• Using AJAX to display error message Ruby on Rails

  I have built a blog using Ruby on Rails. New to both. I am implementing AJAX pretty effectively until I get to the error handling portion. I allow for comments on posts and do this by rendering a comment partial and remote form in the /views/posts/show.html.erb page. Upon successful save of a comment the show page is updated using views/comments/create.js.rjs and displays a flash notice. I am simply trying to flash a notice when it doesn't save. Searched around and worked this a bit on my own. Can't get it to fly.   Active-active  (also called Master-Master or Bi-Directional) replication captures data changes from two or more systems and replicat the changes to synchronize the data.  Active-Active replication is often needed for high availability, load balancing and scaling out purposes.   Oracle GoldenGate is known to be one of the first and the best replication tool handling active-active replications. As of Oracle GoldenGate 12c, it provides (Refer to Oracle GoldenGate 12.1.2 Documentation - Configuring Oracle GoldenGate for Active-Active High Availability for more information) the followings: Robust loop-back prevention Comprehensive conflict resolution and detection support Heterogeneous support across different database versions and operation systems.  Oracle GoldenGate supports active-active configurations for DB2 on z/OS, LUW, and IBM i, MySQL, Oracle, SQL/MX,SQL Server, Sybase, and Teradata. • Upload images problem: IO error. (Error #2038)

  I'm using script which is uploading files to server via flash component. Sometimes, very rarely, when trying to upload images via Firefox I get following error: IO error #2038. Searching on the net I could find reason why is it really happening to me. But I found solution for my case: I open IE6, do the same thing there (photos are always uploaded without problem) and the when I try again in Firefox problem disappears. If someone had similar problems maybe this could help or maybe this hint could help to someone discovering cause of the problem :)

• MySQL full text search with partial words

  MySQL Full Text searching appears to be great and the best way to search in SQL. However, I seem to be stuck on the fact that it won't search partial words. For instance if I have an article titled "MySQL Tutorial" and search for "MySQL", it won't find it. Having done some searching I found various references to support for this coming in MySQL 4 (i'm using 5.1.40). I've tried using "MySQL" and "%MySQL%", but neither works (one link I found suggested it was stars but you could only do it at the end or the beginning not both). Here's my table structure and my query, if someone could tell me where i'm going wrong that would be great. I'm assuming partial word matching is built in somehow. • PHP zip->open returns error code 5 (Read Error)

  We had a site running, that uses the php zip functionality. Everyhthing worked fine for month - now we moved to a new server and the script doesn't work! $zip-open() returns error Code 5 what is a read error. I found out, that it has to do with the size of the zip files, as they are about 60mb. Smaller sizes about 30mb are working. What could be the reason for that? I didn't find any configuration possiblility about the size of zip files! Thanks, Manu

  hi, its been a couple of days that I'm trying to install mysql on my vps which has debian 5.0 with 256mb ram. I've installed webmin also. here is the symptoms : after installing mysql using either webmin or apt-get I am trying to connect to mysql for changing root password but every time I cope with this error : ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES) so I start to investigate and I understand there is no root user inside mysql database when I use : UPDATE user SET password=PASSWORD('newpassword') WHERE user="root"; it says 0 row affected I reinstall mysql for several times but the same problem still exits. please help me how can I install mysql-server as well as mysql-client correctly. regards.

• Installing Exchange 2010 Error with Ipv6 disabled/enabled

  I've tried installing Exchange 2010 on Windows 2k8 R2. Following error occurred when installing Hub Transport Role. Hub Transport Role Failed Error: The following error was generated when "$error.Clear(); install-ExsetdataAtom -AtomName SharedMachineSettings -DomainController $RoleDomainController" was run: "An error occurred with error code '2147950640' and message 'There is no such object on the server.'.". An error occurred with error code '2147950640' and message 'There is no such object on the server.' I have tried installation with both IPV6 turned on and off. Both failed and both required me to do some magic to uninstall Exchange, and try installation again. Feel free to shoot your ideas what can be done to resolve the error. In the end I will install HyperV and put Exchange 2010 on different server but that's not what the server owner wanted.

  I have been playing with glusterfs recently. What I want to try is to run mysqld on top of the glusterfs in a similar way as it is possible to run MySQL on top of DRBD. I am familiar with MySQL replication and the advantages of using that instead of this approach and I am also aware of MongoDB and other NoSQL solutions. However, it would be an easy solution to a few specific projects I have coming up if I could leave MySQL as it is and replicate the underlying file system. Is this possible and if it is where can I find out how?

I'm using a MySql database, now how can I use the SchemaExport function in hibernate to create the tables? My application can't create the table automatically, though i have set <prop key="hbm2ddl.auto">create</prop>. • How to combine two rows and calculate the time difference between two timestamp values in MySQL?

  I have a situation that I'm sure is quite common and it's really bothering me that I can't figure out how to do it or what to search for to find a relevant example/solution. I'm relatively new to MySQL (have been using MSSQL and PostgreSQL earlier) and every approach I can think of is blocked by some feature lacking in MySQL. I have a "log" table that simply lists many different events with their timestamp (stored as datetime type). There's lots of data and columns in the table not relevant to this problem, so lets say we have a simple table like this: CREATE TABLE log ( id INT NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, name VARCHAR(16), ts DATETIME NOT NULL, eventtype VARCHAR(25), PRIMARY KEY (id) ) Let's say that some rows have an eventtype = 'start' and others have an eventtype = 'stop'. What I want to do is to somehow couple each "startrow" with each "stoprow" and find the time difference between the two (and then sum the durations per each name, but that's not where the problem lies). Each "start" event should have a corresponding "stop" event occuring at some stage later then the "start" event, but because of problems/bugs/crashed with the data collector it could be that some are missing. In that case I would like to disregard the event without a "partner". That means that given the data: foo, 2010-06-10 19:45, start foo, 2010-06-10 19:47, start foo, 2010-06-10 20:13, stop ..I would like to just disregard the 19:45 start event and not just get two result rows both using the 20:13 stop event as the stop time. I've tried to join the table with itself in different ways, but the key problems for me seems to be to find a way to correctly identify the corresponding "stop" event to the "start" event for the given "name". The problem is exactly the same as you would have if you had table with employees stamping in and out of work and wanted to find out how much they actually were at work. I'm sure there must be well known solutions to this, but I can't seem to find them...

• Flashing task bar(firefox) in lxde panel and ubuntu internal error

  I have upgraded from ubuntu10.04 to 12.04 and installed lxde. The panel is now customized according to my convenience. The problem is there was a default checked option for "Flash when there is any window requiring attention" in Task bar(window list) and now when I run firefox, at times the concerned bar in the panel window list starts flashing but it is not clear exactly why at that moment firefox requires my attention. Normally this happens after I download some files (pdf files) and keep using firefox. The only solution I have found is to quit firefox and even after that I receive this message "Sorry, ubuntu12.04 has experienced an internal error. If you notice further problems, try restarting the computer." As usual I report the detailed message to ubuntu as suggested and finally restart the computer. So there are two problems, first, exactly why firefox needs my attention at times and second, why immediately after this, ubuntu experiences an internal error. Please suggest what I should do.

• How can IIS 7.5 have the error pages for a site reset to the default configuration?

  A mishap occurred with web.config to accommodate a subsite existing. I made use of “<location path="." inheritInChildApplications="false">”. Essentially it was a workaround put in place for nested web.config files which was causing a conflict. The result was that error pages were not being handled properly. Error 500 was being passed to the client for every type of error encountered. Removal of the offending inheritInChildApplications tag from the root web.config restored normal operations of most of the error handling, but for some reason error 503 is a correct response header, but the IIS server is performing the custom actions for error 403.4 which is a redirect to https. I'm looking to restore defaults for error pages so that the behavior once again is restored. I then can re-add customizations for the error pages.

• MySQL Continuosuly crahsing

  I am continuously receiving below error in event viewer... from which it stop mysql service... This is the following error, Faulting application mysqld-nt.exe, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module mysqld-nt.exe, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x0022401c. When I checked MySQL error log file, there is no ERROR or WARNING message regarding crash, it is showing normal shutdown. Can any help me out of this.
