  • Share functions between Crystal Reports without Crystal Reports Server?

    We have several reports that do the same formatting operations (e.g. displaying "PASS" or "FAIL" if a value is within a particular range.) Without Crystal Reports Server, is there a way to share functions between reports so that they do not need to be duplicated? I understand I could do this with a user function library but I would prefer not to port all of the crystal functions to UFL. Using Crystal Reports 2008.

  • Separating a group of functions into an includable file in C?

    I know this is common in most languages, and maybe in C, as well. Can C handle separating several functions out to a separate file and having them be included? The functions will rely on other include files, as well. I want the code to retain all functionality, but the code will be reused in several C scripts, and if I change it once I do not wish to have to go through every script and change it there, too.

    I understand that in Objective-C you declare an array in the header file and interact with it in a class. So far I'm adding things and fetching them fine within a single function. I'm new to the language however and can't figure out how to share that array across other functions. I'd like to initialize array data in my viewDidLoad and access it from various functions later on.   • All Xen domU LVM volumes corrupt after reboot

    I'm running a Debian Squeeze dom0, and after rebooting it all 7 of my domUs have data corruption. Each is setup as ext3 partition directly on a separate lvm2 volume. None of the lvm volumes will mount; all have bad superblocks. I've tried e2fsck with each superblock to no avail. What else can I try? Each domU has two LVM volumes connected to it, one for the disk and one for swap. The disk is mounted at root, formatted as a normal ext3 partition as a xen-blk device. The volumes are never mounted outside of the guest OS. I'm running Ubuntu 11.04 using the instructions here. I'm not sure that they didn't shutdown properly, all I know is they were corrupt after I issues a clean 'reboot' on the dom0.   • Differences between fish and bash to pass commandline arguments to alias functions?

    From the answers to my other question here i learned about the possibility to pass commandline arguments to a alias function in Bash. In Fish i can edit an alias by editing the file config.fish in ~/.config/fish directory and adding a line like this alias lsp='ls -ah --color=always | less -R;' and it works perfectly. This should be the equivalent to editing ~/.bash_aliases in bash But when i try to setup an alias function to pass arguments like this alias lsp='_(){ ls -ah --color=always $* | less -R; }; _' it doesn't work for fish? Are there any differences between fish and bash in the way to setup an alias to pass commandline arguments that prevent this second alias from working with fish instead of bash?

    I can define a function like: myfunction () { ls -R "$1" ; } And then myfunction . just works. But if I do echo "myfunction ." | sh echo "myfunction ." | bash the messages are: sh: myfunction: not found bash: line 1: myfunction: command not found Why? And how can I call a function that comes from a string if not by piping it to sh or bash? I know there is this command source, but I am confused of when I should use source and when sh or bash. Also, I cannot pipe through source. To add to confusion, there is this command . that seems to have nothing to do with the "." that means "current directory".

  • Methods of ordering function definitions in code

    When I work on some programming project (usually command line application in Python with many switches), I'm usually creating about 30 and more functions. Most of the functions are in one file (except some helpers that I utilize in more projects). Some of the functions are called on particular switch (like -p or --print) but many functions do some helper computations, print operations or database operations because I don't want to main functions be too large. When I have an idea for a new functionality I often put new functions randomly to the file. Should I think more about it and place it to some particular place? Are there some methods for this?
