Loop results executing twice

I creating a simple site with PHP where the users can submit blogs and other users (who are logged in) can post comments on them. I have made a link called "comments" below each blog that when clicked will show / hide all the comments relevant to the specific blog (also if the user is logged in, it will show a form field in which they can submit new comments). So basically each blog will have multiple comments. I have done two different codes for this but they both have the same problem that each comment appears twice (everything else works fine). nextgen gallery order issue

Hi, wonder if anyone can help. I think what I'm after won't be solved by any exsiting code in nextgen plugin (in wordpress) due to the custom way I'm using it hence I come to stackoverflow for some opnions. Bascially - I am only really using the admin of nextgen to work with the gallerys etc. The actual meat of the functionality I'm querying the nextgen DB's direct from my code, I would have loved to use the inbuilt gallerys in nextgen, but my spec specifics were so custom I couldn't. My issue is, I need to pull the images from the DB's in the order it is in the admin (ie if a user pulls the sort order around in the drag and drop area). I have noticed however this doesn't affect the image id order in the DB, and wouldn't expect it to - that would be some complex shifting around just to reorder everytime surely. So obviously when I query the DB the order it's looking at is when it was created, by image id, with my filtering on top. I'm wondering though if there is a way I can query that sort order that's determined in the admin somehow, then at least I could sort the array somehow in the code ? does next gen store it's user custom sort order somewhere ? Hope this makes sense :) any thoughts appreciated. Thanks

Is there a Visual Studio (or freeware) equivalent for Expression Blend's "Edit Template" feature?

In Expression Blend, you can view and edit the control template of objects in the "Objects and Timeline" panel. I'm wondering if there's an equivalent feature in Visual Studio or if there's something free (or very inexpensive) I can download that will allow me to do this. Here's a screen cap from Expression Blend that shows what I'm talking about: Doing this for DataGrid results in the following: <Style x:Key="DataGridStyle1" TargetType="{x:Type Custom:DataGrid}"> ... <Setter Property="Template"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate TargetType="{x:Type Custom:DataGrid}"> ... </ControlTemplate> </Setter.Value> </Setter> <Style.Triggers> <Trigger Property="IsGrouping" Value="True"> <Setter Property="ScrollViewer.CanContentScroll" Value="False"/> </Trigger> </Style.Triggers> </Style> (The ... is of course replaced with setters and the contents of the control template.) This is a very useful starting point if you want to create a custom style and template for a control. It seems like you can do pretty much anything you can do in Blend in Studio, but this one is eluding me. Any ideas? Edit I'm also curious if this feature will be in Visual Studio 2010. Anyone know?

I also looked at making a new blank jquery object that I could pass elements into like this $newObjectVar.eq(0) = $myClass.eq(3); for example. But as of yet I have not found a way to make a blank jQuery object like this.

Programmatically Update UITableView in Response to Button Press

I have a completely custom view that holds a UITableView and a Custom Tab Bar (basically a UIView that contains 6 UIButtons). I am loading data from a plist file, and then I am sorting the data into multiple arrays based on categories (an array for misc items, and array for mail items, etc.) Each button in the tab bar represents a category, and when I press the button I call the custom function "miscSelected" and so on. How can I have the table view completely reload and then display the tableview based on the array selected (select the misc category and the tableview clears itself and loads the misc array data, same for any other category)? The method I have experimented with is created and NSString named "selection" and then in each button function I set selected to equal whatever section I am selecting. Authentication and Security in my website - need advice please.

Hi, I am using database with a list of username/passwords, and a simple web form that allows for users to enter their username/password. When they submit the page, I simply do a stored procedure check to authenticate. If they are authorised, then their user details (e.g. username, dob, address, company address, other important info) are stored in a custom User object and then in a session. This custom User object that I created is used throughout the web application, and also in a sub-site (session sharing). My question/problems are: Is my method of authentication the correct way to do things? I find users complaining that their session have expired although they "were not idle", possibly due the app pool recycling? They type large amounts of text and find that their session had expired and thus lose all the text typed in. I am uncertain whether the session does really reset sporadically but will Forms Authentication using cookies/cookiless resolve the issue? Alternatively should I build and store the User Object in a session, cookie or something else instead in order to be more "correct" and avoid cases like in point #2. If I go down the Forms Authentication route, I believe I cannot store my custom User object in a Forms Authentication cookie so does it mean I would store the UserID and then recreate the user object on every page? Would this not be a huge increase on the server load? Advice and answers much appreciated. L

Usage of setInfoClass() on DirectoryIterator vs on RecursiveDirectoryIterator

I've ran into an inconsistent behavior when using setInfoClass to set a custom SplFileInfo class to a DirectoryIterator versus setting it to a RecursiveIterator. The method description states: Use this method to set a custom class which will be used when getFileInfo and getPathInfo are called. The class name passed to this method must be derived from SplFileInfo. Consider this custom SplFileInfo class A extends SplFileInfo { public function test() { printf("I am of class %s\n", __CLASS__); } } and my iterators $iterator = new DirectoryIterator('.'); and $iterator = new RecursiveDirectoryIterator('.'); Now I'd expect those two to behave the same when I do $iterator->setInfoClass('A'); foreach($iterator as $file) { $file->test(); } and output 'I am of A' for each $file encountered and in fact, the RecursiveDirectoryIterator will do that. But the DirectoryIterator will raise Fatal error: Call to undefined method DirectoryIterator::test() so apparently the InfoClass does not get applied when iterating over the files. At least not directly, because when I change the code in the foreach loop to $file->getPathInfo()->test(); it will work for the DirectoryIterator. But then the RecursiveDirectoryIterator will raise Fatal error: Call to undefined method SplFileInfo::test() Like I said, I'd expect those two to behave the same, but apparently getFileInfo and getPathInfo don't get called in the DirectoryIterator, which I consider a bug. So if there is any Iterator experts out there, please help me understand this. Thanks.

How can you exclude a large number of records in a cross db query using LINQ2SQL?

So here is my situation: I have a vendor supplied DB we cannot modify and a custom db that imports data from the vendor app and acts on it. Once records are imported form the vendor app, they cannot appear on the list of records to be imported. Also we only want to display the 250 most recent records that have not been imported. What I originally started with was select the list of ids that have been imported from the custom db, and then query the vendor db, using the list of ids in a .Where(x = !idList.Contains(x.Id)) clause on the remote query. This worked up until we broke 2100 records imported into the custom db, as 2100 is the limit on the number of parameters that can be passed into SQL. After finding out this was the actual problem and not the 'invalid buffer'/'severe error' ADO.Net reported, my solution was to remove the first 2000 ids in the remote query, and then remove the remaining records in the local query. Having to pull back a large number of irrelevant records, just to exclude them, so I can get the correct 250 records seems very inelegant. Is there a better way to do this, short of doing a cross db stored procedure? Thanks in advance.

CSS H4 hover style

I tried many css from other places and stackoverflow, but somehow I can not make it done. I'm very new to css, and using Joomla and a template. I'm using custom.css folder for certain customizations on style. Here is I want to do: I want to style h4 when it is a link. For example, I'm creating a custom html module, have a list in the content. And in the content I'm giving each, h5 style, and a link to it to a certain page in the site. What I want to achieve is to have this list with color blue. And when mouse over-hover to have underline and still the same color. And when clicked back to the original position with no underline and no color change. (the same color in every situation, just underline when you are over it.) I tried these h5, h5 a, h5 a: hover, h5 .contentheading a, and so on... In one instance, it was working with : h5 { font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 1.3em; font-weight: bold; } h5 a { color: #0088CC; } h5 a: hover { color: #0088CC; text-decoration: underline; } As I read I should use 'a' when the heading is a link. But now something is overriding it, I'm completely lost now. I see a:hover style in the inspection. I want to use this h5 in several content (in custom modules) when I want to style a content as a list to links. And I thought it will be practical to have one heading with a certain style so that I can use it with flexibility. Thanks a lot, any help will be great : )

Hacking the WordPress Category Widget

The default WordPress categories widget does not allow excluding named categories. I've created a plugin which creates adds a Customized category widget to the "Available Widgets" listing which gives me some control over the items I want to exclude. I want the same structure to be applied to my custom widget as the default categories widget has. I'd also like to give the user the options to specify the title of the categories listing (just as they can do in the default categories widget). btw, I'm using id 1 which is the default "uncategorized" category and assigning items to that category that I don't want to appear in the listing. Any help much appreciated! :)

Change Default Winform Icon Across Entire App

Can I change the default icon used on a Winform? Most of my forms have their icon property set to a custom icon. For the few forms that slip through the cracks, I don't want the generic "hey look, he made this in visual studio" icon. One solution is to tediously check every one of my forms to make sure they either have a custom icon set or have ShowIcon set to False. Another solution is to have every one of my forms inherit from a base class that sets a custom icon in the constructor. Aside from those solutions, what other options do I have? EDIT: I was hoping there would be a way to replace the source of the stock icon with my own. Is it in a resource file somewhere? Or is it embedded in a .NET dll that I can't (or really, really shouldn't) modify? BOUNTY EDIT: Is there a way to accomplish this without editing or writing a single line of code? I don't care how impractical, complicated, waste-of-time the solution is... I just want to know if it's possible. I need to satisfy my curiosity.

DotNetOpenAuth OpenID Provider "Sequence contains more than one element"

Hello, all, I'm having trouble implementing my OpenID provider with DNOA 3.4.3. Everything was going absolutely peachy until I needed AX support as well. I set AXFetchAsSregTransform in the web config, as recommended by Andrew at http://groups.google.com/group/dotnetopenid/browse_thread/thread/5629a24c0a7e8d99. Doing this caused me to get the exception "Sequence Contains More Than One Element" on my decide.aspx page, however, and I haven't been able to get past it. The following line is throwing the exception: Edit: Strangely enough, this is not the line throwing the error anymore. The SendResponse() is now triggering the exception ClaimsRequest requestedFields = ProviderEndpoint.PendingRequest.GetExtension(); ProviderEndpoint.SendResponse() Any thoughts on why this may be? Hi all, I am in need of some help with an error message I get with Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2010 Express. I would like to create a gallery for my site so I downloaded the NotesForGallery from codeplex. I have added the reference into the project like it told me to in the installation instructions. Greetings, I have a problem to use selected value propriety of CascadingDropDown. I have 3 asp dropdown controls with ajax CascadingDropDown for each one of them. I have no problem to bind data to the 3 CascadingDropDown but my problem is to rebind CascadingDropDown. simply what I want to do is to select a record from Gridview which has the selected values for the CascadingDropDown that I want to pass then rebind the CascadingDropDown with selected value. .NET file Decryption - Bad Data

I am in the process of rewriting an old application. The problem is I get a "Bad Data" error: System.Security.Cryptography.CryptographicException was unhandled Message="Bad Data.\r\n" Source="mscorlib" The error fires at this line: dTable.ReadXml(new StreamReader(cryptostreamDecr)); The encrypted file was created today on the same machine with the old code. I guess that maybe the encryption / decryption process uses the application name / file or something and therefore means I can not open it. Does anyone have an idea as to: A) Be able explain why this isn't working? B) Offer a solution that would allow me to be able to open files that were created with the legacy application and be able to convert them please? I'm using the Logging Application Block in my ASP.NET application and want to convert the application to a Sharepoint WebPart. Norton Ghost EBAB03F1: The specified network name is no longer available.

After about 15 minutes, a Norton Ghost 14 backup fails with Error EBAB03F1: The specified network name is no longer available. The source computer is a P4 laptop running Windows XP SP3. The target computer is a Core2 Quad desktop running Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit. It does not help to disable Norton 360 on the source computer or Norton Antivirus 2008 on the target computer. The Event Viewer consistently shows the same two VSS-related errors after Norton Ghost starts but before it fails. It makes no difference if the VSS service is started or stopped. The VSS errors do not appear elsewhere in the event log, only after Ghost starts. The MSS event messages, however, are quite common, appearing throughout the log, and they may have nothing to do with the problem. If I remove the schema from the XML file and the validation from the PL file then it works fine. I am using the default namespace. If I change it to not use the default namespace (xmlns:lib="http://libs.domain.com" and prefix all items in the XML file with lib and change the XPath expressions to include the namespace prefix (/lib:library/lib:book) then it again works file. Why? and what am I missing? Norton Ghost EBAB03F1: The specified network name is no longer available

After about 15 minutes, a Norton Ghost 14 backup fails with Error EBAB03F1: The specified network name is no longer available. The source computer is a P4 laptop running Windows XP SP3. The target computer is a Core2 Quad desktop running Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit. It does not help to disable Norton 360 on the source computer or Norton Antivirus 2008 on the target computer. The Event Viewer consistently shows the same two VSS-related errors after Norton Ghost starts but before it fails. It makes no difference if the VSS service is started or stopped. The VSS errors do not appear elsewhere in the event log, only after Ghost starts. The MSS event messages, however, are quite common, appearing throughout the log, and they may have nothing to do with the problem. I am a newbie to ASP.NET MVC (v2), and I am trying to use a strongly-typed view tied to a model object that contains two optional multi-select listbox objects.
