  When users submit a form, they will sometimes click refresh or backspace then resubmit which causes multiple entries in mysql. How can i prevent mysql from allowing more than 1 of the same entry?   I'm posting a form with javascript and it seems to be changing a value that I've entered in. Html: <% using (Html.BeginForm("ChangeTime", "Cart", new { cartItemId = cartItem.CartItemID }, FormMethod.Post, null)) { %> <%= Html.TextBox("startTime")%> <input type="submit" value="Update" /> <% } %> JQuery: <script type="text/javascript"> $('#startTime').change(function() { $(this).parent('form').submit(); }); </script> When I put a time in the textbox (05/05/2010 06:08 am), the form is submitted, however the string as it comes through, is 05/05/2010 - with the time part removed. I see this in fiddler. If get rid of the javascript and click the button above, it goes through how it should. Why is JQuery changing my text?

  I have an Ajaxable application which has some UpdateProgress for each postBack events. everything is good and working great. I want to display another Indicator in my SiteMapPath bar which shows a post back is happening no matter what. For example when user clicks on a button an UpdateProgress display an Indicator Image in central part of application. I want to display another image ( for every postbacks not only for one) in top of application toolbar.   I have a cross-domain POST request to http://api.local/user/auth - my API endpoint. I allow Cross Domain requests in my api with CORS. Using Chrome if that makes a difference. I get a valid server JSON response with 200 Status Code but I am using deferreds from a backbone model like so: @model.save() .fail(-> console.log 'sync fail') .success -> console.log 'sync OK' And I consistently get a 'sync fail' instead of the expected 'sync OK' Thoughts?

  I've just integrated RestKit with a Mac application for communicating with a web service. After much confusion, I have successfully got requests and responses working using it. The problem I am now finding is that when I want to make a POST request. I have created a RKRequestDescriptor with a mapping for a whole number of properties and all of the properties are being sent as parameters for the query. I want a way of dynamically changing the parameters that are sent, for example not sending some parameters where the property is nil. Is this possible as part of the built-in functionality of RestKit? And if so, how?

  I know you should use POST whenever data will be modified on a public website. There are several reasons including the fact that search engines will follow all the links and modify the data. My question is do you think it is OK to use GET behind authenticated pages in something like an admin interface? One example would be a list of products with a delete link on each row. Since the only way to get to the page is if you are logged in, is there any harm in just using a link with the product ID in the query string?

If I put it in my Rakefile and/or src_of_myproject/lib/rubygems_plugin.rb file, than build the gem, install it--but the expected string is never printed after the installation. I'm totally confused. How to embed the post-install hook into the gem spec? Update: it's getting more interesting. If I put Gem.post_uninstall hook in src_of_myproject/lib/rubygems_plugin.rb--that hook works. Gem.post_uninstall do |uninstaller| puts "!!! #{uninstaller.spec.full_name} UNINSTALLED !!!" end Hm... And wtf is with Gem.post_install?

• Input checkbox name converts period signs into underlines on post

  Hello I am working on an image gallery at the moment. When a user is logged in, an x appears over each image and a checkbox next to it to enable the user to delete that image. Only if the checkbox is checked will the image be deleted. They are both in a (one for each image in the gallery), the small image "x.gif" is an input type="image" that submits the $_POST form. The checkbox inherits the name of the image and is to prevent accidentally pressing the x button and deleting an image. The problem is that the checkbox name, upon posting it gets converted from (for instance) "Image.jpg" to "Image_jpg" When i test it with print_r($_POST); Should I create code for replacing _jpg or _gif into .jpg and .gif after the post or is there a way to make it possible to use period signs in input names? Any help is greatly appreciated.
