• How do I use a contact's photo in a table view cell?

  I've got an app that has a table view that displays contact information in each row. I'd like to use the contact's stored image (if there is one available) as the image on the left-hand side of the cell. I've found some sketchy sample code in Apple's documentation, but the address book references some kind of weird data type (CFDataRef) that doesn't appear to correspond to the data types referenced in the table view programming guide (mainly UIImage). This seems like a pretty basic task, but I can't seem to wrap my head around it. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

• why is link generated in YUI javascript failing to render in rails?

  Using YAHOO.widget.treeview to generate a table with three levels of data: module, submodule, and detail. If there is an image associated with a detail row the javascript generates a link: "<td><a href=\"/screenshot/show/" + rowData.id + "\">Screenshot</a></td>" that is appended to the html for the row. The url is generated correctly and the link appears. When clicked nothing happens except the word 'Done' appears in the browser status bar. Am calling the very same url from another page that does not use javascript and the screenshot page appears as expected. • Flex: Load images and swf's dynamically

  I'm building a slide-show like application in Flex and I'm trying to load images dynamically. The images are in a folder outside the application folder. This is the folder structure: /Bildvisare-debug/ Bildvisare.html Bildvisare.swf /Images/ 01_02_01_01_B.jpg 01_02_01_01_T.JPG I'm reading the image names from an XML file and get them with a path of ../Images/01_03_01_01_B.jpg. In my mxml-file I've got an SWFLoader named picture and I try to load the images with the following code: this.picture.source = images[currentImg]; //E.g. ../Images/01_03_01_01_B.jpg this.picture.load(); The problem is that the images never show up, I only get the icon for a missing image. Can anyone help?

• Attach an HREF and a class to an img link generated by the PhotoSlider script?

  Hi folks, I'm using the very nice PhotoSlider script from http://opiefoto.com/articles/photoslider to create a slide show of images for one of my clients. This script replaces a previous hand-coded Javascript solution that allowed for the large image to be clicked resulting in a lightbox modal popup showing the full-size version of the clicked picture. Of course the client insists that this functionality remain intact, but the HTML code for the large image is generated on-the-fly by the PhotoSlider script itself. This means I'll need to modify the script slightly to attach a class ("lightbox") and an href (or just a click event, whichever makes more sense), but I'm not quite sure how best to accomplish this. I figure the event and class will have to be attached each time a thumbnail is clicked, but if this isn't the best way to do it any advice will be appreciated. The script is implemented into my page as can be seen here, without the click or class. I'd really appreciate any assistance stackoverflowites can offer. Thanks in advance!

• How to float span properly

  I am developing this site http://indigonightlife.com/ The second section down is This Weeks Events. To the right of that heading is an image of the 5 little blue lines. The problem Im having is I cant get it to float to the right side of the container. As it is now, its in the middle of the container. Ive tried all kinds of combos of floats, clearfixes, and such but I cant get it to stay to the right. The section below titled Resident and Guest DJs has the same image but its floated fine. Not sure what the difference is. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

• Adding on touch event to images inside gridview

  I have a gridview where each item has a image and a textview (an app), i added the onItemClick to the gridview in order to launch the app, i also removed the orange selection and made selector in xml so when pressed the text would change to grey and on release it would return to white. My problem is that i need the image to apply an alpha value when pressed and restore the previous alpha on release i tested a lot of ways and none did worked correctly. I came close with the updated answer from the autor of the question: How to set alpha value for drawable in a StateListDrawable?, but some how the state pressed never gets called, i don´t know if this is because i am using the onitemClick to launch the app or not. Also i since i can´t define the alpha on imageview xml i don´t know what else to do Any help will be appreciated

I simply need to create a sequence of strings, image1.jpg, image2.jpg, etc etc ie in a loop var imgString:String='image'+i+'.jpg; I assume a best practice is to use a NSMutableString with appendString method? What am I doing wrong??   I've got an unusual build error when using Buildroot to create an image for my Phidget SBC. It's unusual because it occurs ONLY on my development laptop and NOT on my general use laptop even though I am using EXACTLY the same Builroot environment as published by Phidgets themselves.   Hello, i'm having a bit of a question, I have some newspost from my database. But there are tags in it and some tags aswell. My questiion is how i should go about it to get the newspost showing as it should be. The images should get shown instead of the tags etc. I know i'll have to work with a loader to use the images but how would as3 recognize them? Is there anyway i could use htmltext or something so as3 knows automaticly where the imagetags are? Also, if i add the image would it be possible to wrap the text around it? So i dont have an empty space next to the image?

  I've got some old Intel printer (Etherexpress XL ) print servers and they seem to be running an Intel OS called Cos aka Intel Client Os i86 I've found out that much just looking in the update files from Intel. It was at least partly written in C. How do I make a custom software image Intel Cos's boot loader will understand ? I know a host PC xmodem's the image to the client device, and I was wondering if anyone had already either reverse-engineered this or had original info ? or is my only recousre to reverse engineer the update file format ?

I want to replace the path part of the source path with a c# constant for easier path management, for example I have: <Image Source="/Images/Themes/Buttons/MyPicture.png" /> and in another class I have my constant defined: public static readonly string UriImagesButtons = "/Images/Big/PNG/"; I want to have something along the lines of: <Image Source="{static:UriImagesButtons + MyPicture.png}" /> This means that I can change the path globally at a stroke if the need arises. What's the syntax to do this?

  I have an iOS application that I want to animate a falling leaf (or several). I have my leaf image in an ImageView and I've figured out a simple animation from the documentation: [UIView animateWithDuration:4.0f delay:0 options:UIViewAnimationTransitionFlipFromLeft animations:^(void) { leaf1ImageView.frame = CGRectMake(320, 480, leaf1ImageView.frame.size.width,leaf1ImageView.frame.size.height); } completion:NULL]; This will make the leaf go from its starting position to the bottom right corner in a straight line. How would I animate this to follow a path or curve like a parabola or sinusoid and maybe even rotate the image or view? Would this be done in the animations block? Thanks in advance!

• How do you detect an area that can be filled in in a bitmap in ActionScript 3?

  I am having a tough time figuring this out. I need to be able to detect a fill area for something similar to a coloring book picture. The user will click inside the area that needs to be filled.   I'm looking for a very basic slideshow which displays images of various sizes. For example, the first image could be a standard 800x600 but the next might be a taller portrait image and so on. The slideshow doesn't need to have any controls. The specification just states that the page will be black and in the centre there'll be the area where images will display. As far as I know, it will be very simple like this - www.jeffcutter.net. I'm limited on time here so I'm not able to look into writing a custom one or anything like that. • PHP exec() hangs, Error 500

  So, my plan is to make small thumbnails of URL's with PHP and IECapt. IECapt works well, a nice command line tool, gets the full sized image of specified URL in 1 to 4 seconds. But my problem is to execute it trough PHP. This is the code I've trying to get working: exec('IECapt.exe ' . escapeshellarg($URL) . ' ' . escapeshellarg($Filename)) $URL is of course the URL, and $filename is a simplified version of the URL. Sometimes I get the IECapt to snap the image(trough PHP), but it takes awfully long (30-60s), and in the end I always get a 500-error, with no error messages to tell me what's wrong. Both variables are fine, they work manually with commandline: IECapt http://google.com Google.png My server set-up is IIS7 and PHP5.2.9, if relevant. (Windows Vista, all on my personal computer, so full access.) Any ideas?

  hi, my customer wants a gallery of videos and images (small thumbnails) and if you click on one of them you can see the picture / video in the overlaying lightbox). Now, I cannot install auto-generating video thumbnails because I don't have access to ffmpeg module on the server. I can only allow my customer to upload these thumbnails by himself. I'm using image and video CCK fields for each node to allow my customer images and videos. However I dunno how should I let him upload thumbnails for his videos. Should I create an additional Image CCK field for this ? Consequently, I should somehow associate the videos with the images in the design and my customer should pay attention to place them in the same order.. this is not very nice solution, but it is the only one that came to my mind so far. Furthermore, I'm using the lightbox I should somehow ignore the video thumbnails and display the videos instead... some tips ? Thanks

  I have a created a 3 circle venn diagram using pure CSS3 and each circle has a :hover event attached to it. I also have an image of an arrow which is pointing to the center of the venn diagram. I want the arrow to visually appear to be on top of the circles, so I put the z-index higher on the arrow than the circles. The problem now, is that the :hover event does not trigger on half of the venn diagram now because the arrow image is on top, which causes the hover to be on top of the arrow rather than the circle that I want it to be over. So is it possible to make an element have a high z-index visually but not programmatically?

If I call save then exit my program and start again I can save images to my events but if I just call save when I try to add an image and call save again I get a foreign key error. From what I know I thought my save method was updating the database from my dataset so the event associated with the image should exist. Anyway here is my save method...
