• C# Modify Connection String that exists inside a library

  I have a Class Library, which inside just has a DataSet (MySQL connector) and a Connector class. I use this class in multiple projects to connect to the database, and I always had the password embedded in the connection string but now I need to be able to modify this string(for security purposes) so I can have the user connect using their own account. How can I modify this connection string. I have tried the following Properties.Settings.Default.DataBaseConnectionString = "String"; But it seems that the connection string is readonly becase it doesn't appear to have a setter value. I also tried the following with no luck Properties.Settings.Default.DatabaseConnectionString.Insert( Properties.Settings.Default.DatabaseConnectionConnectionString.Length - 1, "Password=dbpassword;");

• Matlab multiple graph types inside one graph

  I'm embarrassed that I'm asking this question, but here I go: Suppose you have the following function foo. When I'm running a for loop, I'd like it to skip the remainder of foo when foo initially returns the value of 0. However, break doesn't work when it's inside a function. As it's currently written, I get an error message, no loop to break from, jumping to top level.   I've created a custom UITypeEditor. Can I possibly insert an attribute that also attaches a TypeConverter to my property from inside the UITypeEditor class? I've tried the following, but nothing happens, no matter how I twist and turn it: Attribute[] newAttributes = new Attribute[1]; newAttributes[0] = new TypeConverterAttribute(typeof(BooleanConverter)); Now, the above needs to have the following attached to it somehow: TypeDescriptor.AddAttributes(context.Instance.PROPERTYNAME, newAttributes); ...but first of all I don't know how to get to the property in question in a generic way, and all code I try just fails. Even if I try to assign the TypeConverter in this manner globally, it fails. (Setting it as an attribute on the property itself works though, just to rule out that the bug is in that part.)

• call a class method from inside an instance method from a module mixin (rails)

  Curious how one would go about calling a class method from inside an instance method of a module which is included by an active record class.   There is a default submit button for the @FileUpload.GetHtml. But I am expecting to have a submit button inside the Html begin form and use that substitution to submit the list of files with some more parameters. But when I do that the passing IEnumerable is always null in the Action method. • UIToolbar above UIWebView inside UIScrollView

  I'd like to display a toolbar above a UIWebView but hide the toolbar until the person "pulls it down". The same functionality can be seen in Safari on the iPhone. When the page loads, the toolbar containing the address is hidden. You must pull it down. In Safari it's possible to scroll up and eventually see the toolbar or scroll down through the page contents. I've tried placing a UIToolbar and UIWebView inside a UIScrollView but it didn't work. I've tried setting the UIScrollView to the size of the toolbar and webview combined, but that didn't work. - (void)viewDidLoad{ CGSize size = CGSizeMake(webView.frame.size.width, toolBar.frame.size.height + webView.frame.size.height); [scrollView setContentSize:size]; } How should I go about doing this?

  Hi, Inspired by this post, I'm trying to use a TreeView inside the AutoCompleteBox's popup in order to show hierarchical data. Here's what i did: I Made my own TreeView that implements ISelectionAdapter (not sure it's perfect) Edit AutoCompleteBox template and change the selector to my treeview Try Bind my ViewModel to it Unfortunately this is not working. i checked my new TreeView with the same binding to the same object and it works prefectly when it's outside of a AutoCompleteBox template. Any idea? any special way to implement ISelectionAdapter for treeview? did i missed something? couldn't find any example for it on the web... Thanks.

• Apply Button() to an element inside a variable

  If have a variable data = '<div>... <button id="remember"> ... </button> ...</div>', is it possible to apply the .button(); method to a button inside that variable? I've tried the following: $('#remember', data).button(); but that doesn't work. After that i just do $(data).dialog();, which works. I've come with a workaround and that's to append the variable data to the document, call the .button() and then call the .dialog(), but appending and removing dialog's divs on the document doesn't seems right.

  I had a need to declare a union inside a structure as defined below: struct MyStruct { int m_DataType; DWORD m_DataLen; union theData { char m_Buff [_MAX_PATH]; struct MyData m_myData; } m_Data; }; Initially, I tried accessing the union data as follows (before I added the m_Data declaration): MyStruct m_myStruct; char* pBuff = m_myStruct.theData::m_Buff; This compiles but returns to pBuff a pointer to the beginning of the MyStruct structure which caused me to overwrite the m_DataType & m_DataLength members when I thought I was writing to the m_Buff buffer. I am using Visual Studio 2008. Can anyone explain this unexpected behavior? Thanks.

• Force chart labels to remain inside frame

  RS2008 - pie chart I have 'outside' labels with lines pointing to the segment (although strangely this only appears to work in pdf output) However (see pic below) the label is appearing outside the scope of the chart area How can I force it to remain inside? (MinimumRelativePieSize is set to 70) (pic below missing due to not being able to find an image host that isn't blocked by corp firewall) Picture a pie chart of 25 slices, with radial lines that project through the sides. The line from each slice then becomes horizontal, before disappearing outside. (above actually fits tune of "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds")

  I know Silverlight 4 can handle elevated permissions outside the browser. Is there a way to accomplish this inside the browser? I need to make a folder/file upload manager that gives a better user experience than the standard , and I'd like to implement it in Silverlight. I know Java has an option to gain elevated permissions, but you have to attach a signed certificate to your app. Does Silverlight 4 have a similar option - to gain elevated permissions by attaching a signed certificate (after warning the user, of course)? -Doug

• How to stop SWF inside of a jQuery UI tab from reloading

  I have a SWF movie inside of a jQuery UI tab, and the problem I'm having is that the SWF gets reloaded everytime I click away from the tab, onto another tab, and then click back. I can inspect the DOM and see that the div containing the SWF is still in the DOM when I click away, so I don't know why this it seems to reload it when I click back to the tab. I added the following CSS rules to try to prevent the display being set to: none, but the Flash movie is still reloading: .ui-tabs .ui-tabs-hide { display: block !important; position: absolute; left: -10000px; }

• jquery UI portlet inside tab - out of boundary problem

  I am using jquery UI tab, and one of the tab panels contains the UI portlets. • View controllers inside tab bar controller not auto-resizing on rotation

  (Correction: the view controllers are not auto-resizing instead of not auto-rotating.) In an iPad app, I have five regular view controllers (not navigation controllers or anything like that) inside a tab bar controller. The tab bar controller is just a plain UITabBarController declared in the app delegate. All the view controllers return YES in the shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation method. On both the simulator and device, on rotation, the tab bar and the current view controller rotate but the currently selected view controller (call it A) does not resize properly. It keeps its portrait width and height (but it is rotated). If I switch to another view controller B and then back to A (without rotating the device again), A appears correctly resized. This happens with any of the five view controllers Why doesn't the currently selected view controller resize immediately on rotation and how do I fix it? Thanks.
