  • How to cross-reference many character encodings with ASCII OR UTFx?

    I'm working with a binary structure, the goal of which is to index the significance of specific bits for any character encoding so that we may trigger events while doing specific checks against the profile. Each character encoding scheme has an associated system record. This record's leading value will be a C++ unsigned long long binary value and signifies the length, in bits, of encoded characters. Following the length are three values, each is a bit field of that length. offset_mask - defines the occurrence of non-printable characters within the min,max of print_mask range_mask - defines the occurrence of the most popular 50% of printable characters print_mask - defines the occurrence value of printable characters The structure of profiles has changed from the op of this question. Most likely I will try to factorize or compress these values in the long-term instead of starting out with ranges after reading more. I have to write some of the core functionality for these main reasons. It has to fit into a particular event architecture we are using, Better understanding of character encoding. I'm about to need it. Integrating into non-linear design is excluding many libraries without special hooks. I'm unsure if there is a standard, cross-encoding mechanism for communicating such data already. I'm just starting to look into how chardet might do profiling as suggested by @amon. The Unicode BOM would be easily enough (for my current project) if all encodings were Unicode. Of course ideally, one would like to support all encodings, but I'm not asking about implementation - only the general case. How can these profiles be efficiently populated, to produce a set of bitmasks which we can use to match strings with common characters in multiple languages? If you have any editing suggestions please feel free, I am a lightweight when it comes to localization, which is why I'm trying to reach out to the more experienced. Any caveats you may be able to help with will be appreciated.

    I'm building a mobile version for my website using Jquery Mobile API. The framework provides automate AJAX navigation processing. But as far as i know it require "real" pages for loading purpose. What i want to do is override the automate navigation process of it and process the hashchange on my own. But i can't not rewrite the url using window.hashChange, which is running well on my non-mobile website version : $(function () { $(window).off().hashchange(function () { if (location.hash.length > 1) { PageSelect(); } }); $(window).hashchange(); }); I just only want to take advantage on jquery mobile interfaces, i don't want anything with its automate ajax navigation stuff !   • 'Content' is NOT 'Text' in XAML

    One of the key concepts in XAML is that the Content property of a XAML control like a Button or ComboBoxItem does not have to contain just textual data. In fact, Content can be almost any other XAML that you want. To illustrate here is a simple example of how to spruce up your Button controls in Silverlight. Here is some very simple XAML that consists of two Button controls within a StackPanel on a Silverlight User Control. <StackPanel>  <Button Name="btnHome"          HorizontalAlignment="Left"          Content="Home" />  <Button Name="btnLog"          HorizontalAlignment="Left"          Content="Logs" /></StackPanel> The XAML listed above will produce a Silverlight control within a Browser that looks like Figure 1.   Figure 1: Normal button controls are quite boring. With just a little bit of refactoring to move the button attributes into Styles, we can make the buttons look a little better. I am a big believer in Styles, so I typically create a Resources section within my user control where I can factor out the common attribute settings for a particular set of controls. Here is a Resources section that I added to my Silverlight user control. <UserControl.Resources>  <Style TargetType="Button"         x:Key="NormalButton">    <Setter Property="HorizontalAlignment"            Value="Left" />    <Setter Property="MinWidth"            Value="50" />    <Setter Property="Margin"            Value="10" />  </Style></UserControl.Resources> Now back in the XAML within the Grid control I update the Button controls to use the Style attribute and have each button use the Static Resource called NormalButton. <StackPanel>  <Button Name="btnHome"          Style="{StaticResource NormalButton}"          Content="Home" />  <Button Name="btnLog"          Style="{StaticResource NormalButton}"          Content="Logs" /></StackPanel> With the additional attributes set in the Resources section on the Button, the above XAML will now display the two buttons as shown in Figure 2. Figure 2: Use Resources to Make Buttons More Consistent Now let’s re-design these buttons even more. Instead of using words for each button, let’s replace the Content property to use a picture. As they say… a picture is worth a thousand words, so let’s take advantage of that. Modify each of the Button controls and eliminate the Content attribute and instead, insert an <Image> control with the <Button> and the </Button> tags. Summary While this is a simple example, you can see how XAML Content has great flexibility. You could add a MediaElement control as the content of a Button and play a video within the Button. Not that you would necessarily do this, but it does work. What is nice about adding different content within the Button control is you still get the Click event and other attributes of a button, but it does necessarily look like a normal button.     I've done some spin buttons with Glade for my Python/GTK3 app, but I don't know how to set things like default, lower or higher value. How can I do it? Using the following things for development: Python 2.7.3 GTK 3 Glade 3.12.1 1) I need to change things from script, as I need to set default value and maximum value as a variable; 2) I saw the PyGTK documentation before, it's not working for GTK3; 3) please don't direct me to the GTK3 docummentation... I can't understand it :P

    I've been trying to solve this problem since a few days now without any success. What I'm trying is to make a backup of a virtual machine running Windows Server 2003 SP 2 using VMware Data Recovery 2.0.0.1861. My problem is that if I make double Tap on ground then it’s fine but if I make first Tap on ground and second Tap in Air then Player gain more height then usual As in image 1. I want to Make my jump like in Image 2, No matter from which point user gives second Tap, player Always get a specific height. I Used both Impulse and Linear velocity to make Jump but my problem did not solved.

  • WoW lua: Getting quest attributes before the QUEST_DETAIL event

    I'd like to determine the attributes of a quest (i.e., information provided by functions such as QuestIsDaily and IsQuestCompletable) before the player clicks on the quest detail. I'm trying to write an add-on that handles accepting and completing of daily quests with a single click on the NPC, but I'm running into a problem whereby I can't find out anything about a given quest unless the quest text is currently being displayed, defeating the purpose of the add-on. Other add-ons of this nature seem to be getting around this limitation by hard-coding information about quests, an approach I don't much like as it requires constant maintenance. It seems to me that this information must be available somehow, as the game itself can properly figure out which icon to display over the head of the NPC without player interaction. The only question is, are add-on authors allowed access to this information? If so, how?   • Blinking power button

    A friend asked me to look at his Gateway DX4640 desktop. When he presses the power button, power goes to the mobo (NVIDIA nForce 630i MCP73PV, GeForce 7100 chipset) and the CPU fan starts spinning. The power button slowely blinks on and off (blue) and the screen briefly says no signal and then goes black. And nothing else; no post code beeps. My initial two conjectures were: 1. Vista was stuck in sleep/hibernation mode, or 2. A power off had left the mobo in a bad state. The fix for both is to: a) Unplug the AC power cord b) hold the power button for 30 second to fully discharge the mobo It didn't help. I left the system unplugged from AC power for an hour. No change. I am out of ideas. Has anybody seen anything like this before? What does a blinking blue power button mean? How can I get more data points to guide trouble shooting? --Thank you, --Mike

  • Button postion not changing in View Controller. (Xcode)

    I have a View controller in xcode 6 (beta 5). I have put 4 buttons in it through the Object library in a .xib. But when i open the app in iOS simulator the buttons are the right y position but not correct x-position()they are on the right edge. No matter where i move them in the xib they only change y-position. I even moved them using the size inspector, but to no avail. How can i actually move them?

When rebooted we get the following message: Event Type: Error Event Source: EventLog Event Category: None Event ID: 6008 Date: 16/02/2011 Time: 09:10:43 User: N/A Computer: WELPLAN-1 Description: The previous system shutdown at 07:27:32 on 16/02/2011 was unexpected. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp. Data: 0000: db 07 02 00 03 00 10 00 Û....... 0008: 07 00 1b 00 20 00 42 02 .... .B. 0010: db 07 02 00 03 00 10 00 Û....... 0018: 07 00 1b 00 20 00 42 02 .... .B. Obviously this message doesn't help much, but what does all the hexadecimal mean? Will it help me track down the problem? Any pointers as to where to look?

  • ReSharper C# Live Template for Dependency Property and Property Change Routed Event Boilerplate Code

    I don't know about you but it took me about 5 seconds to get royally fed up of typing the boilerplate code necessary for creating WPF (and Silverlight) dependency properties and, if you want them, their associated property change routed events. Being a ReSharper user, I wondered if there was any live template for doing this.   • All day optimizer event....

    I've recently taken over some of the responsibilities of Maria Colgan (also known as the "optimizer lady") so she can move onto supporting our new In Memory Database features (note her new twitter handle for that: https://twitter.com/db_inmemory ).To that end, I have two one day Optimizer classes scheduled this year (and more to follow next year!).  The first one will be Wednesday November 20th in Northern California.  You can find details for that here: http://www.nocoug.org/ .The next one will be 5,500 miles (about 8,800 km) away in the UK - in Manchester.  That'll take place immediately following the UKOUG technical conference taking place the first week of December on December 5th.  You can see all of the details for that here: http://www.ukoug.org/events/tom-kyte-seminar-2013/I know I'll be doing one in Belgrade early next year, probably the first week in April.
