• Access Violation Using memcpy or Assignment to an Array in a Struct

  Hi, I wrote a program last night that worked just fine but when I refactored it today to make it more extensible, I ended up with a problem. The original version had a hard-coded array of bytes. After some processing, some bytes were written into the array and then some more processing was done. To avoid hard-coding the pattern, I put the array in a structure so that I could add some related data and create an array of them. However now, I cannot write to the array in the structure. Here’s a pseudo-code example: main() { char pattern[]="\x32\x33\x12\x13\xba\xbb"; PrintData(pattern); pattern[2]='\x65'; PrintData(pattern); } That one works but this one does not: struct ENTRY { char* pattern; int somenum; }; main() { ENTRY Entries[] = { {"\x32\x33\x12\x13\xba\xbb\x9a\xbc", 44} , {"\x12\x34\x56\x78", 555} }; PrintData(Entries[0].pattern); Entries[0].pattern[2]='\x65'; //0xC0000005 exception!!! :( PrintData(Entries[0].pattern); } The second version causes an access violation exception on the assignment. I’m sure it’s because the second version allocates memory differently, but I’m starting to get a headache trying to figure out what’s what or how to get fix this. (I’m currently working around it by dynamically allocating a buffer of the same size as the pattern array, copying the pattern to the new buffer, making the changes to the buffer, using the buffer in the place of the pattern array, and then trying to remember to free the—temporary—buffer.) (Specifically, the original version cast the pattern array—+offset—to a DWORD* and assigned a DWORD constant to it to overwrite the four target bytes. The new version cannot do that since the length of the source is unknown—may not be four bytes—so it uses memcpy instead. I’ve checked and re-checked and have made sure that the pointers to memcpy are correct, but I still get an access violation. I use memcpy instead of str(n)cpy because I am using plain chars (as an array of bytes), not Unicode chars and ignoring the null-terminator. Using an assignment as above causes the same problem.) • Paging through records (json data) using jQuery...

  I have a JSON result that contains numerous records. I'd like to show the first five records in one page and create pager links which have to move to that page with five record so on. I don't want the page to refresh which is why I'm hoping for a combination of JavaScript and jQuery. • $_POST data returns empty when headers are > POST_MAX_SIZE

  Hi Hopefully someone here might have an answer to my question. I have a basic form that contains simple fields, like name, number, email address etc and 1 file upload field. I am trying to add some validation into my script that detects if the file is too large and then rejects the user back to the form to select/upload a smaller file. My problem is, if a user selects a file that is bigger than my validation file size rule and larger than php.ini POST_MAX_SIZE/UPLOAD_MAX_FILESIZE and pushes submit, then PHP seems to try process the form only to fail on the POST_MAX_SIZE settings and then clears the entire $_POST array and returns nothing back to the form. Is there a way around this? Surely if someone uploads something than the max size configured in the php.ini then you can still get the rest of the $_POST data???   I am attempting to understand the world of WIF in context of a WCF Data Service / REST / OData server. I have a hacked up version of SelfSTS that is running inside a unit test project. When the unit tests start, it kicks off a WCF service, which generates my SAML token. It also has a property NameClaimType, which points to "http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2005/05/identity/claims/name". It would make more sense if NameClaimType mapped to nameidentifier, wouldn't it? How do I make that happen? Or am I expecting the wrong thing of the name claim? Thanks!

• OpenJPA + Tomcat JDBC Connection Pooling = stale data

  I am using the Tomcat JDBC Connection Pool with OpenJPA in a web application. The application does not see updated data. Specifically, another java application adds or removes records from the database, but the web application never sees these updates. This is quite a serious issue. I must be missing something basic. If I remove the Connection Pool from the implementation, the web application sees the updates. It's as if the web application's commits are never called on the Connection. Since MVC is abstracted from everything else via WCF, I've created a couple utility classes and extensions to help with this.   Here's my issue: In my controller, I want to grab user input from a form. I then parse the input, and compare it to database values to ensure I'm grabbing the correct input. I simply want to match the user's answers to the question, grab the user ID, the question ID, and then determine if the answer applies to a multiple choice or checkbox question, or something else. I take those values and insert them into the answer table. Ignore the waiver stuff.   Firstly, this question requires a bit of introduction so please bear with me. The high level is that I am connecting to a outside web service which will return some XML to my apex controller. The idea is that I want to display the XML returned into a nice tabular format in a VisualForce page. Now currently I am using the XMLdom utility class (developed by SF for XML functions) to map this data into a custom object "reportTable" which contains a list of "row" custom objects. The reason I am building it out this way is because I don't know how many elements will be in each row, nor the number of rows. The Visualforce page looks something like this: <table><apex:repeat value="{!reportTables}" var="table"> <apex:repeat value="{!table.rows}" var="row"> <tr> <apex:repeat value="{!row.ColumnValue}" var="column"> <apex:repeat value="{!column}" var="value"> <td> <apex:outputText value="{!value}" /> </td> </apex:repeat> </apex:repeat> </tr> </apex:repeat> Questions are: 1) Does this seem like a good approach to the problem? 2) Is there a simpler/better way to consume the XML besides writing my own custom objects to map VF to? I have pasted an "Execute SQl task" on the package event handler "On error". For testing purpose, I am deliberately trying to load duplicate keys in a table which consists of a Primary key column(so as to get an error). But instead of having just one error, "Violation of primary key constraint", SSIS records 3 in the table. PFA the screenshot as well.   I know this has been asked countless times on here, however I tried all the solutions and am still having the issue. Most people say to set the content-type (which I did) and to name the inputs that I wish to Post to node. I have done both of these things, yet still get "undefined" when trying to send data from an HTML form to node.   I'm revising this question after reading the resources mentioned in the original answers and working through implementing it. I'm using the google maps api to integrate a map into my Rails site. I have a markets model with the following columns: ID, name, address, lat, lng. On my markets/index view, I want to populate a map with all the markets in my markets table. I'm trying to output @markets as json data, and that's where I'm running into problems. I have the basic map displaying, but right now it's just a blank map. I'm following the tutorials very closely, but I can't get the markers to generate dynamically from the json. Any help is much appreciated! • How to stream XML data using XOM?

  Say I want to output a huge set of search results, as XML, into a PrintWriter or an OutputStream, using XOM. The resulting XML would look like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <resultset> <result> [child elements and data] </result> ... ... [1000s of result elements more] </resultset> Because the resulting XML document could be big (tens or hundreds of megabytes, perhaps), I want to output it in a streaming fashion (instead of creating the whole Document in memory and then writing that). The granularity of outputting one <result> at a time is fine, so I want to generate one <result> after another, and write it into the stream. Assume there's already a method that helps with iterating the results and generating Element objects: public nu.xom.Element getNextResult(); So I'd simply like to do something like this pseudocode (automatic flushing enabled, so don't worry about that) : open stream/writer write declaration write start tag for <resultset> while more results: write next <result> element write end tag for <resultset> close stream/writer I've been looking at Serializer, but the necessary methods, writeStartTag(Element), writeEndTag(Element), write(DocType) are protected, not public! Is there no other way than to subclass Serializer to be able to use those methods, or to manually write the start and end tags directly into the stream as Strings, bypassing XOM altogether? (The latter wouldn't be too bad in this simple example, but in the general case it would get quite ugly.) Am I missing something or is XOM just not made for this? With dom4j I could do this easily using XMLWriter - it has constructors that take a Writer or OutputStream, and methods writeOpen(Element), writeClose(Element), writeDocType(DocumentType) etc. Compare to XOM's Serializer where the only public write method is the one that takes a whole Document. Please refrain from answering if you're not familiar with XOM! I specifically want to know if and how you can do this kind of streaming with that library. (This is related to my question about the best dom4j replacement where XOM is a strong contender.)

• Adding data (not only text) to a multi column ListView (WPF)

  I am working on a WPF application in C# (.NET 4.0) where I have a ListView with a GridView that has two columns. I dynamically want to add rows (in code). My dilemma is that only the first column will have regular text added to it. The second column will have an object that includes a multi column Grid with TextBlocks. (see link http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/803/listview.png/) If I do what you would normally do when you want to enter text in all columns (ie. DisplayMemberBinding) all I get in the second column is the text "System.Windows.Grid", which obviously isn't what I want. For reference if I just try to add the Grid object (with the TextBlocks) with the code listView1.Items.Add(grid1) (not using DisplayMemberBinding) the object gets added to the second column only (with the first column being blank) and not how it normally works with text where the same text ends up in all columns. I hope my question is detailed enough and any help with this would be much appreciated. EDIT: I have tried the following code, howeever every time I click the button to add a new row every single row gets updated with the same datatemplate. • How to populate JList with data from another JList

  I have a MySQL database which contains data i would like to populate into a JList in my java program. I have two JList, one which is fill with Events Title and the second is to be fill with Guest Name. What i would like is when the user click on any of the Events Title, the second JList will show all the Guest Name that belong to that Event. I have already successfully populate the first JList with all the Events Title. What I'm having trouble with is when the user click on the Events Title, the Guests Name will show twice on the second JList. How can i make it to show only once? Here is what i got so far...
