    during debug mode or while i am doing testing, i need to print lost of various information, so i use this method ifdef TESTING // code with lots of debugging info else // clean code only endif // TESTING` Is this the good method, or is there any other simple and elegant method. But this way, I am repating the same code in two places and if anything is to be changed later on in the code, I have to do it in both places, which is time consuming and error prone. Thanks.   • Perl: Compare and edit underlying structure in hash

    I have a hash of complex structure and I want to perform a search and replace. The first hash is like the following: $VAR1 = { abc => { 123 => ["xx", "yy", "zy"], 456 => ["ab", "cd", "ef"] }, def => { 659 => ["wx", "yg", "kl"], 456 => ["as", "sd", "df"] }, mno => { 987 => ["lk", "dm", "sd"] }, } and I want to iteratively search for all '123'/'456' elements, and if a match is found, I need to do a comparison of the sublayer, i.e. of ['ab','cd','ef'] and ['as','sd','df'] and in this case, keep only the one with ['ab','cd','ef']. So the output will be as follows: $VAR1 = { abc => { 123 => ["xx", "yy", "zy"], 456 => ["ab", "cd", "ef"] }, def => { 659 => ["wx", "yg", "kl"] }, mno => { 987 => ["lk", "dm", "sd"] }, } So the deletion is based on the substructure, and not index. How can it be done? Thanks for the help!! Lets assume that I will declare the values to be kept, i.e. I will keep 456 = ["ab", "cd", "ef"] based on a predeclared value of ["ab", "cd", "ef"] and delete any other instance of 456 anywhere else. The search has to be for every key. so the code will go through the hash, first taking 123 = ["xx", "yy", "zy"] and compare it against itself throughout the rest of the hash, if no match is found, do nothing. If a match is found, like in the case of 456 = ["ab", "cd", "ef"], it will compare the two, and as I have said that in case of a match the one with ["ab", "cd", "ef"] would be kept, it will keep 456 = ["ab", "cd", "ef"] and discard any other instances of 456 anywhere else in the hash, i.e. it will delete 456 = ["as", "sd", "df"] in this case.

    I'm using var retval = value.replace(/<br[\s\/]?>/gi, '\n'); To strip the <br> tags from the textarea and nl2br('$_POST('newValueHere')') to insert into my database and to return back to jeditable to display the edits. The only problem I'm having is that each click on the editable field seems to make all the <br> tags be written twice? This makes no sense, does anyone have any ideas what could be going on?

    Hi, I tried using Apple's shell script to automate doc set creation with every build (and loading that in XCode) - http://developer.apple.com/tools/creatingdocsetswithdoxygen.html but found that it had some bugs. Firstly it's not updating the entries in doxygen.config, perhaps one needs to put the settings in the exact hierarchy as it appears in the native doxygen file (?).     Anyone experience any issues with IIS7, integrated mode forms authentication while using IE8? I have a website with a login form, once logged in, any postback causes the user to be logged out. This doesn't even happen consistently, sometimes I can login and not experience this issue, other times it happens instantly. I can not replicate the problem in any other browser and I cannot replicate on my development machine running / debugging vs2010.

    Hello, I have some PDF documents which are being displayed in the browser, with some fields already being pre-populated from the database using iTextSharp (we are running Windows Server 2008, IIS 7, SQL Server 2008, and ASP.NET 2.0/2.5 with C#). Our clients need to be able to fill in the remaining fields and save the PDF to the server. I have considered the following possibilities: 1.) Somehow using iTextSharp to parse the form fields, grab all the form data and save it to the database on submit. 2.) Adding a submit button to the PDF itself using LiveCycle with some sort of JS click event to save the FDF/XFDF/XDP/XML data either to the database or to a flat file on the server. I am currently unsure as to what the best approach would be, what would work, or how to implement any of these possible solutions, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • Data on the Frequency of Edit Operations Required to Correct a Misspelt Word

    Does anybody know of any data that relates to the frequency of the types of mistakes the people make when they misspell a word? I'm not referring to words themselves, but tje errors that are made by the typist. For example, I personally make transposition errors the most followed by deletion errors (that is, not including a letter I should), substitution errors and lastly, insertion errors. However, it would not surprise me to find out that typing a wrong letter (a substitution error, e.g., xat instead of cat) is more frequent than not including a letter. My purpose is to be able to make best guesses at correcting a word when I only have the original user's input. The idea being that if one type of error is more frequent than others, then it's more likely that correcting a word via that type of operation is correct. I don't object to using a database of commonly misspelt words but I prefer an algorithmic solution to depending on a corpus--especially if it might be faster.

    hi, I'm using Drupal and Lightbox module to display the content of articles in this website: donatellabernardi.ch/drupal if you click on an article the lightbox is displayed. However I have 2 problems with it: 1) I cannot use the libraries such as the tooltip library qTip from it. (If you move the mouse over the balls, you'll see the tooltips) 2) I cannot invert the title with the balls (tags), because it seems that the template of the node in the lightbox is not controlled by my theme. I tried also to change the node template (in the drupal root folder), swapping title and meta data but it didn't work. thanks

When I try some id in numerical value like "0001" or "02013" it's fine, and can run. but when I just got to put "abushd" it forced close. anyone know why I got this?

  • Showing fields as readonly in Edit Form of List Item in SharePoint

    I have a list which has 5 columns in it. Some of these fields help the user fill in the data but I don't want the user to modify these fields. I have tried changing the field to readonly but that ends up hiding the field completely from the form. Is there a way to get the field to render out to the form as just text? Maybe I need to use javascript to disable the fields programmatically - would prefer not to go down that route though..
