• Drop down select to change a second drop down select automatically

  I have a webpage where I have a form with several areas to input text and two drop down select options countries is the first one and depending in witch country is chosen the second should display the estates for that country to choose. my page connects to my db from where it gets the countries and estates.... I have a table with the country names and one table for each country estates. so all I'm trying to do is making it change the states to choose from automatically depending witch country got selected with out summiting the form since that enters a new entry to another table in my db. I seen that using javascript is the way to go but can't get it to work in my case since I don't want to be sent to another page or summit the form. here is part of my code any help will be greatly appreciated. • Passing a comparator syntax help in Java

  I've tried this a couple ways, the first is have a class that implements comparator at the bottom of the following code. • Why Does Adding a UDF or Code Truncates the # of Resources in List?

  Go to the Primavera - Resource Assignment History subject area.  Go under Resources, General and add fields Resource Id, Resource Name and Current Flag. Because this is using a historical subject area with Type II slowly changing dimensions for Resources you may get multiple rows for each resource if there have been any changes on the resource.  You may see a few records with current flags = 0, and you will see a row with current flag = 1 for all resources. Current flag = 1 represents this is the most up to date row for this resource.  In this query the OBI server is only querying the W_RESOURCE_HD dimension.  (Query from nqquery log) select distinct 0 as c1,      D1.c1 as c2,      D1.c2 as c3,      D1.c3 as c4 from       (select distinct T10745.CURRENT_FLAG as c1,                T10745.RESOURCE_ID as c2,                T10745.RESOURCE_NAME as c3           from                 W_RESOURCE_HD T10745 /* Dim_W_RESOURCE_HD_Resource */            where  ( T10745.LAST_RUN_PER_DAY_FLAG = 1 )       ) D1 If you add a resource code to the query now it is forcing the OBI server to include data from W_RESOURCE_HD, W_CODES_RESOURCE_HD, as well as W_ASSIGNMENT_SPREAD_HF. Because the Resource and Resource Codes are in different dimensions they must be joined through a common fact table. So if at anytime you are pulling data from different dimensions it will ALWAYS pass through the fact table in that subject areas. One rule is if there is no fact value related to that dimensional data then nothing will show. In this case if you have a list of 100 resources when you query just Resource Id, Resource Name and Current Flag but when you add a Resource Code the list drops to 60 it could be because those resources exist at a dictionary level but are not assigned to any activities and therefore have no facts. • Resolving data redundancy up front

  Introduction As all of us do when confronted with a problem, the resource of choice is to ‘Google it’. This is where the plot thickens. Recently I was asked to stage data from numerous databases which were to be loaded into a data warehouse. To make a long story short, I was looking for a manner in which to obtain the table names from each database, to ascertain potential overlap.   As the source data comes from a SQL database created from dumps of a third party product,  one could say that there were +/- 95 tables for each database.   Yes I know that first instinct is to use the system stored procedure “exec sp_msforeachdb 'select "?" AS db, * from [?].sys.tables'”. However, if one stops to think about this, it would be nice to have all the results in a temporary or disc based  table; which in itself , implies additional labour. This said,  I decided to ‘re-invent’ the wheel. I am only interested in record numbers under 25. I now set the value of the temporary variable @DatabaseName (see below) .Note that I used the row number as a part of the predicate. Now, knowing the database name, I can create dynamic T-SQL to be executed using the sp_sqlexec stored procedure (see the code in red below). Finally, after all the tables for that given database have been placed in temporary table ##rawdata3, I increment the counter and continue on. Note that I used a global temporary table to ensure that the result set persists after the termination of the run. • Adventures in Windows 8: Working around the navigation animation issues in LayoutAwarePage

  LayoutAwarePage is a pretty cool add-on to Windows 8 apps, which facilitates greatly the implementation of orientation-aware (portrait, landscape) as well as state-aware (snapped, filled, fullscreen) apps. It has however a few issues that are obvious when you use transformed elements on your page. Adding a LayoutAwarePage to your application If you start with a blank app, the MainPage is a vanilla Page, with no such feature. In order to have a LayoutAwarePage into your app, you need to add this class (and a few helpers) with the following operation: Right click on the Solution and select Add, New Item from the context menu. From the dialog, select a Basic Page (not a Blank Page, which is another vanilla page). If you prefer, you can also use Split Page, Items Page, Item Detail Page, Grouped Items Page or Group Detail Page which are all LayoutAwarePages. Personally I like to start with a Basic Page, which gives me more creative freedom. Adding this new page will cause Visual Studio to show a prompt asking you for permission to add additional helper files to the Common folder. One of these helpers in the LayoutAwarePage class, which is where the magic happens. LayoutAwarePage offers some help for the detection of orientation and state (which makes it a pleasure to design for all these scenarios in Blend, by the way) as well as storage for the navigation state (more about that in a future article). Issue with LayoutAwarePage When you use UI elements such as a background picture, a watermark label, logos, etc, it is quite common to do a few things with those: Making them partially transparent (this is especially true for background pictures; for instance I really like a black Page background with a half transparent picture placed on top of it). Transforming them, for instance rotating them a bit, scaling them, etc. Here is an example with a picture of my two beautiful daughters in the Bird Park in Kuala Lumpur, as well as a transformed TextBlock. The image has an opacity of 40% and the TextBlock a simple RotateTransform. If I create an application with a MainPage that navigates to this LayoutAwarePage, however, I will have a very annoying effect: The background picture appears with an Opacity of 100%. The TextBlock is not rotated. This lasts only for less than a second (during the navigation animation) before the elements “snap into place” and get their desired effect. • I have this broken php upload script

  I have this script for uploading a image and content from a form, it works in one project but not the other. I have spent a good few hours trying to debug it, I am hoping someone could point out the issue I might be having. Where there are comments is where I have tried to debug. The first error I got was the "echo invalid file" at the beginning of the last comment. With these specific areas commented out the upload name and type that I am supposed to be grabbing from the form is not being echoed, I am thinking this is where the error is occurring, but can't quite seem to find it. • Elegant way for a recursive C++ template to do something different with the leaf class?

  I have a C++ class template that makes an Array of pointers. This also gets typedefed to make Arrays of Arrays and so on: typedef Array<Elem> ElemArray; typedef Array<ElemArray> ElemArrayArray; typedef Array<ElemArrayArray> ElemArrayArrayArray; I would like to be able to set one leaf node from another by copying the pointer so they both refer to the same Elem. But I also want to be able to set one Array (or Array of Arrays etc) from another. In this case I don't want to copy the pointers, I want to keep the arrays seperate and descend into each one until I get to the leaf node, at where I finally copy the pointers. I have code that does this (below). When you set something in an Array it calls a CopyIn method to do the copying. But because this is templated it also has to call the CopyIn method on the leaf class, which means I have to add a dummy method to every leaf class that just returns false. I have also tried adding a flag to the template to tell it whether it contains Arrays or not, and so whether to call the CopyIn method. This works fine - the CopyIn method of the leaf nodes never gets called, but it still has to be there for the compile to work! I have tried before with templates but always gave up after a day :/ If you could take the time to port the above I would greatly appreciate it.

  This is really confusing and I have never had this occur. For my computer, it is fine. But for anyone else's computer I have tried, it screws up. So on my site, designatease.com , the second bar down, it places the fifth item down below the first four. I am not sure why it is doing this. I want them to span across the bar but the stop at about half way. Help me out SOF. • z index background issue in IE

  I have a jQuery tools scroller set up with controls managing two separate divs of info - one images, the other related text that needs to sit over the top of the images with a transparent bg image. I am using z-indexing to achieve this and am aware of IE's issues with this but am unable to sort it (tested in IE6-8). • Xenserver 5.6 SR_BACKEND_FAILURE_47 no such volume group, but it is there

  I've looked everywhere (Google, here, a bunch of other sites), and while I have found people with similar problems, I couldn't find a single one with a solution to this. Last night our xenserver 5.6 box corrupted the /var/xapi/state.db, and I couldn't fix the xml, no matter what I did. After a good hour fiddling with the file, I figured it would be faster to just reinstall. The server had one 2tb hard drive running Xen and its VMs, and since Xen's install said it would erase the hard drive it was installed on, I plugged a new harddrive and installed Xen on it, without selecting any hard drives for storage. I Figured I could make it happen after install, using the partition on the old harddrive with all my VMs on it. I cant lose those VMs (got backups, but from inside the guests, not the VMs themselves).
