• JQuery UI Dialog widget problem with IE and ASP.NET

  The JQuery UI Dialog model form widget has an issue with ASP.NET when a button on the dialog is clicked to submit the page. It doesn't work because the form elements in the dialog window are outside the html form tags. So I used the fix of doing $("#dialog").parent().appendTo($("form:first"));. It works in Firefox but not in IE because the modal window now appears to be part of the rest of the webpage which is disabled. Visually, this is evident by the stripes showing on both the modal window and the rest of the web page.

• close file with fclose() but file still in use

  Hi all, I've got a problem with deleting/overwriting a file using my program which is also being used(read) by my program. The problem seems to be that because of the fact my program is reading data from the file (output.txt) it puts the file in a 'in use' state which makes it impossible to delete or overwrite the file. I don't understand why the file stays 'in use' because I close the file after use with fclose(); this is my code: bool bBool = true while(bBool){ //Run myprogram.exe tot generate (a new) output.txt //Create file pointer and open file FILE* pInputFile = NULL; pInputFile = fopen("output.txt", "r"); // //then I do some reading using fscanf() // //And when I'm done reading I close the file using fclose() fclose(pInputFile); //The next step is deleting the output.txt if( remove( "output.txt" ) == -1 ){ //ERROR }else{ //Succesfull } } I use fclose() to close the file but the file remains in use by my program until my program is totally shut down. • Recommendation of Jquery Table pager plugin?

  Hi I was trying to use the pager plugin that comes with the tablesorter plugin but I can't get it to work as you can see from my previous post http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2836680/need-help-with-jquery-tablesorter-pager-plugin. I given up on this plugin as no one can seem to come up with a solution how to make it work and I kinda need to get this place soon. So now I am looking for a new one but it must have the following features. Work on tables Work on tables that have the tablesorter 2.0 plugin on it( so I don't want a pager plugin that comes with its own table sorter since I don't want to change that. It should be a standalone pager plugin). Be able to add rows dynamically to the table and some how update the pager so this row now becomes part of the pager. Thanks

  Hello, I recently heard of the jQuery datalink plugin and wondered if I should be using if for the following: I have a an inbox in my app that consists of the following: Inbox (index) - List of Items (list of mails) Inbox (show) Item Viewer (1 mail) Inbox Unread Counter The challenge I'm having now is a user can mark a mail as read/unread in either view which makes keeping the counter accurate challenging. Can datalink help with this? If so how? Also, I read that datalink requires forms is that true? Or can I bind the links to anything like 0 and anytime a mailitem changes from read to unread it would automatically update? Thanks

  Alright so I have a php script which gets results from a DB, and to get those results I'm using a jQuery script to pull the results via getJSON. It works perfectly but now I want to do something if the php script returns no results (empty). I tried: $.getJSON('path/to/script'), {parameter:parameter}, function(data){ if (data) { alert('Result'); } else { alert('Empty); } }); But it's no good. I've tried different things like if (data.length) but still nothing. I've noticed that if there is no returned data the callback will never fire at all. So if that's the case, how do I handle a empty return?

• Image gallery with a Lightbox in jQuery

  Hi. I'd like to create a jQuery image gallery of showcased products. It will show one product image at a time, with Next/Previous arrows, and a brief name and price as overlay on the image. If users click it, it will go to the order page. It will have an icon to show a larger, modal version (Lightbox style) of the image with full description, price, and a link to a page to order it. In other words, it's an inline gallery, about 250px X 150px, with next/previous option, but also with a little icon to fire it up in a lightbox type modal window that can have links. Here's an example which doesn't have the inline gallery effect. Here's another, also missing the inline gallery. Is there such a beast as what I'm looking for? Thanks.

• Jquery dialog box - doesn't fade out before closing

  I have div(box) on my page and I'm using this script to display div as dialog box. Inside that div I have a hyper link, On click of the hyper link I want to fade out the dialog box and close.. The content of the dialog fades out, but the border of the dialog box remains same. If I add $("#box").dialog('close') to the click function after fadeto there is no effect.. it just closes the dialog box completely. • jQuery - Animation flicker using hover()

  I have a setup as described in this question which works perfectly. Essentially a drop down menu grows when you move your mouse over it to expose more options. There is, however, a small issue. If you move the mouse outside of the #dropdown div and then back in again quickly it constantly fires the mouseenter and mouseleave events causing a never ending cycle of flickering. How can I get around it? Thought it would be a simple task, but when I was going to do it I got stuck and not quite sure what to do anymore :p The object I would like to end up with should look something like this: { a: 80, b: 90, c: 20, ... } I can do it manually like this: var values = { a: $('#a').slider('value'), b: $('#b').slider('value'), c: $('#c').slider('value'), ... }; But that's a bit tedious, especially if I need to add or remove or rename.
