  I have this code in the end of link button click: Response.ContentType = "application/zip"; Response.AppendHeader("content-disposition", "attachment; filename=download.zip"); Response.TransmitFile(Server.MapPath("download.zip")); Response.End(); to download a zip file from an aspx page. In the previous page i set a session variable, after going to this download page and download the file, then press back i find the session=null "this happen after downloading more than 1 time", and the application_end in global.ascx called. Do you know why this may happen??

• How to download media content on demand and reuse from browser cache in silverlight

  Hi. I have a problem with simple silverlight app, this app has a couple of buttons, each button sets mediaelement source to a short mp3 file and plays it, my problem is that when i press the same button second time it re-downloads mp3 file again but i think it shouldn't, instead it should use a copy of browser cached mp3 file that was downloaded when a button was pressed for the first time. I'm using sl4 and links in mediaelement are just simple uri's, i need to make it working in this way that when some mp3 was downloaded it will be cached on the client browser and further click on button will use a cached version of file instead of downloading it again and wasting my bandwidth. Any ideas ?

• jQuery in sharepoint retruning Object Expected

  When I add jquery to sharepoint 2007 (MOSS) and try and use it on a page no matter what I write on the client i get an "object expected" at the line/column where the "$" appears. I have used fiddler to check that the client is downloading the query JS (which it is) But its like its being ignore and therefor eth "$" is not understood. Searching google everybody is saying its the selector not finding the elements but see code below I do not see how it can not find my very simple example. • Getting a .Net remoting service accessible with IP v6 and IP v4

  My company has an existing .Net Remoting service that listens on a port, fronting interfaces used by external systems. This all works great with IP v4 based communications. However, this service now needs to support both IP v4 communications and IP v6 communications. I have found info that the system.runtime.remoting section of the app.config should include two channels as follows: <channel ref="tcp" name="tcp6" port="9000" bindTo="[::]" /> <channel ref="tcp" name="tcp4" port="9000" bindTo="0.0.0.0" /> I've tried this. For communications to this service and a direct response back, this works great. Some of the communications instead return a stream back, either for uploading or downloading large files. These calls fail with the an ArgumentException: IPv4 address 0.0.0.0 and IPv6 address ::0 are unspecified addresses that cannot be used as a target address. Parameter name: hostNameOrAddress How should these config values be modified so that the client will know how to communicate back to the .Net remoting service?

• How to unit test asynchronous APIs?

  Hi all. I have installed Google Toolbox for Mac (http://code.google.com/p/google-toolbox-for-mac/) into Xcode and followed the instructions to set up unit testing found here (http://code.google.com/p/google-toolbox-for-mac/wiki/iPhoneUnitTesting). It all works great, and I can test my synchronous methods on all my objects absolutely fine. However, most of the complex APIs I actually want to test return results asynchronously via calling a method on a delegate - for example a call to a file download and update system will return immediately and then run a -fileDownloadDidComplete: method when the file finishes downloading. How would I test this as a unit test? It seems like I'd want to the testDownload function, or at least the test framework to 'wait' for fileDownloadDidComplete: method to run. Any ideas much appreciated!

• Why would HTTP transfer via wget be faster than lftp/pget?

  I'm building software that needs to do massive amounts of file transfer via both HTTP and FTP. Often times, I get faster HTTP download with a multi-connection download accelerator like axel or lftp with pget. In some cases, I've seen 2x-3x faster file transfer using something like: axel http://example.com/somefile or lftp -e 'pget -n 5 http://example.com/somefile;quit' vs. just using wget: wget http://example.com/somefile But other times, wget is significantly faster than lftp. Strangly, this is even true even when I do lftp with get, like so: lftp -e 'pget -n 1 http://example.com/somefile;quit' I understand that downloading a file via multiple connections won't always result in a speedup, depending on how bandwidth is constrained. But: why would it be slower? Especially when calling lftp/pget with -n 1?

• Debugging ASP.NET Strings Downloaded to Browser (Montréal instead of Montréal)

  I'm downloading a vCard to the browser using Response.Write to output .NET strings with special accented characters. Mime type is text/x-vcard and French characters are appearing wrong in Outlook, for example Montréal;Québec .NET string shows as Montréal Québec in browser. I'm using this vCard generator code from CodeProject.com I've played with the System.Encoding sample code at the bottom of this linked MSDN page to convert the unicode string into bytes and then write the ascii bytes but then I get Montr?al Qu?bec (progress but not a win). Also I've tried setting content type to both us-ascii and utf-8 of the response. If I open the downloaded vCard in Windows Notepad and save it as ANSI text (instead of default unicode format) and open in Outlook it's okay. So my assumption is I need to cause download of ANSI charset but am unsure if I'm doing it wrong or have a misunderstanding of where to start. Update: Looking at the raw HTTP, it appears my French characters are being downloaded in the unexpected format so it looks like I need to do some work on the server side... (full size)

  I'm trying to install the php extension OAuth in my local environment. php.net suggests it's super easy. You just run pecl install oauth. • Does Multiple NSURLConnection make delay of performance?

  Hi all~. I made a multi files downloader. I implemented NSURLConnection using NSOperationQueue. NSOpetationQueue has many NSURLConnection operations. and, set MaxConcurrentOperationCount to 10. I thought my code is right, But after run the project, it was wrong. there are some connection error has occured. files url were right. and file download was completed. but downloading files, occur "timed out" error. It is so serious. I tested it with 8 files, and those total size is only 3M. But total download time is 2minutes ~!!! one file download spends only a few second. (2~3 s) but multi files download occur many overburden!! (2 minutes) I don't know why it is... Do Anyone know what reason is?

• onload Event in embedded SVG not calling function in attached script. Scope Issue?

  Hi So I've got an XHTML page with a script - not inline > <script type="text/javascript" > src="../global/js/scripts.js"></script> and an embedded (I tried embed and object, same behavior) SVG document with a onload="CheckIfLoaded(evt)" attribute. The problem is firefox doesn't call the CheckIfLoaded() function in scripts.js. Firebug gives me "CheckIfLoaded() is not defined" with no reference to any line numbers. I can't find any information regarding the scope of javascript functions with respect to embedded content. Curiously, it works fine in IE. I could of course add a reference to the script into the SVG file as well but I believe that will result in the client downloading the scripts file twice and in addition I have 1000+ svg files and I'd really rather not add one line to all of them, although I suppose I could write a batch file or whatever if I have to.   I'm getting an error whilst trying to install psycopg2 on ubuntu 9.10 64 bit. The error is: >>> import psycopg2 Traceback (most recent call last): File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module> File "psycopg2/__init__.py", line 69, in <module> from _psycopg import BINARY, NUMBER, STRING, DATETIME, ROWID ImportError: psycopg2/_psycopg.so: undefined symbol: PyUnicodeUCS2_Decode I've tried downloading the package from http://initd.org/pub/software/psycopg/ and installing it. I've tried by using easy_install too. No error during the installation. It's quite weird as my python (2.6.2) has been compiled with UCS4 and so the installation should just work without problems.   I'm writing this knowing there's another topic like this to be found here the answer provided however does not make much sense to me and whatever I tried doesn't seem to work so I'm seeking clarification. The situation is as follows: * New CRM 2011 toolkit solution * New project added for Xaml workflow * Adding CRM "Workflow" activity causes error The error: It shows a redbox "Could not generate view for Workflow" The Exception: System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. --- System.IO.IOException: Cannot locate resource 'workflowdesigner.xaml' I have VS 2012 SP2 with the latest (June) CRM SDK Toolkit installed. I did a clean install of the toolkit so it's not "upgraded" to prevent any old assemblies being referenced. I tried the things from the referenced question and moved the assemblies over and also re-referenced the latest assemblies to make sure everything works fine. I also tried downloading a workflow XAML created in CRM and opening but it gives the same error. I also opened the "example" workflow XAML solution in the SDK, again same result.

• Why can't I download a whole image file with urllib2.urlopen()

  When I run the following code, it only seems to be downloading the first little bit of the file and then exiting. Occassionally, I will get a 10054 error, but usually it just exits without getting the whole file. My internet connection is crappy wireless, and I often get broken downloads on larger files in firefox, but my browser has no problem getting a 200k image file. • PHP File unreadable after being downloaded

  Hi I have a script that creates a file and stores it on the server. The file is encoded in UTF-8 and is a kind of xml file for the cmap software. If i open the file directly from the server then there is no problem and the file can be read. I am forcing a download of this file when a user goes to a specific url. After such a download, the file is unreadable by the cmap software. I have to go into my text editor (notepad++) and change the encoding from UTF-8 to UTF-8 without BOM. Am I sending the wrong headers? Is php doing something to the file when it is downloading it? Any advice on this would really be appreciated. Cheers Drew

  For what I've read I need Python-Dev, how do I install it on OSX? I think the problem I have, is, my Xcode was not properly installed, and I don't have the paths where I should.   I would like to deep link directly to a GWT app page within a Facebook iFrame Canvas. The first part is simple using GWT's History token with URLs like: http://www.example.com/MyApp/#page1 which would open page1 within my app. Facebook Apps use an application url like: http://apps.facebook.com/myAppName which frames my Canvas Callback URL http://www.example.com/MyApp/ Is there a way to specify a canvas callback url (or bookmark url) which will take the user to a specific page rather than the index page? Why? you may ask. Besides all the benefits of deep links... I want the "Go To Application" url to take users to an index page w/ marketing material (the canvas callback url) I want the "Bookmark URL" to take (likely returning) users to a login page and bypass downloading the marketing content (and that huge SWF file).

• Basic XStream Annotations

  Hello, I just started using XStream Annotations, and I am trying to figure out how to associate the annotations with the XStream object. From the documentation, it seems like this is the accepted method: XStream xstream = new XStream(new DomDriver()); xstream.processAnnotations(AnnotatedClass.class); My problem with this is that Eclipse isn't recognizing this as a valid method. Everything seems to be configured correctly in Eclipse because it shows me the rest of the methods that are in the XStream object. It's almost like Eclipse thinks it's an older version of xstream. I've tried running a Project Clean inside of Eclipse but that didn't fix anything. I've also tried downloading the XStream jar again which didn't help either. Versions: XStream 1.3.1, Eclipse 3.4, Java 6 Has anybody seen this strange behavior before, or have any ideas on how to fix it?

• Memory management, and async operations: when does an object become nil?

  I have a view that will be displaying downloaded images and text. I'd like to handle all the downloading asynchronously using ASIHTTPRequest, but I'm not sure how to go about notifying the view when downloads are finished... If I pass my view controller as the delegate of the ASIHTTPRequest, and then my view is destroyed (user navigates away) will it fail gracefully when it tries to message my view controller because the delegate is now nil? i.e. if i do this: UIViewController *myvc = [[UIViewController alloc] init]; request.delegate = myvc; [myvc release]; Do myvc, and request.delegate now == a pointer to nil? This is the problem with being self-taught... I'm kinda fuzzy on some basic concepts. Other ideas of how to handle this are welcome.
