  • In .NET, how do you send multiple arguments into a DOS command prompt?

    I am trying to execute DOS commands in ASP.NET 2.0. What I have now calls a BAT file which, in turn, calls a CMD file. It works (with the end result being a file gets ftp'ed). However, I'd like to dump the BAT and CMD files and run everything in .NET. What is the format of sending multiple arguments into the command window? Here is what I have now. The .NET Code: System.Diagnostics.Process proc = new System.Diagnostics.Process(); proc.EnableRaisingEvents = false; proc.StartInfo.FileName = "C:\\MyBat.BAT"; proc.Start(); proc.WaitForExit(); The Bat File looks like this (all it does is run the cmd file): ftp.exe -s:C:\MyCMD.cmd And here is the content of the Cmd file: open <my host> <my user name> <my pw> quote site cyl pri=1 sec=1 lrecl=1786 blksize=0 recfm=fb retpd=30 put C:\MyDTLFile.dtl 'MyDTLFile.dtl' quit

    I am currently in the process of creating an application that records current location of a mobile device in intervals, displaying the route as a coloured line on the device in real-time. At the same time the application is storing the longitude and latitude in a SQLite database as I want the user to be able to bring up that specific route again. The route has a primary key and each waypoint is linked to that route by a foreign key. What would be the easiest way to display the saved route on the map?.

  • Where are Silverlight assemblies stored when a xap file is run?

    We currently have a XAP file which contains Foo.dll, and another XAP file (with a completely different name) which contains an updated version Foo.dll (but the same version number). When we run the second XAP file, it looks as though the Silverlight runtime on the client, is picking up the old version of Foo.dll from the first XAP file. Anyone know where the Silverlight runtime unzips the xap file before running its content? Or if the runtime executes on a single app domain which could explain these errors?

  • I've got to update a column in one SQL table with a counter stored in another table, and update that

    I'm using SQL server 2005 (for testing) & 2007 (for production). I have to add a unique record ID to all the records in my table, in an existing column, using a "last record ID" column from another table. So, I'm going to do some sort of UPDATE of my table, but I have to get the "last record ID" from the other table, increment it, update THAT table and then update my record. Can anyone give me an example of how to do this? Other users may be incrementing the counter also.

  • Japanese character stored in SQL Server DB using ASP page that assumed it as ISO-8859-1 encoding

    We have a legacy ASP based product that allowed the UI and Data languages of user groups to be configured according to their locations. CodePage and CharSet in ASP pages collecting data was set accordingly. I've noticed few instances in the SQL Server DB where users posted Japanese characters in the ASP page that assumes the oncoming stream to be of ISO-8859-1/Western and as a result, the data in the SQL table has gobbled up. While upgrading the client to our new product, I want to back-convert those "garbage" Japanese (in some instances Chinese) characters back to their actual form. Can I create some utility ASP page that would go through such data values and "fix" the wrongly-encoded strings and store everything back as utf-8 strings? In any case, I don't want to affect my French/Spanish/English characters that might be there as well.

    What I want to do is parse an argument to a tcl proc as a string without any evaluation. For example if I had a trivial proc that just prints out it's arguments: proc test { args } { puts "the args are $args" } What I'd like to do is call it with: test [list [expr 1+1] [expr 2+2]] And NOT have tcl evaluate the [list [expr 1+1] [expr 2+2]]. Or even if it evaluated it I'd still like to have the original command line. Thus with the trivial "test" proc above I'd like to be able to return: the args are [list [expr 1+1] [expr 2+2]] Is this possible in tcl 8.4 ? Thank you. -MP

    I need for html file/ ajax code to take the JSON message and store the PATHS as a javaScript array. Then my buildImage function can display the first image in the array. I'm new to AJAX and believe my misunderstanding lies within the converting of the JSON to Javascript. I'm confused also about if my code creates a JSON array or object or either. I might need also to download a library to my app to understand JSON? Below is a PHP file loading the paths of the images.     hi, I'm passing data to a ListView to display some restaurant names. Now when clicking on an item I'd like to start another activity to display more restaurant data. I'm not sure about how to do it. Shall I pass all the restaurant data in a bundle through the intent object? Or shall I just pass the restaurant id and get the data in the other activity? In that case, how can I access my restaurantList from the other activity? In any case, how can I get data from the restaurant I clicked on (the view only contains the name)? Any help, pointers welcome!
