  • Injecting a response value into a textarea to subsequently post

    I have multiple notes with class=.note and unique id each inside a div. On click of edit I grab the id, show hidden form #noteditor and hide all notes. I am using the load function to get the response (using codeigniter so url does work) and input result in the editorfrorm Textarea id = upnote... Firebug response looks ok and I have tried to inject into a div and this works fine, BUT getting this injto the text area is causing me some headaches. There is also the chance that i am going around this a convoluted way due to my limited knowledge...   • How to run setInterval() on multiple canvases simultaneously?

    I have a page which has several <canvas> elements. I am passing the canvas ID and an array of data to a function which then grabs the canvas info and passes the data onto a draw() function which in turn processes the given data and draws the results onto the canvas. So far, so good. However - I need to animate the canvas. As soon as I replace line 8 of the above example; draw(dimensions, data, i); with setInterval( function() { draw(dimensions, data, i); }, 33 ); It stops working and only draws the last canvas (with the others remaining blank). I'm new to both javascript and canvas so sorry if this is an obvious one, still feeling my way around. Guidance in the right direction much appreciated! Thanks.

I want to display another Indicator in my SiteMapPath bar which shows a post back is happening no matter what. For example when user clicks on a button an UpdateProgress display an Indicator Image in central part of application. I want to display another image ( for every postbacks not only for one) in top of application toolbar. Basically, I don't want to text to wrap in the dropdown, but at the same time, I don't want to button for the dropdown to go wider.

  • Scroll to a text position in Javascript

    I have a real-time HTML editor, with a textarea on the left for code entry, and a 'preview' DIV on the right to contain the preview of the code entered. At the moment, when editing the code in the left pane, the preview just sits where it is, so often the part of the code you're editing is not in the visible area of the preview (especially when images are involved). My question is how do I make the preview scroll to show the part of the code that's currently being edited? Here is the page I have so far: http://www.caerphoto.com/rtedit.html You'll notice in the source I have a (currently unused) matchPreview() function that tries to match the scroll position of the preview based on the scroll position of the textarea, but obviously if images or large text are involved the two panes no longer match.

  • Javascript in chrome plugin has syntax error

    I have an array of objects. The objects have a property called level that is a string which contains a number and is in consistent format. I am trying to find the highest number and return just that one but I seem to be blocked as far as how to proceed from my current code.   • Behavior of local variables in JavaScripts with()-statement

    I noticed some weird (and to my knowledge undefined behavior, by the ECMA 3.0 Spec at least), take the following snippet: var foo = { bar: "1", baz: "2" }; alert(bar); with(foo) { alert(bar); alert(bar); } alert(bar); It crashes in both Firefox and Chrome, because "bar" doesn't exist in the first alert(); statement, this is as expected. But if you add a declaration of bar inside the with()-statement, so it looks like this: var foo = { bar: "1", baz: "2" }; alert(bar); with(foo) { alert(bar); var bar = "g2"; alert(bar); } alert(bar); It will produce the following: undefined, 1, g2, undefined It seems as if you create a variable inside a with()-statement most browsers (tested on Chrome or Firefox) will make that variable exist outside that scope also, it's just set to undefined. Now from my perspective bar should only exist inside the with()-statement, and if you make the example even weirder: var foo = { bar: "1", baz: "2" }; var zoo; alert(bar); with(foo) { alert(bar); var bar = "g2"; zoo = function() { return bar; } alert(bar); } alert(bar); alert(zoo()); It will produce this: undefined, 1, g2, undefined, g2 So the bar inside the with()-statement does not exist outside of it, yet the runtime somehow "automagically" creates a variable named bar that is undefined in its top level scope (global or function) but this variable does not refer to the same one as inside the with()-statement, and that variable will only exist if a with()-statement has a variable named bar that is defined inside it. Very weird, and inconsistent. Anyone have an explanation for this behavior? There is nothing in the ECMA Spec about this.

However, I just can't figure it out (not a developer...designer!) and there isn't just a simple html, css, js file to download showing how to say animate a DIV left to right. The examples of how the library works are clear but I'm lacking something in the set up and looking at their source on the site is nuts...too much going on in there.
