Everything is fine except i need to modify the OnGetItem(string id) to accept an additional parameter such that the URI becomes http://localhost/service.svc/1/5 where 1 = department id and 5 = employee id I can see the ICollectionService within the abstract class collection service base protected abstract TItem OnGetItem(string id); but I am not allowed to modify it. Does anyone have any ideas has to how I can make such a simple addition? Thanks in advance

  • JSF Navigation issue Facelets and Beans

    Hi, I have an issue with navigation in my simple jsf system. I have MainBean that has two methods: public String register() and public String login(). I have played with faces-config.xml for several hours and I feel like I miss something very important because I think like I have tried all simple solutions so far :). I have added the mysql connector (jdbc) to Tomcat's lib folder and I am able to register the table to mySQL databse. It even allows my users to log in to the page. The only problem is that I can't use navigation in any other page than login.xhtml. Seems like navigation is only active on this one. I tried to use * but is no joy. I am sure that there is a simple fix for that and someone will come up with correct solution soon. Let's skip all the mysql part and try to fix the navigation issue please. faces-config.xml: http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee/web-facesconfig_1_2.xsd" version="1.2" com.sun.facelets.FaceletViewHandler mainBean dk.itu.beans.MainBean session registerBean dk.itu.beans.RegisterBean session /login.xhtml success /welcome.xhtml failure /login_failed.xhtml sign /register.xhtml /login_failed.xhtml back /login.xhtml Here the last navigation-rule from login_failed.xhtml does not work at all. login.xhtml (which is the main - starting view): login_failed.xhtml: Here I tried many options. I used action="#{mainBean.register})" method that returns "sign" string and none of these worked. There is one more file (not specified in faces-config.xml file, because did not work either - but going from login.xhtml by button works fine. I tried to manage navigation from login_failed.xhtml first, then I will apply the same rool for registration to come back to login page when customer registers his nick name). register.xhtml: Basicaly mainBean.register now calls the database and returns string, but obviously it doesn't navigate to any view (but gives an entry to database). I believe it is simple fix for most of the experienced web developers and any help will be greately appreciated. I use eclipse, tomcat 6 and Widows Vista if that helps :) Thank you in advance.     Hi All, I will restrict this to the three tables I am trying to work with Problem, Communications, and ProbComms. The scenario is that a Student may have many Problems concurrently which may affect their studies. Lecturers may have future communications with a student after an initial problem is logged, however as a Student may have multiple Problems the Lecturer may decide that the discussion they had is related to more than one Problem. The LINQ I am using for ProbComms is This is located in the Model class ProbCommRepository, and accessed via a IProbCommRepository interface: public IQueryable<ProbComm> FindAllProblemComms(string studentEmail) { return (from p in db.ProbComms where p.Problem.StudentEmail.Equals(studentEmail) orderby p.Problem.ProblemDateTime select p); } However for example if I have this data in the ProbComms table: ProblemID CommunicationID 1 1 1 2 The query returns two rows so I assume I somehow have to groupby Problem or ProblemID but I am not too sure how to do this with the way I have built things as the return type has to be ProbComm for the query as thats what Model class its located in.   • Why are there connections open to my databases?

    I have a program that stores user projects as databases. Naturally, the program should allow the user to create and delete the databases as they need to. When the program boots up, it looks for all the databases in a specific SQLServer instance that have the structure the program is expecting. These database are then loaded into a listbox so the user can pick one to open as a project to work on. When I try to delete a database from the program, I always get an SQL error saying that the database is currently open and the operation fails. I've determined that the code that checks for the databases to load is causing the problem. I'm not sure why though, because I'm quite sure that all the connections are being properly closed. Here are all the relevant functions. After calling BuildProjectList, running "DROP DATABASE database_name" from ExecuteSQL fails with the message: "Cannot drop database because it is currently in use".     After trying many solutions listed on the internet I am very confused now. I have a C#/SQL web application for which I am simply trying to bind an ExecuteReader command to a Dropdownlist so the user can select a value. This is a VS2008 project on an XP OS. How it works is after the user selects a table, I use this selection as an input parameter to a method from my Datamatch.aspx.cs file. Then this Datamatch.aspx.cs file calls a method from my ADONET.cs class file. Finally this method executes a SQL procedure to return the list of columns from that table. (These are all tables in Adventureworks DB). I know that this method returns successfully the list of columns if I execute this SP in SSMS. However, I'm not sure how to tell if it works in VS or not. This should be simple. How can I do this? Here is some of my code.   • Parsing RFC 2822 date in JAVA

    I need to parse an RFC 2822 string representation of a date in Java. An example string is here: Sat, 13 Mar 2010 11:29:05 -0800 It looks pretty nasty so I wanted to make sure I was doing everything right and would run into weird problems later with the date being interpreted wrong either through AM-PM/Military time problems, UTC time problems, problems I don't anticipate, etc...
