• GPG and libpcap help

  I was trying to install the newest version of libpcap (as the version in the repositories doesn't seem current) and ran into the following problem. I copied the tcpdump-workers.asc text from the tcpdump website (which hosts libpcap as well) and imported the key to my keyring using gpg --import tcpdump-workers.asc. That when all well and fine but when I tried to verify the libpcap-1.4.0.tar.gz file against the key with gpg --verify, I ended up getting the message that unexpected data. was found. I am wondering if anyone else has run into this problem as the ancient technique of googling my problem has done little to answer my question.

  How can I screen-capture an inactive (minimized / on another workspace) window in Ubuntu? Applications like ImageMagick's import are only able to capture active windows. When attempting to capture an inactive window, I get the following message: unable to read X window image `<id>': Resource temporarily unavailable @ error/xwindow.c/XImportImage/5023. Might be able to do this using Compiz, as it is able to render previews of inactive windows. Furthermore, in my specific case, the window I want to capture is run in a Wine Explorer-container. Inside that container the application is always active.

  I'm just putting together an internal data system for a client, which is ASP.NET VB, backed by an SQL database, on an in-house IIS7.5 dedicated server. I want to store certain global settings, such as the age limit for news articles, admin contacts etc, in a file NOT within the database (i.e. to avoid unnecessary database query's) Where would the best place to store this be? global.asax? app.config? or a custom XML file? how would i import these at runtime? (probably to session variables) ETA: Also - the settings must be editable from within the site, i.e. an admin section i'm yet to build

  My company is a broker in the real estate industry. As such, we send a lot of our listings to sites like Trulia.com and Zillow.com, among others. These sites direct leads to our realtors, and provide us with reports every month detailing the activity our listings have had on their site-- links back to our website, emails generated, etc. Our Marketing and Advertising departments want to take that information and enter it into a system to keep track of everything in one place, for the purpose of producing comparison reports. I cannot find any externally available product that provides this functionality. I would sincerely like to avoid writing this tool myself. Does anyone know of a tool that could do this? In short, an ideal system would: Imports Google Analytics data via API Imports real estate listing site data via CSV import / manual entry Provides comparison reports based on data Does anyone know of anything pre-made that can do this?

  Recently while working on a project to import data from an Excel worksheet using SSIS, I realized that sometimes the SSIS Package failed even though when there were no changes in the structure/schema of the Excel worksheet. I investigated it and I noticed that the SSIS Package succeeded for some set of files, but for others it failed. I found that the structure/schema of the worksheet from both these sets of Excel files were the same, the data was the only difference. How come just changing the data can make an SSIS Package fail? What actually causes this failure? What can we do to fix it?

  I'm using GLEE2D, a level editor allowing me to import images, scale them, rotate them, and position them onto layers and export the data into XML format. However, it does not tell me objects' boundaries. I can calculate them, but only given the original image's polygons. How do I get polygons of objects in a transparent image? An example object (I outlined it): How would I turn the object, knowing the scaled size of the image, into polygons? Is there an algorithm for this? I'll use OpenGL to draw them.

  I'm having a hell of a time getting WCF Data Services to work within Silverlight. I'm using the VS2010 RC. I've struggled with the cross domain issue requiring the use of clientaccesspolicy.xml & crossdomain.xml files in the web server root folder, but I just couldn't get this to work. I've resorted to putting both the Silverlight Web App & the WCF Data Service in the same project to get past this issue, but any advice here would be good. But now that I can actually see my data coming from the database and being displayed in a data grid within Silverlight I thought my troubles were over - but no. I can edit the data and the in-memory entity is changing, but when I call BeginSaveChanges (with the appropriate async EndSaveChangescall) I get no errors, but no data updates in the database. • Parsing a JSON Response from a .Net webservice

  Just to get this out in the open I am new to JAVA, KSOAP, and JSON. So I'll try to explain this the best I can. A while ago I created a webservice to be consumed by Blackberry Apps that we're built using the plug in for Visual Studio. Now the project I am working on, I want to consume the same webservice for Android devices. For the most part I have the base code for the Android app done and working. Here's my problem: I can successfully call the webservice and get a response. I know from creating the webservice that it sends a JSON response. My problem is trying to parse through the JSON response. I have found a few examples that I have been suiting to my needs however I am hung up on one thing. In the JSON each element is preceeded by "anyType" which is forcing my code to return no results (Ultimately I am binding the data to an ArrayList) Here's what I get if I "getProperty(0).toString()... anyType{Artist=anyType{TrackName=Champagne Supernova;}; Here is the code I am using to parse the JSON Object.... • Perl Scripts Seem to be Caching?

  I'm running a perl script via mod_perl with Apache. I am trying to parse parameters in a restful fashion (aka GET www.domain.com/rest.pl/Object/ID). If I specify the ID like this: GET www.domain.com/rest.pl/Object/1234 I will get object 1234 back as a result as expected. However, if I specify an incorrect hacked url like this GET www.domain.com/rest.pl/Object/123 I will also get back object 1234. I am pretty sure that the issue in this question is happening so I packaged up my method and invoked it from my core script out of the package. Even after that I am still seeing the threads returning seemingly cached data. One of the recommendations in the aforementioned article is to replace my with our. My impression from reading up on our vs my was that our is global and my is local. My assumption is the the local variable gets reinitialized each time. That said, like in my code example below I am resetting the variables each time with new values. • Android Title bar leaving space in when application is resumed

  I am using a Tab Host in my Android App. I have the Titlebar hidden. When I leave the App and resume to it, I have some strange behaviour. If I resume to a tab using a list activity with listView.setAdapter, the title bar is hidden and the space it takes up is consumed by the App. However, if I resume to any tab without the listView.setAdapter, the Titlebar is hidden, but space which was used by it is left behind. This is pushes my tabs (which are positioned at the bottom of the screen) off the screen. The space is once again consumed by my app if I then change to any other tab. I have tried to invalidate most of the obvious Views in my App without and success.   I'm making a change to a set of code for a Flex project that I didn't write and was set up to compile using ant tasks. I assume that the codebase was stable at the last checkin but I'm running into memory issues when trying to build a project using MXMLC and ant (see stack trace below). Before, I was just getting an out of memory error. I tried using a different machine and got this more verbose exception (including problems with the image fetcher). I've tried using various versions of the SDK, I've tried replacing the <mxmlc> tag with <exec executable="mxmlc"> with no luck. • How do you pass user credentials from WebClient to a WCF REST service?

  I am trying to expose a WCT REST service and only users with valid username and password would be able to access it. The username and password are stored in a SQL database. However, I have not been able to figure out how to pass the user credentials to the service. I tried various values for client.Credentials but none of them seems to trigger the code in my custom validator. I am getting the following error: The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a send. Here is some sample code I have tried: WebClient client = new WebClient(); client.Credentials = new NetworkCredential("name", "password", "domain"); client.OpenReadCompleted += new OpenReadCompletedEventHandler(GetData); client.OpenReadAsync(new Uri(uriString)); If I set the security mode to None, the whole thing works. I also tried other clientCredentialType values and none of them worked. I also self-hosted the WCF service to eliminate the issues related to IIS trying to authenticate a user before the service gets a chance.
