I'm facing with a problem. Most of standart sort functions and plugins are being used the ASCII table.   • JavaOne: Parleys.com, Spring Vs. Java EE and HTML5 tooling

    Parleys.com, a 2012 Duke's Choice Award winner, is an E-Learning platform that host content from different sources (conferences, JUGs meetings, etc.). There is a lot of technical content available for online but also offline consumption, including many sessions on Java EE. Parleys has just released, for free, all the Devoxx 2011 sessions (video and slides sync'ed!). From a technical point of view, Parleys.com is interesting as they have switched from Spring to Java EE 6 to avoid being locked in a proprietary framework. Talking about Java EE and/or Spring, Harshad Oak has posted an update on the 'Spring Vs. Java EE' panel discussion that took place on Tuesday.     Apart from the differences in syntax, can Scala be considered a superset of Java that adds the functional paradigm to the object-oriented paradigm? Or are there any major features in Java for which there is no direct Scala equivalent? With major features I mean program constructs that would force me to heavily rewrite / restructure my code, e.g., if I had to port a Java program to Scala. Or can I expect that, given a Java program, I can port it to Scala almost line-by-line?

I want to improve myself, so I have to start tackling some issues I've been neglecting like this and trying Git instead of being stuck on SVN. What's a good way to learn TDD? I'll probably be using Eclipse to program in Java. I've heard of JUnit, but I don't know if there's anything else I should consider.

This involves also returning the lot with the given number or null if there is no such lot. If you enter , say 5 lots and then use the remove method, this codes removes whichever lot you specify. However if you enter a new lot after using the removeLot method - an internal error message comes up regarding lotnumbering . Any ideas?     So I have a listview that is displaying correctly. When the item is "turned on" the text is white and when it's turned off it's grey. That part all functions great. However when I add the ImageView into the mix I get a null pointer exception. I don't understand why. I've tried using bitmaps as well and get the same problem. Everything about java is correctly installed but when I try to run java ("java -version" forexample) I get this error : Error occurred during initialization of VM Could not reserve enough space for object heap Could not create the Java virtual machine. I don't think this is a java centered problem, Out of memory for sure. I contacted the vps admin, but he says everything is fine, you have 2gb ram, expandable to 4gb! I did a bit search on the subject, here is my BEANS file (numbers converted to humanredable form using a script). By the way do JVM heap memory allocs count on kmemsize or privvmpages ?
