  • WebService doesn't read web.config

    - by phenevo
    Hi, I've got 3 connectionstrings in web.config, and I used theirs like this: using (SqlConnection connection = new SqlConnection(ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["SomeName"].ConnectionString)) Every metgod is called by winforms application. One of webmethods doesn't work properly because it reads only one connectionString: data source=.\\SQLEXPRESS;Integrated Security=SSPI;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|aspnetdb.mdf;User Instance=true It's not a connectionString from my web.config . I invoke every method in the same way. How it's impossible ??

  • Must read books for a programming team leader

    - by takeshin
    As a programming team leader, which books do you recommend? Books about HR, good programming practices etc. I have recently seen PHP Team Development but it is not mind blowing for experienced developers. One of the best I can recommend is Microsoft Manual of Style for Technical Publications, which helped me a lot in improving the language and practices of documenting the code.

  • libpng cannot read an image properly

    - by jonathanasdf
    Here is my function... I don't know why it's not working. The resulting image looks nothing like what the .png looks like. But there's no errors either. bool Bullet::read_png(std::string file_name, int pos) { png_structp png_ptr; png_infop info_ptr; FILE *fp; if ((fp = fopen(file_name.c_str(), "rb")) == NULL) { return false; } png_ptr = png_create_read_struct(PNG_LIBPNG_VER_STRING, NULL, NULL, NULL); if (png_ptr == NULL) { fclose(fp); return false; } info_ptr = png_create_info_struct(png_ptr); if (info_ptr == NULL) { fclose(fp); png_destroy_read_struct(&png_ptr, NULL, NULL); return false; } if (setjmp(png_jmpbuf(png_ptr))) { png_destroy_read_struct(&png_ptr, &info_ptr, NULL); fclose(fp); return false; } png_init_io(png_ptr, fp); png_read_png(png_ptr, info_ptr, PNG_TRANSFORM_STRIP_16 | PNG_TRANSFORM_SWAP_ALPHA | PNG_TRANSFORM_EXPAND, NULL); png_uint_32 width = png_get_image_width(png_ptr, info_ptr); png_uint_32 height = png_get_image_height(png_ptr, info_ptr); imageData[pos].width = width; imageData[pos].height = height; png_bytepp row_pointers; row_pointers = png_get_rows(png_ptr, info_ptr); imageData[pos].data = new unsigned int[width*height]; for (unsigned int i=0; i < height; ++i) { memcpy(&imageData[pos].data[i*width], &row_pointers[i], width*sizeof(unsigned int)); } png_destroy_read_struct(&png_ptr, &info_ptr, NULL); fclose(fp); for (unsigned int i=0; i < height; ++i) { for (unsigned int j=0; j < width; ++j) { unsigned int val = imageData[pos].data[i*width+j]; if (val != 0) { unsigned int a = ((val >> 24)); unsigned int r = (((val - (a << 24)) >> 16)); unsigned int g = (((val - (a << 24) - (r << 16)) >> 8)); unsigned int b = (((val - (a << 24) - (r << 16) - (g << 8)))); // for debugging std::string s(AS3_StringValue(AS3_Int(i*width+j))); s += " "; s += AS3_StringValue(AS3_Int(val)); s += " "; s += AS3_StringValue(AS3_Int(a)); s += " "; s += AS3_StringValue(AS3_Int(r)); s += " "; s += AS3_StringValue(AS3_Int(g)); s += " "; s += AS3_StringValue(AS3_Int(b)); AS3_Trace(AS3_String(s.c_str())); } } } return true; } ImageData is just a simple struct to keep x, y, width, and height, and imageData is an array of that struct. struct ImageData { int x; int y; int width; int height; unsigned int* data; }; Here is a side by side screenshot of the input and output graphics (something I made in a minute for testing), and this was after setting alpha to 255 in order to make it show up (because the alpha I was getting back was 1). Left side is original, right side is what happened after reading it through this function. Scaled up 400% for visibility.   • Cut off text before read more

    - by koko
    I have texts that most of the time fit in a div, but sometimes it doesn't fit. There is no way to determine how many characters/words/paragraphs fit in the div, so I can't cut it off that way. The div had a fixed height and width, so can we do something with that? Or do you have any suggestion how to get everything in the div, the correct way?

  • Visualizing read-only folders

    - by Paul-Jan
    My application displays a folder structure in a tree. The user can browse the contents in these folders, and drag content into the folders. However, some of these folders are readonly (meaning no content can be dragged into them). I'm looking for a clear way of depicting this to the user, so they are aware which folders they can drag to before actually having to try it, i.e. hover state. Something not too alarming or interrupting (no big red crosses overlayed on top of the folder icons, for instance), preferably a recognized standard. Specifically, we are talking about an Outlook add-in showing a SharePoint folder tree here, but I'd much rather get the answer from a generic viewpoint. From the top of my head, I simply don't seem to know any applications that visually mark readonly folders.

The url is something like ldap://ldapservername:389/ I would like to pass the userid/Name as the parameter and hope to retrieve the Full Name, Email address etc. Can you please provide suggestions regarding implementing this? A Windows specific solution is also fine with me.

  • Can't read from RSOP_RegistryPolicySetting WMI class in root\RSOP namespace

    - by JCCyC
    The class is documented in http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa375050%28VS.85%29.aspx And from this page it seems it's not an abstract class: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa375084%28VS.85%29.aspx But whenever I run the code below I get an "Invalid Class" exception in ManagementObjectSearcher.Get(). So, does this class exist or not? ManagementScope scope; ConnectionOptions options = new ConnectionOptions(); options.Username = tbUsername.Text; options.Password = tbPassword.Password; options.Authority = String.Format("ntlmdomain:{0}", tbDomain.Text); scope = new ManagementScope(String.Format("\\\\{0}\\root\\RSOP", tbHost.Text), options); scope.Connect(); ManagementObjectSearcher searcher = new ManagementObjectSearcher(scope, new ObjectQuery("SELECT * FROM RSOP_RegistryPolicySetting")); foreach (ManagementObject queryObj in searcher.Get()) { wmiResults.Text += String.Format("id={0}\n", queryObj["id"]); wmiResults.Text += String.Format("precedence={0}\n", queryObj["precedence"]); wmiResults.Text += String.Format("registryKey={0}\n", queryObj["registryKey"]); wmiResults.Text += String.Format("valueType={0}\n", queryObj["valueType"]); } In the first link above, it lists as a requirement something called a "MOF": "Rsopcls.mof". Is this something I should have but have not? How do I obtain it? Is it necessary in the querying machine or the queried machine? Or both? I do have two copies of this file: C:\Windows>dir rsop*.mof /s Volume in drive C has no label. • Java: CSV file read & write.

    - by battousai622
    Im reading in 2 csv file: store_inventory & new_acquisitions... I want to be able to compare the store_inventory csv file with new_acquisitions. 1) If the item names match just update the quantity in store_inventory. 2) If new_acquisitions has a new item that does not exist in store_inventory, then add it to the store_inventory. Heres what i have so far but its not very good. I added comments where i need to add taks 1) & 2). Any advice or code would be great, thanks. File new_acq = new File("/src/test/new_acquisitions.csv"); Scanner acq_scan = null; try { acq_scan = new Scanner(new_acq); } catch (FileNotFoundException ex) { Logger.getLogger(mainpage.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex); } String itemName; int quantity; Double cost; Double price; File store_inv = new File("/src/test/store_inventory.csv"); Scanner invscan = null; try { invscan = new Scanner(store_inv); } catch (FileNotFoundException ex) { Logger.getLogger(mainpage.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex); } String itemNameInv; int quantityInv; Double costInv; Double priceInv; while (acq_scan.hasNext()) { String line = acq_scan.nextLine(); if (line.charAt(0) == '#') { continue; } String[] split = line.split(","); itemName = split[0]; quantity = Integer.parseInt(split[1]); cost = Double.parseDouble(split[2]); price = Double.parseDouble(split[3]); while(invscan.hasNext()) { String line2 = invscan.nextLine(); if (line2.charAt(0) == '#') { continue; } String[] split2 = line2.split(","); itemNameInv = split2[0]; quantityInv = Integer.parseInt(split2[1]); costInv = Double.parseDouble(split2[2]); priceInv = Double.parseDouble(split2[3]); if(itemName == itemNameInv) { //update quantity } } //add new entry into csv file } Thanks again for any help. =]

  • Read line comments in INI file

    - by Dave Jarvis
    The parse_ini_file function removes comments in configuration files. What would you do to keep the comments that are associated with the next line? For example: [email] ; Verify that the email's domain has a mail exchange (MX) record. validate_domain = true Am thinking of using X(HT)ML and XSLT to transform the content into an INI file (so that the documentation and options can be single sourced). For example: <h1>email</h1> <p>Verify that the email's domain has a mail exchange (MX) record.</p> <dl> <dt>validate_domain</dt> <dd>true</dd> </dl> Any other ideas?

    Hello I have the following code implemented on C++(Linux) to check on my listening socket and stdin using select. select however keeps returning -1 no matter what I try to do! What's wrong with that code :s I will appreciate any help. Thanks highsock = m_sock; //listening socket memset((char *) &connectlist, 0, sizeof(connectlist)); memset((char *) &socks, 0, sizeof(socks)); int readsocks; struct timeval timeout; timeout.tv_sec = 60; timeout.tv_usec = 0; while (1) { updateSelectList(); //cout << "highest sock: " << highsock << endl; tempreadset = readset; readsocks = select(highsock+1, &tempreadset, NULL, NULL, &timeout); //cout << "# ready: " << readsocks << endl; if (readsocks < 0) { if (errno == EINTR) continue; cout << "select error" << endl; } if (readsocks > 0) { readFromSocks(); } } void readFromSocks() { if (FD_ISSET(STDIN, &readset)) { ... } else if (FD_ISSET(m_sock, &readset)) { ... } } void updateSelectList() { FD_ZERO(&readset); FD_SET(STDIN, &readset); FD_SET(m_sock, &readset); for (int i=0; i<MAXCONNECTIONS; i++) { if (connectlist[i] != 0) { FD_SET(connectlist[i], &readset); if (connectlist[i] > highsock) highsock = connectlist[i]; } } highsock = max(max(m_sock, STDIN), highsock); }

  • How can I read this IIS error log?

    - by Victor Rodrigues
    I'm using Debug Diagnostic Tool, trying to understand why around 5% of the requests that are sent to my webservice just crash, without necessarily throw any error inside my application. One of the errors this tool took is below. Can anyone here understand exactly what could be happening? Thanks! • Reading a .dat file as "rb" read binary

    - by donpal
    I have a web-accessible php script that accesses a folder above the webroot (not web accessible) called \folder\. This is done via setting the path to \folder\ in .htaccess the usual way so that \folder\ becomes part of the project. \folder\ contains a .php script (communicates with the web-accessible script inside the webroot) some .inc files (used by the .php in the same folder, above the webroot) a dat file (used by the .inc in the same folder, above the webroot) All files are accessible to each other as needed: the web-accessible php inside the webroot can communicate with the php above the webroot the php above the webroot can communicate with the inc in the same folder But the inc above the webroot can't communicate with the dat in the same folder, and I have no idea why that's the case The inc myinc.inc is supposed to open the dat mydat.dat in the same folder like this fopen('mydat.dat', "rb"); but I get an error that no file called mydat.dat exists inside \folder\myinc.inc. Of course it does not, the .dat is sibling to .inc and is not supposed to be inside it. Why is php expecting to find the .dat file inside the .inc. The stranger thing is that if I move the .dat in the web-accessible folder, it becomes readable now. Any ideas why php is trying to find the .dat inside the .inc?

  • Read / write program in Java using JFileChooser

    - by Casper Marcussen
    Didn't want to bother people in here, but since I am under a time pressure, I am desperate to get help. My questions is how to link the file choosen from a JFileChooser to a file, and how to convert it to string being able to display and edit it in a TextArea. I have the GUI set up using swing, but the link between actionListener and the JFileChooser is not complete. Any help would be much appreciated. Code: http://pastebin.com/p3fb17Wi EDIT: I found this program, that does pretty much what i wanted to, but it does not allow me to save the actual file : http://www.java-forums.org/new-java/8856-how-get-content-text-file-write-jtextarea.html

  • Read a variable from a variable cookie jquerycookie.

    - by Ozaki
    TLDR How could I tell "page.html" which one of 3 or so cookies to look at when the cookie is set on the previous page? Currently: When a link is clicked save text of link to cookie When "page.html" is loaded get the value of the cookie Loads the getjson call as per value of the cookie. E.g: <a href="page.html">link1</a> -c1 <a href="page.html">link2</a> -c2 <a href="page.html">link3</a> -c3 See previous discussion here Now that is all good and well apart from the fact if I were to say open them in multiple tabs. It changes the cookie and correctly loads the right data. But if I were to refresh one of these tabs it will load the most recently open data rather than what it should be. So if I were to save a cookie as c1 with a value of link1 c2 with a value of link2 c3 with a value of link3 How could I tell "page.html" which cookie it should be looking at, therefore not breaking the back/forward/refresh buttons on the browser when multiple tabs are open?

  • Bash script "read" not pausing for user input when executed from SSH shell

    - by Aaron Hancock
    I'm new to Bash scripting, so please be gentle. I'm connected to a Ubuntu server via SSH (PuTTY) and when I run this command, I expect the bash script that downloads and executes to allow user input and then echo that input. It seems to just write out the echo label for the input request and terminate. wget -O - https://raw.github.com/aaronhancock/pub/master/bash/readtest.sh | bash Any clue what I might be doing wrong? UPDATE: This bash command does exactly what I wanted bash <(wget -q -O - https://raw.github.com/aaronhancock/pub/master/bash/readtest.sh)
