  • Set up ECLIPSE IDE Path

    I'm still working on this problem: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2610469/java-runtime-command-line-process Based on what one of the contributors has said I tried the following: So I've tried adding the path to "gs" in my "Run Configurations" - Environment Tab and "Linked Resources" (Preferences - General - Workspace - Linked Resources). Neither has worked... But it's still not working, I'm getting the same error. Any other ideas? Because I'm all out.

  • JSplitPane giving wrong resize cursor with GTK LAF?

    Running the official JSplitPane demo http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/components/splitpane.html on my Ubuntu system gives a resize cursor like -- over the divider. The behavior of native split panes gives <-- resize cursors. Does this qualify as a bug that should be reported to Sun (eh, Oracle)? Is there a workaround?

    In my bytecode instrumentation project, I stumble frequently on VerifyErrors. However, the default java Verifier gives little information on which instruction resulted in the error (it only gives the method and a small message). Is there any stand-alone bytecode verifier which provides with a little more advanced help in locating the error, at least the precise instruction location? Thank you.

    Over the years, I've tried to avoid instanceof whenever possible. Using polymorphism or the visitor pattern where applicable. I suppose it simply eases maintenance in some situations... Are there any other drawbacks that one should be aware of? I do however see it here and there in the Java libraries so I suppose it has its place? Under what circumstances is it preferable? Is it ever unavoidable?

Using java via dalvik JVM. im fretting over a decision to represent objects in a particular map. should i use an id based map (2 dimensional integer array) and place game logic in a separate function in the game engine, or create an object array (2 dimensional array of game objects) and store game logic within the class methods. i am thinking about the cost of object creation and garbage collection vs extensibility.

    I want to implement a Custom logger which logs all log entries to a Database. Currently my app logs this way (slf4j and log4j binding): private static final Logger logger = LoggerFactory.getLogger( MyClass.class ); I'm not sure how to proceed. My Idea is to implement a Custom Logging binding through implementing the org.slf4j.Logger Interface What would be the next steps?   • Adding Polynomials (Linked Lists)......Bug Help

    I have written a program that creates nodes that in this class are parts of polynomials and then the two polynomials get added together to become one polynomial (list of nodes). All my code compiles so the only problem I am having is that the nodes are not inserting into the polynomial via the insert method I have in polynomial.java and when running the program it does create nodes and displays them in the 2x^2 format but when it comes to add the polynomials together it displays o as the polynomials, so if anyone can figure out whats wrong and what I can do to fix it it would be much appreciated.   • Is it possible to deploy a SOAP server with Axis without using WSDD?

    In the project I am working I have deployed a SOAP server using Deployment Descriptors (WSDD) files. To do that a webserver (e.g tomcat, jetty) is started and then the following command is executed: java -cp %AXISCLASSPATH% org.apache.axis.client.AdminClient deploy.wsdd What I need is to skip the above command to avoid a call to the Axis AdminClient. Is it possible to deploy my webservice as war file? Note: A solution with JWS can't be used due to its limitations.
