  • Binding to Element's Visibility value

    - by plotnick
    I have a checkable DropDownButton and a Grid. I want to bind Button's IsChecked parameter with grid's Visibility value. If (Visibility == Visible) IsCheked = true I've tried to do like that: IsChecked="{Binding ElementName=UsersDockWindow, Path=IsVisible}" but it didn't work, cause IsVisible is readOnly property.

  • How to invalidate layout of listbox from custom children

    - by Stephen Price
    I have a custom panel for a listbox <ItemsPanelTemplate x:Key="FloatPanelTemplate"> <Controls:FloatPanel x:Name="CardPanel" /> </ItemsPanelTemplate> The panel lays out its children using its X and Y dependency properties. This all works nicely when the FloatPanel is used by itself - I'm using FrameworkPropertyMetadataOptions.AffectsArrange | FrameworkPropertyMetadataOptions.AffectsMeasure on the dependency properties of the child items to tell the FloatPanel to redraw its layout. When I use it in a Listbox (code above) then it draws fine the first time, but when I drag the children (which modifies the item's X and Y) it is not notifying the Listbox that it needs to redraw the FloatPanel's children. I think the issue is related to the fact that each item in the bound collection is wrapped with a ListBoxItem. Hopefully I've described what i'm doing well enough that someone can tell me how to make the panel (or its children) tell it needs to do the Layout routines again. As I said it works once (initial draw) but then dragging items doesn't work (Listbox isnt aware that its children have changed and needs to relayout.) If I drag an item and then resize the window, the listbox does a layout and the items are drawn in their new locations. How do I notify the ListBox (or more importantly the FloatPanel in the ItemsPanelTemplate) that it needs to do a Layout pass?

  • SolidColorBrush thickness property

    - by developer
    Hi All, Is it possible to set thickness property of SolidColorBrush. The reason I am asking is that I have a IValueConverter binding to Textbox Border BorderBrush property and I am dynamically setting the color of the textbox using the below code, SolidColorBrush tbbrush = new SolidColorBrush(Colors.DarkGray); return tbbrush; I also want to change the thickness property of the border, but without writing a new IValueConverter. Is it possible?

  • How to traverse the item in the collection in a List or Observable collection?

    - by Ashish Ashu
    I have a collection that is binded to my Listview. I have provided options to user to "move up" "move down" the selected item in the list view. I have binded the selected item of the listview to my viewmodel, hence I get the item in the collection on which user want to do the operation. I have attached "move up" "move down" commands in my viewmodel. I want what is the best way to move up and down in the collection in the collection which is reflected in the list view. Please suggest.

  • Scaled ellipse over button, button not clickable

    - by user336720
    Hi, I'm scaling an ellipse in an animation with the following code: ScaleTransform myScTransform = new ScaleTransform(); TransformGroup myTransGroup = new TransformGroup(); myTransGroup.Children.Add(myScTransform); newPHRadio.RenderTransform = myTransGroup; newPHRadio.RenderTransformOrigin = new Point(0.5, 0.5); Storyboard story = new Storyboard(); DoubleAnimation xAnimation = new DoubleAnimation(1, ph.Bereik, new Duration(TimeSpan.FromSeconds(2))); DoubleAnimation yAnimation = new DoubleAnimation(1, ph.Bereik, new Duration(TimeSpan.FromSeconds(2))); DoubleAnimation doorzichtig = new DoubleAnimation(1, 0, new Duration(TimeSpan.FromSeconds(2))); Storyboard.SetTarget(xAnimation, newPHRadio); Storyboard.SetTarget(yAnimation, newPHRadio); Storyboard.SetTarget(doorzichtig, newPHRadio); DependencyProperty[] propertyChainX = new DependencyProperty[] { Ellipse.RenderTransformProperty, TransformGroup.ChildrenProperty, ScaleTransform.ScaleXProperty }; DependencyProperty[] propertyChainY = new DependencyProperty[] { Ellipse.RenderTransformProperty, TransformGroup.ChildrenProperty, ScaleTransform.ScaleYProperty }; string thePath = "(0).(1)[0].(2)"; Storyboard.SetTargetProperty(xAnimation, new PropertyPath(thePath, propertyChainX)); Storyboard.SetTargetProperty(yAnimation, new PropertyPath(thePath, propertyChainY)); Storyboard.SetTargetProperty(doorzichtig, new PropertyPath(Ellipse.OpacityProperty)); story.Children.Add(xAnimation); story.Children.Add(yAnimation); story.Children.Add(doorzichtig); story.Duration = new Duration(TimeSpan.FromSeconds(60 / ph.Frequentie)); story.RepeatBehavior = RepeatBehavior.Forever; story.Begin(); The ellipse is constructed with the following code: Ellipse newPHRadio = new Ellipse(); newPHRadio.Width = 1; newPHRadio.Height = 1; newPHRadio.SetValue(Canvas.LeftProperty, ph.xPositie + 7); newPHRadio.SetValue(Canvas.TopProperty, ph.yPositie + 7); newPHRadio.SetValue(Canvas.ZIndexProperty, 3); newPHRadio.Stroke = new SolidColorBrush(Colors.Black); newPHRadio.StrokeThickness = 0.03; Now the ellipse is scaled over an button which has a z-index of 1. With a static ellipse and no fill, the button is clickable. Now there is no fill as well but the button is not clickable. Can someone tell me how to fix this?

  • Dependency Property Set Priority: CodeBehind vs. XAML

    - by LukePet
    When I initialize a control property from code, the binding to the same property defined on XAML don't work. Why? For Example, I set control properties on startup with this statements: myControl.SetValue(UIElement.VisibilityProperty, DefaultProp.Visibility); myControl.SetValue(UIElement.IsEnabledProperty, DefaultProp.IsEnabled); and on xaml I bind the property of myControl in this way: IsEnabled="{Binding Path=IsKeyControlEnabled}" now, when the property "IsKeyControlEnabled" changes to false, myControl remains enabled (because it's initialize with true value). How can I do?

  • How to set property only on second column of a ListView?

    - by Lernkurve
    Introduction I have a ListView and want to format only the second column. The following XAML code does that: <ListView x:Name="listview"> <ListView.View> <GridView> <GridViewColumn Header="Property" DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding Path=Key}" Width="100"/> <!-- <GridViewColumn Header="Value" DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding Path=Value}" Width="250">--> <GridViewColumn Header="Value" Width="250"> <GridViewColumn.CellTemplate> <DataTemplate> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Path=Value}" Foreground="CornflowerBlue" AutomationProperties.Name={Binding Path="Key"}/> </DataTemplate> </GridViewColumn.CellTemplate> </GridViewColumn> </GridView> </ListView.View> </ListView> The one problem I have is that the AutomationProperties.Name property is not being set. I was checking it with the Coded UI Test Builder and the property is empty. The Text and the Foreground property are being set correctly. Question Does anyone know why AutomationProperties.Name is not being set? Additional information Strangly enough, the following XAML code does set the AutomationProperties.Name <ListView x:Name="listview"> <ListView.Resources> <Style TargetType="TextBlock"> <Setter Property="AutomationProperties.Name" Value="{Binding Key}"/> </Style> </ListView.Resources> <ListView.View> <GridView> <GridViewColumn Header="Property" DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding Path=Key}" Width="100"/> <GridViewColumn Header="Value" DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding Path=Value}" Width="250"/> </GridView> </ListView.View> </ListView> The problem here though is that AutomationProperties.Name is being set on all the columns. But I only want it on the second one because otherwise my Coded UI Test code returns the wrong value (that of the first column, instead of that of the second column which I want).

  • Themes outside application.

    - by Marek
    Hi all I read http://forum.kohanaframework.org/comments.php?DiscussionID=5744&page=1#Item_0 and I want to use similar solution, but with db. In my site controller after(): $theme = $page->get_theme_name(); //Orange Kohana::set_module_path('themes', Kohana::get_module_path('themes').'/'.$theme); $this->template = View::factory('layout') I checked with firebug: fire::log(Kohana::get_module_path('themes')); // D:\tools\xampp\htdocs\kohana\themes/Orange I am sure that path exists. I have directly in 'Orange' folder 'views' folder with layout.php file. But I am getting: The requested view layout could not be found Extended Kohana_Core is just: public static function get_module_path($module_key) { return self::$_modules[$module_key]; } public static function set_module_path($module_key, $path) { self::$_modules[$module_key] = $path; } Could anybody help me with solving that issue? • Item rendered via a DataTemplate with any Background Brush renders selection coloring behind item.

    - by Mike L
    I have a ListBox which uses a DataTemplate to render databound items. The XAML for the datatemplate is as follows: <DataTemplate x:Key="NameResultTemplate"> <WrapPanel x:Name="PersonResultWrapper" Margin="0" Orientation="Vertical" Background="{Binding Converter={StaticResource NameResultToColor}, Mode=OneWay}" > <i:Interaction.Triggers> <i:EventTrigger EventName="MouseDown"> <cmd:EventToCommand x:Name="SelectPersonEventCommand" Command="{Binding Search.SelectedPersonCommand, Mode=OneWay, Source={StaticResource Locator}}" CommandParameter="{Binding Mode=OneWay}" /> </i:EventTrigger> </i:Interaction.Triggers> <TextBlock x:Name="txtPersonName" TextWrapping="Wrap" Margin="0" VerticalAlignment="Top" Text="{Binding PersonName}" FontSize="24" Foreground="Black" /> <TextBlock x:Name="txtAgencyName" TextWrapping="Wrap" Text="{Binding AgencyName}" HorizontalAlignment="Left" VerticalAlignment="Bottom" Margin="0" FontStyle="Italic" Foreground="Black" /> <TextBlock x:Name="txtPIDORI" TextWrapping="Wrap" Text="{Binding PIDORI}" HorizontalAlignment="Left" VerticalAlignment="Bottom" Margin="0" FontStyle="Italic" Foreground="Black" /> <TextBlock x:Name="txtDescriptors" TextWrapping="Wrap" Text="{Binding DisplayDescriptors}" Margin="0" VerticalAlignment="Top" Foreground="Black"/> <Separator Margin="0" Width="400" /> </WrapPanel> </DataTemplate> Note that there is a value converter called NameResultToColor which changes the background brush of the rendered WrapPanel to gradient brush depending on certain scenarios. All of this works as I'd expect, except when you click on any of the rendered ListBox items. When you click one, there is only the slightest sign of the selection coloring (the default bluish color). I can see a trace bit of it underneath my gradient-brushed item. If I reset the background brush to "no brush" then the selection rendering works properly. If I set the background brush to a solid color, it also fails to render as I'd expect. How can I get the selection coloring to be on top? What is trumping the selection rendering?

I need to have items in ListBox just next to each other. I have tried changing ItemTemplate of the ListBox but it did not help.

That is for example, when the Intake form button is pushed, it will have its own set of tabs (its own tabcontrols) am i supposed to place multiple tab controls on the artboard, or is there a way to programatically change the names of the tabs, and there contents, when a button is pushed on the left ? thank you in advance. and here is a link hxxp://img709.imageshack.us/img709/554/tabcontrol.gif here is the code so far <Window xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:d="http://schemas.microsoft.com/expression/blend/2008" xmlns:mc="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/markup-compatibility/2006" x:Class="service.MainWindow" x:Name="Window" Title="MainWindow" Width="687" Height="480" mc:Ignorable="d"> <Window.Resources> <Storyboard x:Key="OnLoaded1"/> </Window.Resources> <Window.Triggers> <EventTrigger RoutedEvent="FrameworkElement.Loaded"> <BeginStoryboard Storyboard="{StaticResource OnLoaded1}"/> </EventTrigger> </Window.Triggers> <Grid x:Name="LayoutRoot" Margin="0,0,-16,1"> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="0*"/> <ColumnDefinition/> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <DockPanel Margin="8,8,0,7" LastChildFill="False" Grid.Column="1" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Width="660"> <Menu VerticalAlignment="Top" Width="657" Height="32"> <MenuItem x:Name="file" Header="File"/> <MenuItem x:Name="edit" Header="Edit"> <MenuItem Width="100" Height="100" Header="MenuItem"/> </MenuItem> <MenuItem x:Name="view" Header="View"/> <MenuItem x:Name="preferences" Header="Preferences"/> <MenuItem x:Name="help" Header="Help"/> </Menu> </DockPanel> <TabControl x:Name="tabwin" Margin="137.224,46,19,7" Grid.Column="1"> <TabItem x:Name="intakeformsub" Header="Elegibility Form"> <Grid HorizontalAlignment="Left" Width="490"/> </TabItem> <TabItem Header="TabItem"> <Grid/> </TabItem> <TabItem Header="TabItem"> <Grid/> </TabItem> <TabItem Header="TabItem"> <Grid> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="0.567*"/> <ColumnDefinition Width="0.433*"/> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> </Grid> </TabItem> <TabItem Header="TabItem"> <Grid/> </TabItem> <TabItem Header="TabItem"> <Grid> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="0.735*"/> <ColumnDefinition Width="0.265*"/> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> </Grid> </TabItem> <TabItem Header="TabItem"> <Grid/> </TabItem> <TabItem Header="TabItem"> <Grid/> </TabItem> </TabControl> <Grid x:Name="___buttontab" Margin="11.205,61,0,0" Grid.Column="1" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Width="122.019" VerticalAlignment="Top" Height="276"> <Button VerticalAlignment="Top" Height="36" Content="Button"/> <Button Margin="0,40,0,0" Content="Oasis Assessments" VerticalAlignment="Top" Height="36"/> <Button Margin="0,80,0,0" VerticalAlignment="Top" Height="36" Content="Plan of Care"/> <Button Margin="0,120,0,0" VerticalAlignment="Top" Height="36" Content="Medication Profile" RenderTransformOrigin="0.421,5.556"/> <Button Margin="0,0,0,80" VerticalAlignment="Bottom" Height="36" Content="Clinical Notes"/> <Button Margin="0,0,0,40" VerticalAlignment="Bottom" Height="36" Content="Infection Control"/> <Button x:Name="intakeformbtn" VerticalAlignment="Top" Height="36" Content="Intake Form" Click="intakeform"> <Button.BindingGroup> <BindingGroup/> </Button.BindingGroup> </Button> <Button VerticalAlignment="Bottom" Height="36" Content="Discharge Summary"/> </Grid> <ProgressBar HorizontalAlignment="Left" Margin="8,0,0,7" VerticalAlignment="Bottom" Width="104.795" Height="19" Grid.Column="1"/> </Grid> </Window>

  • difference between ObservableCollection and BindingList

    - by Azhar
    I want to know the difference between ObservableCollection and BindingList because I've used both to notify for any add/delete change in Source, but I actually do not know when to prefer one over the other. Why would I choose one of the following over the other? ObservableCollection<Employee> lstEmp = new ObservableCollection<Employee>(); or BindingList<Employee> lstEmp = new BindingList<Employee>();

  • Shorter Binding expression with validation

    - by Andrii V
    Hi, I'm repeating same binding parameters for every textbox and they're quite long strings (which is not good for many reasons). And I'm wondering if there's a way to make them shorter? For instance all my controls on forms are using the following binding template: Text="{Binding SourceProperty, UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged, ValidatesOnExceptions=True, ValidatesOnDataErrors=True, NotifyOnValidationError=True}" I'd would like to have something shorter that ideally will take SourceProperty as parameter. Possbly like this: Text="{MyBinding SourceProperty}" or Text="{Binding SourceProperty, Params=MyParams}" One possible option would be to inherit from Binding and create new markup extension. Did someone tried this? Any other ideas how to make these repetetive bindings look better?

  • Evaluate ContentControl without rendering to screen

    - by thedesertfox
    I have a datagrid and I'm writing a method to search through it to find some text. Practically all of my columns use a DataTemplateSelector, so in my search, I need to be able to take a DataTemplate, apply it to a ContentControl, and then find a TextBlock to get the text to see if it matches my search criteria. I'm trying the following but it's not seeming to produce any results. I also tried a FindName("layoutRoot" control) but that came back as null as well. var control = new ContentControl(); control.ContentTemplate = dataTemplate; control.Content = item; var txtBox = control.FindChildren<TextBlock>();

  • how to pass data when using MenuItem.ItemContainerStyle

    - by black sensei
    Hello Experts! i've been trying to have a dynamic ContextMenu to show the name property of each of the object in its collection of objects. here is concrete example ,i'm connecting to a webservice to pull contacts and groups of a particular account.so i have those as global variables.i display the contacts in a listbox and i want to show on right click of a contact in the listbox the list of groups that it can be added to. to be able to add a contact to a group i need the id of the contact(which i have) and the id of the group which i'm looking for here is my code. xmlns:serviceAdmin="clr-namespace:MyWpfApp.serviceAdmin" ...... <ListBox.ContextMenu> <ContextMenu> <MenuItem Header="Refresh" Click="RefreshContact_Click"></MenuItem> <MenuItem Header="Add New Contact" Click="ContactNew_Click"></MenuItem> <MenuItem Header="Add to Group" Name="groupMenus"> //<!--<MenuItem.Resources> // <DataTemplate DataType="{x:Type serviceAdmin:groupInfo}" x:Key="groupMenuKey" > // <MenuItem> // <TextBlock Text="{Binding name}" /> // </MenuItem> // </DataTemplate> // </MenuItem.Resources>--> <MenuItem.ItemContainerStyle> <Style> <Setter Property="MenuItem.Header" Value="{Binding name}"/> <Setter Property="MenuItem.Tag" Value="{Binding id}" /> </Style> </MenuItem.ItemContainerStyle> </MenuItem> <MenuItem Header="Delete Selected" Click="ContactDelete_Click"></MenuItem> </ContextMenu> </ListBox.ContextMenu> ...... and on xaml.cs //this code is in the method that loads the groups loadedgroup = service.getGroups(session.key, null); groupListBox.ItemsSource = loadedgroup; groupMenus.ItemsSource = loadedgroup.ToList(); this code is showing the name of the groups alright but i need the id of the group clicked on. If you've noticed i commented a portion of the xaml code. with that i could bind(with ease) the id to the tag.But it won't work and the MenuItem.ItemContainerStyle is the one working but then i'm lost: Question 1 : how do i create a handler method for a click event of a submenu that has the names of the groups? Question 2 : how do i get the clicked group id to work with? thanks for reading and kindly help me in this

  • Is there an easier way to typecast with unknown types?

    - by Adam S
    Hi all. I am writing a function to recurse my XAML and add all the controls to a hashtable, with their names being the keys. Unfortunately it seems like I have to go through and list every possible type: void Recurse_Controls(object start) { string start_type = start.GetType().ToString(); if (start_type == "StackPanel") { ControlsByName.Add(((StackPanel)start).Name, start); foreach (object item in ((StackPanel)start).Children) { Recurse_Controls(item); } } if (start_type == "Grid") { ControlsByName.Add(((Grid)start).Name, start); foreach (object item in ((Grid)start).Children) { Recurse_Controls(item); } } } Is there a simpler way of doing this?
