  I have a requirement, wherein I have to join two unrelated objects using Hibernate HQL. Here is the sample POJO class class Product{ int product_id; String name; String description; } and Class Item{ int item_id; String name; String description; int quantity; int product_id; //Note that there is no composed product object. } Now I want to perform a query like select * from Product p left outer join Item i on p.product_id = i.item_id I want a multidimensional array as an output of this query so that I can have separate instances of Product and Item, instead of one composed in another. Is there any way to do this in Hibernate?

  I have to develop a class which can run it's own hard-coded task in a background thread and communicate with container class sending him progress updates and taking messages from it. I believe I am going to extend BackgroundWorker class but it looks a bit weird to extend and I haven't managed to find a good example wit Google. Can you share a link to a good example of solving such a task? Please don't offer placing a BackgroundWorker visually on a form and reading the standard tutorial, it's not for my case. Maybe I'd better not extend but encapsulate a BackgroundWorker, but I hardly understand how to use it outide WinForms designer either :-(

  I got a class like this which gets returned from an ASP webservice: class Data { public int A { get; set; } public int B { get; set; } public int Sum { get { return A + B; } } } When I try to consume the webservice on the client side using Silverlight I only get the properties A and B but I also need Sum. I know I can't return any logic from a webservice, so the expected behavior was it will return the the Sum as a fixed/precalculated property in the client which is what I need. Any ideas except for redesigning my class? Thanks ...

  Say I have two type classes defined as follows that are identical in function but different in names: class Monad m where (>>=) :: m a -> (a -> m b) -> m b return :: a -> m a class PhantomMonad p where pbind :: p a -> (a -> p b) -> p b preturn :: a -> p b Is there a way to tie these two classes together so something that is an instance of PhantomMonad will automatically be an instance of Monad, or will instances for each class have to be explicitly written?   I'm developing silverlight app with WCF Ria service. I'm using MS SQL database and Entity Framework as ORM framework (Database first method). Model with domain service are in separate project - App1.Data. Silverlight and generated model proxy classes are in App1 project. I want to add property to model entity class EntityClass to get this property on client side. So I did it that way - added this class to project App1.Data: public partial class EntityClass { [DataMember] public List<EntityClass2> PropertyName {get; set;} } After rebuilding EntityClass proxy on client side doesn't have this new property. Where is my mistake?

  Currently I have a static class that I use as my logging module. I’ve added the class to my visual studio solution. Within the class I’ve specified the name and location of the log file to use. Which lets me do stuff like this – which I like and want. Logger.Information(“Page_Load”,”controls loaded correctly”); I’d like to refactor the code and move the logging functionality into a separately compiled assembly, if I did this I would then need to pass in the log file name and location to save the files too. However I don’t want to have to supply this information every time I call the ‘Logging’ method, this would be bad... Logger.Informtaion(“Page_Load”,”controls loaded correctly”,”logfile.txt”,”c:\temp”); Is there any way I can supply this information without having to specify it within each page or via the method call.

  I have been developing a managed extensibility framework application for the last several months using the community preview. I have been using the GetExportedValues() method and the PartCreationPolicy(CreationPolicy.NonShared) to fake a class factory (since only the silverlight version supports a factory). This was working great until I upgraded the project to use .net 4.0. There is no error, it just doesn't work. So why did this code stop working? • A problem with .NET 2.0 project, using a 3.0 DLL which implements WCF services.

  I made a client for accessing my WCF services in one project, and all classes that work with services inherit from this class: public abstract class ServiceClient<TServiceClient> : IDisposable where TServiceClient : ICommunicationObject This class is where I do stuff like disposing, logging when the client was called, etc. some common stuff which all service classes would normally do. Everything worked fine, until I got the task to implement this on an old system. I got into a problem when I used this project (DLL) in an other project which cannot reference System.ServiceModel (since it's an old .NET 2.0 software that I still maintain, and upgrading it to 3.0 is out of the question). Here, if I omit where TServiceClient : ICommunicationObject then the project can build, but the ServiceClient cannot use, for example, client.Close() or client.State So, is my only solution to drop the where statement, and rewrite the service classes?

  Hi, first post here.In Django, I want to have many files be associated with a particular model, so I'm doing a seperate model called files and have model 'A' 'have many' files. But I want my files to be saved in director named by model 'A'. So For example I want something like this: class Show(models.Model): name = models.CharField() showfolder = models.FilePathField() class Episode(models.Model): show = models.ForeignKey(Show) name = models.CharField() files = models.ManyToManyField(mp3) class Mp3(models.Model): file = FileField(upload_to=Episode.show.showfolder) So hopefully that last line expresses what I WANT it to do(get the folder name from Show object associated with the episode). Could someone show me a quick fix so that i can still crudely show the GUI, let the application code run and then later write to the GUI?

  I can't seem to get jQuery to notice the div within the following markup <button class="button submit positive right" id="omnisubmit" type="submit"> <div class="label">Submit</div> <div class="controller">&nbsp;</div> </button> And here is the jQuery I'm currently using: $("button#omnisubmit div.controller").hover(function () { console.log("Hover..."); }); However, jQuery doesn't seem to pick up when the mouse is hovering over that div, $("button#omnisubmit div.controller").hover( works correctly, of course. I have a feeling it's because putting divs inside buttons may not be standard HTML?
