  • JavaScript Intellisense with Telerik in ASP.NET Master Page Project with VS 2010

    Today I was looking for a solution to get finally the JScript/Javascript/jQuery Intellisense Featureworking with my ASP.Net Webform Project to work. I found some good articles: - JScript IntelliSense Overview- JScript IntelliSense: A Reference for the “Reference” Tag- Enabling JavaScript intellisense in VS.NET 2010 to work with SharePoint 2010- Rich IntelliSense for jQueryBUT, all of suggested solutions did not work right with my Master Page based Visual Studio 2010 Solution.Only with physical Javascript Files (Telerik includes certain Javascript Files like jQuery as Ressource) or/andconfigure always a new ASP.NET Scriptmanager / RadScriptManager on every page derived from the Master Page, wasn't exactly what I was looking for.   • .NET development on a “Retina” MacBook Pro

    The rumor that Apple would release a super high resolution version of its 15” laptop has been around for quite awhile, and one I watched closely. After more than three years with a 17” MacBook Pro, and all of the screen real estate it offered, I was ready to replace it with something much lighter. It was a fantastic machine, still doing 6 or 7 hours after 460 charge cycles, but I wanted lighter and faster. With the SSD I put in it, I was able to sell it for $750. The appeal of higher resolution goes way back, when I would plug into a projector and scale up. Consolas, as it turns out, is a nice looking font for code when it’s bigger. While I have mostly indifference for iOS, I have to admit that a higher dot pitch on the iPhone and iPad is pretty to look at. So I ordered the new 15” “Retina” model as soon as the Apple Store went live with it, and got it seven days later. I’ve been primarily using Parallels as my VM of choice from OS X for about five years. They recently put out an update for compatibility with the display, though I’m not entirely sure what that means. I figured there would have to be some messing around to get the VM to look right. The combination that seems to work best is this: Set the display in OS X to “more room,” which is roughly the equivalent of the 1920x1200 that my 17” did. It’s not as stunning as the text at the default 1440x900 equivalent (in OS X), but it’s still quite readable. Parallels still doesn’t entirely know what to do with the high resolution, though what it should do is somehow treat it as native. That flaw aside, I set the Windows 7 scaling to 125%, and it generally looks pretty good. It’s not really taking advantage of the display for sharpness, but hopefully that’s something that Parallels will figure out. Screen tweaking aside, I got the base model with 16 gigs of RAM, so I give the VM 8. I can boot a Windows 7 VM in 9 seconds. Nine seconds! The Windows Experience Index scores are all 7 and above, except for graphics, which are both at 6. Again, that’s in a VM. It’s hard to believe there’s something so fast in a little slim package like that. Hopefully this one gets me at least three years, like the last one.

    So, as the title says, I want to be able to play NSF files using FMOD, because my project already uses FMOD and I'd rather not replace it. This will involve figuring out how existing players and emulators work and porting it. I haven't yet found an existing player that uses FMOD. My starting point is the MyNes source from http://sourceforge.net/projects/mynes/. There are two big steps between here and what I'm looking for. MyNes plays from a ROM, not NSF. So, I have to rip out the APU and get it to play NSF files. The MyNes APU uses SlimDX, so I have to convert that to FMOD.NET. I am really stuck about how to go about either of these, because I'm not that familiar with audio formats and it's hard finding resources online. So here are a few questions: From what I can tell from the NSF spec at http://kevtris.org/nes/nsfspec.txt, it's just contains the relevant memory section of the ROM, plus the header. If anyone can verify or correct this that would be great. The emulator APU uses data from the rest of the emulator to play, including things like cycle counts. I'm not sure what replaces this in a standalone player. Can't I just load all the music data at once into a stream and play it? Joining #1 and #2, does the header data from the NSF substitute for some of the ROM data in the emulator code? Using FMOD, will I be following the usercreatedsound example for loading a stream? And does this format count as PCM? Specifically MyNes says PCM8. Any tips on loading / playing the stream in FMOD are appreciated. As an aside, I don't really understand the loading / playing sections of the spec I linked at all. It seems to apply to 6502 systems / emulators only and not to my situation. I know it's a long shot for anyone here to have enough experience in this area to help, but anything you can provide is definitely appreciated. A link to an existing .NET library that does this would be even better, but I don't believe one exists.

I telling you to remove so VS will not prevent you to add new version of same assembly. Add all those assembly. Those dll will be following : System.Web.Mvc Razor and Webpages Dll.   Remember that in MVC3 we use old version of these assembly. Now When you done by adding all assembly then now open web.config.   There is 2 web.config file in our mvc project.  One is in root folder and second in Views folder. You need to update all those version no. This is not a big deal if you know the name of assembly. Now if you web.config show you assembly version as 3.000.00 then 3 would be replaced with 4 or 5 according to version no. Same thing need to applied all dll for both web.config.   Note :- In VS Template Views goes in ~/Views folder but if someone use any other folder then Views for views and those folder have also web.config then remember to update them also. Your project will be compile and make no warning and error but that certainly not work. for examples areas/views and themes/views that contain web.config also need to be updated with newer assembly version no.   After done these thing you can compile your project and it will be work as it should be Thanks for read my post.   • Extending QuickBooks Reporting with the QuickBooks ADO.NET Data Provider

    The ADO.NET Provider for QuickBooks comes with several reports you may request from QuickBooks by default. However, there are many more that are not readily available. The ADO.NET Provider for QuickBooks makes it easy for you to create new reports and customize existing ones. In this article, we will illustrate how to create your own report and retrieve it from the Server Explorer in Visual Studio. For this example we will show how to create an Item Profitability Report. Creating the report script file Step 1: Download the sample reports available here. Extract them to a folder of your choice. Step 2: Make a copy of the ReportGeneralSummary.rsd file and rename it to ItemProfitability.rsd. Then open the file in any text editor. Step 3: Open the installation directory of the ADO.NET Provider for QuickBooks. Under the \db\ folder, locate the ReportJob.rsb file. Open this file in another text editor. Note: Although we are using ReportJob.rsb for this example, other reports may be contained in other Report*.rsb files. We recommend consulting the included help file and first locating the Report stored procedure and ReportType you are looking for. Otherwise, you may open each Report*.rsb file and look under the "reporttype" input for the report you are attempting to create. Step 4: First, let's rename the title of ItemProfitability.rsd. Near the top of the file you will see a title and description. Change the title to match the name of the file. Change the description to anything you like. For example: <rsb:info title="ItemProfitability" description="Executes my custom report."> Just below the Title, there are a number of columns. The Id represents the row number. The RowType represents the type of data returned by QuickBooks. The ColumnValue* columns represent all of the column data returned by QuickBooks. In some instances, we may need to add additional ColumnValue columns. Step 5: To add additional ColumnValue columns, simply copy the last column, paste it directly below, and continue increasing the numerical value at end of the attribute name. For example: <attr name="ColumnValue9" xs:type="string" readonly="true" required="false" desc="Represents a column of data."/> <attr name="ColumnValue10" xs:type="string" readonly="true" required="false" desc="Represents a column of data."/> <attr name="ColumnValue11" xs:type="string" readonly="true" required="false" desc="Represents a column of data."/> <attr name="ColumnValue12" xs:type="string" readonly="true" required="false" desc="Represents a column of data."/> ... Caution: Do not rename the ColumnValue* definitions themselves. They are generalized so that we can understand each type of report returned by QuickBooks. Renaming them to something other than ColumnValue* will cause your columns to return with null values. Step 6: Now let's update the available inputs for the table. From the ReportJob.rsb file, copy all of the input elements into ItemProfitability under the "Psuedo-Column definitions" comment. You will be replacing the existing input elements in ItemProfitability with inputs from ReportJob. Supported date format: yyyy-MM-dd." /> <input name="reportdaterangemacro" description="Use a predefined date range." value="ALL,TODAY,THISWEEK,THISWEEKTODATE,THISMONTH,THISMONTHTODATE,THISQUARTER,THISQUARTERTODATE,THISYEAR,THISYEARTODATE,YESTERDAY,LASTWEEK,LASTWEEKTODATE,LASTMONTH,LASTMONTHTODATE,LASTQUARTER,LASTQUARTERTODATE,LASTYEAR,LASTYEARTODATE,NEXTWEEK,NEXTFOURWEEKS,NEXTMONTH,NEXTQUARTER,NEXTYEAR," default="ALL" /> ... Step 7: Now let's update the operationname attribute. This needs to match the same operationname used by ReportJob. After you have copied the correct value from ReportJob.rsb, the operationname in ItemProfitability should look like so: <rsb:set attr="operationname" value="qbReportJob"/> Step 8: There is one more thing we can do to make this a true Item Profitability report. We can remove the reporttype input and hardcode the value. To do this, copy and paste the rsb:set used for operationname. Then rename the attr and value to match the name and value you want to use. For example: <rsb:set attr="operationname" value="qbReportJob"/> <rsb:set attr="reporttype" value="ITEMPROFITABILITY"/> After this you can remove the input for reporttype. Now that you have your own report file, we can move on to displaying the report in the Visual Studio server explorer. Accessing the report through the Data Provider Step 1: Open Visual Studio. In the Server Explorer, configure a new connection with the QuickBooks Data Provider. Step 2: For the Location connection string property, enter the directory where the new report has been saved to. Step 3: The new report should appear as a new view in the Server Explorer. Let's retrieve data from it. Step 4: You can specify any inputs in the WHERE clause. New Report Example Script To help you get started using this new QuickBooks Data Provider report, you will need to download the QuickBooks ADO.NET Data Provider and the fully functional sample script.

    In the next few lines, I will be providing a brief review of Wrox’s Professional ASP.NET Design Patterns by Scott Millett. Design patterns have been a hot topic for many years as developers looked to do more with less, re-use as much code as possible by creating common libraries, as well as make their code easier to understand, extend and collaborate on. Scott Millett’s book covered classic and emerging patterns in a practical presentation that demonstrated with thorough examples how to put each pattern to use in the context of multi-tiered ASP.NET applications. The author’s unique approach and content earned him much kudos in the foreword by Scott Hanselman as well as online reviews. The book has 14 chapters of which 5 are dedicated to a comprehensive case study.   • postfix 5.7.1 Relay access denied when sending mail with cron

    Reluctant to ask because there is so much here about 'postfix relay access denied' but I cannot find my case: I use php (Zend Framework) to send emails outside my network using the Google mail server because I could not send mail outside my server (user: web). However when I sent out an email via cron (user: root, I believe), still using ZF, using the same mail config/credentials, I get the message: '5.7.1 Relay access denied' I guess I need to know one of two things: 1. How can I use the google smtp server from cron 2. What do I need to change in my config to send mail using my own server instead of google Though the answer to 2. is the more structural solution I assume, I am quite happy with an answer to 1. as well because I think Google is better at server maintaince (security/spam) than I am.
