  • Rails 2.3.5 model name translation problem in error messages

    - by Jason Nerer
    Hi Rails'ers, I encountered some problem while trying to translate my model's names and attributes in a Rails 2.3.5 app. I have the following model: class BillingPlan < ActiveRecord::Base validates_presence_of :billing_option_id belongs_to :order belongs_to :user belongs_to :billing_option end When validation fails, my models attributes are translated correctly, but the modelname itself is not. I use the following translation skeleton in de.yml de: activerecord: models: shipping_plan: "Versandart" billing_plan: "Rechnungsart" attributes: shipping_plan: shipping_option_id: "Versandoption" billing_plan: billing_option_id: "Rechnungsoption" Basis for my translation file is: http://github.com/svenfuchs/rails-i18n/blob/master/rails/locale/de.yml Can anyone help? Thx in advance J.

  • Self closing Html Generic Control?

    - by Chalkey
    I am writing a bit of code to add a link tag to the head tag in the code behind... i.e. HtmlGenericControl css = new HtmlGenericControl("link"); css.Attributes["rel"] = "Stylesheet"; css.Attributes["type"] = "text/css"; css.Attributes["href"] = String.Format("/Assets/CSS/{0}", cssFile); to try and achieve something like... <link rel="Stylesheet" type="text/css" href="/CSS/Blah.css" /> I am using the HtmlGenericControl to achieve this... the issue I am having is that the control ultimatly gets rendered as... <link rel="Stylesheet" type="text/css" href="/CSS/Blah.css"></link> I cant seem to find what I am missing to not render the additional </link>, I assumed it should be a property on the object. Am I missing something or is this just not possible with this control? Thanks

  • [C#] GrayScale (by ColorMatrix) causes OutOfMemoryException. Why ?

    - by Tony
    I have 2 forms, A and B. On the Form A, I click a button and an Image is being loaded to a PictureBox located ona the Form B. And, I want to set GrayScale to this image by: public void SetGrayScale(PictureBox pb) { ColorMatrix matrix = new ColorMatrix(new float[][] { new float[] {0.299f, 0.299f, 0.299f, 0, 0}, new float[] {0.587f, 0.587f, 0.587f, 0, 0}, new float[] {0.114f, 0.114f, 0.114f, 0, 0}, new float[] { 0, 0, 0, 1, 0}, new float[] { 0, 0, 0, 0, 0} }); Image image = (Bitmap)pb.Image.Clone(); ImageAttributes attributes = new ImageAttributes(); attributes.SetColorMatrix(matrix); Graphics graphics = Graphics.FromImage(image); graphics.DrawImage(image, new Rectangle(0, 0, image.Width, image.Height), 0, 0, image.Width, image.Height, GraphicsUnit.Pixel, attributes); graphics.Dispose(); pb.Image = image; } This code works properly when the PictureBox is on the same form (A). But, when it is on the Form B, the OutOfMemoryException is raised. Why ?

  • Python lazy property decorator

    - by detly
    Recently I've gone through an existing code base and refactored a lot of instance attributes to be lazy, ie. not be initialised in the constructor but only upon first read. These attributes do not change over the lifetime of the instance, but they're a real bottleneck to calculate that first time and only really accessed for special cases. I find myself typing the following snippet of code over and over again for various attributes across various classes: class testA(object): def __init__(self): self._a = None self._b = None @property def a(self): if self._a is None: # Calculate the attribute now self._a = 7 return self._a @property def b(self): #etc Is there an existing decorator to do this already in Python that I'm simply unaware of? Or, is there a reasonably simple way to define a decorator that does this? I'm working under Python 2.5, but 2.6 answers might still be interesting if they are significantly different.

  • Xerces SAX parser ignore the xmlxs:xsi attribute as an attribute of an element

    - by user603301
    Hi, Using Xerces SAX parser I try to retrieve all elements and their attributes of this XML file: -------------- Begin XML file to parse ---------------- <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <invoice xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="my.xsd"> <parties> (...) -------------- End XML file to parse ---------------- When getting the attributes for the element 'invoice', Xerces++ does not insert the 'xmlns:xsi' attribute in the list of 'Attributes' for the element 'invoice'. However, the attribute 'xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation' is inserted in the list. Why? Is there a specific reason from an XML standard point of view ? Is there a way to configure Xerces++ SAX parser so that it inserts this attribute as well? (The documentation on setting the parser properties does not tell how). Thanks for your help.

  • How to generate a compiler error based on an attribute being missing in C#?

    - by RodH257
    I create a number of add-ins for the Revit Structure API. Each tool has to habe a class which implements the interface IExternalCommand. In the latest version of Revit, for your tool to work you need to have two attributes on the class that implements that interface: [Regeneration(RegenerationOption.Manual)] [Transaction(TransactionMode.Automatic)] The values in brackets can change, but there must be something there. Often I am finding myself forgetting to put the attributes on, then when it comes to runtime it crashes. Is there any way in Visual Studio 2010 to add a compiler warning or error saying that if your class implements that interface it must have those 2 attributes? I have resharper if that helps. Can anyone point me into the right direction?

  • How to parse app.config using ConfigurationManager?

    - by Amokrane
    I was using a certain method for parsing my app.config file. Then I was told that using ConfigurationManager is better and simpler. But the thing is I don't know how to do it with ConfigurationManager. My original code looked like this: XmlNode xmlProvidersNode; XmlNodeList xmlProvidersList; XmlNodeList xmlTaskFactoriesList; XmlDocument xmlDoc = new XmlDocument(); xmlDoc.Load("app.config"); xmlProvidersNode = xmlDoc.DocumentElement.SelectSingleNode("TaskProviders"); xmlProvidersList = xmlProvidersNode.SelectNodes("TaskProvider"); foreach (XmlNode xmlProviderElement in xmlProvidersList) { if (xmlProviderElement.Attributes.GetNamedItem("Name").Value.Equals(_taskProvider)) { xmlTaskFactoriesList = xmlProviderElement.SelectNodes("TaskTypeFactory"); foreach (XmlNode xmlTaskFactoryElement in xmlTaskFactoriesList) { if (xmlTaskFactoryElement.Attributes.GetNamedItem("TaskType").Value.Equals(_taskType)) { taskTypeFactory = xmlTaskFactoryElement.Attributes.GetNamedItem("Class").Value; } } } } What would be the equivalent using ConfigurationManager? (Because all I can see is how to get keys not nodes..) Thanks

Is it possible to create an xsd schema for this tag? possible xml document <ROWDATA> <ROW field1="dfgdf" field2="ddfg"></ROW> <ROW field1="dfedf" field2="djkfg" field3="cdffd"></ROW> <ROW field1="dfedf" field2="djkfg" field3="cdffd" field4="dfedf" field5="djkfg" field6="cdffd"></ROW> </ROWDATA> in this xml document, which I receive from a web server, can be a variable number of attributes field (I noted them as fieldi, where i means the order of a specific attribute field) So I have, unknown number of ROW elements and unknown number of field attributes in the ROW element Thanks

  • Create a Models Diagram Using Railroad

    - by SeeBees
    Railroad is a great UML tool for Ruby on Rails. It can automatically generate class diagrams of models and controllers. For models, a railroad-generated class diagram shows attributes of each model and the associations between one model and another. A sample diagram can be found here. It is very useful for a developer to see attributes and associations of models. While attributes and associations reveal the inner states and relationships of models, methods specify their behaviours. They are all desirable in a class diagram. I would like railroad to generate a class diagram that also lists methods for models, which will help me to know what each model does. I know methods are displayed in a diagram that is generated for controllers, but I don't see such an option for a diagram of models. Does someone know how to do that with railroad? Or is that possible? Thanks!

  • MySQL - Finding time overlaps

    - by Jude
    Hi, I have 2 tables in the database with the following attributes: Booking ======= booking_id booking_start booking_end resource_booked =============== booking_id resource_id The second table is an associative entity between "Booking" and "Resource" (i.e., 1 booking can contain many resources). Attributes booking_start and booking_end are timestamps with date and time in it. May I know how I might be able to find out for each resource_id (resource_booked) if the date/time overlaps or clashes with other bookings of similar resource_id? I was doodling the answer on paper, pictorially, to see if it might help me visualize how I could solve this and I got this: Joining the 2 tables (Booking, Booked_resource) into one table with the 4 attributes needed. Follow the answer suggested here : http://stackoverflow.com/questions/689458/find-overlapping-date-time-rows-within-one-table I did step 1 but step 2 is leaving me baffled! I would really appreciate any help on this! Thanks!

  • Why can XSLT not parse this XML?

    - by Matt W
    Taking the XSLT and XML from this page as an example: http://www.w3schools.com/xsl/xsl_transformation.asp I have an xml file which contains (above example modified): <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?> <?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="cdcatalog.xsl"?> <catalog xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns="http://tempuri.org/"> <cd> In my case, the output contains nothing when the XSLT/XML is processed by the browser. The moment I remove the attributes from the element, it works. Problem is, I don't really have the option of pre-processing those attributes out of the file. Can anyone explain how to force the XSLT to work with the XML as is, please? After all, those attributes seem fairly standard. Many thanks, Matt.

  • How to handle similar items in rails MVC?

    - by mocker
    I'm working on building a pretty simple site mainly as an exercise in learning more about rails. You can see my rough progress at statific.com. It's working pretty much as I wanted it for keeping track of server information, but now I'd like to expand it to other things, next on the list being firewalls. I can pretty easily duplicate all the models, views, etc.. that I have for my servers. The problem I see with that is that it isn't very DRY since most of the code would look the same, the only difference would be the attributes I have setup for firewalls would be different than for servers. I know in plain ruby this is pretty simple, you can have a 'Product' w/ common attributes ('manufacturer', 'model') and then have children with more specific attributes. Does the same type of concept exist for rails, or am I just over thinking this?

  • How to assign optional attribute of NSManagedObject in a NSManagedObjectModel having Three NSManaged

    - by Kundan
    I am using coredata framework. In my NSManagedObjectModel i am using three entities that are Class, Student and Score where class and student have one-to-many & inverse relationship and Student and Score have also inverse but one-one relationship. Score entity has all optional attributes and having default '0' decimalVaue, which is not assigned at the time new Student is added. But later i want to assign them score individually and also to particular attribute not all of score attributes in a go. I am able to create and add Students to particular Class but dont have any idea how to call particular student and assign them score. For example I want to assign Score'attribute "dribbling" [there are many attributes like "tackling"] a decimal value to Student "David" of Class "Soccer" ,how i can do that? Thanks in advance for any suggestion.

  • merging arrays of hashes

    - by Ben
    I have two arrays of hashes. Array1 => [{attribute_1 = A, attribute_2 = B}, {attribute_1 = A, attribute_2 = B}] Array2 => [{attribute_3 = C, attribute_2 = D}, {attribute_3 = C, attribute_4 = D}] Each hash in the array is holding attributes for an object. In the above example, there are two objects that I'm working with. There are two attributes in each array for each object How do I merge the two arrays? I am trying to get a single array (there is no way to get a single array from the start because I have to make two different API calls to get these attributes). DesiredArray => [{attribute_1 = A, attribute_2 = B, attribute_3 = C, attribute_2 = D}, {attribute_1 = A, attribute_2 = B, attribute_3 = C, attribute_2 = D}] I've tried a couple things, including the iteration methods and the merge method, but I've been unable to get the array I need.

  • What is the order of execution when dealing with .NET MVC 2 Action Filters?

    - by user357933
    Say I have: [Attribute1(Order=0)] public class Controller1 { [Attribute2] [Attribute3] public ActionResult Action1() { ... } } The attributes get executed in the following order: 2, 3, 1 This makes sense because attributes 2 and 3 have an order of -1 and will be executed before attribute 1 which has an explicitly set order equal to 0. Now, lets say I have: [Attribute1] [Attribute2(Order=0)] public class Controller1 { [Attribute3] public ActionResult Action1() { ... } } The attributes get executed in the following order: 1, 2, 3 Why is it that attribute 2 in this case (which has an order equal to 0) is executed before attribute 3 (which has an order equal to -1)?

  • Ignoring extra keys in a hash passed in to create

    - by denniss
    Does rails provide a way to ignore extra keys that are passed in to create. Supposed User has two attributes, first_name and last_name. When I do User.create({ :first_name => "first", :last_name => "last", :age => 10}) that line gives me an UknonwnAttributeError. Well, that makes sense, it happens cause age is not one of the attributes. But is there a way to just ignore key-value pair that is not one of the attributes for User?

  • has_many association, nested models and callbacks

    - by fl00r
    Hi! I've got model A and model Attach. I'm editing my A form with nested attributes for :attaches. And when I am deleting all attaches from A via accepts_nested_attributes_for how can I get after_update/after_save callbacks for all of my nested models? Problem is that when I am executing callbacks in model A they are executed right AFTER model A is updated and BEFORE model Attach is updated, so I can't, for example, know if there is NO ANY attaches after I delete them all :). Look for example: my callback after_save :update_status won't work properly after I delete all of my attaches. model A after_save :update_status has_many :attaches accepts_nested_attributes_for :attaches, :reject_if => proc { |attributes| attributes['file'].blank? }, :allow_destroy => true def update_status print "\n\nOUPS! bag is empty!\n\n" if self.attaches.empty? end end model Attach belongs_to A end I am using rails 3 beta

  • How can I "override" deepcopy in Python?

    - by Az
    Hi there, I'd like to override __deepcopy__ for a given SQLAlchemy-mapped class such that it ignores any SQLA attributes but deepcopies everything else that's part of the class. I'm not particularly familiar with overriding any of Python's built-in objects in particular but I've got some idea as to what I want. Let's just make a very simple class User that's mapped using SQLA. class User(object): def __init__(self, user_id, name): self.user_id = user_id self.name = name I've used dir() to see, before and after mapping, what SQLAlchemy-specific attributes there are and I've found _sa_class_manager and _sa_instance_state. Provided those are the only ones how would I ignore that when defining __deepcopy__? Also, are there any attributes the SQLA injects into the mapped object? (I asked this in a previous question (as an edit a few days after I selected an answer to the main question, though) but I think I missed the train there. Apologies for that.)

  • ASP.Net - Gridview row selection and effects

    I'm using the following code in attempt to allow the user to select a gridview row by clicking anywhere on the row (plus mouse over and out) effects. The code doesn't seem to be applied on rowdatabound and I can't break into the event. (It is wired). The control is in a usercontrol, that lives in a content page, which has a masterpage. protected void gvOrderTypes_RowDataBound(object sender, GridViewRowEventArgs e) { GridView gvOrdTypes = (GridView)sender; //check the item being bound is actually a DataRow, if it is, //wire up the required html events and attach the relevant JavaScripts if (e.Row.RowType == DataControlRowType.DataRow) { e.Row.Attributes["onmouseover"] = "javascript:setMouseOverColor(this);"; e.Row.Attributes["onmouseout"] = "javascript:setMouseOutColor(this);"; e.Row.Attributes["onclick"] = Page.ClientScript.GetPostBackClientHyperlink(gvOrdTypes, "Select$" + e.Row.RowIndex); } }
