  • Is there a WinForm control inspector application?

    - by Simon Gillbee
I'm looking for something that provides interactive meta-data about a running .NET WinForms application. Basically, I'd like to be able to hover over a running WinForms application and have the inspector highlight the various controls and let me inspect properties such as size, position, parent, etc. I could have sworn I've seen this somewhere, but all my searching is turning up nada.

  • Implicit Lazy Loading vs Explicit Lazy Loading

    - by Tarik
I've been reading Entity Framework and people were crying over why there was not implicit lazy loading or something. Basically I've been searching things about Lazy Loading and now I know what it is : It is a design pattern which allows us to load objects when they are really needed. But what is the difference between Explicit Lazy Loading and Implicit Lazy Loading. Thanks in advance...

I would like to know where can I find a pixel-perfect collision detection function (The faster, the better)

  • What is the difference between these two nloglog(n) sorting algorithms? (Andersson et al., 1995 vs.

    - by Yktula
Swanepoel's comment here lead me to this paper. Then, searching for an implementation in C, I came across this, which referenced another paper on an algorithm described here. Both papers describe integer sorting algorithms that run in O(nloglog(n)) time. What is the difference between the two? Have there been any more recent findings about this topic? When I tried to configure bugzilla with netbeans 6.8 a msg told that the bugzilla's version was newer than the netbeans' plugin compatibility. I've been searching and can't find any updated plugin (and it is not in the plugin manager, at least for what I saw) Any idea where to find it?

  • performance comparision between Zend Lucene and Java Lucene

    - by Carson
Zend Lucene and Java Lucene are built in PHP and java repectively, and PHP language has a higher level than java. Just wondering How big the performance difference among these two, regarding to index building and data searching? Is it much more effective to let java create and rebuild index, and let php use the index?

  • Wordpress plugin help

    - by sico87
Hello, On my wordpress site, I am hoping that I would be able to set up a page that only allows the users to access it if the member is logged in. I still need the link to be available in the navigation but for it to check if the user is signed in... I have been searching for about an hour and cannot really find anything that fits my criteria.

  • How can I debug VGA Out on an iPad?

    - by Elliot
The Dock Connector to VGA Adapter (required for VGA out on the iPad) uses the Dock Connector, so I can't have my laptop connected at the same time. I remember reading something about a Remote debugger, but despite lots of searching, I'm unable to find it. How can I run the debugger to test VGA output of my iPad app?

  • Interview questions for an Android developer

    - by John
I'm a Python and iPhone developer, with some previous C# experience. I've been asked to do an initial screen of some candidates so someone with more experience in Android is going to be following up. I did some searching on Stackoverflow and Google but wasn't able to find a good list of interview questions for an Android developer. Does anyone have suggestions for questions for a mid-level developer?

  • "like" queries in ASP.net MVC

    - by sslepian
How do I get wildcard text searches (like SQL's "like" statement) in ASP.net MVC using the edo entity framework? I assumed this would work: var elig = (from e in _documentDataModel.Protocol_Eligibility_View where e.criteria.Contains(query) select e); But it returns no results even when searching for a query string that's definitely in the database. What am I doing wrong?

  • Getting number of hits from Google API

    - by drRoflol
I've tried to find a way to do this, but without success. I'm looking for a way to find out how many hits a search gets, and I don't want to do this manually, or with regex searching trough the html code. Surely the Google APIs must have a simple way to do this. Does anyone know of one?

  • Proper MIME type for fonts

    - by David Hedlund
Searching the web, I find heaps of different suggestions for what the proper MIME type for a font is, but I have yet to try any MIME type that rids me of a Chrome warning such as the following: Resource interpreted as font but transferred with MIME type font/otf The font is an OTF. I've tried the following MIME types so far font/otf application/font-otf application/font application/otf application/octet-stream application/x-font-otf application/x-font-TrueType (I know it's not truetype, but one source quoted this for OTF)

  • Pseudo LRU tree algorithm.

    - by patros
A lot of descriptions of Pseudo LRU algorithms involve using a binary search tree, and setting flags to "point away" from the node you're searching for every time you access the tree. This leads to a reasonable approximation of LRU. However, it seems from the descriptions that all of the nodes deemed LRU would be leaf nodes. Is there a pseudo-LRU algorithm that deals with a static tree that will still perform reasonably well, while determining that non-leaf nodes are suitable LRU candidates?

  • Switching to landscape mode in Android Emulator

    - by Cody
This is probably a pretty easy to answer question, but I can't find the solution myself after a couple hours of searching the documentation and Google. I set the orientation of my Android app to landscape in the AndroidManifest.xml file: android:screenOrientation="landscape" However, when I run the app in the simulator, it appears sideways and in portrait mode. How can I switch the emulator to landscape mode on a mac? It's running the 1.6 SDK. Thanks!

  • In LINQPad can you access SYSOBJECTS using LINQ?

    - by Xanthalas
In LINQPad is there any way to access either the SYSOBJECTS table or the various INFORMATION_SCHEMA.xxx views using LINQ? I spend a lot of time searching through our huge company database for partial names as there are too many tables and Stored Procedures to remember the names of them all. I know I can enter and run SQL in LINQPad but I would like to do this in LINQ instead of SQL as LINQ is more fun :) Thanks Xanthalas

  • How to generate Perlin Noise on an iPhone

    - by Andre
Hi, I want to create an animated perlin noise on the iPhone, so I can ultimately do something like this: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1977230/example.png I've looked and looked, but can't find anything similar or a way to actually display a Perlin Noise. I've been told to look at OpenGL ES, but even searching for an example of Perlin noise or a lava/plasma effect doesn't result in anything. I'd really appreciate some help on this one. Thanks guys, Andre
