  • Emacs Lisp: how to set encoding for call-process

  • Reading a WAV file into VST.Net to process with a plugin

    - by Paul
    Hello, I'm trying to use the VST.Net and NAudio frameworks to build an application that processes audio using a VST plugin. Ideally, the application should load a wav or mp3 file, process it with the VST, and then write a new file. I have done some poking around with the VST.Net library and was able to compile and run the samples (specifically the VST Host one). What I have not figured out is how to load an audio file into the program and have it write a new file back out. I'd like to be able to configure the properties for the VST plugin via C#, and be able to process the audio with 2 or more consecutive VSTs. Using NAudio, I was able to create this simple script to copy an audio file. Now I just need to get the output from the WaveFileReader into the VST.Net framework somehow. private void processAudio() { reader = new WaveFileReader("c:/bass.wav"); writer = new WaveFileWriter("c:/bass-copy.wav", reader.WaveFormat); int read; while ((read = reader.Read(buffer, 0, buffer.Length)) > 0) { writer.WriteData(buffer, 0, read); } textBox1.Text = "done"; reader.Close(); reader.Dispose(); writer.Close(); writer.Dispose(); } Please help!! Thanks References: http://vstnet.codeplex.com (VST.Net) http://naudio.codeplex.com (NAudio)

  • Problem with WCF Streaming

    - by H4mm3rHead
    Hi, I was looking at this thread: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1935040/how-to-handle-large-file-uploads-via-wcf I need to have a web service hosted at my provider where i need to upload and download files to. We are talking videos from 1Mb to 100Mb hence the streaming approach. I cant get it to work, i declared an Interface: [ServiceContract] public interface IFileTransferService { [OperationContract] void UploadFile(Stream stream); } and all is fine, i implement it like this: public string FileName = "test"; public void UploadFile(Stream stream) { try { FileStream outStream = File.Open(FileName, FileMode.Create, FileAccess.Write); const int bufferLength = 4096; byte[] buffer = new byte[bufferLength]; int count = 0; while((count = stream.Read(buffer, 0, bufferLength)) > 0) { //progress outStream.Write(buffer, 0, count); } outStream.Close(); stream.Close(); //saved } catch(Exception ex) { throw new Exception("error: "+ex.Message); } } Still no problem, its published to my webserver out on the interweb. So far so good. Now i make a reference to it and will pass it a FileStream, but the argument is now a byte[] - why is that and how do i get it the proper way for streaming? Edit My binding look like this: <bindings> <basicHttpBinding> <binding name="StreamingFileTransferServicesBinding" transferMode="StreamedRequest" maxBufferSize="65536" maxReceivedMessageSize="204003200" /> </basicHttpBinding> </bindings> I can consume it without problems, and get no errors - other than my input parameter has changed from a stream to a byte[]

  • Memory leak with NSData

    - by Kamchatka
    I'm having a leak with this code without being able to find where it's coming from. This function get called within an autorelease pool. I release the IplImage* image argument. When I run the ObjAlloc tool, it tells me that "NSData* data" is leaking. If I try to manually release the UIImage returned by this function, I get an EXC_BAD_ACCESS error, probably because this UIImage is autoreleased. I'm a bit confused, any hint would be appreciated. Thanks! UIImage *UIImageFromIplImage(IplImage *image) { NSLog(@"IplImage (%d, %d) %d bits by %d channels, %d bytes/row %s", image->width, image->height, image->depth, image->nChannels, image->widthStep, image->channelSeq); CGColorSpaceRef colorSpace = CGColorSpaceCreateDeviceRGB(); NSData *data = [NSData dataWithBytes:image->imageData length:image->imageSize]; CGDataProviderRef provider = CGDataProviderCreateWithCFData((CFDataRef)data); CGImageRef imageRef = CGImageCreate(image->width, image->height, image->depth, image->depth * image->nChannels, image->widthStep, colorSpace, kCGImageAlphaNone|kCGBitmapByteOrderDefault, provider, NULL, false, kCGRenderingIntentDefault); UIImage *ret = [UIImage imageWithCGImage:imageRef]; CGImageRelease(imageRef); CGDataProviderRelease(provider); CGColorSpaceRelease(colorSpace); return ret; }

  • emacs: Can I set compilation-error-regexp-alist in a mode hook fn?

    - by Cheeso
    I am trying to set the compilation-error-regexp-alist in a function that I add as a mode hook. (defun cheeso-javascript-mode-fn () (turn-on-font-lock) ...bunch of other stuff ;; for JSLINT (make-local-variable 'compilation-error-regexp-alist) (setq compilation-error-regexp-alist '( ("^[ \t]*\\([A-Za-z.0-9_: \\-]+\\)(\\([0-9]+\\)[,]\\( *[0-9]+\\))\\( Microsoft JScript runtime error\\| JSLINT\\): \\(.+\\)$" 1 2 3) )) ;;(make-local-variable 'compile-command) (setq compile-command (let ((file (file-name-nondirectory buffer-file-name))) (concat "%windir%\\system32\\cscript.exe \\cheeso\\bin\\jslint.js " file))) ) (add-hook 'javascript-mode-hook 'cheeso-javascript-mode-fn) The mode hook runs. The various things I Set in the mode hook work. The compile-command gets set. But for some reason, the compilation-error-regexp-alist value doesn't take effect. If I later do a M-x describe-variable on compilation-error-regexp-alist, it shows me the value I think it should have. But .. the errors in the compilation buffer don't get highlighted, and M-x next-error does not work. If I add the error regexp value to the compilation-error-regexp-alist via setq-default, like this: (setq-default compilation-error-regexp-alist '( ... jslint regexp here ... ... many other regexp's here... )) ...then it works. The errors in the compilation buffer get properly highlighted and M-x next-error functions as expected.

  • Source of parsers for programming languages?

    - by Arkaaito
    I'm dusting off an old project of mine which calculates a number of simple metrics about large software projects. One of the metrics is the length of files/classes/methods. Currently my code "guesses" where class/method boundaries are based on a very crude algorithm (traverse the file, maintaining a "current depth" and adjusting it whenever you encounter unquoted brackets; when you return to the level a class or method began on, consider it exited). However, there are many problems with this procedure, and a "simple" way of detecting when your depth has changed is not always effective. To make this give accurate results, I need to use the canonical way (in each language) of detecting function definitions, class definitions and depth changes. This amounts to writing a simple parser to generate parse trees containing at least these elements for every language I want my project to be applicable to. Obviously parsers have been written for all these languages before, so it seems like I shouldn't have to duplicate that effort (even though writing parsers is fun). Is there some open-source project which collects ready-to-use parser libraries for a bunch of source languages? Or should I just be using ANTLR to make my own from scratch? (Note: I'd be delighted to port the project to another language to make use of a great existing resource, so if you know of one, it doesn't matter what language it's written in.)

  • C file read leaves garbage characters

    - by KJ
    Hi. I'm trying to read the contents of a file into my program but I keep occasionally getting garbage characters at the end of the buffers. I haven't been using C a lot (rather I've been using C++) but I assume it has something to do with streams. I don't really know what to do though. I'm using MinGW. Here is the code (this gives me garbage at the end of the second read): include include char* filetobuf(char *file) { FILE *fptr; long length; char *buf; fptr = fopen(file, "r"); /* Open file for reading */ if (!fptr) /* Return NULL on failure */ return NULL; fseek(fptr, 0, SEEK_END); /* Seek to the end of the file */ length = ftell(fptr); /* Find out how many bytes into the file we are */ buf = (char*)malloc(length+1); /* Allocate a buffer for the entire length of the file and a null terminator */ fseek(fptr, 0, SEEK_SET); /* Go back to the beginning of the file */ fread(buf, length, 1, fptr); /* Read the contents of the file in to the buffer */ fclose(fptr); /* Close the file */ buf[length] = 0; /* Null terminator */ return buf; /* Return the buffer */ } int main() { char* vs; char* fs; vs = filetobuf("testshader.vs"); fs = filetobuf("testshader.fs"); printf("%s\n\n\n%s", vs, fs); free(vs); free(fs); return 0; } The filetobuf function is from this example http://www.opengl.org/wiki/Tutorial2:_VAOs,_VBOs,_Vertex_and_Fragment_Shaders_%28C_/_SDL%29. It seems right to me though. So anyway, what's up with that?

  • C# .Net Serial DataReceived Event response too slow for high-rate data.

    - by Matthew
    Hi, I have set up a SerialDataReceivedEventHandler, with a forms based program in VS2008 express. My serial port is set up as follows: 115200, 8N1 Dtr and Rts enabled ReceivedBytesThreshold = 1 I have a device I am interfacing with over a BlueTooth, USB to Serial. Hyper terminal receives the data just fine at any data rate. The data is sent regularly in 22 byte long packets. This device has an adjustable rate at which data is sent. At low data rates, 10-20Hz, the code below works great, no problems. However, when I increase the data rate past 25Hz, there starts to recieve mulitple packets on one call. What I mean by this is that there should be a event trigger for every incoming packet. With higher output rates, I have tested the buffer size (BytesToRead command) immediatly when the event is called and there are multiple packets in the buffer then. I think that the event fires slowly and by the time it reaches the code, more packes have hit the buffer. One test I do is see how many time the event is trigger per second. At 10Hz, I get 10 event triggers, awesome. At 100Hz, I get something like 40 event triggers, not good. My goal for data rate is 100HZ is acceptable, 200Hz preferred, and 300Hz optimum. This should work because even at 300Hz, that is only 52800bps, less than half of the set 115200 baud rate. Anything I am over looking? public Form1() { InitializeComponent(); serialPort1.DataReceived += new SerialDataReceivedEventHandler(serialPort1_DataReceived); } private void serialPort1_DataReceived(object sender, SerialDataReceivedEventArgs e) { this.Invoke(new EventHandler(Display_Results)); } private void Display_Results(object s, EventArgs e) { serialPort1.Read(IMU, 0, serial_Port1.BytesToRead); }

  • There's a black hole in my server (TcpClient, TcpListener)

    - by Matías
    Hi, I'm trying to build a server that will receive files sent by clients over a network. If the client decides to send one file at a time, there's no problem, I get the file as I expected, but if it tries to send more than one I only get the first one. Here's the server code: I'm using one Thread per connected client public void ProcessClients() { while (IsListening) { ClientHandler clientHandler = new ClientHandler(listener.AcceptTcpClient()); Thread thread = new Thread(new ThreadStart(clientHandler.Process)); thread.Start(); } } The following code is part of ClientHandler class public void Process() { while (client.Connected) { using (MemoryStream memStream = new MemoryStream()) { int read; while ((read = client.GetStream().Read(buffer, 0, buffer.Length)) > 0) { memStream.Write(buffer, 0, read); } if (memStream.Length > 0) { Packet receivedPacket = (Packet)Tools.Deserialize(memStream.ToArray()); File.WriteAllBytes(Path.Combine(Environment.GetFolderPath(Environment.SpecialFolder.DesktopDirectory), Guid.NewGuid() + receivedPacket.Filename), receivedPacket.Content); } } } } On the first iteration I get the first file sent, but after it I don't get anything. I've tried using a Thread.Sleep(1000) at the end of every iteration without any luck. On the other side I have this code (for clients) . . client.Connect(); foreach (var oneFilename in fileList) client.Upload(oneFilename); client.Disconnect(); . . The method Upload: public void Upload(string filename) { FileInfo fileInfo = new FileInfo(filename); Packet packet = new Packet() { Filename = fileInfo.Name, Content = File.ReadAllBytes(filename) }; byte[] serializedPacket = Tools.Serialize(packet); netStream.Write(serializedPacket, 0, serializedPacket.Length); netStream.Flush(); } netStream (NetworkStream) is opened on Connect method, and closed on Disconnect. Where's the black hole? Can I send multiple objects as I'm trying to do? Thanks for your time.

  • valgrind complains doing a very simple strtok in c

    - by monkeyking
    Hi I'm trying to tokenize a string by loading an entire file into a char[] using fread. For some strange reason it is not always working, and valgrind complains in this very small sample program. Given an input like test.txt first second And the following program #include <stdio.h> #include <string.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include <sys/stat.h> //returns the filesize in bytes size_t fsize(const char* fname){ struct stat st ; stat(fname,&st); return st.st_size; } int main(int argc, char *argv[]){ FILE *fp = NULL; if(NULL==(fp=fopen(argv[1],"r"))){ fprintf(stderr,"\t-> Error reading file:%s\n",argv[1]); return 0; } char buffer[fsize(argv[1])]; fread(buffer,sizeof(char),fsize(argv[1]),fp); char *str = strtok(buffer," \t\n"); while(NULL!=str){ fprintf(stderr,"token is:%s with strlen:%lu\n",str,strlen(str)); str = strtok(NULL," \t\n"); } return 0; } compiling like gcc test.c -std=c99 -ggdb running like ./a.out test.txt thanks

  • VB.net Saving an MetaFile / EMF as a bitmap ( .tiff)

    - by pehaada
    Currently I have a third party control that generates a Metafile. I can save the .wmf file to disk with out issue. The problem is how do I render the Metafile as a Tiff file. Currently I have the following code to get my metafile and save it. Dim mf As Metafile = page.GetImage(TXTextControl.Page.PageContent.All) Dim enhMetafileHandle As IntPtr = mf.GetHenhmetafile() Dim h As IntPtr Dim bufferSize As UInteger = GetEnhMetaFileBits(enhMetafileHandle, 0, h) Dim buffer(CInt(bufferSize)) As Byte GetEnhMetaFileBits(enhMetafileHandle, bufferSize, buffer) Dim msMetafileStream As New MemoryStream msMetafileStream.Write(buffer, 0, CInt(bufferSize)) Dim baMetafileData() As Byte baMetafileData = msMetafileStream.ToArray Dim g As Graphics = Graphics.FromImage(mf) mf.Dispose() File.WriteAllBytes("c:\a.wmf", baMetafileData) end sub _ Public Shared Function GetEnhMetaFileBits( ByVal hEMF As System.IntPtr, ByVal nSize As UInteger, ByVal lpData As IntPtr) As UInteger End Function <System.Runtime.InteropServices.DllImportAttribute("gdi32.dll", EntryPoint:="GetEnhMetaFileBits")> _ Public Shared Function GetEnhMetaFileBits(<System.Runtime.InteropServices.InAttribute()> ByVal hEMF As System.IntPtr, ByVal nSize As UInteger, ByVal lpData() As Byte) As UInteger End Function I've tried all sort of IMAGE and Graphic calls and just can't save the meta file as a .tiff. Any suggestions would be great. I even tried to create a new bitmap and draw the metafile onto it. I always end up with a GDI exception being thrown.

  • Mode specific key bindings

    - by rejeep
    Hey, I have a minor mode that also comes with a global mode. The mode have some key bindings and I want the user to have the posibility to specify what bindings should work for each mode. (my-minor-mode-bindings-for-mode 'some-mode '(key1 key2 ...)) (my-minor-mode-bindings-for-mode 'some-other-mode '(key3 key4 ...)) So I need some kind of mode/buffer-local key map. Buffer local is a bit problematic since the user can change the major mode. I have tried some solutions of which neither works any good. Bind all possible keys always and when the user types the key, check if the key should be active in that mode. Execute action if true, otherwise fall back. Like the previous case only that no keys are bound. Instead I use a pre command hook and check if the key pressed should do anything. For each buffer update (whatever that means), run a function that first clears the key map and then updates it with the bindings for that particular mode. I have tried these approaches and I found problems with all of them. Do you know of any good way to solve this? Thanks!

  • Java - Save video stream from Socket to File

    - by Alex
    I use my Android application for streaming video from phone camera to my PC Server and need to save them into file on HDD. So, file created and stream successfully saved, but the resulting file can not play with any video player (GOM, KMP, Windows Media Player, VLC etc.) - no picture, no sound, only playback errors. I tested my Android application into phone and may say that in this instance captured video successfully stored on phone SD card and after transfer it to PC played witout errors, so, my code is correct. In the end, I realized that the problem in the video container: data streamed from phone in MP4 format and stored in *.mp4 files on PC, and in this case, file may be incorrect for playback with video players. Can anyone suggest how to correctly save streaming video to a file? There is my code that process and store stream data (without errors handling to simplify): // getOutputMediaFile() returns a new File object DataInputStream in = new DataInputStream (server.getInputStream()); FileOutputStream videoFile = new FileOutputStream(getOutputMediaFile()); int len; byte buffer[] = new byte[8192]; while((len = in.read(buffer)) != -1) { videoFile.write(buffer, 0, len); } videoFile.close(); server.close(); Also, I would appreciate if someone will talk about the possible "pitfalls" in dealing with the conservation of media streams. Thank you, I hope for your help! Alex.

  • How to get list of files which are currently being diffed in vim

    - by Yogesh Arora
    I am writing a vim plugin in which i need to determine all those files which are currently being diffed. That is the ones for which diff is set. I have been going through the manual but could not find much. Is it possible to do this. This question is actually related to question how-to-detect-the-position-of-window-in-vim. In that question i was trying to get the position of window, so as to detect which one of the diffs is the right one and which is left one. The solution i got was to use winnr() That solution can work only if there are only 2 windows(the ones being diffed). I want to make it generic so that even if multiple windows are open in vim, i can determine which one is on left and which one is right. This is what i was thinking to solve the problem Get a list of all listed buffers For each of this buffers determine if diff is 1 for that If diff is 1 use bufwinnr() to gets it window number. From the window numbers determine which one is left and which one is right. left one will have smaller window number And then determine if current buffer(in which alt-left`alt-right` is pressed) is left or right using winnr of current buffer. Now the pieces that are missing are 1 and 2. For 1 ls can be used but i need to parse its output. Is there a straightfwd way to get list of all listed buffers. And then is there a way to check if for that buffer diff is 1 or not. Any suggestions for a simpler solution are also appreciated.

  • Reading from a file, atoi() returns zero only on first element

    - by Nazgulled
    Hi, I don't understand why atoi() is working for every entry but the first one. I have the following code to parse a simple .csv file: void ioReadSampleDataUsers(SocialNetwork *social, char *file) { FILE *fp = fopen(file, "r"); if(!fp) { perror("fopen"); exit(EXIT_FAILURE); } char line[BUFSIZ], *word, *buffer, name[30], address[35]; int ssn = 0, arg; while(fgets(line, BUFSIZ, fp)) { line[strlen(line) - 2] = '\0'; buffer = line; arg = 1; do { word = strsep(&buffer, ";"); if(word) { switch(arg) { case 1: printf("[%s] - (%d)\n", word, atoi(word)); ssn = atoi(word); break; case 2: strcpy(name, word); break; case 3: strcpy(address, word); break; } arg++; } } while(word); userInsert(social, name, address, ssn); } fclose(fp); } And the .csv sample file is this: 900011000;Jon Yang;3761 N. 14th St 900011001;Eugene Huang;2243 W St. 900011002;Ruben Torres;5844 Linden Land 900011003;Christy Zhu;1825 Village Pl. 900011004;Elizabeth Johnson;7553 Harness Circle But this is the output: [900011000] - (0) [900011001] - (900011001) [900011002] - (900011002) [900011003] - (900011003) [900011004] - (900011004) What am I doing wrong?

But it was not being called in my local testing... So i put in the debug statement to get the database version and it is zero . Any idea why it is not being versioned ? Following is the code to copy the database from my Assets folder ... • New NSData with range of old NSData maintaining bytes.

    - by umop
    I have a fairly large NSData (or NSMutableData if necessary) object which I want to take a small chunk out of and leave the rest. Since I'm working with large amounts of NSData bytes, I don't want to make a big copy, but instead just truncate the existing bytes. Basically: NSData *source: < a few bytes I want to discard + < big chunk of bytes I want to keep NSData *destination: < big chunk of bytes I want to keep There are truncation methods in NSMutableData, but they only truncate the end of it, whereas I want to truncate the beginning. My thoughts are to do this with the methods: - getBytes:range: and - initWithBytesNoCopy:length:freeWhenDone: However, I'm trying to figure out how to manage memory with these. I'm guessing the process will be like this (I've placed ????s where I don't know what to do): void *buffer // Get range of bytes [source getBytes:buffer range:NSMakeRange(myStart, myLength)]; // Somehow (m)alloc the memory which will be freed up in the following step ????? // Release the source, now that I've allocated the bytes [source release]; // Create a new data, recycling the bytes so they don't have to be copied NSData destination = [[NSData alloc] initWithBytesNoCopy:buffer length:myLength freeWhenDone:YES]; Thanks for the help!

  • NSOperation and fwrite (Iphone)

    - by Sridhar
    Hi, I am having problem with this code.Basically I want to execute the fwrite from a timer function asyncronusly. Here is the code block in my Timer function. (This will call by the timer every 0.2 seconds. -(void)timerFunction { WriteFileOperation * operation = [WriteFileOperation writeFileWithBuffer:pFile buffer:readblePixels length:nBytes*15]; [_queue addOperation:operation]; // Here it is waiting to complete the fwrite } The WrtiteFilerOperation is an NSoperation class which it has to write the passing buffer to a file. I added this code in WriteFileOperation's "start" method. (void)start { if (![NSThread isMainThread]) { [self performSelectorOnMainThread:@selector(start) withObject:nil waitUntilDone:NO]; return; } [self willChangeValueForKey:@"isExecuting"]; _isExecuting = YES; [self didChangeValueForKey:@"isExecuting"]; NSLog(@"write bytes %d",fwrite(_buffer, 1, _nBytes, _file)); free(_buffer); [self finish]; } The problem here is , my timerFunction blocked by NSOperation until it writes the buffer into file.(I mean blocked till start method finishes its execution) and the performance seems same as directly placing the fwrite in timerFunction. I want to just return to timerFunction with out waiting from the start method execution to be completed. What I am doing wrong here ? Thanks In Advance Raghu

  • How can I get at the raw bytes of the request in WCF?

    - by Gregory Higley
    For logging purposes, I want to get at the raw request sent to my RESTful web service implemented in WCF. I have already implemented IDispatchMessageInspector. In my implementation of AfterReceiveRequest, I want to spit out the raw bytes of the message even (and especially) if the content of the message is invalid. This is for debugging purposes. My service works perfectly already, but it is often helpful when working through problems with clients who are trying to call the service to know what it was they sent, i.e., the raw bytes. For example, let's say that instead of sending a well-formed XML document, they post the string "your mama" to my service endpoint. I want to see that that's what they did. Unfortunately using MessageBuffer::CreateBufferedCopy() won't work unless the contents of the message are already well-formed XML. Here's (roughly) what I already have in my implementation of AfterReceiveRequest: // The immediately following line raises an exception if the message // does not contain valid XML. This is uncool because I want // the raw bytes regardless of whether they are valid or not. using (MessageBuffer buffer = request.CreateBufferedCopy(Int32.MaxValue)) { using (MemoryStream stream = new MemoryStream()) using (StreamReader reader = new StreamReader(stream)) { buffer.WriteMessage(stream); stream.Position = 0; Trace.TraceInformation(reader.ReadToEnd()); } request = buffer.CreateMessage(); } My guess here is that I need to get at the raw request before it becomes a Message. This will most likely have to be done at a lower level in the WCF stack than an IDispatchMessageInspector. Anyone know how to do this?

  • aio_read from file error on OS X

    - by Pyetras
    The following code: #include <fcntl.h> #include <unistd.h> #include <stdio.h> #include <aio.h> #include <errno.h> int main (int argc, char const *argv[]) { char name[] = "abc"; int fdes; if ((fdes = open(name, O_RDWR | O_CREAT, 0600 )) < 0) printf("%d, create file", errno); int buffer[] = {0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5}; if (write(fdes, &buffer, sizeof(buffer)) == 0){ printf("writerr\n"); } struct aiocb aio; int n = 2; while (n--){ aio.aio_reqprio = 0; aio.aio_fildes = fdes; aio.aio_offset = sizeof(int); aio.aio_sigevent.sigev_notify = SIGEV_NONE; int buffer2; aio.aio_buf = &buffer2; aio.aio_nbytes = sizeof(buffer2); if (aio_read(&aio) != 0){ printf("%d, readerr\n", errno); }else{ const struct aiocb *aio_l[] = {&aio}; if (aio_suspend(aio_l, 1, 0) != 0){ printf("%d, suspenderr\n", errno); }else{ printf("%d\n", *(int *)aio.aio_buf); } } } return 0; } Works fine on Linux (Ubuntu 9.10, compiled with -lrt), printing 1 1 But fails on OS X (10.6.6 and 10.6.5, I've tested it on two machines): 1 35, readerr Is this possible that this is due to some library error on OS X, or am I doing something wrong?

  • Asp.Net tree view in SharePoint webpart- Input string error

    - by Faiz
    Hi All, I am facing a very strange issue. I have a SharePoint webpart that displays an asp.net tree view. It takes tree depth from a drop down. To improve performance of the tree view, i am setting the PopulateOnDemand property to true for the last level of the tree depth. For example, if i have a total of 10 levels in the data and the user selects tree depth as 3, then the third level data i set PopulateOnDemand to true. Now comes the strange part. When i click on the + image on the third level, and if there are children under that particular node then call back happens and node gets expanded. But if there no children for that particular node, then click + throws "Input string was not in the correct format" error. I have made sure that there is no server side error. Some things looks to be fishy when internet explorer is trying to bind construct the expanded node. Please let me know if any one faced similar issue or the resolution for the same? Thanks in advance

  • Use a vector to index a matrix without linear index

    - by David_G
    G'day, I'm trying to find a way to use a vector of [x,y] points to index from a large matrix in MATLAB. Usually, I would convert the subscript points to the linear index of the matrix.(for eg. Use a vector as an index to a matrix in MATLab) However, the matrix is 4-dimensional, and I want to take all of the elements of the 3rd and 4th dimensions that have the same 1st and 2nd dimension. Let me hopefully demonstrate with an example: Matrix = nan(4,4,2,2); % where the dimensions are (x,y,depth,time) Matrix(1,2,:,:) = 999; % note that this value could change in depth (3rd dim) and time (4th time) Matrix(3,4,:,:) = 888; % note that this value could change in depth (3rd dim) and time (4th time) Matrix(4,4,:,:) = 124; Now, I want to be able to index with the subscripts (1,2) and (3,4), etc and return not only the 999 and 888 which exist in Matrix(:,:,1,1) but the contents which exist at Matrix(:,:,1,2),Matrix(:,:,2,1) and Matrix(:,:,2,2), and so on (IRL, the dimensions of Matrix might be more like size(Matrix) = (300 250 30 200) I don't want to use linear indices because I would like the results to be in a similar vector fashion. For example, I would like a result which is something like: ans(time=1) 999 888 124 999 888 124 ans(time=2) etc etc etc etc etc etc I'd also like to add that due to the size of the matrix I'm dealing with, speed is an issue here - thus why I'd like to use subscript indices to index to the data. I should also mention that (unlike this question: Accessing values using subscripts without using sub2ind) since I want all the information stored in the extra dimensions, 3 and 4, of the i and jth indices, I don't think that a slightly faster version of sub2ind still would not cut it..

  • Abstracting boxed array structures in J

    - by estanford
    I've been working on a J function for a while, that's supposed to scan a list and put consecutive copies of an element into separate, concatenated boxes. My efforts have taken me as far as the function (<;. 2) ((2&(~:/\)),1:) which tests successive list entries for inequality, returns a list of boolean values, and cuts the list into boxes that end each time the number 1 appears. Here's an example application: (<;. 2) ((2&(~:/\)),1:) 1 2 3 3 3 4 1 1 1 +-+-+-----+-+-----+ |1|1|0 0 1|1|0 0 1| +-+-+-----+-+-----+ The task would be finished if I could then replace all those booleans with their corresponding values in the input argument. I've been looking for some kind of mystery function that would let me do something like final =: mysteryfunction @ (<;. 2) ((2&(~:/\)),1:) final 1 2 3 3 3 4 1 1 1 +-+-+-----+-+-----+ |1|2|3 3 3|4|1 1 1| +-+-+-----+-+-----+ In an ideal situation, there would be some way to abstractly represent the nesting pattern generated by (<;. 2) ((2&(~:/\)),1:) to the original input list. (i.e. "This boxed array over here has the first element boxed at depth one, the second element boxed at depth one, the third, fourth, and fifth elements boxed together at depth one,..., so take that unboxed list over there and box it up the same way.") I tried fooling around with ;. , S: , L:, L. and &. to produce that behavior, but I haven't had much luck. Is there some kind of operator or principle I'm missing that could make this happen? It wouldn't surprise me if I were overthinking the whole issue, but I'm running out of ideas.
