  I am new to shifting bits, but I am trying to debug the following snippet: if (!(strcmp(arr[i].GetValType(), "f64"))) { dem_content_buff[BytFldPos] = tmp_data; dem_content_buff[BytFldPos + 1] = tmp_data >> 8; dem_content_buff[BytFldPos + 2] = tmp_data >> 16; dem_content_buff[BytFldPos + 3] = tmp_data >> 24; dem_content_buff[BytFldPos + 4] = tmp_data >> 32; dem_content_buff[BytFldPos + 5] = tmp_data >> 40; dem_content_buff[BytFldPos + 6] = tmp_data >> 48; dem_content_buff[BytFldPos + 7] = tmp_data >> 56; } I am getting a warning saying the lines with "32" to "56" have a shift count that is too large. The "f64" in the predicate just means that the data should be 64bit data. How should this be done?

• How do I access a DIV from javascript, if ASP.NET mangles its ID?

  I have a web page that contains a "div" element. On the page, there is javascript to reference the div: document.getElementById('divId'). This was working fine until another developer redesigned the page to use an ASP master page. Now, document.getElementById('divId') returns null. It appears that ASP.net prepends some characters to the names of elements within contents forms when you use a master page. How can I know what the id of the div is when the page loads? Update Allow me to give a specific example to clarify the question: My page had a div with ID divNotice. After changing my page to use a master page, I see when I print the source to the page that renders that the div ID is ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_divNotice. My question is, how am I supposed to know what the div ID is going to be when the framework is done with it?

  How would i set the output of a custom php function to a variable? I need it to be a variable so I can use it in css like: #boxone1 { height: 150px; width: 150px; background: <?=$RandomColor1?>; float: left; } If its not possible to set it as a variable, how else could i put the output of the function into css?

My job and personal experience covers many project-specific Swing client frameworks as well as the Eclipse RCP, and every one of them had some original and clever concepts, but also drawbacks and rigid realizations. My plan is to incorporate the best of those concepts and features into a new framework whose core is very open and extendable. For my must-have-features list, I'm counting on your input and hope you can share some concept pearls & diamonds you've encountered in other frameworks, or features you always wanted to have or have in a better way.   I need to bone up on my CLR compiling knowledge, so i'm going to speak in generalities... Appologies if I'm not being specific enough. I'm working on an application that references a COM Library dll which has a number of dlls rolled into it. My question is, is it possible using Reflection to get a reference to the sub dll's assembly, namely to obtain the version number? Or, if this question makes no sense, i'll try to rephrase.   Hello, Given I don't know if the parameter will be null or not and I want to use it in the following way: if Param != null then compare with its id if Param == null then compare with null. Something like that: var c = from cat in context.Categories where ParamCat != null && cat.ParentId == ParamCat.Id || ParamCat == null && cat.ParentId == null select c; If ParamCat is null as soon as I try to get something from c (for example c.Count()) it throws the exception. Usually when we use some kind of condition it stop comparison as soon as condition fail especially if we use AND. For example this code will not cause any exception: if (ParamCat != null && cat.ParentId == RaramCat.Id) { } If so, why the linq code above throw exception? (Null reference) Thanks

• How does one refer to the game1 class's variables in XNA

  I try to refer to an array in the Game1 class by creating an object of the Game1 class with its definition Game1 gameObject; , its declaration gameObject = new Game1(); in the constructor, and its usage gameObject.tileArray[xInt, yInt].treed = true;. The game1 class itself remains unchanged in its class code other than some methods and variables. When I try to use this code in the TreeRegion class it gives me "Object reference not set to an instance of an object," leading me to believe that the game1 class is null somehow. How might one change the class or object in order to refer to game1's variables? Mind you I am self-taught and still rather new to C#. • Transparent Dialog Alignment

  I'm trying to get a custom dialog with a transparent background doing this way: this.getWindow().setBackgroundDrawableResource(R.drawable.transparent); (where "R.drawable.transparent" is a reference to the color "#00000000") The weird issue on this is that I can't align my dialog window. It's always aligned to the left, even if I implicit set the Gravity of the window using: this.getWindow().setGravity(Gravity.CENTER); And if I just comment the line which set the transparent background, the alignment works fine. • Upgrade to 4.0 Framework, then downgraded, now can't find Linq namespace?

  I just upgraded from VS2008 to VS2010. In the process, I allowed it to upgrade my DLL's to 4.0. I've decided that wasn't a good idea and now I've rolled back. It all works fine in VS2010, but when it hits my CI server (CruiseControl.Net), I get an error of: The type or namespace name 'Linq' does not exist in the namespace 'System' (are you missing an assembly reference? 3.5 is on the server, and other projects that use 3.5 build fine, so I don't think it's a framework issue. Anyone have any hints?

  I reference this file "kbdext.c" and its headerfile listed on http://www.docdroppers.org/wiki/index.php?title=Writing_Keyloggers (the listings are at the bottom). I've been trying to compile this into a dll for use in Python or Visual Basic, but have not succeeded. I'm not familiar with C or GCC to sort out the problems or do the dll compile correctly. (I also get an error about snprintf not being declared when doing a regular compile of all the files). What are the steps I should do to make all functions available for other languages and external apps? Or is it perhaps easier to use SWIG and make a python module, instead of compiling a DLL?

  I have reduced my problem to finding the minimal spanning tree in the graph. But I want to have one more constraint which is that the total degree for each vertex shouldnt exceed a certain constant factor. How do I model my problem? Is MST the wrong path? Do you know any algorithms that will help me? One more problem: My graph has duplicate edge weights so is there a way to count the number of unique MSTs? Are there algorithms that do this? Thank You. Edit: By degree, I mean the total number of edges connecting the vertex. By duplicate edge weight I mean that two edges have the same weight.

I've created the service and now I'm trying to call it from a asp.net (vb) web site and I've tried adding a web reference to it and using the scvutil.exe to consume the service. So far neither have worked. It's not letting me declare the service in my code. If someone could point me to a good tutorial on how to consume a WCF service in an ASP.Net web site that would be great. I've found numorous on how to use them with AJAX or silverlight or windows apps but nothing on using it in just a plain old website.

• problem reading a csv file in python

  Hi, I am trying to read a very simple but somehow large(800Mb) csv file using the csv library in python. The delimiter is a single tab and each line consists of some numbers. Each line is a record, and I have 20681 rows in my file. I had some problems during my calculations using this file,it always stops at a certain row. I got suspicious about the number of rows in the file.I used the code below to count the number of row in this file: tfdf_Reader = csv.reader(open('v2-host_tfdf_en.txt'),delimiter=' ') c = 0 for row in tfdf_Reader: c = c + 1 print c To my surprise c is printed with the value of 61722!!! Why is this happening? What am I doing wrong?

• Would like help with LOGON Trigger

  I've created a logon trigger in MS SQL that needs to check dm_exec_sessions for a login. This login is the user listed in the connection string and has owner right to the database. If the login is verified, I need it to update a specific table and send an email. So far I've done just the following piece and it disabled my web site. The error I get is: "Logon failed for login 'dev' due to trigger execution. Changed database context to 'mydatabase'. Changed language setting to us_english." Any idea what I did wrong? • C# - Making fields/properties read only conditionally

  I have three classes; Classes A and B both reference class C. How can I make it so members of class C can be modified when referenced from class A but not modified when referenced from class B? IE, the following should be possible; classA myClassA = new classA(); myClassA.myClassC.IssueNumber = 3; But this should not be possible; classB myClassB = new classB(); myClassB.myClassC.IssueNumber = 3; Making classB.classC read-only still allows properties of classC to be altered.
