• Application stops on back button in new activity

  I have this application, that have a listView, and when I click in a item on listView, it opens a new activity. That works fine! But, if I open the new activity and than press the "back button" the application "Unfortunately, has stopped". Is there something I'm doing wrong? • Reusing my PagedList object on WCF

  The problem: I have a custom collection PagedList<T> that is being returned from my WCF service as PagedListOfEntitySearchResultW_SH0Zpu5 when T is EntitySearchResult object. I want to reuse this PagedList<T> type between the application and the service. My scenario: I've created a PagedList<T> type that inherits from List<T>. This type is on a separated assembly that is referenced on both application and WCF service. I'm using the /reference option on the scvutil to enable the type reusing. I also don't want any arrays returned so I also use the /collection to map to the generic List type. • Synchronous communication using NSOperationQueue

  I am new to Objective C programming. I have created two threads called add and display using the NSInvocationOperation and added it on to the NSOperationQueue. I make the display thread to run first and then run the add thread. The display thread after printing the "Welcome to display" has to wait for the results to print from the add method. So i have set the waitUntilFinished method. Both the Operations are on the same queue. If i use waitUntilFinished for operations on the same queue there may be a situation for deadlock to happen(from apples developer documentation). Is it so? To wait for particular time interval there is a method called waitUntilDate: But if i need to like this wait(min(100,dmax)); let dmax = 20; How to do i wait for these conditions? It would be much helpful if anyone can explain with an example. • StackOverflowException throws often when .net application built with Debug mode

  I have an application which access an external webservice often, when i are trying to debug it, means debuging in vistual studio. it often throws out StackOverflowException at the webserverice call point. when building in Release mode , the exception thrown out only occasionally. • android app working on simulator but not on phone

  i have this app that i developed and it works great on the simulator with no errors what so ever. but the moment i try to run the same on the phone for testing, the app crashes stating filenotfoundexception. it says the file /res/drawable/divider_horizontal.9.png is missing. but actually speaking, i have never referenced that file through my code. i believe its a system/os file that is unavailable. i have a custom list view, i guess its the divider there... could somebody please suggest what is wrong here. i believe this is a similar issue discussed here..but i am unable to make • How to retrive message list from p2p

  Hello friends I have a messaging system that uses p2p. Each peer has a incoming message list and a outgoing message list. What I need to do is whenever a new peer will join the mesh he will get the all the incoming messages from other peers and add those into it's own incoming message list. Now I know when I get the other peer info from I can ask them to give their own list to me. But I'm not finding the way how..? Any suggestion on this or help would be highly appreciated. • wsdl interoperability problems

  I wrote a .asmx web service which I'm trying to consume from a java client. I'm using axis2's wsdl2java to generate code. But it says that the wsdl is invalid. What exactly is the problem here? It is .net which generated the wsdl automatically after all. Are there problems with wsdl standards, rather the lack of them? What can I do now?   Hi, I'm fairly new at iOS programming, but I managed to make a (in my opinion quite nice) app for the app store. The main function for my next update will be a search option for the app. I followed a tutorial I found on the internet and adapted it to fit my app. I got back quite some errors, most of which I managed to fix.   This is quite a mistery for me. I usually use passwordless RSA authentication to login into my remote *nix servers with ssh and sftp. Never had any problem until now.   I'm currently trying to set up an unattended installation of Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid Lynx) through preseeding. But whenever I try to create a custom partition scheme, the Debian installer (which Ubuntu is using) produces a faulty partition table. • Why RSA SSH authentication only works after console log-in?

  I setup RSA authentication on one of my Ubuntu servers, however after every restart, I can't log-in via ssh RSA. In order to log-in with ssh I need to first log-in via console, then the RSA starts working. Why??? • red5 Install on Ubuntu 10.04? Problems with libslf4j

  I've been trying for many days to get Red5 to install on Ubuntu 10.04. There seem to be a lot of people having trouble getting 10.04 and red5 0.9 working together. I've tried red5-0.9.1.tar.gz and red5_0.9.0-RC1_all.deb. The libraries above should be all that are needed according to Red5's documentation and I got the latest version of each.

• BSOD trying to migrate Windows XP from a physical to a virtual machine

  I am attempting to migrate a Windows XP Home installation from a physical machine to a virtual machine. The physical machine has two hard disks; the first is 250GB containing the "C:", the second is 1TB containing "D:". I'd like to create a new virtual machine stored on the D:, which is a copy of the Windows XP Home installation that is currently on the C:. (This will leave the 250GB drive clear for me to install a fresh copy of Windows 7, and still be able to access the old XP installation if necessary.) The first method I tried was to follow the instructions here: http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Migrate_Windows I booted up from an Ubuntu Live CD in order to execute the Linux commands whilst the Windows system wasn't running. With this method the virtual machine would always blue screen on startup with a "STOP 0x0000007B" message. The instructions above say to try a "repair install" using the Windows XP disc. Unfortunately for me my XP disc is scratched and will not boot so I was unable to try a repair install. The second method I tried was to use "VMWare Converter Standalone Client". This tool executed without any errors, but again produced a virtual machine that blue screens on startup with the same "STOP" message. Are there any other methods to move the Windows XP installation into a virtual machine? I think next I will try some more manual process to create the cloned virtual machine. I think I will try installing a fresh copy of Windows XP to a virtual machine, then once that is booting OK I will ntfsclone the source C: partition over the top. Perhaps this will fix the booting problems if the issue is related to the MBR or partition table in some way.

  Setup We have a DMZ and LAN in our office that are connected to the outside with the following setup: +------+ | |------> LAN (normal office router) |Modem | | |------> DMZ (a single machine) +------+ Our internet account is with Comcast and we have 5 status IPs, one of which points to the single machine in the DMZ. Problem ssh connections initiated ANYWHERE EXCEPT the office LAN are really fast. However, from the LAN, there is about a 5 second delay. WTF?? Extra info The DMZ machine is debian 5. Executing a wget to the DMZ has no lag.
