  • jQuery: Main nav items selected depending on URL or page name

    Ok, I've looked all over for a solution for this but so far I'm unable to find anything related to what I need to accomplish. What I need is very simple as far as logic goes. I have a nav bar like this one: <nav> <ul> <li><a href="download.shtml">Download</a></li> <li><a href="documentation.shtml">Documentation</a></li> <li><a href="contact.shtml">Contact</a></li> <li><a href="about.shtml">About</a></li> </ul> </nav> And the URLs of the site are straightforward: http://domain.net/download.shtml http://domain.net/documentation.shtml http://domain.net/contact.shtml http://domain.net/about.shtml Question: How can I detect which page/URL I'm on and add a class of .active to the corresponding nav item? The end result would be, for example if I'm in the Download page: <nav> <ul> <li><a href="download.shtml" class="active">Download</a></li> <li><a href="documentation.shtml">Documentation</a></li> <li><a href="contact.shtml">Contact</a></li> <li><a href="about.shtml">About</a></li> </ul> </nav> Thanks in advance for any help on this matter.

This is how my Stored Proc returns the result set. SELECT c.CategoryId, c.Name Category, f.FeatureId, f.Name Feature FROM Category c INNER JOIN Feature f ON c.CategoryId = f.CategoryId ORDER BY c.Name --Resultset produced by the above query CategoryId CategoryName FeatureId FeatureName --------------------------------------------------- 1 Cat1 1 F1 1 Cat1 2 F2 2 Cat2 3 F3 2 Cat2 4 F4 2 Cat2 5 F5 Now if i want to build the list of categories in my .Net code, i have to loop thru the result set and add features unless the category changes. This is how my .Net code looks like that builds Categories and Features.   • SQL Express as a main DB

    Hi everyone, Does anyone out there use SQL Express 2008 R2 in a production environment? I am looking at hosting a Windows VPS as a server for a client software product I have developed. Clients connect to the server, send their data to a service running on the server, and the service updates the database. I'm trying to keep running costs down, and whilst I have a license for SQL Developer I obviously can't use this in a production environment. Would it be wise/possible to use SQL Express 2008, and if so why/why not? Thanks, JD

  • Trying to write priority queue in Java but getting "Exception in thread "main" java.lang.ClassCastEx

    For my data structure class, I am trying to write a program that simulates a car wash and I want to give fancy cars a higher priority than regular ones using a priority queue. The problem I am having has something to do with Java not being able to type cast "Object" as an "ArrayQueue" (a simple FIFO implementation).   • Nothing displaying for Drupal main menu

    I'm trying to output the main_menu in to a custom theme on the page.tpl.php template however nothing is displaying when I add <?php print theme("links", $main_menu) ?> However when I do a var_dump on the $main_menu I get array(2) { ["menu-218"]=> array(2) { ["href"]=> string(7) "" ["title"]=> string(4) "Home" } ["menu-335"]=> array(2) { ["href"]=> string(6) "node/1" ["title"]=> string(4) "Home" } } What might I be doing wrong? I'm new to Drupal so be kind please :D

Now I want to speed things up and to split the work between several processes and to use one process to update the MySQL DB with the retrieved data from other processes. In JAVA I know that there is a thread pool which I can dedicate some threads to accomplish some work. how do I do it in PHP? Any advice is welcome. Thank

  • MYSQL Inserting rows that reference main rows.

    I'm transferring my access logs into a database. I've got two tables: urlRequests id : int(10) host : varchar(100) path: varchar(300) unique index (host, path) urlAccesses id : int(10) request : int(10) <-- reference to urlRequests row ip : int(4) query : varchar(300) time : timestamp I need to insert a row into urlAccesses for every page load, but first a row in urlRequests has to exist with the requested host and path so that urlAccesses's row can reference it. I know I can do it this way: A. check if a row exists in urlRequests B. insert a row in urlRequests if it needs it C. insert a row into urlAccesses with the urlRequests's row id referenced That's three queries for every page load if the urlRequests row doesn't exist. I'm very new to MySQL, so I'm guessing that there's a way to go about this that would be faster and use less queries.

    I need to target the starting tag of the last top level LI in a list that may or may-not contain sublists in various positions - without using CSS or Javascript. Is there a simple/elegant regexp that can help with this? I'm no guru w/ them, but it appears the need for greedy/non-greedy selectors when I'm selecting all the middle text (.*) / (.+) changes as nested lists are added and moved around in the list - and this is throwing me off. $pattern = '/^(<ul>.*)<li>(.+<\/li><\/ul>)$/'; $replacement = '$1<li id="lastLi">$3'; Perhaps there is an easier approach?? converting to XML to target the LI and then convert back? ie: Single Element <ul> <li>TARGET</li> </ul> Multiple Elements <ul> <li>foo</li> <li>TARGET</li> </ul> Nested Lists before end <ul> <li> foo <ul> <li>bar</li> </ul> <li> <li>TARGET</li> </ul> Nested List at end <ul> <li>foo</li> <li> TARGET <ul> <li>bar</li> </ul> </li> </ul>

    In what circumstances would updating a UI control from a non-UI thread could cause the processes' handles to continually increase, when using a delegate and .InvokeRequired? For example: public delegate void DelegateUIUpdate(); private void UIUpdate() { if (someControl.InvokeRequired) { someControl.Invoke(new DelegateUIUpdate(UIUpdate)); return; } // do something with someControl } When this is called in a loop or on timer intervals, the handles for the program consistently increase.

    HI, During the development of my app, I was using Thread.Sleep to give our external devices some time to adjust to settings before making queries, as they are quite old and slow. I now want to replace these with something a bit more stylish and correct. Does anyone have a simple way to "wait" for a device rather than sleep, bearing in mind the device does not let us know when it is ready, so a wait is about as good as we can do !?? Regards, George.

  • Log in to subdomain via main domain

    I have a website, available through multiple domainnames. like www.domain1.com .... www.domain5.com All my customers have their own subdomain. like: customer1.domain1.com customer2.domain1.com .... customer351.domain4.com Currently i dont use SSL, each customer log in their own account via their sub domain. I want to change this, and make all customers log in on a central log in page, that would use SSL, for example. https://login.domain1.com And somehow redirect each user to the correct sub domain adress. (Sub domain that don't use SSL) How do I do this, and maintain security? One idea i had: Login - add random value somewhere in the database, Redirect to subdomain, with querystring the randomvalue. And after that the session takes care of it, Each value can be used once only.. But how secure is that? I guess someone would ask the question "why?" to me. Because SSL costs money. And unfortunately i dont have a lot of it. :D Thanks for your time!

    Is there a way to see how many context switches each thread generates? (both in and out if possible) Either in X/s, or to let it run and give aggregated data after some time. (either on linux or on windows) I have found only tools that give aggregated context-switching number for whole os or per process. My program makes many context switches (50k/s), probably a lot not necessary, but I am not sure where to start optimizing, where do most of those happen.

    I have two web applications (A) and (B). (A) is my primary web application. (B) is purely for content storage, such as file uploads by users of (A). What's best way to securely retrieve data from (B) into (A) but in a way that does not expose the data in (B) to potential discovery by third-parties over the public internet or nosy users of (A)? For example, if I use a HTML form POST from (A) to (B) to retrieve user data, and have a hidden form field called user_id=1, then someone could simply change this to user_id=2 and see the content owned by another user of the application. That would be a problem.
