  • Scala wont pattern match with java.lang.String and Case Class

    Hello fellow Scala Programmers I have been working with Scala for some month now, however I have a problem with some properly basic stuff, I am hoping you will help my out with it. case class PersonClass(name: String, age: Int) object CaseTester { def main(args:Array[String]) { val string = "hej" string match { case e:String => println(string) case PersonClass => println(string) } } } When I am doing like this I get error: pattern type is incompatible with expected type; found : object PersonClass required: java.lang.String case PersonClass = println(string) And if I then change the second line in the pattern matching to the following: case e:PersonClass => println(string) I then get the error: error: scrutinee is incompatible with pattern type; found : PersonClass required: java.lang.String case e:PersonClass = println(string) However if I change the string definition to the following it compiles fine in both cases. val string:AnyRef = "hej"

    The following fails to compile (with gcc 4.2.1 on Linux, anyway): template< typename T > class Foo { public: typedef int FooType; }; void ordinary() { Foo< int >::FooType bar = 0; } template< typename T > void templated() { Foo< T >::FooType bar = T( 0 ); } int main( int argc, char **argv ) { return 0; } The problem is with this line: Foo< T >::FooType bar = 0; ...and the compiler makes this complaint: foo.c: In function ‘void templated()’: foo.c:22: error: expected `;' before ‘bar’ Normally one sees this when a type hasn't been declared, but as far as I can tell, Foo< T ::FooType should be perfectly valid inside templated().

Something like this: frmExample = New LookupForm(Of Models.MyClass) 'Works fine Dim SelectedType As Type = InstanceOfMyClass.GetType() 'Works fine frmExample = New LookupForm(Of SelectedType) 'Ba-bow! frmExample = New LookupForm(Of InstanceOfMyClass.GetType()) 'Ba-bow! LookupForm<Models.MyClass> frmExample; Type SelectedType = InstanceOfMyClass.GetType(); frmExample = new LookupForm<SelectedType.GetType()>(); //Ba-bow frmExample = new LookupForm<(Type)SelectedType>(); //Ba-bow I'm assuming it's something to do with the template being processed at compile time but even if I'm off the mark there, it wouldn't solve my problem anyway. I can't find any relevant information on using Reflection to instance template classes either. (How) can I create an instance of a dynamically typed repository at runtime?

  • Javascript onclick stops working, multiple dynamically created divs.

    I have run into a strange problem, i am creating a lot of dynamically divs. And i recently found out that some of my divs doesn't fire the onclick event? All the divs are created using the same template, so why are some not working? Most of the time, its the 4-5 from the bottom. If you click on one of the others and then try again, you might get one of those to trigger. But only sporadically. Code to create the divs: GameField.prototype.InitField = function(fieldNumber) { var newField = document.createElement("div"); if (fieldNumber == 0 || fieldNumber == 6 || fieldNumber == 8 || fieldNumber == 17) newField.className = 'gameCellSmall borderFull gameText gameTextAlign'; else newField.className = 'gameCellSmall borderWithoutTop gameText gameTextAlign'; var instance = this; if (fieldNumber == 6 || fieldNumber == 7 || fieldNumber == 17) { } else newField.onclick = function() { instance.DivClick(fieldNumber); return false; } this.fields[fieldNumber] = newField; this.score[fieldNumber] = 0; return newField; } I added the return false to the click function, but it still behaves strangely. Why are some not triggering? I create around 18 divs / player. But it happens even if i just create one player. Do i perhaps need to cancel the event once i am done with it? (Like the return false; is trying to do)

  • Initiate a PHP class where class name is a variable

    I need some help with an error I have not encountered before and can't seem to find anywhere. In a PHP mvc framework (just from a tutorial) I have the following: // Initiate the class $className = 'Controller_' . ucfirst($controller); if (class_exists($className)) { $controller = new $className($this->registry); } $className is showing the correct class name (case is also correct). But when I run it I get this in the apache error log (no php error) [Wed Mar 31 10:34:12 2010] [notice] child pid 987 exit signal Segmentation fault (11) Process id is different on every call. I am running PHP 5.3.0 on os x 10.6. This site seems to work on 5.2.11 on another Mac. Not really sure where to go next to debug it. I guess it could be an apache setting as much as a php bug or a problem with the code... any suggestions on where to look next?

    Hi, I'm just starting out in learning Ruby and I've written a program that generates some numbers and assigns them to variables @one, @two, @three etc. The user can then specify a variable to change by inputting it's name (e.g one). I then need to do something like '@[valueofinout] = asd'. How would I do this, and is there a better way as the way I'm thinking of seems to be discouraged? I've found x = "myvar" myvar = "hi" eval(x) -> "hi" but I don't completely understand why the second line is needed. In my case would I use something like @one = "21" input = "one" input = "@" + input changeto = "22" eval(input) -> changeto Thanks

  • Handling array passed to object at creation

    When creating my object I pass it an array of a row from my database. (everything in the array we will need, disregarding unnecessary elements at sql query level) When I need to access certain array elements from within my class, I do so like $this->row['element'] However, As I continue development, I sometimes forget what exactly is in this passed array.(this itself doesn't seem good) I am wondering if their is a professional approach to dealing with this, Or am I the only one who has these "I wonder whats in the array" thoughts. One approach to tackling this could be that when we originally pass the array, in the constructor, we assign each element of the array to its own variable, but is this considered professional practice? Additionally by doing this, we could make those variables constants, in a attempt at immutability. Overall I am trying to adhere to good software craftsmanship. Regards.

    I'm getting "could not find class" error when I run my app. Understand that copulation and execution path different but I followed the recommendations of another question to create a sub dir under my project of lib and put the jar there but still no luck. using Eclipse and it is when I run on a device from eclipse (unable to get the broadcast events I want to trigger this code from simulator, i.e. wifi and blue-tooth). Any way to look at the apk to see what's in it like this jar file? looking around did not see anything.

I have a Qt GUI application (written by me), let's call it QtAPP.exe When QtAPP.exe running, I will use a QThread and QProcess to execute some external file, such as player.exe (written in native C). Here's my question: In QtAPP.exe, there are 2 classes, 1. QMainWindow - Core of QtAPP.exe 2. QThread - A thread class to execute external things For now, if I got a finished() signal in that QThread, how do I to force the QMainWindow to repaint itself ?     Can you have a parent class shared pointer return type of a function and then return a new child class without it being a shared pointer? I'm not sure how shared pointers work in these situations, do they act like a regular pointer? Here is my example: BaseEventPtr Actions::getEvent(const std::string& nodeName) { if(asLowerCaseString(nodeName) == "action") return new ActionEvent(&m_interface); return nullptr; } ActionEvent is the subclass of BaseEvent in this situation.     from my understanding, require pastes code into the calling php file. what if you were requiring from inside a method...it would paste the entire code/class inside the method, blocking the next statement in the method. eg. function test() { require 'pathtosomeclasscode'; somestatement; // any code after the require is blocked. } how do i get around this, to be able to require code where-ever, without it being pasted in that exact spot?
