  • Query two different Servers

    I have to query two different servers from a dynamically built query. It basically gets data from one server, treats it, and inserts it into another server. The only problem is I have to be sure it works for both situations: If both the source and destination databases are on the same server, and if they're not. I understand the concept of using Linked Servers in SQL Server, but I cannot think of a way to consider both alternatives, same server and different servers. A little help?

    I have a query: The "X" tables are from one data source and the "Y" table is from another...but there is join between the data sources. I can't seem to figure out how to enter the two different connection strings for this to run.     I want to compare the change of a DOM node after a user event is fired on it; but I don't know on which element a user would fire, so my idea is to (1) save the DOM tree before an event and (2) compare the saved tree with the updated DOM tree when an event is fired. My question are (1) is there any better way? and (2) if there is no other way, what would be the fast algorithm to compare two DOM trees?

  • Mercurial: Creating a diff of two commits

    Is there a way to get the changes of two commits with mercurial? The second commit is not directly after the first one, there are some other ones between them. I tried hg diff [some params] --change xxxxx --change yyyyy > file.patch but that only includes the last changeset. If there is no way to achieve this with hg, is there maybe a tool to combine patches?

  • wpf window ghosting problem when resizing over two screens

    The title pretty much describes it. If I resize my WPF app so that it stretches over two monitors in a dual monitor setup, and resize it back, there will be a ghost window in the second monitor that does nothing, but is still moved when I move the original window in the first screen. Has anyone had issues like this? I think its a refresh bug on some OSs (I use WINXP 32 bit), but would like to confirm with the community.

    Is there any clever way to mix two bit sequences in such way that bits from first sequence will be on odd places, and bits from second sequence will be on even places. Both sequences are no longer than 16b so output will fit into 32bit integer. Example: First sequence : 1 0 0 1 0 0 Second sequence : 1 1 1 0 1 1 Output : 1 1 0 1 0 1 1 0 0 1 0 1 I thought about making integer array of size 2^16 and then the output would be: arr[first] << 1 | arr[second]
