling of this setting. I haven't applied any transformation that would explain this to me, at least not knowingly. I've flipped the text matrix in one instance, but not in others and this behavior is consistent. Plus I wasn't able to find anything about this in the SDK Release Notes, so it looks like it's probably me. What might be the issue?

  • MFMailComposeController crashing non-deterministically

    - by sss
    Hello, I've been struggling with this issue for a few days. I am trying to use the MFMailComposeController to send emails. What's happening is that the program crashes (long stack-trace below) upon clicking the SEND button. However, this is non-deterministic - sometimes it works immediately, sometimes after a long delay, and most often, it crashes. Here's my code for sending: -(void)mailWithAttachment:(NSString *) fileName type:(NSString*) attachmentType data:(NSData *) attachmentData { MFMailComposeViewController *mc = [[MFMailComposeViewController alloc] init]; mc.mailComposeDelegate = self; if ([MFMailComposeViewController canSendMail]) { [mc setSubject:@"my subject"]; [mc setMessageBody:@"my body" isHTML:YES]; [mc addAttachmentData:attachmentData mimeType:attachmentType fileName:fileName]; [self presentModalViewController:mc animated:YES]; } [mc release]; } didFinish result looks like you'd imagine: -(void)mailComposeController:(MFMailComposeViewController*)controller didFinishWithResult:(MFMailComposeResult)result error:(NSError*)error { [self dismissModalViewControllerAnimated:YES]; //...some other actions here for other UI logic, but problem persists if removed } And the definition of the class: @interface ShareViewController : UIViewController { //... } Here's the stack trace: #0 0x33568534 in gdb_objc_debuggerModeFailure #1 0x3356634e in _rwlock_write_nodebug #2 0x33560940 in map_images #3 0x2fe0413e in __dyld__ZN4dyldL18notifyBatchPartialE17dyld_image_statesbPFPKcS0_jPK15dyld_image_infoE #4 0x2fe042d4 in __dyld__ZN4dyldL11notifyBatchE17dyld_image_states #5 0x2fe0aee0 in __dyld__ZN11ImageLoader4linkERKNS_11LinkContextEbbRKNS_10RPathChainE #6 0x2fe062d6 in __dyld__ZN4dyld4linkEP11ImageLoaderbRKNS0_10RPathChainE #7 0x2fe08188 in __dyld_dlopen #8 0x30c18fd0 in dlopen #9 0x0000390c in <function called from gdb> #10 0x3356628e in getMethodNoSuper_nolock #11 0x335662b8 in _class_getMethodNoSuper_nolock #12 0x3356518a in lookUpMethod #13 0x33562914 in _class_lookupMethodAndLoadCache #14 0x3356264a in objc_msgSend_uncached #15 0x33562a2a in _class_initialize #16 0x33567dfe in prepareForMethodLookup #17 0x33565168 in lookUpMethod #18 0x33562914 in _class_lookupMethodAndLoadCache #19 0x3356264a in objc_msgSend_uncached #20 0x32b2c288 in +[NSTimeZone(NSTimeZone) defaultTimeZone] #21 0x32b2c246 in -[NSCalendarDate initWithTimeIntervalSinceReferenceDate:] #22 0x32b3beb4 in -[NSDate(NSCalendarDateStuff) descriptionWithCalendarFormat:timeZone:locale:] #23 0x323642fc in -[NSDate(Goodies) descriptionForMimeHeaders] #24 0x32a6e812 in -[MailComposeController headersUseSuspendInfo:] #25 0x32a71e38 in -[MailComposeController messageUseSuspendInfo:endingEditing:] #26 0x32a6e594 in -[MailComposeController _getMessage:] #27 0x32a6e536 in -[MailComposeController message] #28 0x32a72bcc in -[MailComposeController deliverMessageRemotely] #29 0x32a7cab0 in -[_MFMailComposeRootViewController mailComposeControllerCompositionFinished:] #30 0x32a6e0a0 in -[MailComposeController sendMessage] #31 0x32a7086a in -[MailComposeController send:] #32 0x32c29ffa in -[NSObject performSelector:withObject:] #33 0x32a661cc in -[MailComposeView _sendButtonClicked:] I've tried the MFMailComposeController as a child of different views with the same result.   • jquery ui slider IE7 bug...

    When you are holding the handles to slide them the width of the range blows out to 100% width, but snaps back to the width it's supposed to be once you release the handle. jQuery 1.4.2 UI 1.8.2 please help jQuery if ($("#topImageSlider").length){ var max = 120; var initialValue = 40; function refreshValue(){ //$('#sliderValue .current').text($("#topImageSlider").slider("value")); $('#sliderValue .current').text($('.ui-slider-range').width()); } $("#topImageSlider").slider({ orientation: 'horizontal', range: "min", max: max, min: 1, value: initialValue, slide: refreshValue, change: refreshValue }).after('<div id="sliderValue"><span class="current">'+ initialValue +'</span> / <span class="max">'+ max +'</span></div>'); } css #topImageSlider, #sliderValue { margin: 0 auto; width: 572px; text-align: center; } #topImageSlider { margin-top: 20px; background: url(../img/bg/slider.png) no-repeat; height: 5px; } #topImageSlider .ui-slider-range { background: url(../img/bg/slider-progress.gif) repeat-x; left: 2px; height: 5px; } #topImageSlider .ui-slider-handle { background: url(../img/btn/slider-handle.png) no-repeat; width: 24px; height: 24px; top: -8px; outline: 0; cursor: pointer; z-index: 999; } #sliderValue { margin-top: 10px; color: #bbb; font-weight: bold; } #sliderValue .current { color: #ff6e0d; }

  • Why does navigationItem.titleView align left when presentmodalviewcontroller called?

    - by jm333
    I'm using a UILabel for the titleView of a navigation bar (I'm making simple in-app web browser). It works fine, except that when I present a modal view controller, the titleView shifts from the center of the navbar to the far left (underneath the back button). I've tested in 3.0 and up. Here is relevant code: - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; // Title view label CGRect labelFrame = CGRectMake(0.0, 0.0, 120.0, 36.0); UILabel *label = [[[UILabel alloc] initWithFrame:labelFrame] autorelease]; label.font = [UIFont boldSystemFontOfSize:14]; label.numberOfLines = 2; label.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; label.textAlignment = UITextAlignmentCenter; label.textColor = [UIColor whiteColor]; label.shadowColor = [UIColor blackColor]; label.shadowOffset = CGSizeMake(0.0, -1.0); label.lineBreakMode = UILineBreakModeMiddleTruncation; self.navigationItem.titleView = label; } -(void)displayComposerSheet:(NSString*)mailto { MFMailComposeViewController *picker = [[MFMailComposeViewController alloc] init]; picker.mailComposeDelegate = self; [self presentModalViewController:picker animated:YES]; [picker release]; } Screenshots: http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/7968/titleviewshift.jpg Any idea why this is happening? Thanks.

  • Mercurial Tagging/Branching Strategy

    - by Tony Trozzo
    My current project is broken down into 3 parts: Website, Desktop Client, and a Plug-in for a third party program. We had started out originally with Subversion for our source control but decided to try Mercurial after reading Joel Spolsky's final post. Considering we haven't really used the majority of svn's potential before, we figured starting fresh with some basic ideas of how source control worked would make this transition easy. However, after setting up our initial repository, we're lost as to how tagging and branching should work on a project like this. Essentially, we're working on all 3 of these parts at the same time. We want a release to be a combination of the 3 parts. Currently we're working in one repository. For the Plug-in part, we have the first iteration finished which we've been referring to as Plug-In v0.1. For the first official build of the other two parts, we'd also like to refer to them as Website v0.1 and Desktop Client v0.1. When all three parts are at v0.1, we'd like to have a Full Project v0.1. Our problem is we're not sure how to manage all of this in the Hg repository. Would the best way to handle this be to create 3 separate repositories for the 3 stable versions and then 3 more repositories for the current developments? Currently we have this all in one repository. Should we do this in branches (are branches any different from cloning repositories?) and tags? Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • XML Catalog file failing to resolve

    - by newt
    I'm using an OASIS v 1.1 compatible resolver (Norm Walsh's XMLResolver in conjunction with the catalog below. However, I'm pretty sure I've made some sort of obvious error here (this is the first time I've needed to use v 1.1 features) since attempting to resolve OxChapML.dtd fails. • NSCollectionView subclass doesn't call drawRect during drag session despite setNeedsDisplay

    - by Alain Vitry
    Greetings, I am puzzled as to how and when drawRect is supposed to be called in a NSCollectionView subclass. I implement drag and drop operation in order to move NSCollectionViewItems within the collection, and would like to draw a visual indication of where the drop would end. The subclass does not call drawRect during the drag session. (It does during scroll) Is this the intended operation ? Any hint on how to implement this behavior properly are welcome. A full xcode project of the following code is available at: http://babouk.ovh.org/dload/MyCollectionView.zip Best regards Code sample: @interface CollectionViewAppDelegate : NSObject <NSApplicationDelegate> { NSWindow *window; NSMutableArray *collectionContent; } /* properties declaration */ /* KVC compliance declarations */ @end @interface MyCollectionView : NSCollectionView @end @interface ItemModel { NSString *name; } @property (copy) NSString *name; @end @implementation MyCollectionView - (void)drawRect:(NSRect)rect { NSLog(@"DrawRect"); } - (void)mouseDragged:(NSEvent *)aEvent { NSPoint localPoint = [self convertPoint:[aEvent locationInWindow] fromView:nil]; [self dragImage:[NSImage imageNamed:@"Move.png"] at:localPoint offset:NSZeroSize event:aEvent pasteboard:nil source:self slideBack:NO]; } - (BOOL)prepareForDragOperation:(id < NSDraggingInfo >)sender { return YES; } - (NSDragOperation)draggingEntered:(id <NSDraggingInfo>)sender { return NSDragOperationEvery; } - (NSDragOperation)draggingUpdated:(id <NSDraggingInfo>)sender { [self setNeedsDisplay:YES]; return NSDragOperationEvery; } - (NSDragOperation)draggingSourceOperationMaskForLocal:(BOOL)isLocal { return NSDragOperationEvery; } - (void)mouseDown:(NSEvent *)theEvent { } @end @implementation CollectionViewAppDelegate @synthesize window, collectionContent, collectionView; - (void)applicationDidFinishLaunching:(NSNotification *)aNotification { NSMutableArray *data = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init]; /* Fill in data */ [self setCollectionContent:data]; [data release]; } /* dealloc */ /* KVC implementation */ @end @implementation ItemModel @synthesize name; /* dealloc */ @end

  • iPhone: Memory leak when using NSOperationQueue...

    - by MacTouch
    Hi, I'm sitting here for at least half an hour to find a memory leak in my code. I just replaced an synchronous call to a (touch) method with an asynchronous one using NSOperationQueue. The Leak Inspector reports a memory leak after I did the change to the code. What's wrong with the version using NSOperationQueue? Version without a MemoryLeak -(NSData *)dataForKey:(NSString*)ressourceId_ { NSString *path = [self cachePathForKey:ressourceId_]; // returns an autoreleased NSString* NSString *cacheKey = [self cacheKeyForRessource:ressourceId_]; // returns an autoreleased NSString* NSData *data = [[self memoryCache] valueForKey:cacheKey]; if (!data) { data = [self loadData:path]; // returns an autoreleased NSData* if (data) { [[self memoryCache] setObject:data forKey:cacheKey]; } } [[self touch:path]; return data; } Version with a MemoryLeak (I do not see any) -(NSData *)dataForKey:(NSString*)ressourceId_ { NSString *path = [self cachePathForKey:ressourceId_]; // returns an autoreleased NSString* NSString *cacheKey = [self cacheKeyForRessource:ressourceId_]; // returns an autoreleased NSString* NSData *data = [[self memoryCache] valueForKey:cacheKey]; if (!data) { data = [self loadData:path]; // returns an autoreleased NSData* if (data) { [[self memoryCache] setObject:data forKey:cacheKey]; } } NSInvocationOperation *touchOp = [[NSInvocationOperation alloc] initWithTarget:self selector:@selector(touch:) object:path]; [[self operationQueue] addOperation:touchOp]; [touchOp release]; return data; } And of course, the touch method does nothing special too. Just change the date of the file. -(void)touch:(id)path_ { NSString *path = (NSString *)path_ NSFileManager *fm = [NSFileManager defaultManager]; if ([fm fileExistsAtPath:path]) { NSDictionary *attributes = [NSDictionary dictionaryWithObjectsAndKeys:[NSDate date], NSFileModificationDate, nil]; [fm setAttributes: attributes ofItemAtPath:path error:nil]; } }

  • JQuery - Slide Example

    - by gav
    Hi All, I want to perform a simple slide motion on an HTML element. JQuery is already available on the site in question so the next logical step for me was to look at their documentation. JQuery - Slide down When I check out their demo however, it doesn't seem to be functioning. In firebug they have an error; missing ) after argument list wyciwyg://0/http://docs.jquery.com/UI/Effects/Slide Line 18 Whilst the error seems simple, I can't work out how to correct it (On thier site by editing the JS). On my own site using the same example an error is found in the JQuery 1.4.2 script itself; jQuery.easing[specialEasing || defaultEasing] is not a function file:///home/gav/ee-workspaces/web/site/php/jquery-1.4.2.js Line 5854 I don't mean to sound lazy / rude but what's going on? Is the JQuery site and newest release actually broken, I doubt it, what am I doing wrong? I'm a CS grad with no real web dev experience so I'm not used to this method of debugging, where should I start with this? Thanks, Gav

  • UIImageView size becomes equal to the size of image it holds after autoresizing

    - by abura
    Hello, I faced a strange problem. My task is to provide scaling an image to fill the UIImageView frame. The UIImageView is a subview of another view. The code is following: CGRect frame=CGRectMake(0,0,viewSize.width,viewSize.height); UIView* backView=[[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:frame]; backView.autoresizesSubviews=YES; backView.autoresizingMask=UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleWidth; UIImageView* imgView=[[UIImageView alloc]initWithFrame:viewFrame]; imgView.autoresizingMask = UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleWidth | UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleHeight; imgView.contentMode=UIViewContentModeScaleToFill; [subcellBackView addSubview:imgView]; [imgView release]; When the image arrives, it is assigned the the imgView: imgView.image=img; The image is scaled according to the imgView's size. Everything is all right until the iPhone (simulator) rotation. After first autoresizing the imgView size becomes equal to the image size (which is much greater) and overlaps its superview frame. The superview frame reacts properly to the orientation change. Could you please help?

  • Fully-loaded UIViewController losing all it's data after adding to scroll view

    - by clozach
    Summary I'm repurposing Apple's Page Control project. In loadScrollViewWithPage:, the view controllers that I'm adding to the scroll view appear on screen without their initialized values, as if displayed directly from the nib. Specifics Here's the code that appears to be working when I step through it: CBFullScreenViewController *controller = [viewControllers objectAtIndex:page]; if ((NSNull *)controller == [NSNull null]) { controller = [[CBFullScreenViewController alloc] init]; // Populate the view from the corresponding CBImage object CBImage *imageObject = [imageArray objectAtIndex:page]; BOOL bookmarked = [imageObject.bookmarked boolValue]; controller.bookmarkButton.highlighted = bookmarked; NSString *subtitle = imageObject.subtitle; controller.closedSubtitleLabel.text = subtitle; // <-- snip...more initialization --> // controller.delegate = self; [viewControllers replaceObjectAtIndex:page withObject:controller]; [controller release]; } // add the controller's view to the scroll view if (nil == controller.view.superview) { CGRect frame = scrollView.frame; frame.origin.x = frame.size.width * page; frame.origin.y = 0; controller.view.frame = frame; [scrollView addSubview:controller.view];//<< controller and subviews } // all have non-null, seemingly // valid values at this point Here's the init method in CBFullScreenViewController: - (id)init { if ((self = [super initWithNibName:@"CBFullScreenViewController" bundle:nil])) { self.cover = [[UIImageView alloc] init]; self.homeButton = [[UIButton alloc] init]; self.tabView = [[UIButton alloc] init]; self.closedSubtitleLabel = [[UILabel alloc] init]; self.openSubtitleLabel = [[UILabel alloc] init]; // <-- snip...more initialization --> // } return self; } While troubleshooting this for the last 2 hours has helped me track down some unrelated memory leaks, I can't for the life of me figure out what's happening to the values I'm putting into my view! Oh, it's probably worth mentioning that I've got @synthesize for each of my outlets, and they're all hooked up in IB. Screenshot here.

  • Odd Infragistics UltraComboEditor data binding non-bug

    - by Richard Dunlap
    Within an Infragistics 8.2 UltraComboEditor, we had the following properties set via C#: DataSource = dataSource; ValueMember = "Measure"; DisplayMember = "Name"; DataBindings.Add("Value", repository, "Measure"); DataBindings["Value"].DataSourceUpdateMode = DataSourceUpdateMode.OnPropertyChanged; where dataSource was an array of objects, each with a property Measure, and repository was an object with a property Measure. (Those strings are actually constructor parameters -- just using explicit strings to simplify the example.) In the course of some refactoring, the name of the property on the objects in the array was changed to BaseEnum (the objects are actually wrapped enumerations, for the curious), but the name of ValueMember above was not changed. And yet, the combo box binding continued to work through initial testing, beta testing, and even after release... until two customers emailed in noting that the combo box was no longer changing the underlying parameter. We were able to dig out the problem by careful study of the source code repository... despite being in the awkward position of not being able to replicate the buggy behavior internally. Two part question: What's happening under the hood that allowed the binding to continue to function, and/or what might be unique about those two users that caused the binding to (correctly) fail? (O/S version isn't alone the answer, and we get the unexpectedly functioning binding on machines that have never had a version of the software before, so we're not looking at rogue binaries). Are there tools that might have been able to warn us about the misbind, even if something was cleaning up behind?

  • Android ndk-build command does nothing

    - by James
    I have a similar question to that posted here: Android NDK: why ndk-build doesn't generate .so file and a new libs folder in Eclipse? ...though I am running Windows 7, not Mac os. Essentially the ndk-build command is run, gives no error but doesn't create an .so file (also, since I'm on windows this should create a .dll and not an .so?). I tried running the command from the root, jni, src folders etc. but got the same result; cmd just returns to the prompter after a few seconds. I ran it again from the jni folder with NDK_LOG=1 parameter to see what was happening. • ASIHTTP: multi threads and multi UIPorgressView

    - by user262325
    Hello everyone I have a project to download multi files (fileurl). It display the each thread on a UITableView. In UITableView - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { NSInteger row=[indexPath row]; NSInteger section=[indexPath section]; //UITableViewCell *cell=[tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:@"any-cell"]; static NSString *SimpleTableIdentifier1 = @"SimpleTableIdentifier1"; UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier: SimpleTableIdentifier1]; if (cell == nil) { cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault reuseIdentifier: SimpleTableIdentifier1] autorelease]; } UIProgressView *aUIProgressView; aUIProgressView =[[UIProgressView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake( 10.9f,48.0f,300.0f,28.0f)]; [aUIProgressView setTag:row]; [aUIProgressView setProgress:0]; [cell addSubview:aUIProgressView]; [self startADownloadThread : [[downloadArray objectAtIndex:row] getURL] progressview:switchView ]; [aUIProgressView release]; [cell setText: [[downloadArray objectAtIndex:row] getURL]]; return cell; } It calls 'startADownloadThread' - (IBAction)startADownloadThread:(NSString *)fileurl progressview:(UIProgressView *)a { [a setProgress:0]; NSLog(@"Value: %f", [a progress]); [networkQueue cancelAllOperations]; [networkQueue setDownloadProgressDelegate:a]; [networkQueue setDelegate:self]; [networkQueue setRequestDidFinishSelector:@selector(requestDone:)]; [networkQueue setShowAccurateProgress:true]; NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:fileurl]; ASIHTTPRequest *request = [ASIHTTPRequest requestWithURL:url]; [request setDelegate:self]; [networkQueue addOperation:request]; [networkQueue go]; } I hope each aUIProgressView display the download progress of each download thread. The above source codes : Display the aUIProgressView list correctly, but only the last aUIProgressView link to a thread display the correct progress, others' value are 0 Welcome any comment Thanks interdev

  • Embed Youtube in UIWebView behind transparent img. Wmode transparent and z-index doesn't work

    - by Allisone
    I'm using this code: - (void)embedYouTube:(NSString *)urlString frame:(CGRect)frame { NSString *embedHTML = @"\ <html><head>\ <style type=\"text/css\">\ body {\ background-color: black;\ }\ #container{\ position: relative;\ z-index:1;\ }\ #video,#videoc{\ position:absolute;\ z-index: 1;\ border: none;\ }\ #tv{\ background: transparent url(tv.png) no-repeat;\ width: 320px;\ height: 205px;\ position: absolute;\ top: 0;\ z-index: 999;\ }\ </style>\ </head><body style=\"margin:0\">\ <div id=\"tv\"></div>\ <object id=\"videoc\" width=\"240\" height=\"160\">\ <param name=\"movie\" value=\"%@\"></param>\ <param name=\"wmode\" value=\"transparent\"></param>\ <embed wmode=\"transparent\" id=\"video\" src=\"%@\" type=\"application/x-shockwave-flash\" \ width=\"240\" height=\"160\"></embed>\ </object>\ </body></html>"; NSString *path = [[NSBundle mainBundle] bundlePath]; NSURL *baseURL = [NSURL fileURLWithPath:path]; NSString *html = [NSString stringWithFormat:embedHTML, urlString,urlString]; UIWebView *videoView = [[UIWebView alloc] initWithFrame:frame]; [videoView loadHTMLString:html baseURL:baseURL]; [self.view addSubview:videoView]; [videoView release]; } Its the first time that I use UIWebView and the first time that I use video in iPhone. The video plays, so that's working BUT: I want to have an old school tv (round corners) in foreground with switches and so on. The tv is an image with transparent pixels in the middle, so that a video lying behind the tv will shine through as if the video would be shown on the tv. But first of all the video has a border that I can't remove and second it's always in the foreground. In Safari and in Firefox and Mac it's working. So is it an iPhone thing, could it be that it simply won't work on iPhone ? Or do I have some css/html typos ?

  • Command /Developer/usr/bin/dsymutil failed with exit code 10

    - by Evan Robinson
    I am getting the above error message randomly (so far as I can tell) on iPhone projects. Occasionally it will go away upon either: Clean Restart XCode Reboot Reinstall XCode But sometimes it won't. When it won't the only solution I have found is to take all the source material, import it into a new project, and then redo all the connections in IB. Then I'm good until it strikes again. Anybody have any suggestions? [update 20091030] I have tried building both debug and release versions, both full and lite versions. I've also tried switching the debug symbols from DWARF with external dSYM file to DWARF and to stabs. Clean builds in all formats make no differences. Permission repairs change nothing. Setting up a new user has no effect. Same error on the builds. Thanks for the suggestions! [Update 20091031] Here's an easier and (apparently) reliable workaround. It hinges upon the discovery that the problem is linked to a target not a project In the same project file, create a new target Option-Drag (copy) all the files from the BAD target 'Copy Bundle Resources' folder to the NEW target 'Copy Bundle Resources' folder Repeat (2) with 'Compile Sources' and 'Link Binary With Libraries' Duplicate the Info.plist file for the BAD target and name it correctly for the NEW target. Build the NEW target! [Update 20100222] Apparently an IDE bug, now apparently fixed, although Apple does not allow direct access to the original bug of a duplicate. I can no longer reproduce this behaviour, so hopefully it is dead, dead, dead.

  • NSThread shared object issue

    - by Chris Beeson
    Hi, I'm getting an “EXC_BAD_ACCESS” but just can't work out why, any help would be massive - thank you in advance. The user takes a picture and I want to do some processing on it in another thread... - (void)imagePickerController:(UIImagePickerController *)picker didFinishPickingMediaWithInfo:(NSDictionary *)info { ... NSString *uid = [Asset stringWithUUID]; [_imageQueue setObject:img forKey:uid]; [NSThread detachNewThreadSelector:@selector(createAssetAsyncWithImage:) toTarget:self withObject:uid]; } Then the new thread -(void) createAssetAsyncWithImage:(NSString *)uid { NSAutoreleasePool * pool =[[NSAutoreleasePool alloc] init]; if ([_imageQueue objectForKey:uid]) { Asset *asset = [Asset createAssetWithImage:[_imageQueue objectForKey:uid]]; asset.uid = uid; [self performSelectorOnMainThread:@selector(asyncAssetCreated:) withObject:asset waitUntilDone:YES]; } [pool release]; } Which calls +(Asset *)createAssetWithImage:(UIImage *)img { .... UIImage *masterImg = [GraphicSupport createThumbnailFromImage:img pixels:img.size.height/2]; .... return newAsset; } And then this is where I keep getting the BAD_ACCESS +(UIImage *)createThumbnailFromImage:(UIImage *)inImage pixels:(float)pixels{ CGSize size = image.size; CGFloat ratio = 0; if (size.width > size.height) { ratio = pixels / size.width; } else { ratio = pixels / size.height; } CGRect rect = CGRectMake(0.0, 0.0, ratio * size.width, ratio * size.height); UIGraphicsBeginImageContext(rect.size); //NSAssert(image,@"image NULL"); [image drawInRect:rect]; return UIGraphicsGetImageFromCurrentImageContext(); } It's image that is giving me all the complaints... What am I doing wrong?? Many thanks in advance

  • Dismiss Popover using Unwind Segue in Xcode Storyboard

    - by AlexR
    I am using Xcode 4.5 and the new iOS 6 feature to unwind segues. I am presenting a navigation view controller inside a popover which is presented programmatically from a bar button item: - (IBAction)configChartTapped:(id)sender { if (self.popover.isPopoverVisible) { [self.popover dismissPopoverAnimated:YES]; } else { UINavigationController *chartConfigNavigationController = [self.storyboard instantiateViewControllerWithIdentifier:@"GrowthChartNavigationController"]; ConfigChartTypeViewController *configChartTypeViewController = (ConfigChartTypeViewController*) chartConfigNavigationController.topViewController; self.popover = [[UIPopoverController alloc]initWithContentViewController:chartConfigNavigationController]; self.popover.popoverContentSize = CGSizeMake(320, 500); self.popover.delegate = self; [self.popover presentPopoverFromBarButtonItem:sender permittedArrowDirections:UIPopoverArrowDirectionAny animated:YES]; } } Next to this method I have defined a target to unwind the segue (i.e. dismissing the popover)... - (IBAction)cancelConfig:(UIStoryboardSegue *)segue { // } ... and connected it to a cancel button in the navigation view controllers's navigation bar. Connecting the cancel bar button to the cancelConfig button worked fine in Xcode. However, when running the code, nothing happens when clicking on the Cancel button despite Xcode 4.5 should be supporting dismissing popovers when unwinding segues (according to the release docs). What did I miss? Thank you!

  • Ruby Shoes packager including Shoes in the app

    - by user206481
    I can't seem to get the Ruby Shoes packager to correctly create an exe with Shoes included. I'm using the Raisins release (0.r1134), with the pack.rb replaced from github. The exe's the packager makes are all 70-80K files (they obviously don't include shoes or ruby). These exe's will run on my XP machine that already has Shoes on it. but when I copy them to another laptop they start a "Shoes is downloading" dialog that does nothing and then goes away. I need to make standalone Windows exe's, and my understanding was that the "Yes, I want Shoes included" option in the packager would do that. Did I misunderstand the intent? Is there a way to make this work? Hope so, because I love Shoes. As most women do. Hmm... maybe Shoes was _why's attempt at getting more women into programming as well as kids...but I digress. The other threads I've found here imply this will work: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1390721/problem-in-ruby-shoes-packaging http://stackoverflow.com/questions/363218/shoes-packager-problem

  • IPhone SDK - Transition to NavigationController display problem

    - by Steblo
    Hi, I am nearly finished with my first IPhone app and everything works fine - except of one very little display bug: My starscreen is an UIView (Fullscreen) without Navigationbar or Toolbar. If I tap on a start button, there is an UIViewAnimationTransitionFlipFromRight animation that flips to the main navigation controller: -(IBAction) switchViewToMainMenu { [UIView beginAnimations:@"Flip View" context:nil]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:1.25]; [UIView setAnimationCurve:UIViewAnimationCurveEaseInOut]; [UIView setAnimationTransition: UIViewAnimationTransitionFlipFromRight forView:self.window cache:YES]; [self.navController viewWillAppear:YES]; [self.startScreenViewController viewWillDisappear:YES]; [self.startScreenViewController.view removeFromSuperview]; [self.window addSubview:navController.view]; [self.startScreenViewController viewDidDisappear:YES]; [self.navController viewDidAppear:YES]; [UIView commitAnimations]; self.startScreenViewController=nil; [startScreenViewController release]; } This works fine except of one little problem: When the navigation controller view appears (flips in), the Navigationbar on top is some pixels too high (the is a white bar where the Navigationbar should be). When the animation finished, the Navigationbar drops down to the right position. This doesn't look very beautiful... Any ideas how to fix that problem ?

  • Determine whether .NET assemblies were built from the same source

    - by Clayton
    Does anyone know of a way to compare two .NET assemblies to determine whether they were built from the "same" source files? I am aware that there are some differencing utilities available, such as the plugin for Reflector, but I am not interested in viewing differences in a GUI, I just want an automated way to compare a collection of binaries to see whether they were built from the same (or equivalent) source files. I understand that multiple different source files could produce the same IL, and realise that the process would only be sensitive to differences in the IL, not the original source. The main obstacle to just comparing the byte streams for the two assemblies is that .NET includes a field called "MVID" (Module Version Identifier) the assembly. This appears to have a different value for every compilation, so if you build the same code twice the assembly will be different. A related question is, does anyone know how to force the MVID to be the same for each compilation? This would avoid us needing to have a comparison process that is insensitive to differences in the value of the MVID. A consistent MVID would be preferable, as this means that standard checksums could be used. The background behind this is that a third-party company is responsible for independently reviewing and signing off our releases, prior to us being permitted to release to Production. This includes reviewing the source code. They want to independently confirm that the source code we give them matches the binaries that we earlier built, tested and currently plan to deploy. We are looking for a process that allows them to independently build the system from the source we supply them with, and the compare the checksums against the checksums for the binaries we have tested. thanks

  • UIWebView not loading URL

    - by jerincbus
    I'm having trouble getting a UIWebView to load a URL that I'm sending to it. Before I get into my code I was wondering if URL has to start with "http://" or can it start with "www."? I'm using an IBAction to push a UIView on to the stack: (IBAction)goToWebView { WebViewController *webController = [[WebViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"WebViewController" bundle:[NSBundle mainBundle]]; //set the strings webController.webTitle = [self Title]; webController.webURL = [self website]; //Push the new view on the stack [[self navigationController] pushViewController:webController animated:YES]; [webController release]; webController = nil; } Then here is my WebViewController.h file: @interface WebViewController : UIViewController { IBOutlet UIWebView *webView; NSString *webTitle; NSString *webURL; } @property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet UIWebView *webView; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSString *webTitle; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSString *webURL; here And my WebViewController.m file: - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; NSString *urlAddress = webURL; //Create a URL object. NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:urlAddress]; //URL Requst Object NSURLRequest *requestObj = [NSURLRequest requestWithURL:url]; //Load the request in the UIWebView. [webView loadRequest:requestObj]; }
