• Partial Trust in WPF 4

  I've started a new project in WPF 4 (.NET 4) and trying to see if I can run it in xbap mode. I need to run the application in Full Trust with the new mode made available in .NET 4 which asks the end user if the full trust application should be run. I've set the "Security" mode to "Full Trust" application, and it builds just fine. When I run it, an exception is thrown and IE error message shows the following error. Any ways around it??   I've created a Wcf Service to back a Ajax page (.Net 3.5). It's hosted in IIS 6.1 Integrated Pipeline. (The rest of Autofac is setup correctly for Web Forms integration). Everything works fine and dandy with the normal Wcf pipeline.   I am attempting to create a strongly typed view with a "MVC View User Control" that is being rendered using Html.RenderPartial(). The top of my ascx file looks like this: <%@ Control Language="C#" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl<System.Collections.IEnumerable<string>>" %> There is nothing else on this page, currently. When I execute the app and load the page that renders this control, I get the following error: Could not load type 'System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl<System.Collections.IEnumerable<string>>'. So, then I simplified it: <%@ Control Language="C#" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl<String>" %> And then, just in case it needed to be fully qualified: <%@ Control Language="C#" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl<System.String>" %> Everytime I get the same error (substituting type). what am I doing wrong here? I'm on .NET 3.5 with ASP.NET MVC 1.0 RTM.

• DataForm commit button is not enabled when data changed.

  This is a weird problem. I am using a dataform, and when I edit the data the save button is enabled, but the cancel button is not. After looking around a bit I have found that I have to implement the IEditableObject in order to cancel an edit. Great I did that (and it all works), but now the commit button (Save) is grayed out, lol. Anyone have any idea's why the commit button will not activate any more? I want to use L2E since it s very convenient to my company's apps, I created a demo project, the demo does run on every machine but when I, lets say, press a button that has some code that uses the entity I get this error: specified store provider cannot be found in the configuration, or is not valid. note that I get this error only on machines that does not have VS2008 installed, on these machines (the ones with VS2008) the demo works well. any advice is appreciated. My intention is to understand the benefits of each style and not just a blanket answer of which to use. My main goals is clarity and high value testability. Testability overall is important, but I wouldn't sacrifice design simplicity and clarity to be able to add another type of test that doesn't lead to too much gain over the test cases already possible with a simpler design. If a design choice does off more testability please include an example (pseudo code is fine) of the type of test it can now offer so I can make my decision if I value that type of extra test enough.   I used to set Transaction timeouts by using TransactionOptions.Timeout, but have decided for ease of maintenance to use the config approach: <system.transactions> <defaultSettings timeout="00:01:00" /> </system.transactions> Of course, after putting this in, I wanted to test it was working, so reduced the timeout to 5 seconds, then ran a test that lasted longer than this - but the transaction does not appear to abort! If I adjust the test to set TransactionOptions.Timeout to 5 seconds, the test works as expected After Investigating I think the problem appears to relate to TransactionOptions.Timeout, even though I'm no longer using it. I still need to use TransactionOptions so I can set IsolationLevel, but I no longer set the Timeout value, if I look at this object after I create it, the timeout value is 00:00:00, which equates to infinity. Does this mean my value set in the config file is being ignored? To summarise: Is it impossible to mix the config setting, and use of TransactionOptions If not, is there any way to extract the config setting at runtime, and use this to set the Timeout property [Edit] OR Set the default isolation-level without using TransactionOptions

  I have a WCF method that is not receiving the request parameters. But if I use the WCFTest client (the one that comes with visual studio) the method receives the parameters.   I need to check that our visitors are using HTTPS. In BasePage I check if the request is coming via HTTPS. If it's not, I redirect back with HTTPS.
